This is a so-called Chinese Food Chain. What can I say? The food is mediocre at best. This is a place I go when I'm running errands and need something quick and don't have to get out of my car since they have a drive-through. Did I say quick? I always make that mistake and never learn my lesson. You're actually much better walking into the place as the drive-through is ultra slow. You're just screwed if there are several other cars ahead of you. The service is OK. Nothing that stands out to me. As far as the food is concerned. The only thing I like is their Honey Walnut Shrimp. The other food items I don't really care for. I usually get their bowls. It's a bit pricey for what you get. The last time I had ordered a 2-item combo. I ended up giving the majority of the food to a colleague. There's always ample parking when I've come by here so there's a plus. Very disappointed in my experience here today. I could not hear anyone after sitting at the voice box for three minutes, so I pulled to the window. I let them know I cannot hear anything but still would like to order. They asked me to please pull around back to the voice box. They refused to take my order at the window. Understandable, so I pulled back around. I tried to order three things off the menu, all three were sold out for the evening. They are still open for another hour and a half. I will not be returning. The staff was so rude. They got an order wrong and proceeded to tell me it was my fault. They fixed the issue, but their body language spoke volumes as they dropped the bowl onto glass sneeze guard. The food is typical of any Panda Express. Sometimes good, sometimes a little less so, but this review is about the service. Without fail the drive-through is slow. Sometimes within reason other times just shocking. Recently we were in the drive-through for over 15 minutes, and that was just getting to the window. The greeting is a mixed bag. There are some friendly people at the window, and there are some that are completely indifferent. I'm not sure if the unfriendly ones are as a result of the slowness of the service, but at the least if you've been waiting that long they could be pleasant. One annoying thing is that you always have to wait for them to finish suggesting whatever they're trying to sell as an entrée before you can place your order. I understand that's probably store policy, and I can't fault the sales tactic, but when the drive-through is this slow things like this are an annoyance. I would recommend that if you're in a hurry to choose someplace else for a drive-through. Maybe this will be a better option then Chick-fil-A when it opens with the usual horrific lines but right now even McDonald's without terrible drive-through times tends to be faster. Hopefully their management pays attention to yelp, and I would happily amend my review if this improves. read more

Let me start off by saying the food tastes as good as it usually does, however the reason to write this review solely came from my experience inside the lobby waiting for our order to be filled. I'm unsure why they still do not have the ability, or want to have the lobby open for orders yet as the drive thru lane was zig-zagging the entire parking lot the entire time we waited, about 30 minutes. The staff seemed to have no sense of urgency as they were clearly moving slow, and taking time between orders. One man came in claiming he got the message that his order was ready 20 minutes ago yet wasn't started until he showed up. The manager seemed to be in her own world cooking instead of overseeing the young staff that definitely could have used her assistance.... some staff was wearing gloves, however the manager while prepping and touching food was not, nor was the young man preparing customer orders. He was seen touching his headset and immediately to go boxes, touching the inside of almost every one before placing food into them. I then saw him accidentally put a second item in the plate, realized he messed up then proceeded to dump it out and put the correct item in the same spot. There's easily a possibility for cross contamination there and is unacceptable in any food establishment. I've been a food manager for many years now and was honestly getting depressed watching the quality of these workers. I know everyone's doing their best during covid, but so am I in a much cleaner and efficiently ran restaurant. I've had similar experiences here before and am starting to lose hope that the management staff here has the ability to turn this around. Being grossed out by employees actions, and seeing how little they cared, including ignoring myself and another patron with questions. Truly hope this gets improved! read more

This site has gone downhill for the last two years and I do not anticipate going back. The menu has been chopped and the food quality has gone down as well. I ask for simple things like wrapping the ala carte box in plastic wrap so it does not leak that horrible sauce over the entire bag inside and they just do not accommodate the customer. Sadly, this branch in Covington has not lived up to the hype that brought me back to eating their food again. I could not help but compare service from a branch to another. Other branches are more generous with their serving than this one in Covington. In Covington, it's as if they would not want to sell you the food you'd pay for. Panda Express in Covington is the closest to where I am. It is one of the most convenient options around town when I get hungry. Convenient, but risking the disappointment that you do not get as much as you would have if you were to go to another branch. On several occasions, they put more onion slices and red bell pepper than meat, fill their kiddie cup with ice - so little to drink, and once forgot to include the cookie that came with the kid's meal. read more

Service here is pretty consistent but the food quality can be hit or miss. Sometimes the honey walnut shrimp can be mushy and gross. Sometimes I dont get any walnuts. Everyone makes mistakes. But cross contamination is a huge deal. I ordered broccoli beef, two containers. And one of them I tasted what seemed to be a nut. Not taking any chances, I spat the food out and began washing my mouth out. I didn't swallow anything, which probably saved me a lot of trouble. Almost immediately my mouth started to itch and I got bumps on my tongue. A sure sign I had something I was allergic to. The only nut contaminated dish they had was the Honey Walnut Shrimp. I don't know if they had something earlier. Walnuts are my worst food allergy. Tldr I ate some cross contaminated food. This is serious. Fast chinese food is what you get here... They have a drive-thru, so, clearly. The shanghai beef was pretty good. The chow mien isn't amazing but the veggies in it are super fresh and I'm glad to see that they actually prepare their own veggies!! The orange chicken tasted REALLY chemically to me... I didn't like it too much. The meal was okay, overall. I went to the restroom during my visit here, and it smelled like straight MOLD, which leads me to wonder if they have a problem with that or not... The employees were kind of rude as well. My boyfriend was really nice to them and told them to have a good day and said thank you as we left, but they didn't even answer us. As a fan of Chinese food, i accept Panda Express with open arms! This place is a little taste of heaven! I don't go here often but when i do it has my taste buds in a twist! Adding new items to the menu is ballzy and turns out to be a great idea. At this location there are a few things i do and don't like! For one they have a drive thru! Woopie! Best thing to happen to Panda Express since most locations ive been to have been inside Malls and i have to walk in with no makeup on, looking trashy because im tired and it doesn't end well for me! But here i can just order outside in the comfort of my car and im good to go! Problem however is the food takes FOREVER to be served while waiting at the drive thru. Ive been patient with this place on multiple accounts and understand how small it is but i can tell others wouldn't be happy about it because they think its fast food, it should be like Mcdonalds! But it isn't! They like to make things fresh, run out of things and it takes longer to cook certain meats than if you were to serve fries and a hamburger! So be patient if food runs out. Workers there have been friendly and the store is kept very clean. I haven't had a problem at Panda that i can recall but the prices have gone up and are charging alot more. I don't mind however since its just 20-50 cents more and isn't a big deal to me. Now here's the good part! The food here has been made to perfection or close to it! I dislike what the Bellevue location has turned into. The food taste blah there now! Here however i get the good stuff! The chow mein noodles are my favorite! And the chicken is fantastic! Super flavorful! So overall, do i like it? Heck yeah! Will i continue to come here? Another YEAH! Is this the best place? Panda Express in Covington made my family sick... I apologize in advance for the graphic content below. My wife decided to get some Panda Express the afternoon of 5/24/2015. We ordered the Shanghai Beef for us, orange chicken for the kids, plus got the rice and cookies. Meal went down alright. Rice was borderline hard and not soft at all. Meat dishes tasted ok. Overly sweet. Cookies were very stale. I chalked it up to not having been to Panda Express in 2 years and forgetting what their food was like. I had already decided to not go again based on that. But it got worse from there... About 6pm my wife began getting sick. She made many trips to the bathroom to vomit then went to go lay down. I began getting sick about 9pm. I had both diarrhea and vomit. Both of my kids had the same throughout the night. The entire night we were all in and out of the bathroom. The following day, we had to cancel all of our memorial day plans because we were all still sick, and we were exhausted from the many bathroom trips during the night. I had to take off work on Tuesday as well as both of my kids were still sick and I was still shaky and dehydrated (peeing brown) from this experience. How do I know it was the Panda express (as opposed to something else we ate, or a bug)? Between the time we had Panda Express and getting sick, we all had snacks. While I cannot speak for my wife and kids, I know I threw up shanghai beef, some rice, and bits of those terrible stale fortune cookies. I plan to also send this to the manager of that establishment. That entire night I was rolling in stomach pain, contemplating calling up an ambulance as none of us were in any condition to drive, and I never felt so sick over food. I am sure my experience was unique to this location, but still... Buyer beware. There are many other (better) places to go that cast about the same. read more

This is a my go-to place if I don't feel like cooking or if I'm out running errands and need a quick bite to eat. I've been to this location multiple times and sometimes I dread coming here. Damn, why isn't there a Pei Wei franchise in Seattle yet?!?! When dining in, the tables are always sticky! One time I ordered food here and there was a giant long hair in it. The absent minded girl asked if I wanted a replacement (of course!), and she went to go get a refill from the same pan she just served me from when I had to give her a "duh!" reminder that she should probably remake it rather than re-serve it. The portions tend to be under handed and they never have enough of the popular featured items on hand in slow or busy moments. Although, one time I looked at the sad tray and asked them to remake it and they obliged. I think their best value is the entree bowls for around $6. You get a scoop of rice or lo mein and 1 feature dish. There are other Panda locations that seem to have better service, but no matter which one I go to I always wish I were at Pei Wei instead!!! read more

According to panda express rules; food is fresh, made very quickly, and friendly people. You want to definitely eat there when jose,patty,nard and manager jorge are cooking. No matter who cooks its good; but they are so quick and food even fresher when they are the ones doing it. Manager (Jorge), super kind and welcoming. He has a friendly crew who has fun while they work. There are a few people (1 or 2) who could use a little customer service training and a smile.but overall friendly. If you go there often they call you by your name and treat you like family. Saw a mom and her son who go in once a week and are always treated with smile. Best panda express around.
