Service was bad I ordered a bowl with honey walnut shrimp and they even confirmed it and repeated it twice and I received mushroom instead which I would've been fine with just a mix up but then it was just blamed on me as my mistake also when ordering they just seemed rude which I'm saying "they" but really it was just one girl everyone else was nice same as the manager just really that one girl that wasn't very good on the service side. Panda always manages to hit the spot and disappoint me all at the same time. This visit was no exception. I had a deal for 2 bowls so that's what I got. The portion for bowls is now disappointing. They put it in a single serving take out dish. I appreciate them not using plastic. But the bowls got soggy almost instantly. However we did split this between 2 adults and 2 kids and it was JUST enough to fill our bellies with the addition of some fruit. I had a pretty busy day ahead of me, so I placed an online lunch order before my morning meetings started -- two 2-entree plates with Orange Chicken, White Rice, Chow Mein, Mushroom Chicken and the Honey Sesame Chicken Breast. My husband really liked the pick-up from the self-service shelves. But when he got home, what we received was disappointing. Portions were quite small. Everything looked sad, dry and reheated. Nothing in our order looked freshly made. I'm convinced we got yesterday's leftovers. We both had more meetings after lunch so we didn't have time to go back. Coming to this location right when they open often has limited, unappetizing selections. But we've asked for our entrees to be made fresh which has always been accommodated. It takes a few more minutes, but worth the wait. Now it seems that they're using online pick-up orders to get rid of yesterday's leftovers. It's been almost a month since this experience and when I contacted Panda's "Guest Care" team. I'm yet to hear back. I have come three occasions with my kids each time it happened to be about a half an hour before they close and on each visit they were actually busy having at least 3 to 5 clients or more walking in while we were there but they don't have any food and quit making more 30 minutes before they close the owner tells him not to prepare any more food even though they're busy so you can't get what you want when you come in. In spite of the negative comments this location has taken, I did not see any of it during my visit. Must be one of those "spring loaded" people leaving those comments...Ha-ha-ha! I am not from the area, but I have relations living nearby. So instead of having them cook during my very short visit, I passed by this location to order the food to take with me. The staff were quick and helpful, and I was even greeted as I entered the place. Smiles are a most welcome commodity that a business can freely give - and it was given wholeheartedly. With a mask, you say? Come on...a smile can easily be seen in one's eyes too! Pandemic precautions were in place so I did not feel the need to be wary of anything. The dining area was cordoned off. Staff were masked and gloved. There were sanitizers available. And the restroom was clean - and only available for use one person at a time. The food is pretty much what Panda offers at all their locations. The taste is also the same as one can expect. Pretty great taste for the price! Give them a try. Service was awful. POS in the drive thru (I believe her name was Maylani) clearly hated her job, was rude, and unwilling to assist on a billing mishap. It is my girlfriends birthday so we order spring rolls which are free on your birthday, POS doesn't ring it up properly via the rewards app and charges it to our bill. When we say something about it she literally shrugged her shoulders and said idk. Super friendly staff and very clean. I arrived a few minutes after they had opened so some of the items weren't ready yet. The staff apologized and let me know that it would be 8 more minutes and asked if I minded waiting. I said I could wait and that it was fine. I come to this location when I am on my way to the lake. The employees are always nice and greet you well. The restaurant is always clean when I come in. Today when I came in they didn't have chow-mein and I was asked to wait about 5 min. I was in no rush so I waited and it wasn't too long. You can also order online so that your food is ready when you arrive. Or you also have the option of doing the drive-thru, that is the good thing about this location. Bathrooms: the women's bathroom has two stalls and they are clean and well stocked. Parking: they have a big parking for the whole plaza. There is always space to park because some of the shops aren't open everyday. If you see something you like but aren't sure if you would like it, you should ask for a sample. Food is what it is. It could be better, could be worse. It depends on what your expectations are going in. This 2-star review is mainly for the lack of consistency in portion size. When I go in, I expect the portions to be somewhat equal to the last time I came. Sadly when they are not, it's disappointing and I don't feel I'm getting my moneys worth. Which brings me to my next issue: super greens. I love the fact that they this option as a side. What I don't love is that they include very bottom of the cabbage that is inedible and takes up room that other veggies could included instead. Along with that, they do not cut their broccoli small enough to fit in your mouth. When they do this, they don't cook the broccoli long enough. Overall, definitely could be better. Hello everybody I have been going to this location for a while because I live in the city and it's very close and convenient I have encountered some really nice and friendly people at this place But today my experience has changed I noticed that the server used one small piece of chicken and cut it to pieces and put it in my plate and when I informed her that I usually get more than this, she immediately said that no, this is the usual portion I felt like she was talking to me like I'm a little child. I love the food but for some reason the staff has no pride in serving it hot or giving a decent quantity. I order half chow mein & half rice but I usually get 3/4 rice and 1/4 chow mein. My orange chicken and rice didn't even have a little bit of warmth to it. I stopped coming here for a while but decided to give them another chance. For a few months everything was fine but now they're back to the same old habits. Are they trained to give you skimpy portions? Ordered through drive thru and they didn't include the veggie spring rolls I ordered. Also the beef & broccoli ratio was terrible only one tiny piece of beef versus 10 broccoli. Had to waste gas to go back to have them fix the problem and get me a new plate which they did and yet forgot to include the sweet and sour sauce. Waste of time, money, and gas. I had a late night yen, so I headed to Panda Express at 8:45p on a Sunday, hoping they were still open. I made it just under the wire (they closed at 9p) and went thru the drive-thru. I'm always pleased with their Orange Chicken and was going to get a two-item meal, both items the Orange Chicken. BUT! I remembered they had just started serving the BBQ ribs, so I changed my mind and ordered the 2-item meal with the ribs and Orange Chicken. Also did half fried rice and half chow mein, and added a bag of crispy noodles. (I do want to say here that it drives me crazy PE calls their soft noodle stuff "chow mein." Every Chinese place I have ever been to calls that dish Lo Mein. Chow Mein is a US-created concoction of mixed veggies in a sauce, that may or may not have meat added, and is served over rice. Picture the Chung King cans one finds in a grocery store. So why then, does PE call their noodle stuff chow mein??? Are we not already confused by foreign foods without having ONE place muck it up even more by renaming dishes something they're not??? Drives me crazy! *lol*) ANYWAY... Both items were out, so I had to wait 7-8 minutes for them to be made. I felt sorry for them because I'm sure they hoped I would go with something they still had already made... But I wanted the OC and ribs and so I agreed to wait. All the better for me because if they had to make it, it would be fresh! Win! And guess what? Two cars behind me must have ordered the same because they were waived off to wait as well. Good. I didn't feel so bad then. Ok... So the Orange Chicken came thru with flying colours as usual. The chow/lo mein was fine. The fried rice, a little dry, and reminded me of why I usually get the chow/lo mein only. The ribs? A little puzzling for me to be honest. It seemed pretty peppery and had a flavour I wasn't expecting, and was a little odd. I'm not SURE what it was.... Maybe cinnamon? I love Chinese spare ribs in general... But PE has either put their own spin on a traditional favourite, or the cook was a little off that night. I can't say I loved or hated them. They just made my face scrunch up into a "what am I tasting here?" look. Overall, I got the things I was yenning for, I tasted something new and my late-night hunger was sated. Hmmm...I have been slacking on my reviews, but its because I am going to a Vegas Business Trip next week. I guess I can celebrate by taking myself to lunch at Panda Express. The location of this Panda Express is next to the Ralph's, Burger King, and Chase Bank. It is also across the McDonald's. This would help future drivers where to go if they are headed to San Francisco or people just stuck heading to Los Angeles. This Panda Express has a drive thru. I never had Chinese through a drive thru before. I guess I can mark that off my list with the list of Castaic places I have been to. When you order, they have huge pictures of the entrees, unlike the burger spots where they they just list the names and prices. I was greeted by Kayla right off the speaker. I guess I was little surprised to hear someone mention their name. Usually, its, "May I take your order?" That's great to say their name instead of a magical box., "Hi Kayla". I ordered the Two-Item Entree ($5.75). I had half and half with Orange Chicken and Broccoli Beef or I prefer saying this better, Beef Broccoli. My total was $6.31. The portion size is average, not packed like Mom and Pop type places. I still love their Orange Chicken which is always cooked right. However, when it comes to the Beef Broccoli, the broccoli is never cooked right. I am a fan of broccoli, but I didn't like it at ALL. I will have to visit more places in Castaic and I will be mayor soon...lol. Any suggestions?!
