Happened upon this place driving from the Bay Area down to LA. After having made it through the Grapevine, we were happy to find a place right off the freeway as we were hungry! We also weren't in the mood for typical fast food/burgers. WaBa Grill was the answer! The four of us split a Chicken Family Meal and it was a good amount of food, and was less expensive than buying four individual meals. It came with rice (we chose half brown rice, half white rice), steamed veggies, and teriyaki chicken. We also ordered a side of potstickers (which were a little soggy and didn't have the "crunch" that you expect in a potsticker). We enjoyed our meal, service was pleasant, and the restaurant was clean. It's not a super fancy place and nothing to write home about, but it was perfectly satisfying for what it is. read more

I have a gluten allergy that makes ordering a bit difficult usually but I went to pick up dinner last night through the drive through and was helped by Kenji. Even at the ordering station I was helped with all my questions, once I got to the window he genuinely went above and beyond checking the ingredients on the sauces for me, packing enough items, even packing the dumplings separate from my plate for my allergy. I did not feel rushed at all and ALL my concerns were answered, I am on the road often as I commute two hours a day for work and throughout all the places I go for food, I have never been helped as above and beyond as Kenji did! Definitely my best food service interaction I've ever had. Thank you so much! read more

First of all, I'm grateful to find a healthy fast food option in Castaic once again. There was a place that had opened prior to Covid that I would stop at as I passed through. And this restaurant is at the same strip mall near Starbucks. Very friendly service Love the food options Right now I'm enjoying a loaded miso soup, with tofu and their dumplings Pretty darn good for a quick bite to eat as you're traveling And I'm loving this playlist read more

Horrible service the lady in the drive through took my order and got it wrong. Tried to blame me for her error.

I KNOW you are lying!! I spent 27 bucks on two people. Staff is nice but the food is a mess. There's no reason why my potstickers should be soft, partially cooked and have burn on them from their grill. I had to fully cook them. So what was the point of paying for take out??? They Half ass put the lid on my plate on, almost dropped the entire plate!! There's not a lot of traffic at this location, they need to spend the time they have on the details. read more

extremely dissapointed everytime i order. The staff is always extremely short and impatient with me. As a vegetarian i really like this place for getting some protein, but this location always skimps on the tofu so i only get about 6-9 pieces for the entire bowl. This time they didn't even bother to cut it for me and barely ever give me a good amount of sauce. If Im paying 12$ for a bowl, then why is 80% of it just rice?? if you enjoy service that cares about your food do NOT go here. read more

Is it edible? Kinda... is it good? Let's just say Gordon Ramsay would NOT be pleased. Ordered a bunch of stuff: chicken & steak bowls, just chicken bowls, just steak bowls, and a salmon plate for me. It LOOKS good but tastes like amateur hour. Everyone ate about 1/4 of their food. The broccoli was impossible to eat; super hard and not cooked. My salad dressing was super sour. For the first time in my adult life I could not get myself eat the salad. I had to put mayonnaise yes, mayonnaise on my salmon to drown out the weird sauce and make the fish moist because it was so dry. It tasted so bad to us that my hubby went and got us Popeyes after. If you're one of those people who will eat absolutely anything, don't know how to cook or how Asian food should actually taste, or your tongue buds are fully broken, you might think it's okay. And that's good for you. But it's not for us. read more

I was really excited to see a fast food place that served Asian inspired food with a drive through. The employees were very friendly and even though they got my order wrong they were quick to fix the situation with no issues. The food however just wasn't good to me at all. The chicken was a bit chewy, the rice was gummy, and the miso soup was actually gross. It lacked flavor and had rice added to it. We also got the potstickers which were rubbery. Nothing here tasted fresh or well made. It all seemed microwaved. I may consider going back if I'm in a real pinch. But unfortunately this one is off the list for us. read more

I had a horrible meal given to me at McDonald's for $10 bucks. (Cold soggy fries and dried up soggy bun sandwich) I spent $6.00 at Waba for a great fresh delicious chicken taco and a 5 piece dumpling. It was so good. The girl at the window was so kind and helpful and it made all the difference. You won't be disappointed. 11:14am on 2/2/24 read more

Very unprofessional service, Not sure if he's the owner or just the manager but my 15 year old stopped by for lunch yesterday and apparently her card was declined, she asked if he could please try it again, and he loudly in front of other customers said "NO, DECLINE IS DECLINE" She of course left, went straight to Starbucks and used her declined card that worked just fine. The issue here is that I made this comment to an old employee of this waba grill and she said that they've always had this issue with cards being declined. It's just Poor service that he wasn't willing to try her card one more time. It wasn't only unprofessional but also very rude to make someone feel uncomfortable and embarrassed like that! read more

The service is decent, the food is what it is. It's fast food. I have been going here since they opened and it was good. The staff keeps changing, this is an issue as what used to be attentive and felt caring is now more of hi, I'm here, what do you want? Even that doesn't bother me, I asked nicely for no waba sauce on my waba bowl and the counter person looked at me and said okay the proceeded to put waba sauce on my food. read more

Went here a couple nights ago. Good service and pretty good food. I ordered Waba (steak and chicken) over white rice. You can choose from brown rice, white rice, and veggies! The sauce was a little sweet on top. The portions were big and affordable! Potstickers were not good :( They were soggy and unpleasant. Overall pretty good experience and I would come back! Food is very good. It's in the sauce. Very convenient location with a lot of parking and has a drive thru. I always order online in advance cause food does take a while to make since it's made to order. Food has always been consistent. Order is mostly made accurately. They did make a mistake on my last order by not adding the extra meat I ordered. Reached out online about it and the manager/owner reached out to apologize and offer a refund. I understand that people make mistake but the customer service was outstanding and they took accountability. That is always appreciated. read more

Love the food at this place salmon is served and chicken well cooked the chef knows his stuff

Love it, always satisfied. Their food is amazing. But sometimes they slack a little to long to get your food but it's good never had an issue. Only just the wait takes pretty long 30-40 min and thats drive thru. read more

Waba Grill serves healthy food at a reasonable cost and it's almost as convenient as a fast-food joint. They offer rice bowls, rice and veggie bowls, plates, and salads. You select a protein: chicken, beef, salmon, shrimp, or tofu. The most common item is the chicken bowl and that's what I ordered. The chicken has an even amount of teriyaki sauce on top. The chicken bowl comes with dark meat and you can replace it with white meat for an extra cost. The dark meat chicken was good and moist. The chicken is much better than Flame Broiler's chicken. An issue I have with the bowls is that they only come in one size. The staff was very friendly. Everyone made an effort to make sure that we had a good experience. It made our quick dining experience much more enjoyable. read more

worker was VAPING while working at the front, proceeded to touch my food after hitting it in front of me. disgusting.

Really surprised and disappointed. I've been to other locations so I was expecting way better. The floors were so disgusting and dirty. There was literally dried sauce all over and up the bottom of the door. It obviously has been there a while. They were understaffed. Plenty of cooks and people in the back but the girl up front needed help. And someone needed to clean the lobby and tables. They were dirty also. My food took forever to be ready, maybe because it sat for about 10 min until I finally went and said something. The salmon portion was a very thin piece of fish . It all tasted ok, I was just so turned off by everything else... I doubt I will be back. read more

Finally tried WaBa Grill. Very disappointing I had salad with "special house dressing" it was a tub of ranch. Wow, first time here and incredibly impressed. Hot, fresh, never frozen and very healthy. Great portions and you ca truly taste the quality in every bite! Being a restauranteur myself I can truly appreciate this concept and all the hard work that's gone into it. It's not always easy to maintain the quality of food that has to be delivered daily to keep it so fresh. Customer service was perfect; greeted me upon entry, explained the menu and concept in detail and made sure I was completely happy. Make sure to ask for Sunny the manger and he's sure to take great care of you. This is by far one of the best stops you can make traveling up or down the 5 freeway and I just found out they have 135 other locations from here to San Diego! I definitely have a new favorite heathy choice spot! Thanks for the great service Sunny! read more

A nice surprise just off the freeway! This place reminds me very much of a Flame Broiler. I think the value here might be a little better. Food is up to par, but probably not as great as Flame Broiler, but the portions and selection are definitely better.
