I remember when I was a teen/young adult, Carls Jr. was one of my favorite drive thru places. As an adult, it's just gone downhill so much. The good thing about this location is it's right off the freeway, so if you need to make a quick pit stop it's convenient. But beyond that, it's just not good. First of all the food is so overpriced, even their "deals" aren't good, and they usually include the lowest quality version of their offerings. Second the freshness of the food is very hit or miss. As with most fast food, if it's not fresh it's hard and almost inedible. The only thing that is consistently good (when fresh) is their hand battered chicken strips. Everything else is just meh. read more

I got a coupon in the mail a 5 pieces chicken strips combo that includes a drink and regular French fries for $6.99. I handed the lady my coupon and paid ASAP. We got our food my son and I I tried the chicken strips they were not as HOT as I would like them to be... so I tasted one and returned the rest bc they weren't HOT and FRESH and I liked them to be when I eat them. They remade the chicken strips, after finishing our meal there for my son and I. I am on the toilet rn writing this review!!!!!! The bathrooms always smell like PEE & POOP EVERY SINGLE TIME. Probably a hot spot for the homeless bc it has this NASTY RAUNCHI STANK SMELLS LIKE A ANDY DUMP PORTAL POTTY IN THE WOMANS BATHROOM. THIS PLACE IS BEYOND DISGUSTING!!!!!!! IF U WANT FOOD POISONING, DO NOT COME HERE. This place gave me DAAAAAAAAAA RRRRRRRRUUUUUUUNNNNNSSSS!!!!!!!!!! TOO GREASYYYYYYYYYYYYYY read more

terrible service from Juda 7/10/2026. After i payed for my food he refused to allow me to use the restroom. I will be contacting your corporate as he told me to "use the gas station across the street". Rude and unprofessional. read more

I visited this Carl's Jr. on 09/20/2025 with my kids and had a coupon for a free kids meal that came directly from their school. When I tried to use it, the cashier flat-out refused to accept it, saying it was "expired" because it had a trademark date of 2021 at the bottom. That is NOT an expiration date, and anyone should know the difference. What made it worse was how rude the employee was. Instead of politely explaining or checking with a manager, she dismissed me with an attitude and made me feel like I was trying to get away with something. This coupon was given to kids through the school as a reward -- denying it not only confused my child but completely ruined the experience. It's one thing to make a mistake, but it's another to treat customers rudely. A kids meal isn't going to hurt the company, but the poor customer service will definitely keep me from coming back to this location. read more

This is the most horrible business of all time!! They seriously mess up your order every single time and when you try to call them, their phone is busy! They hire people who are seriously not qualified to even work at a dollar tree!! This is crazy bad service!! Go eat at 7-11 over this crap!! read more

This morning I passed through the drive thru to buy breakfast. The meat of my burger was raw, I couldn't return because I had to go to work. I don't ever get raw food but the reason for this review is that I hope next time the employees will be more careful and ensure whatever is served is in expected quality. read more

Guy on the headset tried to give me a watery milkshake, then popped an attitude when I gave it back and said I didn't want it. He tried to tell me that's how all the milkshakes are, and that I'd get less milkshake if it wasn't that watery. He must think I'm slow and for as much as that milkshake was, in my opinion he shoulda got to hand shaking it had he wanted to me take it so bad. Unreal. To be honest even as he was taking my order he was short, rude and impatient. read more

A location immediately off the 5. The restaurant is large and spacious and also has a patio with seats. The women's bathroom was obviously well used with full bins and one stall out of order, but it smelled okay and things functioned. As for the food, we ordered fast and had food in 5 minutes. Everything was hot, fresh, tasty, and correct. My charbroiled chicken club had a perfectly cooked chicken breast and the fried zucchini were a rare treat for me. My husband's hamburger combo with fries were fine. read more

Horrible. The female working the drive-through on 11/12/15 at 5:30pm should be moved to cleanup. Horrible. I gave my order at the drive-through and I had to repeat it several times. She did not repeat the order and when I asked where she went, she rudely said, "just drive up". The place was practically empty. She made our shakes and then spent all her time talking up the line cook, clearly that was more important than customers. When she gave me order, I learned she did not take down my complete order (remember she disappeared at the drive-through and cut me off while ordering). She asked if I wanted to wait and I said no because I was so put out. She slammed the slider door and left. How rude. Horrible customer service. This is the ONE and ONLY time I will ever stop at the Castaic Carl's Jr. Horrible customer service and not worth my business. -Listen up Manager! You're doing a terrible job and your employees are just as bad. read more

Evelin was awesome. Bright and cheery. We have no bread diet because we are on a keto diet and she recommended the burger wrap which was perfect for us. The place is standard like most Carl Juniors and the menu is mixed. I was excited to find out if it looks like the picture. But the patty was about a tiny 1/4" thick. We got the special buy one get a second one for a dollar. Didn't help. I wanted pickles ... They were out. I wanted grilled onions. Not offered. The beef was also dry. None of this reflects on the great customer service of the ladies. They rock. read more

Comically expensive. $17 for a burger fry combo at a drive through? Get real. Terrible value for money.

Updating my 1 star review to a 4 star because this location has fixed the problem! Earlier this year the Castaic location switched from a human to an AI to take your order at the drive thru. This was frankly infuriating. For one thing, it didn't always work right. Also, I just do not want to talk to a f-ing robot. Well I'm guessing they saw a drop in business because they have discontinued the AI and are back to employing humans. Yay! Also, they are back to offering more than one dipping sauce for the fried zucchini. In the past they actually denied me when I asked for a second ranch dressing. Like wtf?!? Not anymore tho - I have had no problem getting the 2nd one lately. Sometimes they even offer it without me asking first. read more

Horrible horrible service. Management is non existent. Driving to San Francisco from Los Angeles we stopped to get burgers. I asked for extra secret sauce for my Famous Star burger. Get my burger and it's bone dry!! It's almost like I asked for no sauce. Go back to ask for the sauce with my burger on hand and receipt on other, showing "extra special sauce" and the woman who appears to be the manager walks to back and gets a big sauce bag. Pours the sauce and gives to another employee to hand to me. Not only did we wait 15 mns to be serviced when nobody else was waiting. Seems they are overwhelmed with the drive through orders. Place is a mess! Wasn't even busy and the dining room had a table with dirty table the whole time we were there Skip this place and stop elsewhere read more

I have NEVER had horrible service like what I just experienced! The print on the receipt is faded and all that I am able to make out as to the name of the cashier is Hil--l-sa. He is THE RUDEST PERSON I have ever dealt with! I ordered 2 California Classic Combos which are $5.99 each. I told him when I placed the order that I want regular size when he asked me what size. He said that regular is unavailable with the combo and I said fine whatever size comes with the combo. He said Medium. I got to the window and he said the total was $19 and some change. I asked him for the California Classic Combo? He said that is not what I ordered, I told him that is EXACTLY WHAT I ordered! He gave me attitude as he walked away. He came back and told me the total of $13 something. He then handed me the drinks. When he handed me the food I asked for Ranch, he said they don't have ranch. I asked for house dressing. He said "We don't have that here." I asked him, "You don't?" He said no as he closed the window on me! What the hell kind of way is that to treat a customer? I know Carl's Jr has house dressing that is ranch! I have been able to get it each time I come to this location and now I have some guy that gives me an attitude because he tried to charge me more for my order and I called him on it! Is he ripping customers off? Fire him! read more

Drive thru: asked for ranch and the guy said "we don't have ranch". They have been out for 3 months? When I said that, he said do not come. I said what, and he said "don't f**cking them." I can't believe someone would say that. This kid needs to be fired! I live in the area and I will not be back until he is no longer there. I have noticed a drop in people who are there! Maybe the owners will notice? Thanks, Chris M. read more

June 20, 7:00pm, Castaic, CA. A nitwit guy was relieving another worker at the drive thru window and handed me my bag. I asked what was inside and he read the order and just repeated what he read. Got home to find out I was shorted an order of fries. The worst part was that the food was hideous. I have usually liked Carl's Jr. over the other fast food places, so I was very disappointed with the order. The sandwiches were sloppily put together, way over-mayonaised, and shriveled down the size of a McDonald's cheesburger. The Western Bacon and Chicken Club used to be premium decent sized sandwiches. All-in-all, a very disappointing dinner. First time I had indigestion in a long time. Either the quality of Carl's Jr. has gone way down, or this particular one in Castaic is just crappy. In any case, it will be a long while before go to another Carl's Jr. read more

DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! I would give this place no stars if I could. Ordered drive through. All of the burgers were completely smashed and tasted horrible, although, the famous star burger that we got was made completely wrong which is when I decided to drive back and go inside to ask for my money back. No one should be stuck with a paid burger that is made completely wrong. The employees argued with me about how the famous star was correct but it had no onions and no tomato. The manager Carmen and employee Julian and other employee there refused to give me my money back for an uneaten burger that was not made the right way. They were all extremely rude and never bothered to apologize. THE CARL'S JUNIOR HERE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR FOOD. EAT AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! read more

On our way home and just pulled off the highway to grab some dinner. I stopped in tonight because my truck was giving me issues and had time to kill while I waited for a tow truck. The food here didn't taste right. I got a Big Carl. The lettuce was all wilted. The burger didn't taste right and the sauce didn't taste the same as when I got this a year or so ago. The bun was a little dry and crumbly. Overall it wasn't good. I did give them 2 stars though since I explained that I walked there about 1/2 mile could I get a little larger water and I think she gave me a small instead of the usual kids cup.
