I have no issue with this restaurant or the employees that tried to help me, my gripe is with the corporate website and trying to order online. I was staying at a local hotel and decided to use the online option to save time at the restaurant by ordering online. I went through the process and submitted my order. There was no error message or confirmation number. I was just returned to a screen that looked like the same screen where I submitted my order. Thinking that I did something wrong, I checked everything and re-submitted. Same result. Now I don't know if my order went through or went through twice so I walked over to the restaurant. I went to the On Line order pick up station and was told that they had no record of the order and was asked if I had an E-Mail confirmation. I did not so I had to get in line and re-order. Second bad experience I've had with panda Express in the last month, unfortunately same experience as my last at a totally different location. I went to order food it was 1030 and they only had 3 sides available all others had a 10 minute wait, not gonna wait an extra 10 minutes in a line I had already been in for almost 10 min not a very good drive thru time. Can I just say how ridiculous all of these comments about COVID-19 are? You are all lucky they are open and reduced the prices for food to make it more affordable. But no, instead here we will complain how the bathroom is closed to prevent further spread of the disease and we will complain how the employees are wearing masks and gloves to protect customers from unnecessary infection. Does it mean they are sick? No! It literally means the company cares about the customers and also cares about their employees. These people are coming to work to feed you and you have nothing better to do than judge these people. And then we will also go on to complain about the fact that Panda is following the proper no more than ten people at a time in an establishment rule. LOL. Worst panda place ever. Don't come here... so, we ordered our food. Waited like 5 minutes before they even started putting in the food. So what's happens the drive through is getting everything while inside people are getting ignored. So finally they start to get the food but run out of every item we ordered. I usually eat at this location a couple times a month because I work right down the street but not anymore. I went through the drive through today and placed an order for 1 drink and 1 bowl (chowmein/super greens and kung pao chicken). After I had already paid I was given my drink and asked to pull around to the front to wait for my food. I was not informed when I was ordering that there would be a wait. The reason for pulling around to the front was that the parking spaces designated for waiting were already full of other people waiting. I waited 20 minutes outside (not an exaggeration, I checked the time on my receipt) and still no bowl so at this point I went inside to ask about my food. The cashier went to check then came back and said they were waiting on greens. I said it had already been 20 minutes and that I was done waiting. I asked for a refund on my order. The cashier went to get Jennifer, the Manager. Jennifer asked me where my drink was... I drank it while I was sitting in my car in the parking lot for the last 20 minutes. Jennifer tells me she is not giving me a refund for the drink then, only the bowl. Seriously! I left the store still needing to go get lunch somewhere else with what was left of my lunch break. I called the survey number on my receipt thinking that at some point during the call I would have an opportunity to speak to real person and file a complaint but after about a 10 minute call it never happened. Awful service here. First off, they were out of three things we asked for, it was not due to covid, they just said the items would take awhile to be done so poor preparation. The person over drive thru was rude and to top it off, they got our order wrong and forgot one of the plates we bought. This is the worst panda in Bakersfield. We went through the drive thru and did not check our order until we got home. The chow mein was full of cabbage with very little noodles. This is the only Panda that Charges you an extra $1.25 for the Shanghai steak without giving much of the steak. Poor management! Stay away. read more

I have to say, first that I love Panda Express and so grateful for their drive through. We have gone through several of their places around Bakersfield but recently we have been visiting the one on Merle Haggard Road. One of my fav dishes is the green bean chicken. This visit yesterday was disappointing. Everything else with the meal was great...but there were two very small pieces of chicken in the green beans. Hope that's not their standard from now on. I'll visit again next week and see what happens. I'm hoping it was just an over site because their drive thru was so busy. read more

This is the first review I've ever left for any restaurant and I have to leave one for this location as a warning to other consumers. It's been a few times that I've gone to this restaurant and their rice tastes hard and old. But I truly could forgive that if they offered a better customer service experience. The girls that work here are extremely rude. They can't be bothered to say hello or answer a question you might have. I always ask for chili sauce and it's been twice that they've told me it's inside and I get home to find that there's one packet or none at all. Now, that's my fault; I should be checking before I drive off. However I ALWAYS feel like I'm rushed there and like I'm bothering them to do their job. No big deal. but then the girl that is helping me out (I think she was in charge since she didn't have an apron just a black jacket) says out loud to the cashier "did she throw money after yelling at you?" Absolutely horrible! Asked for half and half steamed white rice and chow mein and there it is as pictured! Thick layer of white rice on the bottom and a little handful my toddler could probably fit in his whole hand and still have room for more. So disappointed since I was really looking forward to it. This Particular store is a hit and miss. Today I got my black pepper chicken through the drive-through handed to me without a bag but a napkin and a fork and a little entree box. I will not be going to this particular location again. Every time I go they always screw up on something. The first time they screwed up is when they forgot to give me one of my meals. I even asked the lady in the drive thru if everything was there and she told me yes. I had to go in and get my order. It was a good thing I checked before I drove off. The second time I went there orange chicken tasted old like if it had been sitting there all day. Then today they messed up my order I asked for white rice and chow mein but I got fried rice which I think is nasty but I was already home and didn't feel like driving back so lost out on my food. I've gone a couple times on my lunch through the drive thru and the reason why I'm giving one star is because every time I pull up to the window after they hand me my food, and they walk away so I have to wait until they realize I'm still there to ask for soy or chili sauce. They give me attitude and hand me one of each and get upset when i ask for a couple more of each. The girls that work the drive are very rude and just try to get rid of you without asking if you need any condiments. Another time when I asked for an extra sweet and sour sauce they got upset and proceeded to give me an almost empty small container of it. I went through the drive through today. When I got to the window the girl working the window was very rude. When she handed me my food I asked her for sweet and sour and soy sauce. She told me they were already in the bag and slammed the window shut. As I drove away I looked in the bag and it was not in there, and I was missing something I had ordered. Where do I start....went to this location on Merle Haggard Drive around 9:10p.m. (Website states it closes at 10p.m.) on 2/1/19. I placed an order for two bigger plates through the drive thru., 3 different entrees on each plate. I get home, inspect the plates, and come to the realization that they messed up both plates. First of all, both plates had really cold, dry food...as if they had given us the leftovers for the night, despite us having gone at 9:10, and the restaurant closing at 10. Next thing I noticed was one of the plates had a repeat entree, despite me having ordered 3 different entrees for each of the bigger plates. The other plate only had chow mein, even though I had ordered 1/2 and 1/2 on both plates. I immediately took a look at my receipt to verify if they had indeed taken my order correctly, which they had. I called the location around 9:50p.m. and asked to speak to a manager. The person who picked up the phone stated they were a manager. I explained the situation and asked her if I should take the order back to get them exchanged, or wait until the next day since we live 15 miles away, and to my understanding the restaurant closes at 10, which this "manager" verified. She told me since it was so late, to simply go the next day, and take the receipt. I go the next day and explain that I had called the previous night about a wrong order, I tell them my name, show them the receipt, and the worker goes to call someone who says they are the restaurant manager. The manager rudely presents himself by saying "yes what's wrong?" In a very unpolite manner and tone. I kindly explain the situation that I had explained through the phone to the night manager. This is when he sneers and says that there was no other manager there except him the previous night(whose name apparently is Kevin) I don't understand why the person who answered the phone the previous night lied and said they were a "manager". This aggravated me a little, but I still went on to explain that the night "manager" had told us to go the next day, and to simply present a receipt and they would give us fresh, new orders. The manager, Kevin, scoffed and said that we had to bring the old plates in order to get them replaced. The night manager never stated that we had to bring the old plates back. The previous night I had taken pictures of both plates, just in case they asked for them the next day, but apparently Kevin wanted both the plates back. He even jested that at "Walmart you must take an item back, in order for it to be replaced". This attitude and response aggravated me even more. Not only is this "manager" a joker and so unprofessional, but was demanding we relinquish the plates from the previous night, in order to get new plates. First of all....Really??? The night manager never told us to take the plates back!!! Second, we had even asked if we could take the plates the previous night, but the night manager said no, to just go the next day and simply present the receipt, not take the plates. Third, my husband and I were really hungry that night, and we were not about to go out and buy more food after having driven a long distance, and it being so late at night. So naturally we ate the plates. This manager Kevin, jested even more and said that we shouldn't have eaten the food, and had brought the plates back. And went back to the rhetoric about how at Walmart, you need to take the item back, in order to get it replaced. In the end, I guess we were wasting his time to the point where he exclaimed "Fine! I'll replace your order this time, but next time I will remember your face!" Seriously....what the ****?! I've eaten at Panda Express locations for years, and had never experienced such a grotesque and unpleasant situation. I am disappointed, and I will not be going to this location again. I came here around 11 today. I got a bowl with orange chicken and fried rice to go. When took the lid off the bowl I could immediately tell the chicken was not fresh. All of the chicken was incredibly hard. I could not eat any of it so I threw it all out and just ate the rice. It was really frustrating because I liked going to this Panda Express because the drive through was very convenient, but the past few times I've gone some of the chicken was really hard. I finally asked this last time to put sauce on the chicken and she studdered around like it was impossible, then gives you a side of sauce that's barely 1/4 of the way full.
