I hadn't eaten at a Farmer Boys in many years, but this particular location was in close proximity to a hotel I happened to be staying at in Bakersfield, so I thought I'd give it a try. I was very pleasantly surprised. The place was whistle clean and nice inside. The lady at the counter was very friendly and suggested that I might consider trying one of the specials, so I ordered the "Big Cheese Box". First time to this location and honestly first time back to a farmer boys in years! I ordered a Hog Heaven breakfast burrito combo with Onion rings and a Diet Coke. The food was great! The burrito was fresh the portion was good. Those were some of the freshest and biggest onion rings I've ever had. Was it worth $25 for one meal alone? Probably not. "Great Bacon Burger, Massive Zucchini Sticks, and Super Fast/Friendly Service!" We stopped at the Farmer Boys in Bakersfield on the way to the airport today, and it turned out to be a really good meal. I usually stop at the Panda , Mcdonalds,Subway or Burger King. The Bacon Boy cheeseburger hit the spot--great flavor, fresh toppings, and that classic Farmer Boys taste. I just wish the patties were a bit thicker, I cant see how this is a 1/2 pound burger but honestly, everything still came together perfectly. The zucchini sticks were massive--crispy, golden, but lacking flavor, the 2 ranch cups did a great job giving it flavor.. Easily one of the highlights of the meal for all of us as they were too massive not to share.. The family loved their burgers including the kids cheeseburger and the veggie burger. four adults and two kids, the price was ok , right in line with other family spots around town but still around $80. The service was great, The young woman Hali at the counter was super friendly and helpful with our order, and our food runner was just as sweet--she made sure everything came out hot and fresh off the grill. It's easy to see why this spot should get four‑star ratings. The country decor addas to the experience. We'll definitely be back next time we're by the Bakersfield airport. My server was decent, that is the only good thing about this place. No atmosphere in a drive through. My Omelet was cold. Did not have the vegetables in it that the picture showed. The hashbrowns were undercooked. All in all, a terrible place to eat. This is my second time there and my last. I highly recommend you avoid the place. read more

I had to leave a review because we were so impressed by this location. It took a little time to get our food through the drive through because they were making it fresh. The burgers and fries were hot and delicious! I went in to use the restroom while my husband waited for our food and the restroom was so clean It was shocking to me the restaurant was very clean as well and the staff was very friendly. I Picked Up a Farmers Omelette on the way home from work the other morning. It didn't disappoint. The Staff was very friendly, as i called it in while driving their way. Walked in, PAID then the food cane out!!! Perfect timing!! Store was very clean and Lit up. Lots of wall Decor. Only downfall would be the price of this. $20 bucks is too much. Needs to get around $13-$15 range. Traffic would pick up around there if pricing was competitive. People Love Fresh food at a Decent price. Solid 8. read more

Better than your average "fast food" place. That being said, because they don't start your order until you order it, the drive-thru wait is a bit longer than usual. I don't mind because their food is good and definitely fresh. This is a new location, though farther out of my way. Very clean & nice. The drive-thru person was very friendly. I ordered their 3 egg burrito. It's a beefy boy, full of eggs, bacon or sausage (I ordered the bacon this time), hashbrowns and pico de Gallo. Also, I ordered their vanilla iced coffee. I had them add lots of ice & extra regular coffee as it is a bit too sweet for my taste. It Is filling and yummy. Wish we had more locations. read more

Finally went to Farmer Boys after not going for at least 10 years. Last time we had it was in Tulare. This new location on Merle Haggard was very nice and clean. We went for lunch and it was steadily busy. We ordered the chicken strip meal and the double cheeseburger. Fries were hot and crispy. The chicken was good. My hubby said his burger was really good. Very juicy $7.50 Big Cheese burger with lots of lettuce, tomato and onion, along with a 1,000 island sauce (relish & mayo), plus I added avocado $2.50. And I had a 16 ounce fresh squeezed OJ $5. Kern County produces a huge amount of produce, so it makes sense to eat here, although I suspect the burger would have tasted better without the sauce. Nice clean new booths & tables or drive-thru. Well went to go try the new place tonight and was really disappointed. The chicken sandwich I ordered didn't come with chicken and to top it off it had a hair in it. I was completely grossed out. My husbands burger was a dry. When i told them yes I wanted my food remade they brought it back out 5 minutes later if that and the chicken wasn't even warm. The bread was toasted to perfection, the ingredients all tasted fresh and the fries were the best ever! If it were just the 3 burgers I wouldn't go back.... Not bad, just really underwhelming. The staff was great. But the bad part was the price.... My order costs $86!!! Insane! And for that I will probably never go again. I stopped on my way to Las Vegas. Can't say much about the locale since I went through the drive through, but the building itself was nice. This is a late review as my visit to Farmer Boys was last June. My wife went through the drive thru and ordered a cheese burger and fries for me. When she got home and I opened my order, I had a cheeseburger with bacon. I looked at the receipt and I was charged for a burger with cheese, bacon and avocados minus the avocados. I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager who asked me to bring it back and they'd make it right. I told him I wasn't going to drive three miles back there to get back the extra money they charged me. I'm disappointed that they up charged me for something I didn't order. I go to other Farmer Boys in various locations, but this location price gouging people because its close to the airport. I ordered three combos on Christmas Eve cost me over $50. Yet, I went to another fast food restaurant and it was $28 for three combos make it make sense. Do not purchase anything around the Bakersfield Airport. 10/07/2024 Went to the 7th standard location for the first time. Ordered a double cheeseburger with bacon meal for $18, a bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions and a chili cheese fries no onion. Everything was supposed to have no raw onion ( excluding the grilled onions on my bacon cheeseburger) . Everything had raw onions, both burgers and the chili cheese fries. For a family that hates onions this was the worst. This was our first and last experience with them. The ambiance of this restaurant is decent and clean. I came in to have a quick lunch and ordered their grilled chicken club sandwich. I got my food served on my table within 10 minutes. To get straight to the point, the chicken that was supposed to be grilled however came tasting like it was just heated in a microwave. Chicken meat was tough and very mildly warm. The bacon in the sandwich was also tough and seem to have been seating for a long time. There is no taste of freshness in this sandwich. Because I was in a hurry and have to catch a flight I didn't have time to return the sandwich for a refund. I know it's just $14 bucks w/ tax for a sandwich only without a drink and fries. Hey they are expensive and I would not go back to this place. I am giving a one star because of the decent ambiance. Their grilled chicken club is not grilled. Don't waste your money here. read more

We got into Bakersfield after a long drive and saw this place across from our hotel. There were a lot of choices in the area but we opted for something new and so glad that we did. They had Chick-fil-A level customer service and were so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. We all ordered something different (Cobb salad, bacon boy burger, chicken tenders, fried, zucchini sticks) Everyone in the family was really happy with what they got and we ate it all. Sadly Farmer Boys is WAY too overpriced. I recently gave Farmer Boys a second chance after having not had in about 10 years and sadly was still extremely disappointed. The food is alright and the customer service nice, but it's extremely overpriced and you could get a better meal at a sitdown restaurant for the same price. I hadn't been to Farmer Boys in years, so I decided to try this one that just opened up fairly close to me. I ordered a bacon breakfast burrito combo with fries and a soda. The service was very friendly, the food took a minute but I didn't mind because it was made to order. The burrito was pretty small, with bland hash browns and very little bacon. It looked like something you could make at home, but didn't taste nearly as good. The fries were okay, decent size but nothing special. The Pepsi was overly sweet, more syrupy than carbonated. I probably would have gone back to try a burger at some point if it hadn't been ridiculously expensive. Not even close to being worth the $20.34 it cost. You can get a lot more, better tasting food and lot of other places. Definitely wouldn't recommend. read more

Ordered at 8:50, they close at 10. When I got there it looked like only 1 person was working there. I ordered their bbq crunch double and the big cheese burger. The bbq crunch didn't have any crunch... they actually didn't put any onion straws. It comes with onion straws and the picture on the menu very well shows it, very odd item to leave out of the burger. The big cheese burger didn't have any pickles. That one I think I can understand because they're just pickles and can be hidden/forgotten about a lot easier than onion straws. Not terrible, just weird misses. They also claim to have award winning burgers and it absolutely did not taste like it. Mid burgers. Also the prices were definitely above average. This is my 2nd time at this new location. My first time I was told to pull around only to have my order forgotten about and brought out cold. I was given a $5 coupon and decided to give it a another try yesterday. This time the lady taking the order was rude and condescending when asked what came on a burger she sounded as if I was putting her out because I had a question. After ordering my burger with no tomato, onion and thousand island dressing (due to an allergy) I pulled up to the window paid and watched as who I assume was the shift manager check the burgers and then the order tag and place the burgers in a bag and hand to the window attendant to give to us, before driving away I checked my burger to see it was wrong everything I asked to be removed was still on it. I returned it to the woman explaining it was wrong. I was told to drive around, I did and since I was forgotten my first visit decided to go in, as I entered I noticed the guys on the food line attempting to take the items off my burger, the shift manager saw me and told them no remake it. The line worker placed everything back on the burger and placed it on a tray and had it delivered to one of the officers seated at the tables. (To me this was unsanitary and unprofessional since the burger had now been handled by 5 people, including myself who was not wearing gloves), I proceeded to stand there for another 10 minutes waiting for my burger to be made, after waiting the 10 minutes the girl at the counter ask the food line where the remake was, only to be looked at confused she told them she needed the remake burger that was incorrect, they told her they would make it now. So I waited some more. During this time the shift manger not once came to speak with me to offer apology for screwing up another visit, which he was aware of since he had to authorize the $5 off given during our previous visit. I felt as if he intentionally avoided me even, walking in the back, not making eye contact, grabbing a broom twice to sweep the same spot anything to avoid accepting responsibily for the mess up. My biggest confusion is how is it that 3 line cooks, and a manger handled my burger to check for accuracy and yet it was still incorrect, by the time I got the replacement and got home my drink was watered down due to all the ice melting, and my other food was cold. Thanks for another unsatisfactory visit. I highly recommend training your staff better, especially if they expect to be paid a minimum of $20 an hour. If I could give no stars I would. read more

Went through the drive through today and my cashier was Jamison from what my receipt says, it seemed he was the only one as he was going back and forth from the window to the front register. Dealing with both drive thru and the inside he was still very polite and explained menu items to me with no problem and him and the cooks still got my order fast.
