Pan dulce is one of my favorite breads to eat. This bakery has tasty pan that reminded me of my favorite bakeries that are not in Fresno. A little pricy but worth it. I love in Northwest Fresno and drive there just for their vegan puerquitos and vegan chocolate donuts. The pumpkin empanadas are delicious!!

I didn't get to try the bread 3 lil pieces was $10 over price! I understand inflation is really bad but you can't charge $3.50 for a lil piece of bread ! I don't recommend this place !! Environment is kind of heavy !! read more

I've recently stopped into Panaderia Oaxaca though I've passed it many times. I typically make my own deserts but being that I've been working a lot and going into work on my day off wasn't pleasant but since the company was providing a luncheon I thought it would be nice to pick up a Flan to match the luncheon meal. Anyway, I went in looked around thought wow their conchas are a bit smaller than I'm used to seeing but then I seen the flan slices and proceeded to ask the cashier if they had any full size flans for sale? She went to ask someone came back asking by when did I need the flan. I told her by tomorrow and she continued to say well we usually need a week notice and for it to be prepaid at the time of ordering but they would make an exception and have one made for me. I was so happy to hear this UNTIL I asked how big it was to which she only shaped out something with her hands that lead me to believe it would be possibly a L6 X W4 or 6, I thought well kind of small but ok at least I will be taking something. So the girl said I would have to pay in advance and I said ok how much would it be? It shocked me when she said.....$60! I looked at her and said Wow $60 for flan, that's crazy!! I told her never mind that was extremely high for flan. Now I know this review isn't what one would expect over a Mexican pastry but being a Mexican/American woman who once cooked everything I also know this dessert literally consist of 4-5 ingredients that cost no more than $10 and oven time. For me hearing a flan at any size to cost $60 is a total rip off to their customers especially those not knowing. I did however travel to a Panaderia on Tulare St & Cedar only 15 min drive on freeways or 20 min by street it's called La Estrella Bakery. They had flan made on hand approx. 10-12 inches round and guess what it only costed $18 dollars out the door!!!! After the $60 ordeal I ended up buying 2 flans and still saved money for other types of pan dulces. So as many rave on this Oaxaca bakery, I'm glad you all found a good experience there, especially those seeking vegan as I would have to agree I'm not sure many Panaderias do vegan pastries at least none that I've come across. I also had to bring to light that they are over charging on regular pastries like a flan for $60. Even The Vallarta supermarket is possibly cheaper. I stopped by here yesterday morning. Due to Covid the staff gets your pan after you choose what you want. No worries. I got the jelly roll and a pumpkin empanada. Each were 2.50$ I have never walked out of a pan dulce bakery with only 2 items, but the prices stopped me from trying other items. I tried the jelly roll first. It was small and very dry. It had no flavor. Then I tried the empanada. It was very soft and almost warm like it was freshly made but small as well. As much as I love pumpkin empanadas, I can't see myself going back to this place and buying another one. The prices do not match the quality or size. Im an avid pan dulce buyer. I didn't just "drop in" to this bakery. They had a lot of items. I saw rice pudding, flan and other Mexican pastry favorites and normally when I go to new places I try it all but the prices are just to high here. read more

Omg! Delicious! I have wanted to stop by this bakery for a while but today I happen to drive past it and knew I had to stop. The bakery was on the smaller side but they're maximizing their space and I can appreciate that. Let me just start out by saying this place has the absolute most delicious pink twist breads like hands down they took me back to my childhood when people would drive through the neighborhood with pan and you'd run out of your house to get your hands on some. They were so soft and fresh. I thought Vallarta had pretty good pan but after trying cafe Oaxaca I will never get my pan there again. Sometimes pan has flakes of cinnamon sticks on the dough and it always throws me off, this bakery's bread was velvety smooth. The person that helped us had such a calm, helpful energy it was so nice. I will be telling many many people about this bakery. Absolutely worth a visit!! read more

Came here on a whim, it had been awhile since I'd been here, and they're just as awesome as i remember. Very friendly service, the gentleman who assisted me today was very patient with my indecisive kiddos. I liked that they were the ones to select and bag my items. The selection process is easy, all their items are easily viewable in a clear display case and each item is numbered, so even if you don't know the name of the item you want, you can just ask by item number. I chose a rebanada, a cherry empanada, a mango empanada, and my kids picked a watermelon style cookie. Very delicious, i loved the rebanada and the cherry empanada. I also got a strawberry horchata and I really enjoyed that too, it wasn't too sweet like some horchata drinks can be. Hope to be back soon! read more

The pan dulce is amazing!!!! Soft and yummy!! I'm very picky about my sweet bread. I don't like most because of a spice (looks like black seeds) put in that the flavor can be overwhelming. Not here!!! It's definitely a must try!!!! Plus the vegan options taste exactly the same as the non-vegan. read more

A hidden gem in clovis! A Mexican bakery that has a variety of vegan sweet bread/pan. I ordered a beautiful box of decorate yourself easter cookies for the family. The cookies were delicious and the kids loved them. Cant wait to go back and try all the rest of the goodies they offer including horchata, variety of pan dulce and oatmilk ice cream. read more

Doesn't look like much in the outside but this place is by far the best bakery I have tried from San Fransico to San Diego. Vegan Mexican bakery items are so hard to find and even when you do find them they don't taste very well. Cafe Oaxaca does it with grace and they taste like the real thing. I don't now how I went through so many months of the current situation without discovering this unassuming neighborhood panaderia with a plethora of vegan options. I am not a hard core vegan but I'll still choose vegan over traditional baked goods whenever I can. I went here on a Saturday afternoon. I didn't want to seem weird and start taking pictures inside since it is a very small bakery. There is space for just about 4 customers at a time. The counter takes up most of the space. There was 2 people on front of me when I walked in but the wait was still very short. They don't have prices labeled but they do have vegan items labeled so when it was my turn, I temporarily became a kid in a candy shop again. I ordered whatever caught my eye which was actually mostly all the vegan goodies but since I could only choose a few, I went with: vegan tres leches cake, a vegan double chocolate muffin, a vegan coffee donut, traditional bolillo/jalapeño queso bolillo, & traditional flan. The donut was perfect. It didn't taste greasy or too sweet. They also have vegan baked donuts so I would like to try those on my next visit. The bolillo was a little dry and the queso jalapeño bolillo had a bit too much cream cheese and not enough jalapeños, but the vegan tres leches cake made up for it. It was moist and soft but not too sweet. Evidently, it had coconut cream but the coconut flavor wasn't detectable. I didn't try the flan but it was eaten within a very short amount of time so I would assume it was also very tasty. I will definitely be back for their vegan sweet treats. read more

This review is limited to trying only a couple things.. their cuernitos are fabulous, can't get enough of them! Big small mini whatever the size, sugar or no sugar, they are delicious. The conchas were just ok for me, I don't prefer them to other types of pan, and the elotes were also just alright. They were a little more airy than I prefer, since I like it to be a little more dense and bready. Flavors were all there, and definitely can't go wrong supporting a small local business. Their bread is not soft nor does it taste fresh. Very dry and lacking flavor. the lady at the front assured me that what I pointed out was a maple bar. Sure enough, it wasn't once I bit into it. Their concha is ok, but not soft. Looks pretty but that's it. Their vegan tres leche is gross. I would've got the non-vegan option but they sold out. Ugh. read more

The most expensive place I have ever gone to buy bread. I bought 12 pieces and paid $31.20, when generally comes out to about $13.

I'm currently obsessing over there vegan chocolate muffins and vegan strawberry horchata! I've tried many vegan products this is by fair the best and closest to the chocolate I've wanted it's sweet and doesn't have a bitter taste! For non vegan I would highly recommend trying the mokalita coffee but seriously try out the vegan baked goods you won't regret it! read more

the owners take pride in delivering quality pan dulce at a very reasonable cost. the cuernitos are a must have. the sugar is delicious and the bread is outrageously soft. i'm not exaggerating. it is freshness that is hard to find at a panadería. the pan here stays soft for a good couple of days, unlike other pans that you have to finish within that day or toss them because they are too hard. when you walk into cafe oaxaca you know you're going to get the freshest and most delicious bread. i enjoy pairing my pan with some abuelita hot chocolate at home. this bread leaves me feeling very nostalgic and very proud of my culture. thank you to the owners for delivering this level of love into their pan. read more
