I was in the area for my daughters soccer game and decided to stop in. I've seen them on Instagram and I wanted to try their unicorn concha. Only a few people can go in at a time cause of Covid. They have quite a selection of Mexican pastries and vegan treats. We got a few conchas and a vegan donut. The bread was so fresh and soft! Some of the softest pan I've ever had. The vegan donut was so cute and also tasted great. The woman helping at the register was kind and patient while I decided what to get. Overall a great experience and I hope to be back soon. read more

It was hard to think how to rate it but if I can give it 3.5 I would. The texture was fluffy and moist. The taste was light and sweet which can go either way. I like and prefer mine on the sweet side. The set up was different than what I'm used to. They're cased inside the glass cupboard that are paired with the bread and number so the worker can pick the numbers you're telling them so they can bag it up. The vegan concha was different. I can definitely taste the anise which I don't mind but for others who doesn't like anise stay away from it. I appreciate they offer a vegan option, it's like no other panaderia I know. The cost is bit more than I'm used to paying. I'd return if I'm in the area but can't imagine traveling across town for it. Service was great and clean. I understand they'll be moving soon but don't know when. Overall, for the locals in Clovis I say give them a try. read more

I was looking for vegan cake all around Fresno. I am shocked to find that almost nobody sells vegan cake or desserts around town and If they do they usually very limited options all containing chocolate. I was thankful this place had a full selection of sweet bread and soda cakes for me to choose from! I am not a vegan but my baby is allergic to dairy and is EBF. I sent my step dad in, face timed him and chose that way. There was a little section with a case full of vegan pan dulce and I would have loved to try them all. They all looked good. I don't remember the names of what I ordered but I think it was the coconut filled empanada, the sugar cookie, the concha, & the tres leches cake. My mom ordered one with cherry filling and my husband ordered one with caramel. They said theirs were good. So I have to say I really loved the cookie! That's probably my favorite thing to get especially when it's pink but I thought it was cool how they had it dyed almost like unicorn colors. Honestly the coconut filled empanada was really dry but I can see how yummy it would be if it were more soft and moist. The concha was also really dry sadly. That was my least favorite. They all seemed to have pretty good flavor though despite the dryness. Maybe they were just left out too long. The tres leches was interesting at first. I wasn't sure how I felt about it but after trying it again the next day I grew to like it so it became really enjoyable after getting passed the initial tasting. That was of course extremely moist since it's soaked cake. I'd like to try their other vegan cakes, I believe they had carrot and one other flavor, I don't remember if it was chocolate or vanilla. Anyways I know Pan dulce isn't usually super moist and it's always been on the drier side of pastries so I'm not going to dock a star because of the dryness. I think this is a great little bakery and I love how they have so many option especially in the vegan section. read more

We've been coming to PCO for years and have always enjoyed what we've eaten. Today I came in to buy some of the vegan products to share with friends. Everything was fantastic. I was so impressed by the puff pastry items. The flaky crispness of the vegan turnovers blew my mind. The flavors of the fillings were great! Connie, you nailed it with your recipes and technique. Some reviews complain about the prices, but for baked treats of this quality it's worth it. Everyone in the shop is so nice. I will happily continue to support this family business. read more

I been wanting to try vegan pan dulce for a while but I couldn't find any place near. I think IG knew I was looking for vegan pan because the rainbow concha came out on my feed! The bakery is very clean, they have a table with clean trays and clean tongs to grab the pan. They have a large selection of regular and vegan pan. The vegan concha, cuernito, and the puerquitos are delicious! They are so soft and not dry at all. I also tried the regular pan and I dont taste any difference. The staff is very friendly and the prices are very reasonable. Oh and they have churros! It's a bit of a drive for me but totally worth it. read more

I love this place. I seldom drive to Clovis but when I do, I gotta stop by Cafe Oaxaca! I love their vegan options, their vegan tiramisu is out of this world! I love that they now have little bottled cold brewed coffees to go, so I can save it for the next day. Again I love seeing businesses start to offer TASTY vegan options and having a place to get authentic pan made vegan is extremely special. What a lovely panadería! They have a variety of traditional pan dulce with both regular recipe and vegan options. We tasted both and they are equally delicious. It's so nice to find a bakery that can honor our cultural traditions for those of us with dietary restrictions or allergies. They also have quite a few traditional pastries like flan and tiramisu in the vegan and traditional recipes--these are delicious as well. We also appreciated the covid precautions they are taking where the worker packs everything for you from behind the glass. Perfect for any morning starter. Took baby girl for a morning walk to grab some beautiful pink vegan conchas some non-vegan options too. You really can't taste the difference!! We couldn't help ourselves had one on the way home. I must say the employees were so kind cool and young professionals. I will be making this trip more often. Friendly staff. Food is always fresh and tasty. For panaderia, this is the highest price one I have ever been to. There are other pan places good and cheaper, but this is the only place that offers tasty and unique vegan options and speciality vegan options on the weekends. Yummy... I was out in the area from Kerman today and didn't feel like stopping out there for some conchas for breakfast tomorrow morning, so I decided to drive a few extra miles. Small hole in the wall but I'll be back again. I believe she's the owner but she rang us up at the register. Such a sweet woman. And the pan dulce was so good. I tried the vegan options and I'm usually really picky but this hit the spot. My boys were so happy with their unicorn conchas, I got a bit of everything so can't name everything. Every time we're in the area we go.. but this past weekend we went just cause I had cravings and babe was nice enough to drive us.. Did I mention they have some bomb VEGAN chocolate chip cookies?! They are sooo good! They also have a 3 leches cake that babe loved! He's such a critic when it comes to 3 leches but.. he says Cafe Oaxaca has the best one he's tried as of yet! They've got some trendy baked goods like the unicorn pan and they offer some vegan pan. That's pretty cool. I went in and filled 2 trays full of pan on Christmas Eve for Christmas Day with the fam. Their pan is more expensive than typical pan, from .75 cents to 1.50 a piece. Probably the most expensive pan I've ever purchased... but the softest pan I've ever tasted! I really loved their pan and the family did too. They even gave me a little discount since I bought so much. The next day, the pan stayed soft and delicious. Even those damn Xmas sugar cookies were so good. I don't get excited about sugar cookies... but theirs was so good. Lol. I'm a fan! read more

Since I moved here from LA I been waiting to try this place . Finally tried it ! I send my husband Sunday afternoon and he told me that the person who helped him was nice . He got me 2 empanadas ( one raspberry and the other cream ) and a tres leches slice . These goodies were for my birthday and I wanted to have a sweet treat to celebrate . For the 3 items it was 11 something . My husband thought it was a little high but I had to tell him that it's normal because vegan items tend to cost more . So for price I didn't think it was that bad . The empanadas were sooo good I didn't expect to like them so much . So next time I will get more and maybe different flavors . Not too sweet and not to bland . The thing I was sad was my tres leches had a little too much frosting for my liking ( wished it was less ) but the flavor reminded me of a arroz con leche which I love . I absolutely love this place! It can be hard to find bakeries with any vegan options at all, but this place has a HUGE selection, AND they are all so delicious!! The staff is always so kind and friendly, and knowledgeable about the selection (there always seems to be new tasty items whenever we visit!). My partner and I grew up in Clovis, but currently live in Santa Cruz. Every time we visit our hometown, we make sure to come here. History

Established in 2010.

Our Grandpa Started in the 1960s to make bread for the community. As we moved to the USA my mom had a love for baking and making things happen. She was the one who started with the idea of sharing her creations. As we opened the bakery there was a few people who influenced our choices and gave us a different prospective of how Pan Dulce was seen different here in the States compared to Mexico. As a small business we have been going to phases and we are thankful for all of your support. Thank you for your business and thank you for letting us be part of your family. Vegan as well as regular. We have slices everyday but whole cakes just made by orders. To place an order for a cake we need at least 3 days in advance. If it’s a custom cake we need at least 5 days in advance. Thank you.

We don’t have them ready for sell, only by orders. At least 3 days in advanced.

I was wondering what time the cafe opens and how much it would cost to get a dozen pan dulce?

We open at 7am and the dozen depending on what you get it can be as low as $9 and go up from there. We have different prices of pastries as well as different kinds of bread.

Are there gluten free options too?

We only have one but we have it mostly on the weekends. If you would like to try it just call is ahead to make sure that we have it.

It is generously paired with flash-wilted, vibrant green onions. Many Chinese restaurants in Fresno add carrots, white onions, peppers, and mushrooms to their versions of this dish, but those are not the core ingredients. Sometimes, less really is more.
