That's not necessarily true. The cup sizes are available, however it is barely filled up half way. Meaning, that the size of the cup doesn't change, but the size of what you are served does. You pay before you realize that you're not even receiving what you pay for. Plus, I didn't say it tasted good. If you can't take criticism, only open to ppl who are current customers. We had the açaí bowl and a strawberry banana smoothie. Perhaps that's where we went wrong. It's a shaved snow type dessert shop. If we do come again we would need to order that instead of a smoothie. My smoothie was suppose to have real strawberries and bananas but it didn't taste like real fruit. It tasted more like bananas and bubblegum . Vampire Penguin has been on my radar for a while, and I finally got the chance to try it. Walking in, I wasn't quite sure what to expect, and I did feel a little overwhelmed at first. The interior is very busy, with snacks and merch in the front corners, and it felt a bit crowded. The décor definitely leans hard into the Halloween/vampire theme, which fans of that aesthetic will probably enjoy. Ordering was slightly confusing. There wasn't a menu listing the premade items, so you had to wait for them to scroll across the TV screen above the register. There was however a detailed menu for building your own dessert, which was helpful. We arrived later in the evening, and it seemed like they were starting to wind down for the night, but the staff was still friendly and took our order without issue. Our wait time was about 10 minutes for two items. I ordered the Peach Blossom, which was much sweeter than I expected. When I think of shaved ice, I usually imagine something closer to Korean style shaved ice, especially since it's Asian owned, but this felt more like a fusion dessert. My daughter ordered the Butterbeer and enjoyed it, though it was also too sweet for my personal taste. The main downside during our visit was the bathroom. The toilet wasn't functioning properly, my husband had trouble flushing it and had to open the lid to mess with it and about 10 minutes later my daughter experienced the same issue and had to text us from inside. It's something that could become a bigger problem if not addressed. Overall, the experience was interesting and unique, and I'm open to giving it another try with maybe a custom built order. After every Christmas or choir performance, it has always been a tradition to go out for ice cream. My parents did this for me growing up, and now it's something we continue with our own kids. After my son's performance, we gave him the choice between Baskin Robbins or Vampire Penguin, and even though we had never been there before, he chose Vampire Penguin. It's such a cute spot with fun, creative snow cones. The ice is light and fluffy, and the toppings are very "extra". We each ordered something different, and I went with the Fruity Pebbles; it was delicious! I'm not sure if the cashier was the owner, but she truly made the experience. We ordered Thai-Bo which was Thai tea snow and coffee snow minus the bobas since they've ran out and Coffee Toffee that was coffee snow with pieces of Heath toffees bits. Service: Gal attending was welcoming. However owner shouted at my husband in front of other customers for sitting in the black king chair that he pulled up to our table. He was poking fun with our 8 yr old, playfully pretending to be a king. He forgot to put back because he got distracted when icecream was brought to our table. Warning, if you do not live in the area and you try this place you will be sad because you likely won't find another one nearby. We do an annual trip to Southern California every year and Fresno is our halfway point. We usually stop the night in Fresno and try the multiple options of food and dessert that are in the area. This evening prompted me to give vampire penguin a try. I had no idea what I was getting but I decided to be adventurous and go for it. I am so glad I did but I'm also regretting it! I have not been able to stop thinking about the vampy road amazing concoction I had over a week ago! It was so good! And there is nothing even remotely like vampire penguin anywhere near me. My heart is broken because that was probably one of the best frozen desserts I have had in a really long time. I did order through DoorDash so I can't speak to the ambiance of the place but I can say that whoever did my order did it perfectly. Everything was perfect. And again I am so sad that I live four and a half hours away and can't have this regularly. Though that's probably a good thing for my waistline. Definitely give them a shot if you want something different and unique for dessert. You won't be disappointed unless you can't go again any time soon read more

I find myself coming back again and again! I love trying new flavor combos from their extensive menu! The fruit flavors are usually my favorite but this past time we tried a peanut butter cup combo of flavors and it was so delicious! Not too strong on the peanut butter flavor with a great depth of chocolate to it. My favorite topping is condensed milk so I'm always partial to the combos that have that included. However, you can always build your own! I love that the flavor is within the snow - no syrups at the bottom of the cup like a traditional American snow cone. The staff member was patient with us as we chose our snow cones. We ended up getting the halo halo, one with berries and one with cantaloupe and coconut. Everything tasted just like we thought should and everything literally melts in your mouth. The only thing to remember about shaved ice is that even though these desserts look big, they are water-based, so it feels like it runs out really fast. Definitely better to do 1 maybe 2 people per dessert. Otherwise it might not be enough. These desserts are a bit on the pricier side but still amazing. Heard really great things about this place so decided to pay them a visit! There are lots of little stands to buy from when you first walk in, and the interior is spotless! The menu is pretty large so the two screens are constantly changing, but you can also scan a QR code to take a look on your phone. I almost got a smoothie, but the cashier convinced me to get snow instead since I'm a first timer. Customer service was great!! After trying Vampire Penguin in Sacramento we just realized that there was a location in Fresno. Braved the rain to try one of our favorite desserts. I got the strawberry cheesecake and it was delicious! I absolutely love the texture of the snow and the sweet but not too sweet flavor. The service was great and unlike the locations in Sac the service was fast. It came out really quickly although I did miss the cheesecake bites that came with my order in Sac. I don't remember what my kids ordered, I think Dulce de Leche and some chocolate concoction. They were both really satisfied too. We'll be back and maybe I'll finally try something new. read more
