    Delicious and very soft
    Nichole M.

There are so many variations of these pastries. Growing up, my mom used to always call them, "sweet bread." My mom is half white half Mexican. Growing up, we didn't eat these too often, but when I would go to my dads side of the family, I remember going over to aunts and uncles house and they used to call it pan dulce. There would be a platter of them sitting on a table during tamale making, or during get togethers, or funerals. I wasn't always a big fan, they seemed kind of dry to me, but as I got older, I started dipping them in my coffee. Then, my new love for sweet bread came a few years ago from a local baker that would make mini conchas in her home. I loved them! They were so damn soft and they did not require you to dunk them in coffee to soften them up. She no longer makes the conchas, so I found Cafe Oaxaca in Clovis and I LOVE their conchas! Super soft and sweet. Fast forward to today, I was in charge of bringing treats for "kindness week", and I brought the team "sweet bread." Cafe Oaxaca was closed, so I searched (via Yelp) for another location and found Saavedras Bakery! Saavedra's is a small bakery, but they have a large variety of breads. They also have mini conchas, 3 for $1.00. The large size bread range at about $1.30 each. They are very soft and sweet. I received so many compliments on the bakery and how soft the bread was. Whether you call it sweet bread/pan/pan dulce/panaderia/Mexican bread/pastries, this place is delicious. -they take credit/debit card -they sell birthday cakes/fruit cakes -they also sell pinatas

Over 80 pieces of mini pan!

I love this panadería! My Abuela has been getting me mini pans here for many years. Now as an adult, this is my go to spot. I love that their hours are so open. They're open really early in the morning before work and also late in the evening. All day long they're pretty much restocking and baking fresh bread but my absolute favorite part about this place is that they have the mini pan. I'm the type of person who likes to try various different things, but can't eat too much of anything. So this is the perfect spot! I got over 80 pieces of mini pan for $42. They also have regular sized bread of all flavors and types! I highly recommend this spot for some freshly baked pan!

It is a well stocked panadería. The staff is nice and very patient. It is a hole in the wall but the bread is amazing. Enjoy!!

Hahah Baklava is sweet, a bit messy to eat especially when made fresh fresh, the syrup will cause a mess lol. But it's super flaky and crisp. I literally cannot explain how good this was. I had bought some for my coworkers and they all enjoyed it and keep requesting that I get more! Owner is super nice and friendly. I said it was my first time here and he was super duper helpful! He had literally went through each bakery item one by one and explained what they were, how it tasted like, and the pricing. Super friendly and kind.

Like pork buns are 3.00 cash and 3.09 credit card. But at least that's an option now. Warmly greeted and helped at the front counter when I walked in. Looks like a traditional Chinese bakery with their decor and set up and heard the front counter lady say their food is more based on the south side of China. Their steam pork buns will always be a favorite. I was lucky enough to walk in when they brought out a fresh new batch so it was still nice and warm when I got home. Dough is sweet and fluffy with their bbq pork filling. For 3.00 a bun, it was quite smaller than I remember. The ratio of the dough and filling was also not as portioned. Some bites you just get the dough. First time having their steam chicken buns and was surprised to see that it was sliced chicken with veggies and a slice boiled egg. This was not it for me. It was like eating a stir fry in a bun. Though this bun was bigger and more portioned than the steam pork buns. This was also my first time trying their Shumai dumplings. The flavor was there. A nice umami flavor. But I was missing the bouncy texture of the meat. And for 4 for 7.00 they were pretty small (compared to the dim sum places). Looking forward to trying other others on their menu now that the menu and signs are easier to see/read.

Both were served with their made-onsite orange blossom syrup, which went very well with the pancakes. Everything was wonderful, however the sujok beef patty was my favorite. To drink, my friend requested an Almond Milk Cappuccino, and I opted for a canned 100% mango juice. We also utilized the complimentary water dispenser. The restaurant was extremely busy, so I do recommend making reservations ahead of time. The service could have been a little better, but considering how packed it was, it felt more overwhelmed than rude. One thing to know ahead of time: Diet Cokes come in cans, not fountain drinks, so there are no refills. The biggest disappointment for us was the limited menu selection that day. There were mostly sandwiches and not a lot of variety. I ordered the quiche, which ended up needing extra sauces on the side because it felt a little plain on its own. My husband ordered the French toast, and that was actually very good. Ambiance was alright - a little cramped but the live music gave it a touch of class. Overall, I'd still recommend trying this place, just maybe not on a major holiday when the menu is limited and the restaurant is packed. I'd be willing to give it another shot on a normal weekend because I have a feeling the regular menu probably offers a much better experience.
