It's a small shop but packed with delicious foods and staples for your Armenian kitchen. The BEST grape leaves from H&H, wonderful string cheeses, cracker breads, prepared lamajune and sarma and wonderful treats and desserts. read more

I loved this place when the original owner was running things. And the food is still good, but it is not a welcoming experience. I went in to buy some lamajoon (sp?) and baklava, got a curt "sorry", couldn't tell me when there would be more. Seems like the food side is fine, the business side not so much. Don't know if the owners check these reviews are not, and I'm not trying to be a jerk, I really do hope they improve that. It doesn't cost anything to be nice to people, or to workout schedules so that walk-ins and advance orders run smoothly. I'm going to give it another chance or two!! read more

My family used to purchase several products here, we no longer do. My out of town family purchased products not available in their area on several occasions, they no longer do either. Orders placed ahead of time for lahmajoun are not prepared, sold to others, not prepared to quantity ordered, wrong order written down, not prepared in time and prepared incorrectly! These are over several visits and very unacceptable. Previous owner mom Nina ran this business the way it should be while located at West and Shaw. The current owner, the son is horrible. No apologies for mistakes and giving excuses instead. Take care of your employees so they can properly take care of the customers. We all will not be returning. There are plenty of other Armenian businesses in the Fresno and Clovis areas to support. read more

Nina's Bakery is absolutely a must visit for delicious, fresh, authentic Armenian Food and goodies! I have visited this awesome family owned business for years! We have had them cater events & grab market items for creating our own delicious Armenian Foods. I stopped by today in the late afternoon, and everything I wanted was fully stocked. In the refrigerated section, I got fresh Yalanchi, Tabouli, Eech, Baba Ganoush, and Hummus. All these were super delicious, & authentic - & these items I got happen to be Vegan! Being 100% Armenian, let me tell you, I have attended numerous events and their mezza (Armenian Appetizers) are either the ones being served, or they would rival anyone else's! I love that I can count on Nina's to stock my fridge with consistent, delicious flavors! Also picked up some pita bread and Chorag too! Other family faves from here are lahmajoon, tourshi, lavash, manti, & braided string cheese. FYI-The feel when you enter is very welcoming, and it's always nice to be greeted by a member of the family. You can often see the hard working employees in the back making fresh items too. I can only state my experience as a one time guest. I was at the counter with items to purchase and with a full kitchen and multiple kids and a woman behind the counter was not acknowledged for several minutes as they carried on a conversation and on the phone typing. Once acknowledged only stated is that all? I bought my items and left without any other interaction. Food items were mediocre. Don't see myself returning. read more

Owner is arrogant, they open 10-15 min late, even when they see people waiting outside, they will walk right past us, no greeting or acknowledgement, unlocks the door, doesn't even hold it open for the waiting customers. Once inside they still never acknowledge you. Great way to lose customers, especially in such a small community with many other great Armenian Bakeries. I will never go back. read more

I have one word ! Lahmajoon! I love this stuff and they always have it and it's always delicious

I have been eating very clean recently and was dying for a dessert but couldn't think of what sounded good that wasn't junk. I wanted something very simple, very rich, and homemade. I drove around until I stumbled on a place that felt right and I adore that it was Ninas! My old boss used to order lahmajoon for our office and i remember it being so addicting. When I walked in I told the man upfront "I'm really wanting a dessert what do you suggest?" And he gave me a few options. He was so nice and helpful and not at all bothered by my novice curiosity. I ended up buying a small baklava and a small container of their butter/sugar cookies(I know how to say it but not how to spell! Hah-rah-bee-yah?). The cookies are sweet, simple, and very delicate. Not the best I've had but I know my kids will love them. The baklava on the other hand made me almost cry after one bite! Everything was labeled clearly, it was clean(stacked with lots of boxes of inventory along the window though), and well organized. There's a little doorway into the kitchen where you can see them baking and preparing! Arthur is the man who helped me and he said that they sell out of lahmajoon almost always. The spicy goes around midday and the regular usually around 5. So if you want it give it a try, time is of the essence! read more

We had Nina's catering for a birthday party of 50 people. We did the basic spread, which came with chicken, rice, fattoush salad, hummus, pita and garlic sauce. Was in Fresno over the weekend for a tournament and asked around where I can find some Rojeek (sweet Sujuk) even though we have plenty of stores in LA that carry them. I initially bought 4, tasted one with my kids and went back inside and bought another 4. The absolute best Rojik. The prices of Ohanyan basterma and Soujouk prices are unbeatable as well. Best Lahmajune I've ever had in my life, reminds me of my Mom's. That is a huge compliment as my mother was an excellent cook and owned a restaurant before I was born. I couldn't be more excited that Nina's is back open! This place has a cult following because it is THAT GOOD! This is one place that I would be absolutely devastated if they ever closed! Favorites: Their hummus is my absolute favorite! It has a different (better, more lemony) taste and smoother consistency than anything I've tried. It is literally addicting!!!! I can't get enough of it. It's like nothing I've ever tried. This is only one of many great items (Armenian pizza, pastries with cheese and spinach, stuffed grape leaves, and the list goes on). We always take 99 from LA so we can stop in Fresno at Nina's Bakery and load up the home freezer with lamajoon, kufta, boregs, gata, and other Armenian delights. Nina's is not a cafe but a bakery and market that sells products to take home. What they offer is as close to actual homemade as you can find. If you take the time to look around you may uncover something you haven't eaten in many years, like the delicious lentil (Vosbov) kufta we found last Monday. This type of cooking is a love letter from your youth if you're an Armenian American of a certain age. The ones who made it are vanishingly rare these days.
