Brianna made for an exceptional experience. My wife and I were in Fresno for the 10th Annual Fresno Whiskey Festival at the Standard Restaurant and Night Club. As a brand ambassador for Pursuit Spirits I wanted to make sure I ate a fulfil breakfast that wouldn't make me groggy. Chez Maryse did not disappoint. My crepe with pesto chicken and sun dried tomatoes and a creamy musysaice was excellent filling and packed with the necessary fuel I needed to hold me off until my commitments were complete around 7pm. The restaurant was obviously a converted commercial and industrial area but they managed to make for a cute and authentic French experience from the chairs you say in the ceiling tile and floor tiles. The food was authentic and delicious and let me tell you their vinaigrette was excellent and they put just right amount on a fresh salad. I don't visit Fresno often but I can tell you after the great service from Brianna and the amazing food provided by Chez Maryse my wife and I will ensure this is a stop every time we visit. If you have not checked this place out I highly recommend you do.
It was Sunday and we had some time to eat so we looked for a good place on Yelp! This quaint little cafe with a dedicated flair for Paris. We were seated right away even though it seemed full. A string band was singing and adding ambiance to the setting. We shard a crepe while waiting for main course and even thought I don't like crepes outside of Paris this was fire!! Truly the food was so good we forgot about pictures. Music plays only in sundays 10-2pm. Requests are taken. This is gem in Fresno you must try!
Service was nice and fast. Atmosphere inside was cute and clean. I wish the dessert display had names of each dessert as we had no clue what each one was and we kept having to ask the cashier to explain each one. The desserts were absolutely beautiful but I just didn't care much about the dessert itself. My niece loves the pink heart dessert, it wasn't my fav as it had an artificial flavor which ruined the flavor. I think if I didn't then it would have been really good, I believe this one was white raspberry. The red cube had an odd flavor and was a disappoint ment, I believe it was a mixed berry mouse. My sister really likes the chocolate truffle mouse, the dark dumpling looking dessert. It wasn't too chocolaty for me. The white and chocolate top was a napoleon dessert and it was extremely dry. The top tasted like donut icing, there were layers and layers of puff pastry but only one thin layer of filling. It was so disappointing because it was beautiful and I've had some good napoleons but this was by far the worst. Last is the chocolate top bar dessert, they said it was coffee but we tasted no coffee at all. This did remind me of a Ferrero rocher again. It was good and reminded me of a tuxedo cake, I was just expecting more. This was probably the best one in my opinion but not something I would go back for. Again this is simply just through my lens and taste buds. We all are different and prefer different things. I've heard a lot of great things about this place so I had to try it out. First and last for me but beautiful place. Most of the desserts are mouse base.
Came here for memorial day 2026 brunch. The missus and I arrived around 12pm, there was a small wait but maybe only 10-15 min. We could wait on the patio, which was cozy and had sun umbrellas which were great since... It's hot and sunny today! The ambiance is a French album and the screens show ai-generated Paris (you can tell because the tree and plants "shift" but the shadows are static - dead giveaway). The food was great and decently priced. She ordered an iced coffee, I got the iced Americano. I ordered "dads breakfast" (French toast!) and she ordered the crossan'wich. Both were great. Parking is simple in the same lot - there's only a couple of covered spots though. The space is huge - the restaurant spans at least three storefronts. Service was generally decent and fast, given how busy it was.
We visited Chez Maryse for the first time on Mother's Day, and while there were definitely some positives, I don't think we got the full experience because of the holiday menu. The restaurant was extremely busy, so I do recommend making reservations ahead of time. The service could have been a little better, but considering how packed it was, it felt more overwhelmed than rude. One thing to know ahead of time: Diet Cokes come in cans, not fountain drinks, so there are no refills. The biggest disappointment for us was the limited menu selection that day. There were mostly sandwiches and not a lot of variety. I ordered the quiche, which ended up needing extra sauces on the side because it felt a little plain on its own. My husband ordered the French toast, and that was actually very good. Ambiance was alright - a little cramped but the live music gave it a touch of class. Overall, I'd still recommend trying this place, just maybe not on a major holiday when the menu is limited and the restaurant is packed. I'd be willing to give it another shot on a normal weekend because I have a feeling the regular menu probably offers a much better experience.

I ordered the ham and cheese croissant with scrambled eggs it was divine. My friend ordered the French toast it was good but arrived cold. I also got the Valentine's Day strawberry matcha didn't realize it came with your choice of a buttered croissant or chocolate ! Can't wait to bring my sister and boyfriend to try the other items they have.
Dang. Rarely do I eat somewhere and think wow that was so good I can't think of what I would change. I came here for brunch on a weekend and got the ham and cheese croissant with scrambled egg - it came with a side salad and the vinaigrette they make is sooo tasty. Also the French Kiss cold foam latte - soooo good - that was such flavorful coffee - some of the best I've ever had. It's kinda an odd set up bc you walk in and you see the counter to order all the delicious French items and desserts - it's an unassuming space with some decor of French posters and flowers. BUT there's an adjacent room for dining in and it is such a cute space - like what an actual French cafe would look like. On Sundays between 10-2pm they have live jazz music too. This will definitely be on my list of brunch places to frequent!
Wow! That is all I can say about this beautiful cafe My hubby and I will definitely be back here to enjoy another breakfast/lunch. In addition, there is a place next door where you can go dancing every first Sunday of the month! Awesome vibes all around this area. Was greeted and attending a lunch before going to the opera on a Saturday. It was very busy. Even though it was busy, this is great. They must be doing so well that they have expanded their restaurant into another whole room. Because of the Christmas season, they had a huge Christmas tree in the front window and tons of very elegant seating. The third dining room area is elegant and sophisticated in decor and has plenty of seating for large parties. This is slightly different than the fresh and vibrant pastry cabinet front area. A nice addition as it provides two different styles of eating within the same restaurant. Fabulous. The service was great as always, and they have expanded their menu a little bit lots of great crêpes, I had the salmon with avocado on toast, and it looked like a little flower of avocado - so pretty and elegant. And just delicious the salmon avocado toast is served with the side salad and their absolutely divine French vinaigrette. Well done!
Probably one of the cutest and best brunch spots in Fresno! The service and ambiance are so aesthetic and dainty, the staff are so kind and quick to help. I've been here three times and each visit has been so enjoyable. I got their les plaisirs de papa and le croque madame, AMAZING! Their vanilla cappuccino is so delicious and not too sweet. Their pastries are so adorable and worth the price, especially their fruit tarts! Please check them out! They deserve more recognition!
This place was great! You do feel like you just walked into a bakery in France. The Chantilly cream on the puff pastry tasted just like my mom's cream puffs. The start of the show was the ham and cheese crepe. Absolutely incredible. Great food. Great ambiance. Great price.
This was my 2nd time here and it was completely different! The first time I came on a early Monday to get a coffee and my experience was okay. BUT this time I came on a Sunday and loved it. Live jazz music, the varieties they have now. I got an iced strawberry matcha and chantilly strawberry standing rose. The strawberry matcha was too sweet and there wasn't much "strawberry" and matcha taste was very light, but the standing rose was 10/10. I wanted the matcha standing rose but they were sold out. Staff was very inventive!! I'm glad I gave it another chance and definitely will be back.
We came on a Tuesday morning and was treated right away. It was completely empty and we were told to sit anywhere. We ordered two ice lattes which came out quickly. I ordered the daisy crepe and my husband ordered the croque Madame. Took them about 15+minutes to bring out our food. The salad was great. I wish they would have put it to the side of the crepe instead of on top. The crepe was flavorful I wish they had a sauce on top. The husband liked his. His egg was a little over cooked for him but he still enjoyed it. I want to come back when they have live music.
Every time I come here is a great experience. The staff is so welcoming and polite. The decorations are lovely. The whole place feels gorgeous. And the pastries are stunningly beautiful. I ordered my usual Papa's Breakfast which comes with French toast, a soft boiled egg, and garlic bread. The French toast was perfectly done with the most softest and tastiest cream on top. I got the peach topping this time, but they have different options depending on what they have in season. The soft boiled egg was so cute and came in its own little egg holder with tiny spoon. The garlic bread was nice and crispy with a satisfying crunch when you bite into it. Overall, I enjoyed my meal here as usual and it made my visit with my friend a comfortable time together. read more

We love chez Maryse their story, the decor, the layout, it's all lovely. Their breakfast and pastry service is 5 stars in quality. We went for dinner on the night of their soft opening and unfortunately there were a lot of hiccups. We were not introduced to our waiter/waitress? It was someone different the first few times and then the same girl for the last half. It took over half an hour to get our drinks ordered, and we had to prompt the server to put in the appetizer order. It took an hour to get our entrees from the time we ordered them. The wine selection from France was incredible the desserts were also fantastic but sadly the rest of the menu felt a bit lacking in comparison. That all being said it was the first night and I'm sure a thousand things went wrong in the process. We'd love to come back and try the dinner again when they've got some more evenings under their belt. read more

Such a cute little hidden gem in Fresno! I came here on Tuesday with my dad and loved it so much that I came back the very next day to bring my boyfriend. They both ended up loving it as much as I did. I looove their salad dressing and the La Crepe Poulet Provencal had a really herb-y and fragrant chicken and eggplant which made it taste so unique and delish!! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming both times we came. One thing I really appreciated was seeing the managers out on the floor helping serve customers instead of just staying behind the scenes. It made the whole place feel really warm and personal. I'm already looking forward to bringing more of my friends and family here. I love this local gem! It has become my favorite spot to grab pastries. So far, I prefer the croissant items over the beautiful desserts - but I'll still try them all, lol. Once, we walked in not knowing they were closed and they still took our order. I felt embarrassed after the fact, yet they were so kind. Luckily, I was picking up pastries to go. I'm grateful for their kindness because I got to share them with my brother and his family when my brother was in the hospital. Food is my love language and seeing them all light up from the delicious treats meant a lot to me. My niece still raves about how good the pastries are. This was my first visit to Chez Maryse in Fresno, after my friend Diana suggested we go, and it ended up being such a cute spot for a coffee date. The space itself isn't a tiny café anymore--they've expanded into an extra room--so it feels airy and comfortable while still keeping that French-inspired, girly charm with all the decor and artwork. We had a savory crepe, a Nutella crepe, a brown sugar espresso, and (if I remember right) a rose latte. The crepes were satisfying and cozy, and the drinks were balanced, with the rose latte giving a nice floral touch without being overpowering. From the pastry case, we tried the Napoleon and a heart-shaped raspberry mousse. The Napoleon was a bit too sweet for my taste, especially since I grew up with a Slavic-style Napoleon that doesn't have a sugary glaze, but the raspberry mousse was a win--light, tangy, and really pretty. The staff were very friendly and checked in on us just enough without being intrusive, which made it easy to relax and hang out. Overall, it feels like a lovely spot for a girls' outing or a casual meet-up: pretty interior, warm service, and enough variety that I'd come back to try more. read more

Came for Sunday brunch with a friend to this new and adorable French cafe! They had a live band, which was quite loud in the main part of the cafe but ok in the additional space. The band also played beautifully, but a bit loud for my taste. There are many different people who act as your server and all were attentive and helpful! The food was fresh, flavorful and delicious. The coffee was also quite good. The cafe is a little bit off the beaten path, nothing really around, but it is worth the drive. We spent about 3 hours there, eating, chatting and enjoying the space. We got the French toast and I got a side of roasted potatoes. The peach macaron was delicious, the best I've ever had I'd say. The pastry's are so balanced and delicious, I want to come back and make sure I try them all at some point!! The French toast was the best one I'd experienced in my entire life. Stopped by again since i was in the area and was pleasantly surprised with the new updates they have made. The new sitting area is gorgeous and perfect for those wanting to have a cute little tea party. The Parisian aesthetic is on point! Service was quick and easy. My latte was a little bit more on the sweeter side but still yummy. Almond croissant is huge and perfect for sharing! Looks like they added more options to the menu for breakfast and lunch. I've came here two times. First time was on a Saturday morning in July with a friend. My friend was worried the service would be slow, because she had been here before and had a bad experience with the slow services. Ambiance is cute. I love small cafes and happy to see this place on this side of town. The second time I came was more recently with my husband on a Sunday morning. I wished I can rate this place higher but I can't. The service was way too slow. Not sure what was going on when we just ordered two items off the menu and three desserts. It was nice that folks kept checking in on us to see if we needed anything, but that was just ongoing. A small family of four came in and sat next to us about 15 mins after the waiter got our order. It was nice that they received some free desserts due to the long delay and wait. I most likely won't be returning as the food was mediocre (not memorable), and the wait was way too long. I just didn't feel a sense of urgency nor received any acknowledgment that they knew we were waiting an hour for our tiny orders. read more

Cute space and bigger than it seems from the outside. They do seem under staffed though. There seemed to be just one person greeting, seating, taking orders, running the cash register, etc. She did a great job considering it was on her own, but it does impact a servers ability to be attentive and friendly when they are doing the job of (at least) three people. It seems there was also only one person working in the kitchen. Crepe and latte were good. Not great. But good. I wish they had house made syrups for their coffee or at least a better brand. Even Monin would be good (it's French so it would be fitting). Torani is what I expect when coffee is an after thought. Torani is a basic home coffee syrup that somebody can buy at...well any where. Nothing special especially for a cafe. Crepe was full. Didn't skimp on the filling. But by far the best item was the salad dressing. Odd to say but I was shocked by how good the dressing was. A good place to try once but not not something I'd make a special repeat trip for. read more

Good customer service from beginning to end. Food delicious. It's not fast food so it does take some time, the wait is worth it. So many decisions sweets and treats to choose from. Ambiance is fabulous! Total vibe! Definitely recommend for self and girlfriend meet ups. I was blessed to go on Valentines with my forever Valentine/Cowboy! He and his father actually found it a couple months ago after a church. I tasted so many treats and I was hooked. read more

Needed a snack after we left the airport. What a stroke of good luck. A great little French Cafe, amazing meals and pastries. Enough food where our snack ruined dinner but we couldn't resist. I had basically a ham and cheese with an egg on top, French style. That means plenty of sauces, flavors and dressings. Absolutely amazing!! If you're by the airport, or anywhere in Fresno and want a great lunch make sure Chez Maryse is on your list. read more

Food was very good. We got a Mushroom omelette, dessert crepe and croissant sandwiches. I've had pastries here that are also very good. 3 star review due to service. Drink orders took too long and we had to ask for waters twice. Ordering our food also took a long time. We were never told you had to pay at the front so our party sat there trying to flag someone down to pay. Overall, great food but service is lacking. read more

Im always scared about getting lattes at places they are usually so strong and not great but i got the white chocolate latte and it was divine it has a delicious creme on top and was delicious all the way through! I also got myself a pistachio creme pastry and french toast it was all a great balance of savory with sweet never being too strong! I will definitely be returning the staff is very kind and helpfull. read more
