Update: The food deserves all 5 stars! It was simply delicious and amazing!!! But the service was incredibly poor, so poor Pam gave an impromptu speech on the hardships and trials of being a small business to the whole restaurant and asked everyone to be patient. I found that extremely noble. But at this point we were an hour and half into sitting in the restaurant and still waiting to be served. There was a great lack of coordination and etiquette. After the speech, the staff appeared to provide more attention to the customers but one scenario stood out in particular- when the bartender approached a table as though to take their order and called them out to reprimand them based on a previous visit. It felt out of place and unwarranted. It was awkward to say the least. All in all, it's a great restaurant with great food but the service made it hard to enjoy and have a good time. Thanks for the live music. ....... 40min in. We were sat immediately but still have not taken our order. Pam came by to check to be sure our order has NOT been taken yet and that was it Hehehehe! The beef curry here is not like the soupy curry you may have had in other places. The beef is tender and the chickpeas and potatoes are soft and juicy. The roti is thick like Naan but not quite. The price is bit high for what it is but I still would pay it to have that beef curry. 20 dollars for lamb curry and not sure if the portion justifies such. read more

I gave them 3 stars because the food was excellent but service was terrible the most interaction I had with anybody was "seat yourself and order on line". I am unfamiliar with Jamaican food so was not sure what to order. I guessed right and it was tasty but didn't get any side dishes because there were no pictures or explanations of what the items were. When they served me all I got was "here you go" not once was I asked how was my food or if I needed anything else. Yummy yummy yummy. Probably one of the top places for goat curry in the city of Seattle. I have not been to Trinidad so I am hesitant to say "oh this place is super authentic!" but it was so good and probably the best Trini food I've ever had. Also, the juice! That sorrel juice is soooooo delicious. I was slurping it down, while trying to be as decent as possible. Overall, I paid about $20 (including tax and tip) for my main entree, 1/3 of an appetizer, and a glass of sorrel juice. After this meal, I was stuffed and had to sit in the booth for a couple minutes just to walk to the car. It was so good I didn't want to stop eating. Pam's is my go-to whenever I (or a friend) am craving some home-cooked Caribbean food. I highly recommend this place. read more

Got some dinner from Pam's Kitchen delivered via Uber Eats. So, I'll try to keep this review as contained to the quality of the food, as possible. I got a side of the goat curry, a Dahlpuri and the jerk chicken wings. Now, don't get me wrong. The food tasted pretty good, especially the goat curry and the Dahlpuri. The chicken wings, I thought, were a little too dry. (Might be wrong about this), but when I ate at the restaurant, I believe they had served a dipping sauce with the wings which was absent today. I thought the goat was a little too fatty, as you may find from the photos posted. So, if you're trying to be healthy, even remotely, please beware. Also, when dining at the restaurant, curries came with a side of the channa and aloo curry, which was conveniently absent. Now, prices vs food quality/quantity. I feel like I did not get my money's worth. At the end of the day, this is not fine dining. Neither is the quality that great. So, why should I pay around $10 for 5 dry chicken wings? Same story with the goat curry, which had about 6 bite sized pieces for $12. And then the Dahlpuri for $4.... I don't usually focus on prices this much, but I think Pam's Kitchen needs to figure out their pricing. I ended up paying about $25-26 for a meal I'd be okay paying ~$15 for. Based on my last visit to the restaurant, it was fairly empty. Honestly, the goat curry had really nice flavors going on. If not for the prices, I'd totally consider this place for another meal. As it is right now, not so sure. Stretching it to 3 stars for the flavors and the cook in the goat curry. Wouldn't call it a successful meal by any means, though. I am biased because of my roots in Trinidad. Still the Roti is legit. Their drinks and hot sauce are on point. The food has to be a little pricey because of the square footage of the place. So if you are ready to dine West Indian prepare to drop a Ben for a decent meal for 4. I like to get a few dishes a few extra skins (dal roti) and family style it up. Portion sizes are historically on the smaller size probably because people were trying to get one meal and share too much. I've been going around Seattle trying various food places that people recommend. You know what is funny? They all recommend me garbage! All the good places I've found have been on the way to other locations. Usually I see something and say, "Looks like a place to check out some time." Well this place happened to be Pam's Kitchen! I grew up on ethnic food and this place is as good as home cooking if you ever had the loving family to do it for you! So being the sorry chumps you are I'd suggest you experience that atleast once in your life. Their whole menu is good, their mixed drinks are good, hell I haven't experienced cooking this good in Seattle in the three years I've been here. People seem hooked on bad overpriced stuff, and it saddens me that I can't trust a local for their opinion in this state. Your soul needs this, you don't know that till you have their Jerk Chicken. For Juneteenth, I wanted to support local Black-owned businesses, and Pam's Kitchen has definitely been on my list of places to support. We decided to order take-out in person, rather than over the phone, as we previously had a hard time reaching this business, likely due to popularity and/or high volume of phone orders during Covid-19/BLM movement. We ordered 2 appetizers, 2 main entrees and a few orders of their cocktails because they were so well-made and the bartender was super cool guy. All of the following I highly recommend: - Aloo Pies (2 per order) appetizer: Generous sized, soft fried samosa-like dumplings with seasoned potatoes and mango chutney. SO delicious... Wish I ordered another pair of these - Spicy Jerk Wings (5 per order) appetizer : Super delicious baked chicken wings marinated and seasoned really well, with some spiciness to them - Spicy Jerk Pork Ribs entree: Okay, for real, this comes with a HEAPING HALF A RACK of delicious, fall-of-the-bone tender pork ribs... I've had other BBQ ribs before, but I would say this is one of the most amazing tasting and big serving size of ribs I've ever had. It comes with seasoned, Trinidadian-pelau-like fried rice and a side of refreshing mixed salad of lettuce, cabbage, crispy apple and tomato. If I could order one thing from Pam's Kitchen, it would be this dish. - Jerk Chicken Sandwich: Delicious coconut fried bread stuffed with tender pieces of boneless chicken marinated in Pam's original jerk seasoning. - Trinidadian Smash cocktail (I ordered twice because so good): Delicious cocktail with Smith & Cross Jamaican rum, angostura bitters, coconut nectar, and lemon - Mojito cocktail: Classic cocktail can be made few ways depending on your taste (tagny, sweet, etc.) St Germain mint leaves, lime, cucumber, white rum, and soda - Lemon Pina Colada cocktail: Interesting and delicious take on a class pina colada with 10 cane rum, fresh lemon, coconut cream and nutmeg. Keep this waitress that you have here, she interacted with us, checked on us and kept our waters full. I do want to apologize on my last reviews as I may have came off to blunt, I do want to say that the changes I've experienced tonight is what I want Pam's to be every experience. We were greeted right away, didn't have to wait to be seated. The waitress took care of us. Ordering our food was fast also and our food came quick as well and fresh. We ordered Beef & Chicken Curry with Roti, appetizers we got the Aloo pie. The price was great as we split the bill. Forever a favorite and a comfort food. I am in love with their chicken curry and dhaalpuri. The flavors are always on point and quantity if huge. I always have left over that I look forward to for the next day. One of the great things about Pam's is that the food is always consistent, which is so important. I almost always order the chicken curry so cant speak for other items. I do remember having had the jerk chicken and it was delicious too. But the curry is my 100% go to. read more

Going to Pam's was a practice in patience. If you're okay with sitting at a table for over one hour before you have food in front of you, then you'll be fine. It seemed horribly understaffed at Pam's on a Friday night. There was only one bartender and two servers for the entire restaurant. It took at least 20 minutes to take our orders and then another 20 to bring our drinks. S ordered peanut punch, which was very rich and tasted like a Reese's peanut butter cup. I had ginger beer, which had a really nice spicy kick in the back of the throat, but it was incredibly sugary. The 3 staff members were very nice, but one waiter expressed his frustrations to us from the get go, so that kind of set the tone. Also, no one apologized at all for the long wait for almost every single thing (menus, water, drinks, food, the bill, a box). From reading some of the other reviews, it sounds like my experience isn't all that rare, which is unfortunate. For food, I ordered the jerk chicken plate that included a salad and fried rice. I thought the salad and rice were flavorful, and the chicken was spicy and tender, however... it wasn't one-hour-wait-good (nor was it $16-good). read more

The lamb curry is delicious. Do not be fooled because your food comes out fast. They make the food fresh each day and it moves fast. Paired with the nun bread it makes a very filling meal. The atmosphere is very relaxed. One of the signs in restaurant actually encourages you to help yourself. The staff is super chill. I've eaten here pretty frequently since COVID-19 hit and the food is ALWAYS consistent, delicious, flavorful, tender, with generous portions. Everything taste great - I love the veggie dish because it comes with so many options. The jerk chicken sandwich is amazing! The curry roti is massive and probably the best I've ever had. The roti is light, perfectly cooked, you can't go wrong with the food. I would give the service 4 stars because it's slow to get your food, but it's a small business and Pam seems to be quite nice. I was born in Trinidad, but have been living in the US since the early 90's. Finding Pam's Kitchen on a visit to Seattle was wonderful! Pam and Raul were great to chat with and the food was everything I could hope for - bringing me back to memories of the islands where I grew up. I had the curried goat and paratha (roti) there and ordered curried chicken, dhalpuri, pelau and aloo pies to go. It was all really well prepared, tasty, and like I said, it really brought back memories of the past and food I have always loved. This was the first time we went here, however there was no one hep us navigate the way around, or tell us what we should be expecting from the menu.
