Took a lot of Will power to drive past a Pizza inn all because I saw a billboard of a chili dog (coney islander). Greeks started it all in Detroit. Macedonians did it in Cincinnati. Pizza inn was a 1970's southwest Missouri staple. From rolla to Joplin is was a go to as we always looked for a hotel with an outdoor pool. Holiday inn next to pizza in. Pals. Line to order. Good sign. Baub didn't make it but he promised to Benmo me $10 to sample the fare. I ordered chili dogs. Law of expectation in place here. Set the bar low. Can't compare to Detroit or Cincinnati. Verdict. Friendly place. I'll try a burger next. Chili was the cheese whiz of chili. Love the family atmosphere, off colored vol shirts and Jesus is great t shirts. I was able to troll a few Vols, kind of like Haulinz trolls me in the thread. I think he's trolling but I'm not sure. Stay tuned for dinner in Johnson city. read more

Pals is a great place to get a tea and just happens to have the best burgers and hotdogs too. Forgot to mention that the fries are great too, but the best part of the whole place is the employees. I don't think I have ever met one of them that is not friendly even if they have bad days like everyone else, they don't show it. read more

While driving around in desperation travelling on New Year's Day we "settled" on the only open place we could find, a burger joint in a strip mall. I had heard of Pal's as a quirky little regional fast food chain, but I was not expecting much. I was wrong. The fries were piping hot and fresh. The burger was perfect. It tasted meaty and juicy as the chilled vegetable could be distinctly tasted. It was as good as one you would cook on a backyard grill. Service was very polite. (I had phoned earlier to ask if they were open and the employee was very polite on the phone.) The busy place had lots of locals greeting one another. The ham and cheese sandwich seemed popular also judging from the orders of locals. I liked that I could see the food being prepared, a novelty in fast food. I really like Pal's food and this location is no exception. This particular one is not open for breakfast and, therefore do not serve my favorite item on their menu (the cheesy rounds), which are amazing. And it's the only location I have seen that has indoor seating and no drive through. Their burgers are old school tasty. They remind me of the burgers back in the day that fast food places served before they all started cheap-ing out on their ingredients. The Big Pal's meat tastes like meat. Just delicious meat. Imagine that! The Frenchy Fries are note-worthy too. Thin and crispy and hot. That's right, they were hot. Fries are not my thing so for me to like them, you know they were good. They have a good soda selection and they (smartly) include a local favorite: Dr Enuf. The prices are inline with other fast food places and the employees are smiling and friendly. So if you're looking for and old school fast food meal with quick and friendly service, Pal's is a top-notch choice. read more

Pal's is a great place to check out. Not only great prices on food but they are quick. This was my first time here and it won't be my last. The staff was friendly and the dining area was clean. The burgers, hot dogs and sandwiches are great. The Frenchie Fries are awesome with that special seasoning and I also like the Sauceburger. Check this place out when in town. read more

These directions took us to a dine-in location in a strip mall, not a drive thru which was totally unexpected based on the reviews. I tried the sauceburger just to be different and it was a little too messy for me, but I did think it had a good flavor. You should know that it is smaller than the big pal. Hubby had the big pal and thought it was a really good fast food burger. We also had the sweet tea and french fries and they were as good as reviewed. Friendly, super fast service. Because we didn't have the drive thru experience that was mentioned in so many reviews, we didn't feel like we had the full Pal's experience. The next time we are in their area, we will try a drive thru location and hopefully rate a 5! read more

This place has been around for YEARS and is ALWAYS busy. You know why? Because they have delicious food with AMAZINGLY fast, friendly service. I've been here a number of times and even when they're lined up out the door, you have your food in your hands in less than 10 minutes. Their Big Pal cheeseburgers are some of the best in town. The same can be said about their Frenchie Fries and sweet tea, too. I've never had a bad meal here, and I doubt I ever will :) read more

We stoped in for the first time today and it was during the lunch rush. You'd never know it by the way the line moved so quickly! They have a very efficient ordering setup. We got the junior burger and shared a large order of frenchie fries and a large coke. That was plenty for 2 senior citizens. If you've never been to Pal's you have to got to eat here. It's a drive through only restaurant but they have spaces for you eat in your car. The Big Pal has to be the best hamburger I've ever eaten and the fries ain't bad either. The sweet tea is great and the chipped ham sandwich is like nothing you've ever eaten before. I'd rather eat here than at any "fast food" drive through anywhere. If they had tables to eat at inside this place could have restaurants all over the world. WOW read more

I would much rather eat at the dine-in pal's that we have in Greeneville, Tn. The food is excellent and cheap! With food that good I would rather sit down and enjoy it. I highly recommend eating at our dine-in location, the service is great and as always it is very clean and I can see my food being prepared. read more
