Recently had an alarm system installed. Got several quotes from large firms as well as Vally alarm which a neighbor uses. From the get-go service was fantastic, responsive, customer service, efficient, walk-through, as well as installation done quickly. Chose Vally alarm mostly due to benefits I saw on their proposed design as compared to the others, as well as my perception of slightly higher equipment quality. Price was slightly under the others. Rick and I believe it was Fernando did the installation in a fabulous way. We have an old alarm system but it was working perfectly until we had a technician come out to replace a door sensor. The tech rebooted the alarm 3 times and on the third time the programing got erased. Since then we have had 3 technicians out trying to get the system back up and it's still not functioning. My boss and I got in the instruction manual and got to work. We disconnected the cellular service and connected a lan line. Was able to get the system to dial out to the central station but the station is not responding. I called to get the correct comm format to program into the alarm so we can transmit the correct codes to the station. I called the office and was told they could not give me the communication code because "they don't give that information out"! I explained that we need this to program the alarm. Still they would not give me the information. I asked can you give me the number of your central station so that they can help me. She said sure then gave me the same number that I had just called. Terrible customer service. We had 3 technicians out to our office. 1 wiped out the programming the other 2 spent most of their time on the phone with tech support. Have been using this company for over 15 years, it has been purchased by Valley Alarm recently. There has been no change in the high quality, professionalism and responsiveness. The service people are very knowledgeable. Just had some sensors replaced after new doors were put in. Ric, the technician was great, made you feel that he was looking after your best interest and was very pleasant to talk to you. PROTECT YOURSELF AND YOUR BUSINESS BY GOING ELSEWHERE! I had used them at our business for more than fifteen years, but we never had a burglary so things seemed great. This year, we've had four. After huge losses incurred from the first two burglaries, we brought in a second alarm company and used them both side by side. For burglaries 3 & 4, the new company notified the police within 3 minutes and myself within five minutes (known due to our video cameras). For 3 AND 4, I was driving to the scene when PVS finally contacted me - it had to have been at least 20 minutes later since I had to wake, dress, make phone calls and was almost there. From experience, I know that twenty minutes after breaking in the bad guys are long gone WITH the contents of your store! Thanks to our new alarm company, burglaries 3 & 4 both resulted in arrests and NO loss of merchandise. When we relied on PVS, the criminals got away with everything they could get their hands on. To add insult to injury, the new company charges $375 per year for monitoring and I was paying $900 to PVS. When I quit PVS, they asked why and I told them. Even though they knew the other alarm company had great success, they sent me an unsolicited explanation on how they had done everything correctly. If you accept failure, and can't even recognize it, you will never improve. Wake up, PVS, your customers deserve better! read more

We had a serious problem with our security system after a brief neighborhood power outage. When the power came back on, our alarm sounded and none of the keypads would respond. Trying to stop the alarm, I disconnected several power supplies and batteries and then finally disconnected the alarm itself. When the PV Security technician, Russ Austin, arrived he found quite a mess. There were some additional pre-existing problems due to some loose wires and missing sensors (caused by some other work we had done on the house) in the alarm system. Russ faced a major challenge, but he went through it all very methodically and completely, and left the system not only in working condition but also in a much more secure condition than it was before the whole thing started.
