Sweet building, modern atmosphere and clean. The service was horrendous. The food was okay but felt extremely overpriced for the quality of the service and the time it took to get our order taken and then for the time it took to receive that order. The vision for this place is great but it's implementation left much to be wanted. We were hoping to go for dinner but as we arrived a bit early decided to have a few small plates and hang out until dinner service opened at 4. We told our server this early on before ordering(which took a while) and weren't informed until 4 that they no longer have a dinner menu so we had to go elsewhere for food. Not sure if the issue is that it's a newer business or they're understaffed or just over their heads. I really wanted to love it, but it was just okay. read more

First, I want to start by saying that I don't do bad reviews, just not my style and had the owner been available I would've preferred to share my feedback personally, or at the least in a private message but neither of those are an option, so I digress. We really wanted to like this place and judging by the reviews I thought it would be a guarantee. When we walked in I thought it had potential, it's colorful, big and open but as I looked around I just felt disappointed, it's not a cozy place but you can tell they tried. The cook was friendly and said hello as we waited by the door, but then we were 'greeted' by a very unhappy looking woman who gave off the sense that she was annoyed by our presence, I literally thought maybe she's just having a bad day but it got worse as we sat down and realized she was our server. I then thought well, maybe she's working everyday and doesn't have enough help and if we're really nice she'll relax. Nope. I ordered a sample of beer but then decided I didn't want one, she never offered or asked if I wanted anything else, I had to ask for a glass of water once the food came. When I'm at a restaurant I always ask the server what their favorite is or what they would choose if I'm having trouble deciding between 2 options, when I did this she aggressively responded, hands waving about, "there is no way I can answer that! I eat here everyday and everything is good!" I felt like a scolded child, that I had asked a stupid question. When the food arrived the presentation was good but the food was underwhelming at best. My husband asked for hot sauce and she claimed there was none, weird... but then went onto scold us again for asking, I ordered the chipotle chicken which she said was covered in chipotle seasoning and spicy enough as well as what she claimed was very flavorful bbq sandwich for him. But unfortunately both were bland and unimpressive, and mine was not even remotely spicy. The housemade potato chips were tasty. My husband asked how my meal was half through and pointed out that she had not returned to our table to inquire herself or offer a refill, she did eventually but we were finished. It was 2:30 on a Monday, she was not busy. Customer service requires a certain type of personality, at the very least someone who actually likes interacting with other humans. I would say she is not cut out for this line of work. Sadly we may not return, normally we would give a place another shot before making this decision, and do believe overall we would've enjoyed our experience and our meal more had she just been friendly. read more

I wanted to love this place, but sadly disappointed. First the good....lovely atmosphere, clean, and friendly service. My husband ordered a burger and fries, the fries were good, the bun on his burger was so dry it was falling apart and crumbly. I ordered one of the specials which was a New York steak, cheese mashed potatoes, and asparagus for $35.00. My steak was cooked to perfection (medium), but unfortunately it was so full of gristle, I had to keep spitting bites into my napkin. The few bites I had without gristle were good. The asparagus was very good, cooked tender crisp and had a good seasoning. The cheese mashed potatoes were not even edible. They tasted like instant potatoes that they tried to pass off as the real thing. It seemed like they made instant potatoes and then added some actual potatoes to the mix to give a smashed potato effect. The problem is the chunky pieces of potatoes were literally not cooked, my husband could hear the crunch of them when I chewed them. Needless to say for a total of $80.40 including tip, I left still hungry. I guess my 35.00 meal was about 5 bites of steak and 4 pieces of asparagus. read more

Stopped in for dinner July 23, it was my husband's birthday. I'm happy to see there is another option for dinner in cascade. We had the shishito peppers and salmon deviled eggs for appetizers, and we both had the ribs. The appetizers were tasty, but not a fan of the ribs. Way over smoked and super spicy. I could only eat one and my husband had the worst heartburn that night. Still giving this place 4 stars because I really like another dining option in Cascade. read more

The food here was better than I expected. The service though is what took everything apart. I've never had that good of service in a small town like I did at cascade. Cannot say enough fabulous things about this place. The vibe and decor is eclectic, fun and vibrant. I booked a night above the restaurant as I was traveling from Spokane to Boise and was greeted by Sydney, one of the owners. She was extremely friendly and helpful about my accommodations so I made my way to the bar and had an amazing dinner accompanied by drinks from the wonderful bar tender Jim. Sometimes dinner at the bar can be awkward (I'm on a business trip so traveling alone), but I felt so comfortable and welcomed. At the end of the night the other owner, Jeff (Sydney's dad), sat at the bar and started a convo- super friendly and welcoming, yet again! This place is a MUST TRY!!! If you are even just driving through or in the area you HAVE to stop here!!! I'll be coming back here many times! read more

This place is amazing!!! We had the fried pickles with the malt vinegar aioli and they are too die for!!!Hubby had the bacon blue burger and he loved it...I had the classic burger and it was so good. What a treat!!! Upscale, cute, quaint just what the area needed. I had the pulled pork sandwich, and it was outstanding. The bun was even branded with their logo. We had the homemade chips "delish", and the service was superb. The beautiful young lady (Sidney) who seated us just happened to be one of the owners and she was absolutely delightful. I think they're trying hard but we were underwhelmed. Service was slow. Everyone around us got waited on, received their drinks, food came out fast. Servers just passed us by. Then two servers got in an argument over who would take care of our table. When we were finally greeted by a server she was friendly and attentive. My husband had ribs. They were cooked but cold in the middle. Also seemed like they pressure cooked them and then added some smoke and bbq sauce? Not sure what was going on there. I had fish and chips. Good flavor but the first bite into the fish left oil pouring out. We also had fried pickles. Waaaaay too much vinegar. Also be prepared that aioli comes with everything. I also agree with the other reviewer that the turtles at the entrance are very sad in their little, boring tank. Glass is covered with algae and they have one little rock to sit on. Very sad. We will come back again, just in case this was an off day. It would be nice for Cascade to have a "hip" little place like this. read more

Love the Palooza. Staff is friendly and prompt. Glass was always full. We have tried several different dishes when we pass through and stop for a meal. We love the home made chips and Ahi Nachos. I was traveling through Cascade for work and was suggested Palooza eatery by the fine folks down at True Value Hardware. What an incredible surprise for this quaint little town. I had the salmon with risotto and a side salad. The fish was beautifully sourced and wild caught. It was cooked to perfection and well portioned. I had a couple of nice local craft beers and some great conversation at the bar with the bartender and locals. To say Palooza embodies "community" is an understatement. These fine embraced the outsider and welcome them in with open arms. Jeff, the chef and owner went out of his way to come chat with me. Such an incredible restaurant with amazing humans serving some epic food and grog. 10 out of 10 would recommend. I'll be back but hope to stay in one of their rooms as they also have a hotel with a few rooms. read more

The food here tasted just okay. We were super disappointed. Our 10 year old got the kids burger with fries, and my boyfriend and I got the classic cheeseburgers. The kids meal was $8 while the adult meal was $16. All 3 meals were exactly the same in proportion, yet the adult ones cost twice as much. Then they told us that the kids patty is a little thinner, but it was the exact same size as the adult burger. Plus the prices did NOT reflect the quality of the food. $16 for a plain cheeseburger that was undercooked from how I asked for it with a small amount of unsalted, tasteless french fries is a bit outrageous. Another fantastic dinner. The ribs and potato salad are 5 star. Pesto chicken pasta is excellent. And the salmon stuffed deviled eggs were the perfect choice as a starter.
