Food was spot on. I was visiting Cascade for the first time and stopped by Lakefront Bar for an early dinner after a long day. I ordered the salmon dinner, which came with soup and two sides. The cheddar broccoli soup was surprisingly good, and the salmon was cooked well and had a nice amount of seasoning. There was a small mix-up with one of my sides. I had originally wanted vegetables, but potato wedges came out instead. The staff handled it quickly and brought me a side of vegetables without any hassle. That level of service definitely earned them an extra star. The portions were generous for the price, and the lake views are nice -- though next time I'll probably sit outside and enjoy them even more. Overall, good food, good service, and a solid spot to eat in Cascade. I'd happily come back. read more

The desk clerk at our hotel recommended this restaurant. It was a Monday, and they are closed on Mondays. So, we came tonight, Tuesday, at about 6:15. The place was very busy, and there was a wait. However, their system for handling new arrivals was disorganized. An older woman stood at a counter, and everyone lined up behind her. But, she never said anything, chatting with an employee, and no employees took charge. I walked to a register and was given a buzzer. Other people came after us, and also lined up behind this woman. Confusing and annoying. We waited about 15-20 minutes, and were seated. This was the only part of our experience that was good; a view of the lake. We waited close to 10 minutes, and our server came over, a young woman named Kiley. All of the servers were hustling, and I suspect they had too many tables. So, while she was doing her best, we received only average service. My wife being the generous, compassionate person that she is, we still tipped her 20%. The food was the worst part. We both had the surf and turf, an 8 oz sirloin steak and four jumbo shrimp. It comes with soup or salad (we chose salad) and two sides (we had a baked potato and fruit. Our salad and entree came out at the same time, which is a first world problem. Still, salads usually come out first and I prefer it that way. The baked potato was good, as was the salad. On the other hand, I was looking forward to grilled shrimp and these were breaded. Bummer. The fruit was like a canned fruit cocktail. Really? And the absolute worst: the steak. We asked for medium. It was dry, tough, and chewy. Essentially inedible, though I tried, but ultimately left a good portion uneaten. My wife did the same. This was the fourth place we ate at since arriving yesterday morning, and the only true disappointment. I'm not counting the hotel breakfast because you know what those complimentary breakfasts are like. No high expectations there. It is very possible that on a different day we might get good food and service. But, we'll never know. read more

Driving into town, we searched for some lakeside dining and the Iconic lakeside bar and grill in Cascade just off highway 55 popped up on the map. We headed over around 11:30 on a Sunday morning for an early lunch. Upon arrival, I imagined the building has been there forever by the looks of it. Patio dining was preferred since the weather was sunny and breezy with a fabulous view of the golf course and lake. Fortunately every table has an umbrella on the patio so you can control sun exposure. The service and the food just fine, but the main draw is the view and proximity to lake, golf course, and next door campground. The menu has a lot of choices. Many apps, sandwich options, soup, salads, a kids menu, etc. Breakfast served until 1pm. I enjoyed my lunch of tomato soup, green salad, and baked potato. My daughter liked but didn't love her spicy chicken sandwich, she said the chicken breast was too thick and was very messy with liquid dripping from it. Onion rings were awesome though! Other daughter liked her mac and cheese bites. Prices were standard and fair. Party of three for lunch was under $50 with tip. We unexpectedly had friends arrive halfway through our meal and the waiter was very accommodating and their order was brought out quickly. We easily were given separate checks. We had Nachos (don't get it with chicken), Chicken Tenders and Fries (the fries were actually the best out of everything), and a Pastrami Sandwich. The atmosphere is great as is the service. The menu is extensive. But it's mostly a fried food place. The waitress talked me into the shrimp scampi which came on mashed potatoes. It was really bland. Lots of shrimp, for sure, but almost without flavor. I wish I could have had something fried, but I have celiac disease so I couldn't. Sorry for the 2 stars. It's me, not you. read more

Lakefront bar and Grill is like the greasy spoon diner on the back roads of Mississippi except this is on the end of a golf course with a view of a lake. That's all it really has going for it. The food was OK. Our boys happen to love their spicy jalapeño chicken sandwich, which they say is the fire. I've tried their burger. It was just mediocre, subpar. The fries and onion rings are just blah. Greasy limp. The service on a scale of one to five is about a two at best. Extremely discombobulated, they cater to local regulars And they're all over the place. Chaotic to say the least. It's seated dining only and you can't just pick out your preferred table. They have an enormous bar section and it's apparent that that's where the bulk of the revenue comes from. Outdoor dining is beautiful on the patio under the umbrellas, but good luck getting quicker service out there. The handful of servers that they have seem to have been there forever, but they seem to be just a bunch of friends that happen to work at a place that serves food. Food service is not their primary focus. Ambience is fun and very hipster diner Ish. You can park on the upper layer or you can park on the lower section that says "golf parking only". Apparently restaurant patrons can park there as well. I do not recommend this place unless you're in an absolute starvation situation and you don't want to ride all the way into town or wait. read more

Our waitress was completely bothered by our presence so much it was like our money was an inconvenience for the establishment. I had to go to the bar for another round of drinks because she never came back to check on us. The ladies restroom had at occupant so I waited... sure enough a man that worked there came out from the door. There was urine on the floor also. We ate her for the first time tonight to start of our camping weekend. It was very underwhelming! My husband and I both ordered the bourbon New York and it resembled shoe leather. We both ordered medium rare and it was in fact that temp but extremely tough. It also did not taste great. We're both big steak fans and this by far was the worst we've had. I didn't even eat half and was asked if I wanted a box but I passed. Our oldest ordered Alfredo noodles with shrimp and it was cold, needed to be sent back. The youngest ordered mini corn dogs and they seemed fine but that's difficult to mess up. Both mine and my husband's potatoes were like warm at best. Salads were ok but the rolls and cinnamon butter were great! Unfortunately, the rolls didn't justify the $23 bucks for the steak. My husband did like his mac n cheese though. read more

One of my regular go to spots. Full service bar and full service menu. Staff is ALWAYS pleasant and accommodating! I even call in orders. Love the view year round. Wonderful patio dining. Finger steaks are my most ordered item. Plenty of them come in an order. Love tots but will pretend to be healthy and sub a salad once in a while. Reasonably priced. One caveat is credit cards, more and more businesses are up charging when plastic is used. read more

I tried two lunch meals and was unimpressed. The deep-fried cod had a strong, unfavorable fish taste. The cod resembled cod I would find at a shop. The flavor of the Finger Steaks was quite bland and appeared to have a trace of fish flavor. The tater tots are usually the go-to item for me. Not the best decision at this time. They also had a fishy taste. I reasoned that perhaps everything was being fried in the same oil and that it was past time to change. I've enjoyed my previous visits here. The Lakefront is great when you want a casual meal and/or a good drink. Constantly expanding their menu. I enjoyed my Asian chicken salad and my husband and daughter both loved the pulled pork sandwich. It is not a fancy restaurant, which is perfect for us, since we usually stop here following some sort of outdoor recreation. They always take good care of us here. The view of Lake Cascade is spectacular. They do get busy at times. Remember they have the same staffing issues as do many other businesses in a small mountain town. This place is a pub in Cascade, Idaho. It is exactly what you expect. The food is decent, the service good, and the venue old but with beautiful scenery. Nothing is fancy and that's perfectly alright. We went plain Jane, predictable food today. My husband had the cheeseburger. I had the soup and salad. He gave his burger an a-ok and my soup and salad were just fine. I got the mango vinaigrette and the loaded potato soup. Perfect on this 70 degree day! My salad was made with green leaf lettuce, red onion, tomatoes and croutons. I needed about 1 tsp of the dressing. My soup was warm and filling. I only ate about half. The star of our meals were the fries. Homestyle cut but extra crispy crunchy crust. YUM! We each had 2 draft beers and our total bill was only $34. It wasn't spectacular, but it was exactly what we wanted on this weekend getaway. read more

Club sandwich was amazing but the AC apparently wasn't working. It was a hot day, but no air movement so it felt cooler outside.

It was packed due to the fishing tournament, but worth the wait. Staff was very friendly and our waitress made some great recommendations.

My lunch was not bad. Cold turkey and cheese sandwich on sourdough. Bread was very good. I was raised on sourdough and this was a hit with me. Husband's lunch was just OK. He has a Ruben, asked what bread he wanted he requested rye bread and got sourdough. He ordered fries and was told they were out of fry sauce . Ok, no biggie. But.... When we arrived it wasn't busy, we ordered and got drinks.....then waited. A group of four came in, sat down, got drinks, chatted with their waitress who seemed or appeared to know them..... out comes their food. We were still waiting. Service... not so good. Ambience is hard to be on a beautiful weekend getaway with wife, sitting outside with view of Lake Cascade and busy atmosphere despite Covid. Masks were encouraged but not required. Grabbed a drink from bar while waiting for table. Had an IPA which was good. Wife ordered a delicious pulled pork sandwich with great bbq sauce flavor and coleslaw and amazing tater tots. I ordered a tri tip steak sandwich with grilled onions and mushrooms and cheese smothered with fry sauce and horseradish. Accompanied by onion rings cooked perfectly. Tri- tip was tougher then a 2.00 steak and it was 16.00. My 10 year old son ordered the 25.00 rib eye, huge fat cap and was a horrible grade of meat. Not all negative the soup was good which he devoured. Another positive point our waitress provided amazing service. read more

Entered this establishment for lunch with a party of 10-Family and friends. The staff was very rude, the hot orders were served cold and seasoned with HAIR. The sides were not as ordered and our complaints were met with "we are busy,deal with it." Service was horrible and the food was marginally fit for the hogs.
