Ever hear of Keep It Simple Stupid... They have it down pat. Small menu so you won't spend ten minutes agonizing over what to have. Burgers are generally one of two kinds, A smoosh burger eschews vegetables and is lots of meat and cheese sometimes with grilled onions and bacon. The second type is a crunch burger with pickles, lettuce, tomatoes and onions, usually all cut on the thick side. Think of a very basic salad on a bun that they tossed a patty and cheese on almost as an afterthought, it crunches and makes noise as you eat it. I am definitely in the crunch burger camp, so weight everything else accordingly. This is definitely a smoosh burger place, their main burger, available in single, double or cripple, is meat, cheese, and bacon forward. I asked for pickles, lettuce, tomatoes and onions on mine and the cook is obviously not a crunch burger fan as they were there but sparse. Lettuce is shredded, onions are thinly cut. This said, I did notice something, there was essentially zero Mallard Reaction on the patties. If you do steak, pretty much any meat, Mallard Reaction is when the surface browns and you develop that wonderful flavor. This would have ben a much better smoosh burger with that sear on it. The french fries are closer to what anyone who has traveled to Europe would call Frites... this is a VERY good thing! Not sure how they prep their fries here, but frites are typically half fried, pulled out, go back in the freezer, and are finished later. This given a very crisp exterior, but a center that is very soft and moist, delightful! I have never met a person that dislikes fries like this. This method also leaves the little surface bumps as seen in the picture. So... Good smosh burger but maybe ask for it well done so you get the browning Just okay when turned into a crunch burger unless you are very clear about wanting lots of veggies. We got mini burgers with bacon and cheese and asked them to add grilled onions, which they were happy to do. The fries and shakes were so delicious, and the people working there were very friendly. Nice small town feel in this restaurant and you can enjoy your meal indoors or outside at picnic tables under umbrellas. We'll definitely be back. Friends of ours highly recommend this place. So we grabbed a bite on our way out of town. These must be great burgers and shakes from the looks of the long line that trickled just outside the front door. The service is very efficient and kind. The line goes quickly. We ordered a few classic burgers, which is a double patty . They have a smaller burger, which is just a single patty. They also have an option for triple patty. Everyone also ordered a shake. It was a really hot day and we opted to go sit out on the patio / grassy lawn. They have a lot of covered tables set up under the shade trees. Because of the trees /shade, umbrellas aren't 100% necessary to stay out of the sun, but are a great touch for those sunny spots. The breeze made the seating actually a bit chilly on this almost 100° day. Perfect ambience. While the building and parking lot doesn't look that great, this grassy area to sit and eat a burger was really, really pleasant. A server will bring your food right to your table. She was really kind and brought us extra veggies for those of us that forgot to order them in our burger. A normal burger order is just meat, cheese, and sauce. I highly recommend you get fry sauce to add to your burger and for your fries. The fry sauce was really good. The burger is a dry patty, which I appreciate more than a greasy one. They're not particularly large, but they are thick and you get two in a classic burger. I suggest you spread them a little bit so you have meat coverage across your whole bun. Overall, the burger was pretty good. The fries are OK. They have a special coating on them and our large basket of fries were a little too dry/crispy. The shakes were extremely thick like ice cream. Everyone enjoyed them. When in Cascade, we will definitely stop by again when we're craving a burger. read more

I am going to give this place a 5 star and because while not fancy or hip in any way shape or form this place nailed what they are known for. This is a great stop off joint right in the side of the road in Cascade, Idaho. Pulling up looks like burger joint, smells like a burger joint and delivers on what a burger joint should be. Inside is basic table and chairs and a friendly staff. You order you food at the counter and they bring it out. The prices are fantastic for what you get. Both my wife and I had the same thing the classic thunder mountain which includes 2 burger patty's, cheese, bacon and you choice of condiments. We both decided to get it loaded. Flavor was perfect and well executed. Meat was seasoned right and cooked perfectly and all the flavors went very well together. The key is get it with the fry sauce adds a new dimension along with their cajun sauce. Fries were very crispy and cooked perfectly and love the fact they have all the dipping sauces you could want in their sauce bar area. This was a dam good basic executed hamburger and I love the simplicity of their menu...burgers, chicken strips, grilled cheese, fries and shakes that's it. And the milkshakes are rich and authentic vanilla ice cream with syrup and fillings added - the right way to make a milkshake. The venue is convenient and there are outdoor tables. Bathrooms, tables, and floors are kept clean but the building does show its age some. The employees are always friendly and helpful.
