The food there is always really good and I understand they can't take to go orders anymore because some people complained because they ordered and waited an hour or more and then showed up when the food was cold and they complained about it and posted it on line. This was kind of stupid considering that they're the ones who are at fault not the business. The people who work there are really helpful! read more

I liked this place at first. I especially liked that they put bacon and cheese on every burger unless you ask them not to. Yum! Unfortunately, this year, the quality of the service has deteriorated to the point that it is too much hassle to go in there! The employees are extremely disorganized and sometimes rude. They have messed up my order every time, even though I didn't request any changes to their basic menu items. They have lost my order a couple times as well. Once I dropped in for a burger on my way to work, I had an hour til I had to be there, and they lost my order then messed it up. It took the entire hour just to get my food. I won't be going back until they make some changes in management. read more

Fantastic burger! Great fries and fry sauce! Delicious meal under the shady trees after a day on the lake. I would highly recommend this place. Fresh made patty, each patty is 1/6th lb, menu is pretty straight forward. Order a mini-1patty, classic-2patty, triple-3patty. All come with bacon, cheese, ketchup and lettuce. Looked appetizing as we passed on our camping trip. Cam on a Saturday evening and can't say we are pleased with the service. The reviews stating disorganized, mid-managed, and poor service is absolutely accurate. Guess the labor shortages have hit this place as well cause they could use a chef with some leadership and management skills. Been here 45 minutes and have yet to see my food. Seems promising, but when you have the restaurant managed by a group of 18 year olds who are challenged by a busy night of orders, things can go haywire and take much longer than expected. We were out and about checking out camping sites around the lake and were hungry. Had heard about Thunder Mountain and have driven by countless times, so decided to try it out. We each ordered a classic with lettuce, tomato pickle, mayo and mustard. I got the combo and my wife got a small fry. Nice sized burgers, with plenty of the add-ons piled on. The French fries were just the way we like them. Fast, friendly service was a bonus. We took the food to the lake to eat it, as it was a great afternoon to sit out and eat. The fries were really good. Wish I could say the same for the burgers. We had two of the single patty burgers. They all come with cheese, bacon, "fry sauce", and ketchup. You can choose to add other items. We added onion, lettuce, tomato. Unfortunately, by the time they put the sauce and ketchup on the burgers, the bun was soggy and unappealing. It made the burger hard to eat and we couldn't taste the hamburger for the soggy additions. We had heard good things about Thunder Mountain Burgers but we're definitely disappointed. read more

This place was a gem. Only place in town that offers Gluten Free anything and it was all delicious. Best of all was the friendly service from the counter as soon as we walked in, making the feel of the place instantly inviting and warm. So we showed up to try the burgers, which apparently it's standard to get bacon on your burger (my friend was really digging that!). Just off Hwy 55 in Cascade, this restaueant has a relaxed atmosphere, convenient location and great burgers and fries!

We were big fans of the previous establishment- café 55. When we saw the location had reopened with a new name and concept we were excited to give it a try. The décor was updated- looks nice. The menu consists of a burger and fries- they tell you what they put on the burger and you have to tell them what you do not want on it instead of you telling them what you want. Confusing and it shows when our orders did not come out right. All burgers come with cheddar cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickle and special sauce- maybe onions too, I am not sure. You do get to choose how many patties you would like. They are hand made patties, but really small. The burgers were just OK- nothing special. The fries were really good. The negatives: over priced for what you get, we ordered shakes but they were more like a frosty- not bad but not a milkshake as they did not put in any milk- just mixed soft serve with chocolate. The other issue was the atmosphere- lots of flies and when we said something to the staff they said "yeah, they are super annoying" and did nothing about it. Shortly after we ordered several staff members arrived and gathered around the front counter to chat and hang out- super loud and disruptive. I felt like I was in a high school hang out. All in all, not too bad but not worth the stop unless I am super hungry and just HAVE to have a burger and the Whistle Stop is closed. read more
