It was all I could do to not ask for one of each. In the end, me and the middle child got chicken tacos. Always a toss up, are we going to get stewed to death meat or tasteless chicken chunks that are tough as shoe leather. Not to be had here. The chicken had a perfect sear and caramelization with a good dose of seasoning. To our surprise, not only was the green salsa fresh, but there was a nice pile of caramelized onions and peppers right next to the tacos. What a welcome addition to the plate! They added a sweet flavor to the tacos when we plopped them on top and they compliment the slightly tangy green salsa. They have a lot on the menu, and they make it all from scratch so it isn't Rocket fast... But it was worth the wait. Great job!

The owner didn't handle the stress well but she was prioritizing getting the food out when it came out of the kitchen. After that, forget about any service like a refill on the overpriced sodas ($3.50). The food was fairly good and reasonably priced in these days of Bidenomics. However the chips looked like they were from a bag and the salsa didn't have that flavorful bite of a premier salsa. The bean dip was good and likewise the refried beans; homemade. Rice was typical; fluffy but bland. The Shrimp Fajitas had decent sized shrimp and a delicious buttery sauce. The Pescado de la Veracruz was tasty and the Pollo a la Chipotle was very spicy. I also tried a house margarita and it was good and value priced. Atmosphere was spartan with some Mexican decorations and music was playing. This is a favorite of the locals, evident on a Friday night. But they close at 8:00 PM so arrive early. One of my pet peeves, not unique to this Mexican restaurant, is not receiving an itemized bill to check against what the posted menu prices are (especially in today's inflationary environment). So I did an estimate on my phone and it seemed correct. But I hate a single price including tax and no itemization. I asked the owner to look at her order ticket but she refused to let me, again she was stressed out. Trusting the business to get the bill correct without itemization is a bad business practice.

The Good - the food and prices. Their street tacos are priced affordably and were top notch. Taco Tavos is more affordable than the other stop I regularly make, so will definitely be my go-to if I'm in town during their business hours. The Meh The hours are shorter than other trucks, but hey it's a small business and they get to choose how they want to operate. No criticism here. At the time I visited, cash was required. A vendor did happen to be there at the time and was trying to sell them on a card machine, so we'll see.

I had the pleasure of eating one of the best burritos have my life. It was delicious Tinder perfectly balanced, and the taco shell was everything you want. I look forward to trying their tacos and other face food! The other amazing thing is it was only $6!!! Tacos for $1.25 I mean, you can't lose!

First let me start by saying that we have been looking for authentic Mexican food in the area and…read morewe have always been disappointed- at least until today. My son found Tacos El Rey right here in Caldwell, and while the menu is small, it is legit. The asada tacos were delicious; the meat was tender and not fatty at all- my son got the chicken flautas plate and he enjoyed them, and my daughter got a chicken quesadilla which she also really liked. The salsas were delicious too. The price point is decent- we paid around 50 with tip and sodas, which isn't bad in our opinion. They were friendly and the food came out fresh and fast. The place itself isn't huge, and I imagine it can get crowded but we went for lunch on a Tuesday and it wasn't bad at all; nothing fancy, but it has a decent amount of seating. Overall we really enjoyed it and would definitely go back.

Guacamole and all meat was fresh. We tried the tacos with carne asada, pork, and birria options. All very tasty. The jalapeño tacos were a standout. The jalapeños were actually not very spicy, despite having the seeds still in them. This was nice because you could actually taste the sweet flavor of the jalepenos. Please don't judge the storefront by its cover. It's a small, simple place, but the food more than makes up for it. The place was under some interior construction, but they were still open and service was great.

One block off the main thoroughfare, this restaurant is located next door to The Dog Spa. It's a small place but don't let that stop you from giving it a try. They used to operate out of a food truck in another part of Homedale and have migrated to having their first permanent location. I believe we were told they moved in here in October of 2022. It is a place that has a meat counter for Mexican delicacies, but there are about 6-7 tables where you can dine in and enjoy some great tasting food. My wife and I both ordered the Pollo Asado plate along with a side of guacamole and some fried jalapeños. I can honestly say that everything was prepared very well and have great flavor. The chicken was seasoned perfectly and the guacamole was obviously made fresh. That, in itself, was a bonus. No mass produced guacamole! The rice and beans were a perfect portion size for the meal, and the three tortillas were soft and warm. We both left satisfied and not over stuffed! There is a small area where they sell tortillas and Mexican spices. This is good to know since we like to make our own Mexican style sauces at home. We love supporting small business whenever we can. Next trip we're gonna have to try the Jalapeño taco. They made them sound very tempting while we were eating our meal!

Located right on 44, it seems to have plenty of parking in the back and a few parking spots in the front. It is a free-standing building, nice enough curb appeal, and inside the seating is ample, with a combination of booths and tables. There is a drive-thru with an awkward set up. The pick-up window is located out in the seating area, so that the staff have to walk across the restaurant to deliver the food to the people ordering. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. Both the female and the male employees were very nice. My wife ordered the carnitas plate and I ordered the Shrimp a la Diabla. My wife thought her carnitas were a little crispy, as in over-cooked, but she did say that the meat was not dried out. She enjoyed her meal. I enjoyed the sauce of the Diabla dish; it was spicy enough. What I would have preferred as more mushrooms and a lot less of the thickly cut onion slices, which I don't care for and actually don't agree with me, if eaten in quantities. I would have also preferred more mushrooms, which I do enjoy. Still, the shrimp were plump and well-cooked, and there were plenty of them. Also, contrary to some reviews, we thought that there dishes offered plenty of food. There were flies in the restaurant, which are a real turn-off for us. Once we moved over under one of the ceiling fans, it did not seem like a problem. All in all, a good first experience. We will definitely be back.
