As a long time McCall resident I went to have a drink and listen to music. The bartender was beyond horrible. He was so bad it was almost impossible to get a drink. I heard him say he only works Tuesday thru Thursday so we went back tonight to hear Jeff Crosby (great artist) and the service was better but between the Trans flag and man in a mini skirt by the front door I realized that the old foresters is long gone. They held a drag show last Sunday I found out tonight and I am sickened that the other residents of McCall allow this woke crap to go on in this town. McCall never used to be this way but the decline is heartbreaking. From a 5th generation Idahoan I will never spend another dime at Forresters or any other business that supports woke bullshit. read more

Keep your personal belongings close. Had my husband's wallet stolen in plain sight. Two local males orchestrated the theft and we also believe the bouncer of the bar was in on it. Foresters staff was incredibly unhelpful. We will never step foot in this establishment again nor recommend it to anyone. read more

Went in for some drinks! Loved the back game room. Bartender was very nice. Our group had a great time.

This bar is pretty divey. Not in a horrible, afraid of getting killed kind of divey but a cool, old, dark kind of divey. We came here to get a bloody mary and watch the Winter Carnival parade. We got prime window seating to watch the chaos. It was great! Now all we needed were drinks. Service was slow and it wasn't busy at all. I ordered two bloody Mary's and the total came to ten. Cool! The Mary's weren't that great but they worked. Round two I went to a different bartender and my total was $21.00 for three. Now I am horrible at math but I am smart enough to figure out that the price is off. $2.00 more per Bloody Mary and the cup was smaller. If it is one thing I can't handle at bars, it is prices varying on the same drinks. I could have gone to a swanky drink spot and paid that for an extra special bloody with bacon! Next time I will. Besides the drink prices fluctuating with the outside temperature, the bathrooms were horrible. I know, dive bar, what do I expect? I expect a bathroom that doesn't have a backed up sewer system. I did survive. I had a good time watching the parade and mingling with my friends but not sure if I will be back. Looks like a fun place for the late night hours though. read more

POWERTRIP! Foresters is the place to be on Friday and Saturday nights. It doesn't take forever to get drinks and that staff is always super chill. A lot of people talk negatively about this place but it's honestly the dopest place to be. I have 5 reasons to explain why.... 1.) It's cheap, cheaper than yacht club. 2.) This is a spacious bar for McCall, nice couches, super sweet table and huge tv to watch the game. I am confused why the dj booth is directly opposite the tv instead of having the couches on that side for patrons to watch the game. It doesn't make sense. I went for NyE and was thoroughly disappointed the bar made 13 people stand outside at midnight in minus 8 degree weather. They could not have been at capacity and it appeared to be a power trip to show who could have more people standing outside at midnight, the Yacht Club or Foresters. Boo to you foresters for making me spend midnight in minus 8 and a skirt. I did end up getting in at 1:00 a.m. after going across the street to another bar. They hired a band, and unfortunately, the singer was completely schmammered. At that point it was bad karaokee. O well, at least everyone seemed to be having a good time. read more

Wanted to give this place a 3.5. Big place, lots of entertainment. Don't go before 10pm it'll be dead and bartender acted bored. I used to think this was the better of the bars in town until I ordered my usual whiskey soda and a dash of bitters I mean how can you possibly mess that up?! She put peychaud bitters in my drink. after I told her that was wrong she started calling me princess! Then I sat at the bar the bartender went outside to smoke a cigarette and 3 people sat down at the bar for a good five minutes then walked out from not getting service. I've been bartending for 15 years this bar is on my top five biggest piece of shit bars in the United States. I guess they can't mess up a beer so you'll be fine ordering that. Sad part is I'm a local and try to support local restaurants and bars sadly foresters won't get any more of my money. read more

Lots to love about the Foresters Club. First of all, it's sort of dive-y (I absolutely love dive bars), but without the creep factor or the dirt and grime of an actual dive bar. It reminded me a lot of a small town Wisconsin bar, complete with wood paneling, darts, and kitschy decor. The hubs and I decided to do some day drinking during a family vacation to enjoy a little downtime while my mom was busy shopping with my sister and her kids. This was the perfect spot. Our bartender, Travis, was super friendly and helped us pass the time while we enjoyed a few beers on a cloudy afternoon. I was stoked to learn that they do Karaoke once a week, but unfortunately we just missed it. Next time we're in McCall, and I hope there will be a next time, the Foresters Club is definitely our go-to spot. read more

Leah was the only bartender that paid attention to us when there were 3 bartenders. We were ignored multiple times and there were maybe 15 people in the bar. It too bad the bartender that passed us multiple times for anything and everything ( even to adjust his hair - yuk!) would even think that we would like to have maybe. . . A cocktail ( isn't this a bar?) at 8 pm?!?! If I owned this bar I would fire hooters girl for not only an unoriginal costume but lack of customer service. After 30 minutes I only ate the "dots" that were a free bee. So thank you Leah for finally noticing us out of 10-15 people here. I appreciate the joker next to us that went behind the bar to get his own drink. Please people there are lots of other places to get a drink in this town don't succumb to "we may find you worth to serve" attitude. Some of the greatest dance moves I've ever seen happened on this dance floor. Inexpensive drinks for a fun eclectic experience. I had cautioned myself towards going here in the past because some of my friends had poor interactions with other guests regarding race but I think that just varies on the night. Fun place with an old skool feel to it. Spacious with comfy seating. The neon sign outside is pretty awesome and one of the few places in McCall to hang out at night. I was there for their 1yr anniversary/halloween party and they hired an awesome band named Old Man Markley with a folky feel to them. Great place! Only negative to it I think would be the fact that the bar is kind of out of the way and most of the area is a sit down or dance area rather than bar but I guess it's a good change when you want to sit down and have a beer. read more

Singing night! DJ seemed a little overwhelmed but not her fault as much as the Internet was spotty. The singing was raucous and fun.with family and nearly all had 2-3 chances to sing. The crowd was way into it...very nice. Could have used a little service at the table instead of always going up to the bar but it was no bother. Great popcorn! My husband and I were honeymooning in McCall and went into Forresters to play some pool & have some drinks one afternoon. Immediately, we were asked for ID (we were 23 and 24 at the time, so no big deal). He took one look at my husband's ID and told us, very rudely, to get out. The facts that the employee didn't allow us the courtesy to explain were: my husband is in the military, and he is allowed by the state to have an expired ID card due to being on deployment during the time his ID expired. The state issued a two-year-long extension for him, but his physical card still appeared to be expired. What we were hoping would happen is that the employee would look at the BIRTH DATE on said ID card and see that he is of legal age to be drinking (just like all the other restaurant employees in the area had been doing for us all week). He also had his military ID to confirm the state ID was indeed his, and to confirm our story about why he was allowed an "expired" ID card. The employee was VERY rude and made us feel like criminals, when we had done absolutely nothing wrong. And, like I said, he would not allow us to even speak after he saw my husband's ID was expired. We will continue to take our business to other various locations where we are treated with dignity. read more
