As a Realtor, I'm used to vetting contractors, so I gathered five different quotes for this project--including bids from Tytum, Progressive Heating, and Fuse AC. Airmaxx not only provided the best price quote, but their proposal was the most complete. They were the only ones who made the permitting process completely seamless, which was critical for my tight timeline. And great equipment recommendation. The Carrier 37MURA High-Efficiency Heat Pump--it's a "slim line" model, so it has a much smaller footprint than those old bulky cubes, which was perfect for my San Diego side yard. Plus, it uses variable-speed inverter technology, making it really quiet and efficient. The communication with their office was prompt and professional from the initial Yelp inquiry to the final invoice. They scheduled the work quickly, and the installation of the new Lennox furnace was fast and clean. It's rare to find a company that hits the trifecta of best price, highest quality, and fastest turnaround. I highly recommend the Airmaxx team for anyone in San Diego looking for reliable HVAC work!

His tablet has a new technology that measured the room, calculated how much energy is lost through the windows, and accounted for my vaulted ceilings. With this information he then was able to recommend two different models of heat pump that would work well with my solar panels. He expedited paperwork and offered financing at an affordable rate. In addition I was given a veteran discount!

The salesperson who came out told me my ducts were "ripped" and needed full replacement, quoting nearly $6,000. He stated this was the only solution to resolve the smell. After I explained that I could not afford that, he then strongly pushed a $1,300 air purifier as something I "really should" purchase. Feeling uneasy, I sought a second opinion from an independent duct specialist and shared the same photos. I was told the ducts are intact and that the outer layer condition does not impact airflow or cause odor. I was also advised that a rain-related musty smell is more consistent with a moisture issue, such as a roof or pipe leak -- not duct failure. This experience was extremely stressful. Being presented with a costly, urgent repair and then upsold an air purifier -- only to later learn the ducts may not be the issue at all -- left me feeling misled. I would strongly encourage others to seek a second opinion before agreeing to major HVAC duct replacements.

The installation went smooth and passed all inspections with flying colors! Thank you to the West Coast Team for the Great service!

TIMELY- Uriel called 30 min before his arrival and then, arrived at the stated time. This is particularly helpful so I can move my bunny to another room with all of his belongings. ATTENTION TO DETAIL - I saw him place a protective cloth down on the floor before he placed the ladder and tools down. I also noticed there was a bottle of cleaner with his supplies. He cleaned the inside vents as well as the compressor on the roof. He also tied off a loose wire/when checking the air handler in the ceiling. KNOWLEDGEABLE and THROROUGH - Uriel did a complete system check and then, he sat down with me to explain what was done and why. He addressed the concerns I had about some of the prior readings in terms that I could understand and shared tips that will help ensure my system runs at its most efficient. Example: A higher MERV doesn't always mean "better" and can actually restrict the airflow. He said that for my particular system I should use a MERV10 filter and change it every 3 months. He changed my filters and then, left me with two spares to use before the fall check comes. FRIENDLY - In the course of chatting with Uriel, it came up that I might benefit from having more filtered air coming into my condo. He made a recommendation for a part that would replace the standalone room air purifier I currently use. He placed this info into the after-visit summary so I can "research it and see if it fits with my needs and finances." There was zero pressure to make a purchase on the spot. And while this next item has nothing to do with the knowledge or ability of an HVAC tech, I greatly appreciate that he did NOT smell like cigarette / e-cigarette smoke or strong cologne as I have a bunny and people in my family have asthma. Thank you, Uriel, for a job well done.

The heat pump gave us air conditioning in addition to heat - a welcome bonus. Recently, we started hearing a whistling sound and worried that a bearing or other component was going bad. Max Air came out, examined the system top-to-bottom and determined that the ductwork in our house was too small and that the force of air through the ducts caused the whistling. They adjusted the fan to blow more gently and that took care of the whistling. Max Air could have told us we need to replace all ductwork. Instead they found an easy and practical solution for us. We highly recommend them.

They nailed every detail with care and precision, and it's clear they take pride in their work. To me, the most important qualities in any company are trust, honesty, and peace of mind -- and they delivered all three. When the job was done, I felt 100% confident everything had been done right. I searched for a long time to find a company who supplied these and I found Quiet Cool. A little background - I called the number on the main Quiet Cool website and spoke to the main manufacturing location. They are the one's that supply the fan's and I guess they just recently started doing installs. They were very unhelpful and had no idea what they were doing. I got discouraged, as they said our house could not have a fan due to our attic makeup. I had to hunt these guys down to get answers, it was like pulling teeth. So please, avoid the main manufacturing company for the installation and just go to the quiet cool guys. Cut to now, I searched quiet cool on yelp because I wanted to give the manufacturing guys mentioned above a bad review and that is when i found the quiet cool guys. So thankful for the quiet cool guys! I called and right away was met with professionalism and could tell they knew what they were doing. They scheduled us for a complimentary evaluation within a few days and had confidence that our attic would be able to fit the fan. They are the ones who have been installing the Quiet Cool products for many years and they have seen it all! We had Misael, Erik and Victor come out. They checked out our attic, answered my many questions and set us up for an appointment to do both insulation and a whole house fan install, within that same week. They came back for the install and the whole process took about 6 hours. They respected my want for no shoes in the house and they carefully laid plastic down in any area they would be walking. They did the install, gave us a tutorial, again answered my many questions and cleaned up very nicely. My husband and I had to do only very minor cleaning after they left, which we very much appreciate! We live in Long Beach area, and these guys are located in Temecula area, but they still service our area, which is so great! We have been enjoying our fan thoroughly. It is hard to tell if the insulation is making a big difference since our attic only covers a portion of our house size, but we are happy we did both. The mornings and nights have been much cooler, getting our house down in temps much quicker and the fan is very quiet. They had a deal running on the fan as well, so we felt the price was fair! We enjoyed working with this company and definitely recommend them!

Steve's assistant, a very polite gal, was extremely accommodating and informative during this COVID-19 chaos and scheduled an appointment for me on Thursday. Steve and I spoke Wednesday and said the schedule was jampacked but he do his very best to have Kevin, who I later learned is his son (father and son, co-owned operation) and an extremely skilled technician, come out early in the morning..
