Worst eggs Benedict I have ever had. Inedible. If you can't even make a palatable hollandais sauce there is a problem.

Ever since the place was sold, the quality of the food has gone downhill. Had the worst raw biscuits that were inedible. At least the waiter took 20% off our tab for the experience. The table was so sticky, it was uncomfortable to touch. Water glasses needed to be pried off. Palmer used to be 5 stars when Karen owned it, we won't be back. read more

wow it is great to see someone else has been to thislittle mom and pop cafe. This little place is connected to the motel and is open daily for breakfast and lunch. We met the owners quite by chance and they invited us to come have breakfast the next time we were around. The food is truly a home cooked meal. You receive a goodly portion of tasy down home food. It is not a fancy place but one to enjoy. There is only about nine tables and it fills up quickly. go and enjoy I know we did read more

Palmers sure has gone downhill probably the worst experience in a restaurant ever. The food was sub par and the dishwasher and prep cook appeared intoxicated and this right after they asked this very pleasant couple to never return from the request of the drunk dishwasher, very embarrassing and shallow of those employees. Used to like the place i will never return and I suggest to anyone reading this not too waste your time and money. I would have placed no stars because they do not even deserve the one star but I had too give one to post my review. Two thumbs down read more

PALMERS!!! Ugh I've always loved your restaurant. The food has always been so amazing and the service always fast regardless of how busy. However today my husband and I stopped in got a table and waited almost an HOUR for our food and it was not as busy as normal. Now we didn't mind because it's usually worth the wait but when our food arrived it wasn't large portions like normal and it was only HALF as good as it usually is. We left still hungry (when we normally both have leftovers) and extremely disappointed especially because we waited soooo long!! My husband mentioned that we could of made the same dishes ourselves at home and it would have been just as good. Nooo this isn't the Palmers we grew up loving. Idk if you got a different cook or low on staff but our hearts are very broken :(. read more

Our first time was on Father's Day. We arrived early before the rush and were seated promptly. We gave our order and it seemed to take quite awhile even though they weren't busy yet. By the time our waitress got our food to us it was luke warm at best. She was busy doing other things and it was apparent the food just sat waiting for her to deliver it. She never came back to see how our meal was or if we needed anything else. The food may be excellent when hot but I can tell you barely warm eggs benedict is not good. Our experience today was terrible. We didn't mind waiting to be seated but once we were, we waited over an hour for our food. The table was sticky. The service was very poor. No one checked on us or offered us coffee. We finally asked about our food and were told it was coming shortly. When it arrived my omelet, potatoes and toast were cold. The one small slice of toast was so dry and hard I could hardly chew it. The potatoes had no flavor with a hard crust on the bottom and mushy on top. My vegetable omelet was just okay. My spouse's gravy and biscuits arrived hot and he said it was not great, but decent. Our bill for two breakfasts and two cups of coffee was $30. For that price, you can have a delicious breakfast with great service at numerous places in Bend. Skip this one. read more

Disappointed in both food and service. Took a friend out for breakfast. Asked if I could have an omelette scrambled but it arrived as an omelette. The completely wrong dish was served to me and my friend's was correct except the wrong toast was served. Mine was brought 10+ minutes later, no apologies, no offer to comp it. Asked for wheat toast which came white and if it was wheat, it was one of those 1 gram of fiber wheat breads. Fried Potatoes were flavorless; no added anything and whatever fat they used to fry them in added no flavor--salt pepper and more salt made them downable. Alll this, and there were only a few tables of people. It was so cold I watched others keeping coats on. For the prices they charge, you can have both ambiance and quality food at other "houses" on the north west side of town. The prices are totally totally out of line with the quality. read more

Palmer's has been one of our favorite breakfast spots in Bend. That being said, today's breakfast was less than good. Over easy eggs were over done. Corned beef hash was burnt and had sausage in it. Biscuit was burned on the bottom. No refills on coffee. Waitress did not check to see if everything was OK. No thanks for coming in when she handed off the check. Very disappointed! In the past, even though they were busy we always got the best of service. I'm hoping that this was just an off day. We'll give it another try and hope for the best. read more

My husband and I and another couple were vacationing in Sun River and were desperately searching for a good restaurant to eat breakfast. Tried one fail in La Pine and not to many choices in Sun River. I checked Yelp and saw two possibilities that were not a chain restaurant. We followed our navigation and drove right past because we did not notice the sign. It was actually a small motel and restaurant. It looked questionable but small groups of people were milling outside waiting to be seated. We gave our name to a very friendly gentleman (owner?)and he said we had about a 10 minute wait. There were chairs outside to sit in plus free coffee and heaters to keep us warm. When we were seated we noticed how clean it was and definitely was crowded. Our food came in a short period of time. I ordered the chicken fried steak and it was delicious. The gravy was outstanding and I think might have some sage to give it an unique flavor. I also loved the potatoes. My husband ordered the omelet stuffed with corned beef hash and a huge pancake. He loved the omelet and thought the pancake was the best he had ever eaten. The other couple loved their meals also. We all had more than enough to bring to Sun River and eat for dinner. Because we so enjoyed our meals we decided to eat there again before we headed back home. The owner again came out and told us we had a 25 minute wait and was very apologetic. Each time he came out to call another group he again apologized. It was not problem for us. We have waited a lot longer for good food. Actually the waiting time was only about 20 minutes. I had the pork chop and my husband had the potatoes and gravy and pancakes. He thought the gravy in addition to the pancakes were the best he had ever eaten at any previous restaurant ever.. The others had eggs benedict and an omelet. Again we all raved about the food and were able to take a lot home with us to eat later. The servers were extremely friendly and because it was such a small place we got to converse with other diners and that was enjoyable. read more

You wouldn't think by looking at this place (when you find it) that their breakfast would be so good. My girlfriend and I have been here twice and we both agree that this place is one of Bend's best kept secrets. Well, I want this secret out. The food is just too damn good to keep to ourselves. We recommend trying their eggs Benedict. My girlfriend is a self-proclaimed Hollandaise sauce snob and she gives it two thumbs up. I can't help but agree. It's average priced, so while not dirt cheap you can expect to pay the same or more at other breakfast diners. In addition, to the great food the service is fantastic!! They are incredibly friendly. The food might take some time to come out because they are so small and tend to fill up, so this is not the place to go if you are in a hurry. Instead, this is the perfect breakfast/brunch (they serve lunch stuff too!) place to go relax, enjoy good conversation, and great food. Small place, but wonderful old-school breakfasts served in individual skillets. Generous portions, fresh-cooked ingredients, and super service. One of the few places in town that serves breakfast until 2pm. They also serve lunch, but as someone who gets up late, I'll be focusing on the breakfasts every time I go there. This was truly a sad day for me. My favorite breakfast place has gone to rest. Wtf happened, really? Well for starters the new owners and their need to cut corners!! I ordered the eggs Benedict, the egg whites were runny and the hollandaise sauce was in a congealed heap on top of the eggs. My boyfriends scramble was scrambled to death and was about half the size they normally would be. His pancakes were over cooked too and very thin. I thought they were whole wheat at first because of the color. I would be extremely embarrassed to let food like that leave my kitchen. We never got refills on coffee. Never saw her again until she dropped the check off. I will say, this is the third time I've been here since the new owners and I just kept telling myself their having an off day it'll get better! But sadly no. I told her that I was not going to pay for my breakfast because it honestly tasted like left overs. She said nothing has changed with the menu but I totally disagree! This is the first time I have ever complained about a meal. She understood, almost too well. If Palmer's keeps this up, they'll be closed in a year. read more

This is my go to spot in bend for breakfast! They use great quality ingredients. Interior décor is nothing special, but the food is really awesome. The parking situation is a tad discouraging sometimes, but it is definitely worth a short walk to eat there. read more

As a young couple (in our early 20's) my boyfriend and I put our name on the list. The host proceeded to sit two older couples that came in after we arrived. The second couple arrived twenty minutes after us and still got seated before us. We proceeded to leave after waiting over 30 minutes and getting picked over. read more

One word: biscuits. Palmer's Cafe makes the best biscuit I think I have ever had. Now to be honest, it always kills me (a little bit) to pay for breakfast, as breakfast food is generally very inexpensive to make and does not typically take gourmet cooking skills. Because of this, I rarely dine out for breakfast. But I am willing to pay for breakfast here. Part of this is the biscuits, part of it is that Palmer's puts just a little more care in everything they make as compared to other breakfast joints. The potatoes are spiced and cooked just right. The eggs and pancakes are great. The coffee isn't anything to write home about, and neither (sadly) are the cinnamon rolls (very, very dry). But everything else is good. And usually, I don't factor service into reviews much. I'm all about the eats. But the service at Palmer's Cafe definitely encourages me to return. I'm certain that if I had griped about anything, they would have rushed to make me a happy customer. I think that's often crappy customer behavior though - it isn't the server's fault that I think the roll is way too dry, after all.
