I am absolutely furious with this salon. I came in for a ONE-TIME tanning session and was never informed I'd be signed up for a monthly membership. They have been charging me every month without my consent. When I called to request a refund, they've made me jump through endless hoops just to get MY money back and still didn't get any response or refund. The assistant manager, Joselyn, was extremely rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional--and she's the one who sing me up for this membership I never asked for in the first place! PBT in North Stamford is the just the worst! I became a member when the owner of Sunset Beach suddenly passed away. I had gone there for 20 years. I have been completely stunned by the way Jachlyn has treated me on 2 occasions now. I went to tan yesterday and was told very rudely that I owed for my May Membership. I tried to explain to her that I had believed this was taken care of and that it was possibly a mistake. In fact in may when I came to tan, I actually had actually given Jachlyn a new for her to apply. She started shaking her head sticking out her tongue, eyerolling to her coworker and ignoring me! I said that I have tanned numerous times since then, at this and the other location and this was not mentioned in fact I had spoke to Nicole about it as well. I stated that I though it may be a glitch in their system on their side and she just very rudely said no. As I was trying to let her know that I really thought that was incorrect, she spoke completely over me, not even trying OR wanting to hear what I was saying. I asked her a couple times to hear me first because we were speaking passed each other. Finally, I asked to speak to Nicole the manager and she no shes not here. I said when will she be back said she was off for 2 weeks but that she (jachlyn) she was the manager. I asked if she would speak with Nicole or leave her a note and/or call the office and she flat out refused. She said I can tan if i pay the $60 bucks. Mind her rudeness and ignoring me is only escalating the situation which was not cool or professional. I wasn't irate or yelling at this girl. I only wanted to speak to someone to look into and she did not care one bit! I was trying to resolve the issue. If I owe it, I owe it but find it strange that since I actually gave my card to her, I really didnt want to be unnecessarily be charged again. I feel that this is more than understandable and since my acct did show paid for June that this was a mistake. She was rude, eyerolling, not even making eye contact, tapping away vigorously on her computer. Her coworker just stood there. I asked if there was another manager at the W Main Location and she IGNORED me. I was very polite about it. I waited and asked again if she had heard my question, again I waited a very uncomfortable amt of time and and repeated, is there another manager to speak to? I finally got so aggravated I video'd her sticking her tongue out and ignoring me. I cannot believe PBT has this person representing them. She actually ignored me like I wasnt there and helped another customer! I have never in my entire life seen someone so inexperienced and rude. I just left and and tried to call the other location for help and Im thinking the phones are connected because I called and someone answered it but never said hello and I can hear someone speaking (its her) in the background. I called 3 more times only to have phone picked up and be hung up on! I cannot believe the abhorrent behavior of this person. She has zero customer service skills and should not be in this role. I had posted a yelp about her behavior on a similar issue a while ago, but after speaking with the corp. office and Nicole I had had my issue resolved to satisfaction and took it down because I don't want to hurt anyone's business. I am NOT in the habit ever of posting reviews either good or bad nor did I want, need or have time for any conflict with this person. WARNING!!!! Avoid the palm beach locations in Stamford CT. The manager Nicole is negligent and she provides zero reasonable care and expectations to the customer. She "allegedly" stole my weddings rings I left behind recently. I walked past her cleaning as I left my room. She cleaned the room, "allegedly". Then the rings were missing on a fact time stamp. They haven't given me any security footage. They won't look at the employee office camera. They won't help me!! They don't even care. The 2 employees at the front desk were great and friendly, But, they seemed to be afraid of the manager and not fully transparent. I just received my police report and found out they lied to the officer on facts. Additionally, simple information I've asked for like confirmation of Nicole cleaning my room so I can list her in the lawsuit as well! It's ridiculous! Listen to this: The 2 employees, on the clock, confessed they didn't clean my room. BUT! The manager is "confused" and doesn't know who was cleaning. She can't tell me who cleaned my room. She just "doesn't know". Every Regional and District PBT manager I've contacted has been rude and the only resolutions from Palm Beach Tan Corporate (....because the CT regional manager was incredibly rude. She called me and immediately jumped into attacking me and saying nicole didn't take my rings. She never even asked to hear my expirence. It was very unsettling). As a Palm Beach Member I've been treated horribly in a crisis matter. Instead of help or resolutions I've been bullyied for weeks by every manager from general to district in Dallas. They call me a liar and expense efforts that try to deter me from my justice. Wouldn't you be concerned about theft in your building as any level of management? I didn't loose my rings in PBT. They were on the dressing room shelf above the wall hooks for your items. They were stollen during my room cleaning. I didnt turn around quick enough Before the room was already cleaned. I've been devastated. I NEVER want someone to go through this. Having something sentimental taken from you in a place where you're putting everything down and completely undressed. I've left my sunglasses before and my cell phone at my normal regular location. Theyve called me each time after cleaning my room. They called me!!! DONT EXPECT THAT FROM THIS MANAGER. SHE WILL CALL U A LIAR AND AID YOU NO HELP. Tip: if I could go back I would have had the officer be more diligent and had him investigate in depth. I didn't know the dishonesty to come from management. I assumed Palm Beach Tan would be cooperative and provide care. I wanted to be respectful of the officers time. I honor our men and women in blue. I simply asked him to just make a full report etc. I didn't enter the building as the officer asked me to stay outside. I also regret that. It wasn't until I saw his police report I saw the employees lied In statements. MORAL OF THE STORY. DONT GO HERE!! LEAVE YOUR ITEMS IN YOUR CAR!!!!! DONT TAKE YOUR JEWELRY INSIDE! WARNING!!!! JUST GO TO A DIFF CITY. ITS NOT WORTH IT! WORST MANAGER NICOLE ! BETTER YET!!! DONT TRUST PALM BEACH TAN!! DONT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS. TRUST ME!!! Go support your local small tanning salon. That's what I'll be doing. In such an intimate business- go where there's honesty and integrity in the company. PBT is not so....as I've been saddened to find out the hard way. honestly never thought much of spray tanning, i thought no matter what you would end up looking fake and ridiculous. WOW my opinion has changed! I cannot believe how real my tan looks from Palm Beach Tanning; in Stamford! Everyone thinks; that i had gone to the beach for a few days, and they loves my tanlines that also look real ;) Nicole is such a sweetheart, she explained SO much to me and uses top notch products. No wonder i look so good; with Nicole; the managers assistance in products, DJ and Chloe assisting me with the best guidance convenient for my skin tone. Still no eye contact, still looking only at the computer, still a stoic, cold face. While I can't speak of any other staff, I will say that Ashley should not work with the customer until she receives some Quality Service skills training. I can only hope she's not the Manager! This is my favorite tanning salon in stamford! I live off Long Ridge Road so it's a perfect location for me. The staff is super friendly and helpful here and the facility is really upscale and clean. All of the beds bulbs are changed as soon as they start wearing down and the beds are always clean. They have a TV in the waiting room (with nice cushiony chairs) and there are lotions to purchase behind the counter and sample lotion packets on a rack on top of the counter. Your bed will always have a clean town and eye goggles on top. There is also a small vanity area with hair ties, baby wipes, after-tan lotion and tisses. After your done tanning put your goggles in the clear container marked "dirty" and your towel will either go in the white hamper or in the little hole on the vanity counter marked "towels". Restroom is located in the back of the salon and there is also a Mystic Tan booth right across from it. If you put your e-mail address they usually have promotions and deals they'll e-mail you. It's kind of pricey to have a membership here although it's definitely cheaper if you choose the "bill my credit card" option. I wouldn't recommend buying individual sessions as they are a waste of money and you definitely get way more for your money if you choose a package. Parking is located in the back or the "front" of the salon. There's usually space but sometimes it can get busy during the day, I recommend going at night (and it's open until 11 pm!) you have a better chance of getting the bed you want and parking. read more

This salon is convenient for me as I live off High Ridge Rd but that's probably the only reason I would return here. The pricing is overpriced at 15 for one tan or 35 a month plus 30 setup. If you only want to go 4 or 5 times they don't offer multipacks. And what's with the new member fee shouldn't they be offering breaks on new members? Several times I received goggles that were not cleaned properly and started using my own. Have been a bunch of times when noone comes out of the back when you enter. I sat there for 10 minutes my first time and they had three people waiting. We had to go search for the staff. Beds and amenities are average for chain salons. Went to cancel my membership on the 25th of the month and apparently you need to cancel before the 24th or your charged for the following month anyway and not allowed to use facilities because you canceled. read more

Definitely would recommend staying away. Rude front desk staff and EXTREMELY overpriced compared to other places I've tried with better results. Absolutely unhelpful staff did not have a price sheet and kept telling me different things every time I asked about the different levels offered. I 100% got ripped off and looked at my back account... got charged over $100 for ONE MONTH. Asked for level 2 and she put in a much higher level bed. Also the towel that was left in there was coated in dried blood that was folded in a way to hide it on a "clean" bed. Highly recommend not joining. Wish I never did. read more

If you can avoid going here please do at all cost. This place is quite frankly a rip off and probably the worst tanning experience I have ever received. They will charge your account without notification. Additionally the staff is complete rude and doesn't know how to hold them selves accountable for there actions nor are professional when dealing with customers. The prices are way more than they should be for the quality of the beds. Additionally you cant start tanning whenever you want you have to start exactly in the begin of the month or you will be charged twice even if you only went a few days out of the month before. When I called to ask about the extra charge and wasn't aware that I needed to start exactly at the beginning of the month they responded with "Well that not our problem". I have never had anyone especially a business treat there customers in such matter. It was disgusting and quite frankly I don't think anyone should give this place there business. If you are looking for a good experience and a place worth your money and time go somewhere else. As you can see the reviews for this places speak enough volume enough and most of them are true to what it says. Below is another tanning salon that you guys should look into because it is way better than this one. Has become the worst place ever. Don't go here. I have been coming to Palm Beach Tan for years and have never had anything bad to say about them at all. This past season my entire experience has been horrible. Before I lay it out I want to make a note on the fact that the only good review this place has received on yelp is from 2013. Don't be fooled into thinking its the same store that it was then. Shortly after the new 2015 year started, the location shifted from franchise to corporate and the quality went to shit. They got rid of the good staff members that I would see there for years and replaced them with a staff that is straight up just trying to sell the most expensive things by lying. I got screwed on lotion. I've been using a lotion that I've found is the best for my skin. I asked to buy it and they said they no longer sold that kind. The girl told me that they replaced it with a new one. The "new one" was 30 bucks more of course and she insisted it was the same thing just packaged differently. It was NOT the same thing. I checked the samples stand they have and found a sample of what I used and she told me it would be a waste cause the sample is '20 bucks' and they only sold them in samples anymore so I should just go with the $60 lotion. I decide to trust her and paid the price. The lotion did nothing but make my skin red. That's it. I figured maybe i just needed a few days to get used to the lights. NOPE. The lotion only ever made my skin bright red followed by not tan. I go back in a week later and find the lotion that I was originally looking for FULLY stocked. They most certainly do still make it and did not replace it with a new label and increase the price by 30 bucks. I complain about it and I'm told I can't return the old lotion. I buy the old lotion and in 3 days show a significant improvement in my tan. I just wasted weeks of this overpriced membership not getting any results because of the lie based sales tactics that they have their staff practice. I find out online later that I could actually return it, but when I go back in they refuse again. They tell me they'll have someone call me. Of course they were lying. So I wasted 3/4 of a month trying to tan in this place because I was lied to and given the wrong lotion, and I can't even get a refund on that lotion at all. If anything I should get a refund on the month AND the lotion because I couldn't get any use out of the month due to the straight up lies that I was told by the staff. read more

This has got to be the WORST tanning salon I have ever encountered. If Tommy's Tanning (located primarily down in New Haven County) would come up to Stamford they would take this place out of business and that I am sure of. Thanks to Palm Beach Tan I look like I never left California. It's clean, the staff is always very friendly and helpful. It's pricey, but you get what you pay for. Only drawback? The 4 pre-selected music stations suck, but at my old place in the SF Bay Area all they played was a country radio station.. at least these don't have commercials. read more

The salon itself is clean and location is convenient however this place is way over priced, I definitely feel like I was ripped off! I went in on the 3rd of the month to get a small tanning packaged before I left for vacation and they didn't have packages. I mentioned that I saw a deal on the palm beach website for only $10 per tan and the girl said that it was $25 per session and basically talked me into the membership. After I paid the ridiculous fee for a membership for 1 month only, the girl continued to tell me that I had the discount off lotion as a new member. When I said that I didn't want any she said "you have to". She was not going to let me go in without lotion, I was appalled! So $25 after lotion (the cheapest they had or so she said) and $65 to get a base tan for a month I sucked it up and went in as much as I could to at least feel like I was getting my money's worth. A week before my month was up I went in and said that I wanted to make sure everything was going to be cancelled on time and that I wasn't going to be billed for an additional month since I wasn't gong to go back. I was told that I had to go through an entire billing cycle which was the 1st through the 1st so I was going to be billed for another month. I joined on the 3rd! I was so angry that they guy told me that I he would get in touch with his manager and figure it out for me and she would email me to get in touch. Still haven't heard from her.....this isn't over! Mentioned this to a co-worker and another co-worker overheard me and said let me guess, palm beach tan....she went on to say she would never go back there because she felt ripped off. NEVER open on time. Not sure why they don't just change their hours. Wayyyyy too expensive for tanning but get away with it because they're the only salon in north Stamford. Wouldn't recommend unless you're desperate. PInk Soda does organic spray tans down town - much better quality, healthier, nicer staff, and can make appointments. If I could give this place zero stars I would! Don't go there! The new manager is just a nasty horrible person! I had a complaint about my subscription which I canceled. I was still being charged. I have worked in customer service and completely know mistakes happen. I went in and this girl was condescending and accusatory. I was taken back by her lack of customer service. I was told to not call the home office looking for a refund. She canceled my subscription and I am still being charged! I have never filed a complaint with the BBB nor have I ever written a bad review about any business, but this girl's attitude and the way I was treated just pushed me over the edge.
