After eating dinner at a restaurant in the Distillery District nearby, I decided to go to Palgong Tea for boba! I went here on a Tuesday around 8:03pm and the boba shop was empty so there was no wait! This boba place is also located inside the DEAF Culture Center which makes artwork that this store is decorated with. We ordered the Jakeman's Maple Milk Tea and Black Sugar Milk Tea. Everything else I wanted was sold out so I had to choose the Jakeman's Maple Milk Tea as my drink. All the drinks were good though, but they are very simple and plain and not as strong in flavor compared to other boba places I've been to. I'd still recommend this place, but maybe go earlier in the day. This place has cute decorations with a bunch of artwork from the deaf center. The drinks we got were good. Next time, I'd go here earlier so I can try the other drinks which were sold out when I went. read more

The tea itself wasn't too memorable. The boba honestly had no flavor. If that wasn't the case I might have rated it higher. The service was quick and the people were nice. Artsy ambiance and limited seating, it was cute but I don't think I'll come back here. read more

A boba place I don't know necessitates a visit when I see one. This one in particular is cool because they seemed to have a partnership with def tea(?) and had a small exhibition on deaf art in Canada. I was over the moon to see they had hot drinks since I was freezing outside. The maple milk caught my eye since it seemed so uniquely Canadian so I got that but was unfortunately unable to adjust the sugar level. It was great but the more I had it, the more the dominant flavor just became a very heavy sweetness. My friend got a roasted black sesame milk and that was just heavenly. read more

Super cute bubble tea please in the distillery district! I ordered the taro slush with tapioca in it. I enjoyed the drink! I loved how the flavour was strong where you could actually taste the drink and not just ice. They also blended it nicely where there were no ice chunks. The tapioca was also please! It was soft enough and had a sugar coating on it. I ordered it during the CoVid-19 period so there was literally no on in there but the place looked really modern and clean. The staff was also really nice there as well! Would I go back? For sure! Especially if I end up at the distillery district again! read more

A boba shop in the Distillery District! It is located in the Deaf Culture Centre building and shares the space with a kiosk that sells related merchandise. The tea shop has really reasonably priced items. Nothing comes with toppings so those are add-ons but with the regular sizes starting at around $3.50, that's pretty good! They have a lot of specialty items including a drink with Jakeman's Maple Syrup and have a special collab with Sapsucker Water that turns their fruit flavoured drinks into "fruit-ade" beverages. A lot of them can be ordered hot or cold so look out for that on the menu as well. I tried an Earl Grey Mango tea on this occasion. The earl grey taste was strong with this one. The mango part that came into play was actually bits of real mango at the bottom! A great replacement for tapioca. Another really cool thing is that they employ individuals that are from the Deaf Culture Centre too. Final bonus - they have some BTS merch for sale. I don't think it was officially licensed but still really cute! read more

Ordered: matcha milk tea (without sugar, 50% ice) The environment is nice but thats about it. The service wasn't friendly at all but it wasn't rude either. The drink I had was awful. I ordered the matcha milk tea and it was poorly blended. I was getting chunks of powder as I was drinking. Also, they advertise that they provide quality tea for low prices. However, their prices don't include toppings. So if you add a topping (tapioca, jelly, etc), the price of their drinks is similar to other places. Nothing about Palgong stands out to me. Their prices are similar to other tea shops and the matcha milk tea I had didn't stand out to me. Maybe I'll give it another try but I'm not eager to return either. read more

We went to palgong tea on a whim since they were passing out tickets to redeem free milk tea drinks. I guess it was their opening day or soft opening. I ordered the oolong milk tea with boba. The drink itself was OK. However, I have never experienced such comically terrible service before. Most of the guests free drinks were made wrong not only once or twice, but three times. The first time they gave me iced black tea. Second time they called out my drink but they didn't call my number. Their order number label stopped working so I just had to guess which drink was mine. They forgot to put boba the second time remaking it. On some other guests drink they forgot to put sweetener completely. If the tickets were only to redeem milk teas then why would they make black tea??? There was no sense of leadership or organization from their staff and their drink station was incredibly inefficient, although the staff was nice and friendly. They shouldn't be allowing customers in if they do not have equipments tested yet or trained their staff. I really hope they get it together by the time they officially open or asap. read more

First time I went there on Sat which was their grand opening I got my drink in 15mins and could understand because there were so many people coming in, and packed The drink was really good and staffs were kind even they looked so busy inside the kitchen I went back the shop yesterday and got the drink only in 3mins. One of the worst services ever. We came on the first hour of their opening. All of our orders were served wrong. They told us at the cash, we were going to wait because their tapioca was still cooking. Not a problem for us. But you would think they would have enough tapioca since it has only been one hour of opening. Anyways, we paid and ordered. Waited for 25 minutes. Our drinks were served without the tapioca?! We clarified and told them we asked for tapioca, to be told we had to wait another 30 minutes. Come on, you guys should have done a run through. This is an embarrassment. In addition, this place was a collaboration with the Deaf Culture centre. What a disappointment. Orders were being called out even though some people cannot actually hear..... get your staff trained to work with Deaf clients before opening a business. Get your stuff together! read more

We stopped by here while we were in the area. I was craving for some sweets and thought this tea shop in the distillery district looked interesting. I didn't feel like getting any of the tea so I went straight for the pastry selection. The selection there was pretty standard: some muffins, cookies, macarons, and scones. I opted for the maple sugar scone. It tasted a little stale and a bit old? I'm not sure if it's the baking powder taste or because the scone has been sitting there for a while... there's an after-taste to it. Overall the maple flavour didn't come up really strong and the scone in general was very average. I'm always on the hunt for new places in Toronto. I feel like having an Asian tea shop in this part of the city would be great considering there are many condos in the area and possibly more in the future. However, they really need to beef up their offerings. The interior of this store is really nice with lots of natural light and I could see it as a nice hang out area. It could do so much better if they put more thought into competing in Toronto. read more

Tried the strawberry green tea and found it quite refreshing. I think they do the fruity fresh teas quite well. My s/o tried the milk tea and it was just okay. I think they need to brew the tea stronger to get good milk tea flavour. On the other side of things...I was really pleasantly surprised to see they hired a def barista. She was super hard working and communicated order numbers with hand gestures which took me a second to que in but after it was very easy and quick to understand. Props for them for hiring and proving that those with disabilities arent actually "disabled". I also find their prices reasonable compared to many bubble tea spots these days. I went to the opening yesterday. We had to wait a bit outside as there were many many excited people to try out this location. The employees were all very friendly and hard working. The space is huge, clean and very inviting. I chose to order a mango slushie instead of doing the promotion deal. It was so refreshing and delicious. It was the perfect combination of ice, mango and sweetness. If it wasn't so busy, I probably would have ordered a second one. I also got a lemon meringue tart. It was huge and one of the best lemon tarts I ever had. It was the first day it was open so it was a bit slow, but that happens when you go to any grand opening, and is to be expected I can't wait to go back again and try out some other items. read more

I tried their Earl Grey and it was amazing. I've tried Earl Grey at other places, but most of them can't get the balance between tea flavour and sugar correct. This is one of the few gems and I'm glad they opened a location in Canada. I'm definitely coming here again. read more

I don't think the tea was great, but I don't think it was horrible. I liked their smoothies but their milk powder was definitely not dairy free. The price is fair but meh I've had better. I agree with a lot of the things mentioned by people on here but it's a little harshly said lol I feel bad for all the ones that waited more than half an hour during grand opening, I'm glad I wasn't in line. I would not have waited that long. I agree with the last part that @Cable G wrote: "Next time do a pilot run and get all your ducks in a row first. Don't just jump in without any training, any trial of your equipment or any PLAN OF ACTION. Being nice and apologizing while doing a horrible job still earns you 1 star. What you should have done was stop new orders / stopping business for 1 hour to re-plan instead of constantly pissing off more people." read more

Walked by the store during their opening. They lured in our group with their grand opening promotion. We waited about 30 minutes outside and once we got in, we waited another 10 until we ordered. We then waited nearly an hour for our drinks. Many which were not what we ordered. Half of our drinks were either missing the tapioca or were not sweetened. Your standard bubble tea place. The drinks are pretty good. The tapioca are good texture. The fruit jelly are nice and crunchy. The staff are friendly and accommodating as I always bring my own container. I come back regularly for my bubble tea or slushy fix. Taking off a star as the menu is kinda limited in flavours.
