Due to their poor hospitality I'm sorry to say I'll never be back. There was a problem with my drink, it was so watery it just tasted like hot water with a splash of cream. It was almost clear and colorless like water too. I tried to show the staff but they weren't interested in looking at it and explained to me (condescendingly) several times that they had made it perfectly. I tried to explain that I'd ordered it in the past and this time there was a problem, this drink wasn't anything like normal, but they wouldn't listen or look at the drink. Come here often. Nice cozy cabin feel and they serve my favorite coffee... Stumptown. The lattes are beautiful! The service is great. They also serve beer! The pastries they carry are awesome and they usually have 1-2 kinds of gluten free muffins too! I get ground coffee here for the office but occasionally for office meetings I will get a to go carafe package. They will fresh brew coffee into an air pump urn and send you with all the supplies you need. Cups, sugar, honey, cream: all placed into a rustic wooden box. It is great!! It runs around $25 but is so much better than those brown cardboard boxes you can get from other large coffee places. The coffee stays nice and hot for hours and the box of supplies is so attractive! You can take back the carafe and box of supplies later int the day or the next morning! This place is truly special. read more

I'd been searching for THE bend coffee shop, and for me, this is it! I have a dairy and gluten allergy and having worked in coffee I'm always on the hunt for a shop that knows what they are doing. Not only did the espresso taste good, but the milk was foamed perfectly. I was on the hunt for unsweetened matcha, a no dairy mocha and oat milk and I found ALL of it at palate. Toss in awesome customer service and a gluten free muffin that I didn't expect to be nearly as good as it was and you have my new favorite coffee shop. Hands down the best coffee I have ever had. A true gem in Bend. They use Coava beans and I couldn't get enough. I loved their cardamom syrup which they steeped IN HOUSE. Stopped in early this morning and couldnt have been more satisfied with the atmosphere and coffee. Open at 6am which is great for us early risers, close proximity to the river for a walk, and the cabin-esque feel is the perfect way to start the day. I had an Americano which was great. Also not too hot which i appreciate so I dont have to wait 30 minutes to drink it. Plenty of delicious looking pastry and muffins; however, i didnt indulge. I've been wanting to try out Palate because I am always looking for a good coffee shop. While it's a little silly to admit it out loud (or typed), I also wanted to see the rock hotel. The rock hotel was worth it! The fireplace that I sat in front of was not turned up which would've been nice for the cold and rainy day. I enjoyed the art on the walls and there are a lot of spots to sit and sip on your drink. I came in about an hour and twenty minutes before closing, but the "coffee for here" was lukewarm, at best, and a little too bitter for me. I also ordered the bagel with cream cheese and it was tasty. It appears there's a food cart/truck somewhere as people brought in non-bakery type food, but I did not see where to order that from. Overall, a decent space. A little warm-up on the coffee and fireplace would have brought the experience up a notch or two for me. read more

What a gem of a coffee shop in Eugene, Oregon! I'm jumping on planes, driving rental cars, staying in hotels... a girl really needs to stay caffeinated on my current schedule. In hunting for a coffee shop near to my lodging, I came across this local joint using my trusty Yelp app. SCORE! So delicious - and then I found out the had a Yelp Elite Event there a few months back too. Coincidence? Fate? Does the Yelp Siren call to me? Perhaps... I settled in to meet a few peeps in succession and my favorite drink while there was a peppermint iced tea. Super refreshing, no need for any sweetener. The tables along the right hand wall don't have plugs if your laptop is in tow - just a note! The service was great, they roast onsite, cool local art on the walls and hip hop in the background. This place was right up my ally and I hope you try it if you're ever in the area. As of yesterday (per their website) their seasonal pumpkin flavors have started too. If the owners of Palate intend to create an atmosphere akin to serving up a piping hot cup of sullen angst, then congratulations, you've hit your mark. I get the whole "chill-hip-fresh" thing, but this isn't NYC or Seattle - it's Bend. One would expect this attitude from an indulged teen, having just been asked to clean their room, but certainly not from a 30-something barista ostensibly employed in a customer service-related field. Here's a tip: try forcing a smile and uttering the words "thank you" at the conclusion of a transaction. From a product perspective, Blushing Bride's Americano was undrinkable. Adjectives that were applied were "sour", "bitter" and "weird". On a positive note, my black Stumptown drip was fresh, hot and good...as good as I could have easily obtained at several other local shops...without the attitude. Also, their free Wi-Fi was fast. This is the best espresso in Bend. Baristas are skilled and friendly and take their time. I've had espressos where they took three or four and tossed them before handing me the one that merits their approval. Coffee nerd awesomeness. Ambience is all chill and Macs and fast wifi. I've been waiting for the perfect day to come to this coffee shop... and say today was that day :) I parked my bike at their double bike rack right in front of the shop. It felt a little warm as I entered, but it might just be because I was biking. It smelled wonderful inside like baked goods and coffee. YUM! The barista wasn't overly friendly... but it might be because the last 3 times I got coffee I was at Dutch Bros where they are crazy excited all of the time. I ordered a soy vanilla latte, my favorite. The barista told me that they go lite on their syrup which is perfect because I always ask for half the amount of sweetener. The female barista was really very nice. My problem this was with the doppio I ordered (that's a double shot expresso). It was Not close to a double shot. Rather a small single.
