Jason and Jodi worked at my girlfriend and I's local coffee shop before opening Palate. They were always our favorite baristas there. Last weekend on a trip to Bend we got to visit them there and see Palate for the first time. The coffee is better than they have ever made me before and the space they have built is fantastic! Hard not to give this place five stars. For us the location was terrific as it's literally across the street from the small hotel / B&B where we were staying. They are meticulous to a fault with their coffee making, and the end result is good. I like the look of the place, and finally, they also have beer, including at the time a great stout that we put on a growler for later consumption. If you're nearby, this is where you will want to go for your coffee needs. You can thank me later. read more

We bought a pound of coffee for a friend here and the baristas were great. Answered all of our questions about the coffee we were buying and were very friendly. We enjoyed a cup of regular coffee, an americano, and a hot chocolate. All were great. Atmosphere was very nice. Will come back again next time we are in town. read more

good coffee ( stumptown) good service......the staff was friendly and did not have any attitude....I find that some places when ...it is just coffee...Do not get me wrong I take my java pretty serious but not to the point of needing to be all hipster. They also have Aeropress which I am a big fan of. free wi-fi, nice tables of wood and interior is bigger than it looks from outside. Also nice outdoor seating......I will be back.. This is a local hide away coffee spot great little shop to relax and read . Excellent coffee , full body and well brewed , totally enjoyed my latte made to perfection . I did order a croissant which they get from foxtail bakery. This is something I frequently purchase originally from Fox tail when they were open and now at local coffee shops that are carrying their product typically best croissants in Oregon. Unfortunately , i received one that was not correctly cooked all the way through. It was wet and gloppy in center which is not the characteristics of a croissant. Being a baker myself I'm very familiar with the texture and how they should be prepared. I found it interesting that the owner was very persistent telling me this is the way that they're supposed to be. I felt like he was gaslighting me , yet he was very nice in some ways by appropriately giving me a refund. I just feel in the future he should not assume that the customer is not aware of how a croissant quality should be . At times croissants can get brown on the outside and not be completed in the inside to have the nice airy texture flackery which Foxtail, bakery is known for. Things happen , just acknowledge it . My boyfriend and I stayed across the street at the Mill Inn for a few days and only managed to come here once due to the abundance of coffee shops! I originally came in for an iced mocha but it was hot outside so I opted for the green tea. Beware that the green tea is a lavender green tea, which I was unaware of, I didn't mind it but some people may not prefer to drink flower flavored tea :) if we ever come back to bend then I will be back to try their coffee! read more

Great service and attention to detail when they make their drinks. If you enjoy a good traditional espresso, this is the place to get it. Delicious lattes; taste can't me beat in bend. Over priced though....holy cow! 1$ extra for hemp milk in an 8oz latte. When I ordered I said are you serious. Server responded w it's really expensive to buy. I know it's 2.25$ for carton so uhh they're banking on alternative milks. I walk little further to strict. I just relocated to bend and i've had nothing but amazing experiences at every coffee shop i've been to- dutch bros, companion, backporch,... so I thought i'd try palate because it's super cute!! I spent $5.50 on an iced vanilla latte with almond milk (my usual) and for some reason, the espresso with the almond milk they use tasted awful so I just asked if they could remake it with regular milk and they said "we don't remake things here, you're going to have to buy another one." i spent $5.50 on a latte that doesn't taste good and they won't remake it? i've never been to a coffee shop where they won't remake something if a customer isn't satisfied. i'm extremely disappointed in the customer service, especially for the price i paid for my drink. won't be returning- there's a ton of another 5 star coffee houses in bend i'd rather support!! read more

My favorite coffee shop in town. They make an excellent cup of coffee and pull great espresso shots... always consistent. Plus, both the owners Jason and Jodi are super friendly. They make you feel like you are family and brighten my day every visit. --the only downside is no changing table if you have a baby...... but i can't think of a coffee place in bend that has one. read more
