I did my entire house with tile and George was able to provide me with a reasonable price/options for my whole house. They have much better options and better prices than a local store like Home Depot. They also offer delivery to the surrounding area, and are very flexible and willing to work with you. I am extremely thrifty...Hassan had to look up all prices because nothing is marked(1st clue) He told me this tile was $1.99 per sq ft so I repeated twice $1.99? I made him repeat it twice as well because it was a good price for decent tile. I had him call to make sure it was in stock. It was and he can get it in 2 days. I went to quality granite(his recommendation) to choose my granite and quartzite for Hayssan to install on my counters and well I didn't have time to go back to order my tile.I called him later to tell him I would be in the next day to place the order. Next day, I called to tell him I was on my way. Hassan then tells me that he is ready to order my $3.49 tile . WHAT?! Where did 3.49 come from. I explained that I wanted to 1.99 tile that I took off the shelf that he priced for me when he followed me through the show room. It was the absolutely only tile that I even picked up in the store. He said he would have NEVER told me that the tile was 1.99. Said he'd never tell someone he could get that price...He said I was confused .....seriously? ..So I quess the thinks he is the only one that can get that tile???? Hassan, you have lost not only the $2000 tile+supplies sale but another tens of thousand dollar quartzite installation sale. I am helping my parents with their home renovation. Both are in their 70's, have never done this before and are on a very limited budget. We searched high and low for several months for a business we could trust and afford. Then we met Barak at Palata Tile. We learned of Palata after leaving another vendor just a few streets down. I saw Palata's advertisement on their window as well as all the parked cars so I thought what can I lose! 1. Customer service- Barak was really a pleasure to work with. We came down to the store a few times to compare them to the others on 9th street and several other vendors in LA and Orange County. He always acknowledged us and even when busy made it a point to tell us he would be right there to help. We let him know what we were looking for as well as our tight budget. He provided us with several options and suggestions and really tried to work with us. Weeks later after we did our comparison shopping, we ordered a beautiful laminate floor for mom's living room and bedrooms and porcelain tile for her kitchen and dining room. The Laminate was not in stock and so Barak had to order it. I requested to pick up our tile and laminate floor a week later. When our contractors arrived at my folks house they said they needed it much sooner than that. I called Barak in a panic and he was able to have all items ready the next day :-) Can you believe that!!!!! 2. Value- like I said I really did my shopping for months before we chose Palata Tile. We even went to Hernandez Brothers, HD Supply, Lumbar liquidators and at least 4 other flooring places including 1 that a contractor recommended just a few streets down from Palata...The prices and the quality of the laminate and tile at Palata really cannot be beat. The parentals have been so impressed with Barak and Palata that they have recommended both to our family and friends!!! read more

Palata's prices are fair and a kitchen install is priced reasonably. The original estimate I got was about $1500 short. I primarily worked with George, who is a friendly salesman but I think he might have too much on his plate because there were several miscommunications that caused me to run back and forth between Anaheim and Upland. Additionally, there are several things that were never mentioned but are good to know if you're planning on making purchases. Kitchen: 1. They cut the countertops onsite and everything will be completely covered. 2. They remove your appliances from your old kitchen, but don't hook anything back up (hopefully everything fits). 3. Cabinet hardware and sink faucet does not come with the install so you must do that yourself. 4. The items you pick out for your kitchen might not work last minute and they will install before letting you know. Flooring: 1. Order extra and count the number of boxes that you recieve on the palettes because they may be incorrect. 2. The flooring is not delivered so you will need to have a truck or rent a Uhaul to deliver it yourself. 3. You need to know exact measurements and types of moulding that you will need (the salesmen aren't knowledgable). 4. If you need to order more flooring, the minimum is sometimes 1 box and sometimes 3 boxes depending on the day. I would suggest to get everything in writing and to order a few extra boxes of whatever you need. I wish I knew this ahead of time. I am giving 1 star because the total order ended up costing me hundreds extra in gas, Uhaul rental, and handyman labor. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience and I won't be returning. read more

Just getting around to write this review. Actual work was performed roughly a year ago. When it comes to hiring someone to do some type of job for you, no matter what they do right, it's the work that they don't do well that sticks with you and you remember the most. That is what leaves a lasting impression. Unfortunately Palata Tile did not stand behind their job even though they claim a 1 year warranty. Such is the case with the work they performed for us. First, what they did well. We hired Palata Tile & Stone to lay flooring tile throughout our complete home and perform a complete kitchen upgrade. I provided the tiles for the floor and that was performed well. The kitchen upgrade (i knew the cabinets would not be high end at the price we were purchasing them at) but all that came out well also and so far they are holding up. White Kitchen Cabinets with Brushed Nickel Hardware. Looks Nice. Now what they did not do well. First gripe, they seemed to provide a good price for installing baseboard trim and so I agreed to have that done. But they did not paint the baseboards. What home owner wants baseboards installed but not painted and I think if a customer is requesting to have baseboards installed, they are also expecting them to be painted! If paint was not included in price, they should have explained that to me in the beginning. Second gripe, i distinctly remember asking for under cabinet lighting. Once all cabinets were installed, they did not do any under cabinet lighting and stated they do not do electrical. And now the biggest gripe. The Backsplash that I had installed was done very very poorly. Once the installer had finished i pointed out the poor work and he got angry at my wife and raised his voice ( i was unfortunately not there at the time). He stated that we need to clean it up. Who installs tiles and then tells the customer they need to clean it up. I contacted Palata multiple, I mean multiple times and even spoke to them face to face, each time they claimed they will fix it and send someone. As soon I leave their establishment or get off the phone with them, nothing. They just ignored me. I think they were hoping I would eventually just give up. If they come on here an reply and state they did contact me, let me tell you that is not true at all! I am going to post pics of the horrible job that the installer did. I wonder if he has ever installed tile before. If you decide to get your work done by Palata Tile, I recommend you get everything you want in writing and review it very well. My mistake was paying them before the fix was completed. I unfortunately believed them that they would fix it because they are very friendly and state, Oh don't worry, we will take care of you. Please look at the photos. All the backsplash is that bad. Would you consider this a professional job? Would you be happy after spending so much money and you end up with this? Now I am going to have to eventually remove them and get new tiles put in. Leave comments if you think I am way off and that you think it looks great. read more

This company is exceptional. As a contractor I have high standards yet Hayssam and his professional and friendly installers exceeded my expectations. My wife and I visited their large showroom to select new flooring for our entire home. He patiently answered all of our questions and allowed us to bring home samples. He later visited our home to take measurements and gave a competitive bid. Our project was completed 3 days ahead of schedule and they were incredible putting all our furniture back in place, not an easy task. Their attention to detail with elevations, transitions and molding was beautifully done. I had my whole house tiled by palata. Zack did our installation of both floor and shower. After installation , there were problems with grout: inconsistent color, depths, cracking, pinholes . After, request to have owner , Magic, to come and look at grout problems, he blamed everyone but his installers. Got a referral from a friend to go here. They have a special for a 10x10 kitchen with granite and sink for $3900. Installed. Also went looking for a deal on tile. Barak was helpful and patient both times we visited. The other employees greeted us upon arrival. You can't even get helped at some of the other places on 9th street. They have plenty of quality products to choose from cabinet choices no matter your budget. Lots of tile choices as well. We went looking for tile that looked like wood planks. Biggest selection I've seen. Lots of choices for counter tops too. My only complaint is the area where they have them is too dark ( needs more lighting), makes it hard to see the beauty. They have quartz, granite, marble, crushed glass etc. Busy on the weekends. Great time to go is during the week if you can. read more

I bought all my flooring for my new house at Palata. My sale's person is Hi Sem. Sorry I have no clue how to spell his name but that's how you say it. He has coordinated my carpet, tile, and baseboard installer. It's a big project and he checks on me daily with updates. The carpet guy is amazing!!! He arrived at my house at 6am and left at 11pm just taking a very short lunch and dinner break. He also drove from Los Angeles and has to pick up the carpet before arriving and dump the old carpet after leaving. I've never seen anyone work so hard and so such a great job. I have bullnose stairs and I know they weren't easy. Zack is my head tile guy. Poor guy it's a huge job. All of downstairs is tile, I chose one that is her to lay and my dining room has two spots where it connects to other rooms. I thought there is no way he will be able to line it up without having a thin row of tile, but he and his guy (sorry I don't know his name) are perfectionists! If you get tile there make sure you ask for Zack to lay it! Most tiles have a round edge, mine is straight and makes laying it much more tedious b/c there is no room forever. Also my floor is very bumpy. These guys are doing an amazing job. It's taking longer than we all expected and there's the added pressure that I'm moving in on Saturday but it is worth it! On top of it all I had all new baseboards put in. They were supposed to be done after the tile but I needed them in the bedrooms sooner so we can start moving furniture upstairs. Hi Sem sent out a great team. Poor guys didn't see that I had corner baseboard so they custom made them the sleeps and they look beautiful. So far my job is not complete but I'm impressed with the work so far and I am not easy to please. We chose a beautiful Italian wood tile. I think I paid $5.50/foot. Other stores tried to charge me between $10-$15/foot for similar tile! If you need flooring check out Palata and ask for Hi Sem! Tell him I sent you. Their inventory is huge and can be quite overwhelming but Hayssam helped us narrow it down based on what our final vision is. WOW and WOW. When I get my act together, I will post photos. My husband and I were planning to downsize and move into my Mom's condo which has been rented to wonderful folks for 5.5 years. We started shopping...oh, my head hurts. Lowes seemed to have the best deal...so we stayed in talks with them. THEN VOILA!! We were driving down 9th St. in Upland to look at floor options and saw the big banner at PALATA touting a 10 x 10 kitchen for $3900.00. Well, we had to give it a go. We started out talking to Manuel, who was wonderful. We returned the next day to look at cabinets more in depth and Manuel advised that we should talk to Barak, who is the kitchen specialist. Is he ever! He was so very helpful and knowledgeable. He came right away and did a walk thru and measuring of the kitchen, then provided the bid the day after we made our cabinet and counter choice. My husband and I had had a nightmare experience remodeling our master bathroom. So much so that we said we would NEVER do any remodeling again. Now we can tell you if we do plan to do any other remodeling/flooring...etc., we will call Palata first. Barak did everything he said he would...and more. Everything was on time...product arrival and more importantly the demo guys and installers. If they say 8 am, they mean 8 am or even earlier...or you get a phone call. Our reno lasted longer than expected as some unforeseen problems cropped up...namely tree roots coming up under the concrete foundation and breaking up the concrete. So, that all had to be demo'd and re-poured. Palata didn't do this work, but were extremely held up because of it. Always gracious and understanding. All in all we did kitchen and floor demo, new kitchen cabinets and quartz countertops and laminate flooring and new baseboard throughout the house. The demo and install guys were extremely courteous and CLEAN...they NEVER left a mess. Even when things were left in the garage to be picked up by the next team, they were left in the neatest fashion. I was amazed...i have pics of that too. Sam installed our cabinets beautifully and Tarik did the most amazing job on the laminate floors and baseboard. STELLAR! Purchased a LOT of tile from these guys, the customer service was great until the installation was almost complete. My tile guy informed me that a glue was on the surface which would not come off with normal cleaners. My wife took a tile back to the store for assistance and*surprise* the owner could not remove it either. He advised us to come back the next day and speak to the salesman who sold the tile to us. What!?! Anyways, my tile guy had to purchase a special chemical from another tile place, and after an extra $300 charge, most of it was removed. When we called back and spoke to the salesman we got the run around. "I have to speak with the owner, blah blah," and were ultimately told they could do nothing for us. I would've been happy with even a little store credit. Once these guys get your money, they don't care what happens. Very disappointed! read more
