Although I've wanted to replace my floors for awhile, it wasn't until I had a water leak that this was forced on me. I didn't know about Floor Decor and they were referred through the reconstruction company I used. Dave Rogers came to my house, let me know the options and I then decided on LVP and replacement carpeting. Dave was so professional and kind! It was an extremely difficult and stressful time for me and I know he sensed that - no pressure, just helped with the best decisions I could make. The final quote for the work was so reasonable! I know it was a fair price - I've been pricing these products for years. The installers for both the LVP and carpet were very experienced and easy to have in my home - they worked quickly and were clearly very experienced. At first I would have given a 5 but within a matter of a couple of days of install my rating has dropped. I loved my carpet when installed. But things went south from there. First off the installers told me that the only carpet left was the strips they left on the porch. I believed them. However when my husband got home later in the evening he asked where the larger piece of carpet went that had been in the driveway when he left. We paid for the carpet and felt any larger pieces should have at least been offered to us. When I enquired with Steve about it I was told he would investigate and get back to me. I never heard back. Then I found they had left behind tools in one of the room as well as a napkin with blood all over it. I text Steve about picking it up and never heard back. I'm not sure Costco would appreciate a company representing them having such poor response to their customers concerns. read more

Found the floor I wanted at a good price. Paid just under $1500 for 37 boxed. My contractor installed the floor a week later and found that one of the boxes was damaged. (Looks like it was hit with a forklift). I came back to see if I could get the 5 damaged pieces replaced, but they refused to replace because I had to return broken pieces within "48 hours". I guess I had to inspect a ton of material piece by piece with two days of purchase. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE BY FRONT DESK. THEY DON'T STAND BY THEIR MATERIAL. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. And even though he did not have what I wanted in stock he found it for me. Brent the installer is a true artist. He went above and beyond on several occasions. On 05/15/23 I logged into Costco and searched for their advertise flooring products. I submitted my info for a free estimate and was contacted via email by Steve Murphy. I texted Steve, introducing myself and inquire about the company he was employed at, which was Flor Decor in Upland. Steve insured me that he would appear in person, at my residence to conduct his business. Steve arrived 20 minutes late and I had to call him to figure out why he was late. Strike 1. Steve parked sideways in my driveway like he owned the place, and when I asked him to move it he appears fussy about it lol. strike 2. Steve looked, spoke like a used cars sales man. Not necessarily a strike but still not a ball. Steve conducted his business and measured the rooms inside our home. When Steve was done I escorted him out of the home and spoke with him, which included samples of the flooring which he did not have, and cost per sq foot for demo and Instal which he refused to provide. Steve later said he would send samples of the flooring which he never did and when I asked for a detailed worksheet of the cost for materials, flooring (Shaw Coretec Plus Pro XL) and cost for demo, well, he delayed and send me a text which stated, "Installation of the Bedford Oak with transitions and 1/4 round, not including baseboard or wood and tile pull up, would be $27,470. Then you would receive a Costco Shop card of $2,747". I replied with, "Please attached the products specifications, size demographics, thickness, wear layer etc. see attached photo for examples. Also we are still deciding on what color preference we want. You said you could send us samples. We would like samples of the colors we discussed today. Benford, and Cairo". Steve responded days later with, "Just so you understand, the price I gave you will not be less". I responded via email in which I stated, "That's not what I asked. Apparently you are not capable of breaking down cost and/or following a simple request. For that. I will not be using your services. Good day". Sad to say the least that Costco contracts with mmmm snakes to say the least who are dishonest, not forthcoming and the simply be said, "Dirt bags". I will not be going with Costco, for the above mentioned reasons and found that a company called Flooret is knows for their customer service, durability at 40mm wear layer and up front about their product. I will be contacting Costco and informing them if Floor Decors poor ethics. read more

We had our floors installed two years ago and just recently noticed a very small area in one of the rooms that was "wonky". Called, as the floor had a guarantee on it. Could not have ended up being any happier with the quality of the "repair". Thinking that the small area that was defective would just be fixed somehow I came to find out was not going to be the case. The entire floor in the area of the defect was removed from base board to base board and replacement planks were installed. Those planks were not installed until a new moisture barrier and additional leveling was completed. It proved to me that the Floor&Decor did not forget about us but stood by their workmanship and products. Gabriel and Kendal were the representatives who completed the warranty work and could not have been better to represent the company. When we are ready to complete the flooring in our house by putting in floors in the bedrooms our choice will be floor & Decor. read more

Dave saved my floors, so I just moved to Upland and thought it would be wise to have my general contractor install my vinyl plank floors just to keep it all with one person. I was wrong, he destroyed my floors, he shaved the base of the planks to make them fit, there was no floor prep, there was nails under the planks, my baseboards were completely uneven. I ended up firing my Contractor, I remebered Dave. He had installed Carpet in my previous home in Ontario 6 years earlier. I called Dave on a Friday at noon, told him my story and explained how unhappy my wife was with this half ass job. He said "I got you" and he got to my house at 4PM. He walked through my house and pretty much said "You gotta start over". I told him, "lets do it", he told me everything including baseboards needed to be removed along with floor prep was never done. So, he called me back Monday Morning and threw a price at me and we started work a few days later. His GUYS WERE AMAZING! 2 Guys came in and undid this disaster of a floor install in 4 days. This was 1700 square feet along with floor prep and they were able to save about 80% of the floors, the ones they couldn't save WERE GLUED, SHAVED and otherwise unusable. His guys also did an epic job on the stairs, everything about this job was great, he constantly checked on quality of work, checked in with me to ensure we were happy. His guys didn't leave a scrap of trash, they wore masks and they talked to my wife like she was an equal. Usually contractors only speak to men and its important to me that my wife has the same clout as I do especially in my absence. I messed up and didn't hire Dave initially to save a few bucks and it ended up costing me more than double. Was Dave the cheapest choice, probably not but I didn't bother shopping around nor will I ever again when shopping for floor, I paid for what I got and we couldn't be happier, We did all of downstairs, we are now waiting for his guys to do upstairs, Next week Round 2 thanks again Dave. read more

I got my floor done through Floor Decor and Costco back in March on my new construction home. House looks beautiful with the new Shaw Vinyl planks but the main floor was not done correctly. Floor looks uneven and some of the vinyls were not lock together properly as seen in some of the pictures I am including. Also, floor feels bumpy which create air pockets. I contacted Steve Murphy couple days after installation was completed but no response from him. Now the issue is getting worst and I've been calling Steve to no avail. I needed new carpet and after looking around for awhile, I decided to go through Costco. I was contacted by Jerry who works for Floor Decor in Upland, who contracts with Costco. Jerry asked me what I was interested in and I told him. He came to the house with lots of samples. I was interested in quite a few, but needed to see bigger samples. He got in touch with The carpet companies and ordered me full size samples of everything I was interested in and had them sent directly to my house. No high pressure. He gave me lots of time, answered all my questions and when I finally made up my mind, he came out and I signed all the paperwork. The carpet I wanted was on backorder, but ended up coming in quicker than expected. Father and son team, Rojeno and Ramon were the installers and I can not say enough good things about them. I don't think I've ever seen two men work harder than they did!! They were here for two full days (I have a big house) and did an amazing job!! I am so happy with my carpet and the outstanding job they did. They really went the extra mile and I appreciate all their hard work! I went through Costco to upgrade my flooring. The floors look good and the installation team did a great job, they are the reason for the 3 stars. I am taking off 2 stars because of my experience with their rep, Steve Murphy. He promised some follow-up work which was never done and he has repeatedly ignored my attempts to contact him. First, when I signed the contract, he explained that the installers would remove the pedestal sink in the powder room but wouldn't be able to reinstall it. I said that was fine as I was planning to upgrade it anyway. I specifically asked about the toilet, and he said they wouldn't have to remove it, they could work around the toilet. Well, the installers said they had to remove it and couldn't reinstall it. When I messaged Steve to explain what the installers said (which contradicted what he told me), he just ignored my message. No apology, no explanation, nothing. I wouldn't have minded if he had told me up front (like with the sink) so I could schedule a plumber in advance, but instead I was stuck with a hole in the floor, which I had to cover with plastic and tape until I could get a plumber out. Then, after the floors were installed, there were some gaps in a couple of the floor boards and between my stairs and the wall, and I contacted Steve to ask if this was something they could fix. He came out to inspect the work and said a couple of the gaps were caused by "imperfections" in my wall but they could make it look better with some caulking. He agreed that the stairs really needed to be fixed because those gaps are very obvious/unsightly. He said the installers were busy, but he would send someone out to do the touch ups if I wouldn't mind waiting a couple weeks. I said that wouldn't be a problem at all. That was the end of March and he has ignored most of attempts to contact him over the past 5 months. At one point I asked if we could schedule it the following the week, and he replied "I think so". He never contacted me to schedule and ignored my next several attempts to contact him for several weeks. Then I asked if I should contact someone else and he said, no, the installers are just super busy and he would contact me immediately when they are available. Finally, he responded to one of my messages with "give me until tomorrow". That was now a month ago and he has again ignored my next attempts to contact him. I give up. I'm done with this company. I honestly would've preferred to be told they didn't have the time or capacity to do this, rather than wasting my time by promising me they would do something and then just ignoring me when I ask when it will be done. I was planning to hire them again to do the rest of my flooring, but now I'm looking for another flooring company. **8/28 update: I changed my review to 4 stars because 5 days after I posted this review, Brent came out to my house and fixed all the gaps. It took him less than an hour to do this. He matched the caulking to the color of the stairs and now it looks great, no more gaps between the wall and stairs. This isn't a 5 star review because I'm still frustrated that it took 5 months of back and forth and several ignored messages for something that was such an easy fix. But I'm glad it's finally done and I'm happy with the result. read more

Decided to go through Costco to purchase and install flooring through their vendor Floor Decor. Steve Murphy, FD rep for Shaw flooring contacted me. From the onset, Steve seemed unprepared, and not knowledgeable about what Shaw flooring FD had in store. I visited the upland store and although Ken was very helpful, he stated that "Costco would be more expensive than them". Additionally, the FD Shaw selection at the store was very very very limited. Very disappointed . I left with a sample tile. Steve was surprised I had found the sample at the store. Additionally, I sent him detailed photos and information from the Shaw web of what I was looking for. We scheduled a Saturday appointment and he was 45 minutes late. I asked him if he brought samples he said no. What he did show me was the Shaw website on his phone! What a waste of time. I've contacted Costco this morning. Overall satisfied with the product but it was a bumpy road to get there. Went through Costco and had to reach out to Costco because no one followed up on my inquiry for 3 weeks. Finally, Jerry reached out and set up a day to visit. We picked our carpet and Jerry got us all set up. First day of our project, arrival time was communicated with us by Jerry- things were looking good. Second day they finished our downstairs flooring. It looked good- finishing touches weren't as great as I would have liked. Baseboards could have been cleaner and they could have picked up the mess a little more before leaving. At that point, there was a lack of communication on when the upstairs carpet would be installed so I asked and received a response for what day but not a time. On Friday, carpet installer came. Showed up on time and things got started, we were told job would be done around 3. Supposed to be a 2 man job but only 1 showed up and so we were told it would be done by 5. I texted Jerry and expressed my displeasure about how much of the job was left around 4-4:30 and was told the job would be done in 1-1.5 hours and that he didn't even know only 1 guy showed until 10:30 AM - why wasn't this communicated with us then or someone else sent out?!.. 2 hours later... the carpet installer didn't leave our house until around 6:30 PM when we had plans at 5:30. My husband had to help move our furniture and also had to help with clean up because by the time the job was finished, we just wanted to get on with our night. My husband spent all day Saturday vacuuming and cleaning up the dust and removing dirty hand prints off our wall from the install, some of which did not come off and we will now need to repaint our walls. I waited for some follow up from Jerry so I could express my feed back to him before putting it in public forum and never received contact.. so overall the floors look nice but not happy with communication, feed back, state of my home after the install or that we paid for a service and my husband had to help. read more

We've used floor and decor now for 4 different projects. We've had laminate installed downstairs, tile, laminate and risers on stairs and carpet upstairs. Each project was done in timely manner. The projects were well priced and lower than other companies for the same product. We've dealt with 2 different sales reps and both have been quick with price quotes and scheduling and installation. The house has never looked better. We did have a small issue with the stairs that needed repairing a few months after installation but it was fixed without any guff after some scheduling timing. This review is for work done quite a while ago, maybe 18 months or so. Even though I was completely dissatisfied with Floor Decor at the time I wasn't going to leave a bad review because I've known them for so long. However, now since my tile floor is failing and will have to be replaced, they're getting the review they deserve. Dave has been installing flooring for me for about 20 years. He's done carpet, wood, tile and even granite counter tops for us in four of our personal properties and at my offices. The last job was to replace all the tile flooring in our home. His two tile people (father and son team) were the most unprofessional slobs I've ever had work in my home. They didn't do anything to protect our home or existing carpets to the point I threw them out of the house one day. Dave ended up calling me but never would come to the house to see the mess or workmanship. He also wouldn't replace the two clowns he had working there. My choices were to let them finish or hire someone else myself and sue him which I didn't want to do. So they finished. The grout they used was the wrong color and when I questioned it they said it was correct and would dry the right color. They were wrong. Dave did send someone back to paint all the grout but it's paint and now chipping in places. The problem we have now is tile is coming loose in our master bath and the grout is breaking apart. We're going to have to rip out the tile and replace it in less than 2 years! I should have replaced them during the job and just paid for it. Because now I've got to pay someone to repair their poor workmanship. I did not get what I paid for. read more

We had Jerry come ovr to measure for replacing our whole house with a luxury vinyl. He couldn't hav been more patient and was able 2 answer all our questions. He ordered more sample colors when we asked for more options. We received them promptly. Perfectly smooth home visit. We felt his sincerity right away. We had Danny and Frank hired 2 install the flooring (Danny O'Dell Covering) as they came highly recommended from Jerry. They are by far exceptional! They are willing and able 2 make u happy. They called 2 inform us they were coming, showed up on time and were very responsible with our possessions. Also, made sure they left the areas clean. Very impressed. I've used Floor Decor in Upland on 2 occasions. First was installation of laminate downstairs. I fell in love. Brent and his crew installed it within the quoted time. I decided to give them a call for my next job. New tile in 3 bathrooms, a new tiled entryway, laminated stairs and upstairs hallway. I called and made an appointment with Tim. He arrived on time and had the tile sample colors I requested. Tim even went outside the traditional and brought a surprisingly different tile. I loved it and went with it. He was very helpful with his ideas and did all the measurements. I decided to go with Floor Decor again. Brent and Alan were sent out to do this job. They were on time, extremely nice and polite and got to work. This was quite a bit larger of a job than my 1st install with them, but again Brent and his crew did a great job, again! It took a little longer than expected (only by one day). We didn't like the color grout in one bathroom and Brent happily restained it for us. It looks great now!
