According to the inspector- it's the moisture in the house (supposedly due to cement slab). Ryan is trying to appeal the fact that manufacturing company has denied my claim. Five-Star Experience with Halo Flooring - Again! This was my second time hiring Halo Flooring, and once again, they did not disappoint. This project was a smaller one -- just installing flooring in my daughter's bedroom -- but they treated it with the same level of care and professionalism as a major job. The floor in the room was uneven, and the crew took the time to properly level it using a grinding tool and self-leveling concrete. They laid drop cloths all the way up the stairs to protect our home, and any cutting or grinding done indoors was connected to a vacuum to keep dust to a minimum. They cut most materials outside and made sure the space stayed clean. The team showed up when they said they would, cleaned up thoroughly each day, and completed the job exactly as promised. I enjoyed the whole process and Ryan handled all the details. He was upfront and made sure the job went good. They even finished in one day when it was supposed to take two days, but the prep work on the floor was not significant. I met the owner whose name I forget sorry and he was very professional and accommodating. I like the fact that they offered to do a moisture test if necessary and they prepare the slab which in my case had a few cracks because I pulled the old flooring out. The two guys who installed were very personable and very aware of time and they were pretty nonstop and like I said, finished in one day instead of two days. We had Hailo install luxury vinyl flooring in our brand new home back in Jan of 2022. Within 12 months, our floor began to buckle and break in several spots throughout our home. We asked Hailo to come out and repair our floor, but over 3 past years later, nothing has been done to fix it. Hailo is claiming the damage is due to the actual flooring material. However, the flooring manufacturer claims the damage was caused because the floors were installed improperly (specifically that no moisture barrier was installed and the floors were not property leveled). Hailo is claiming the flooring didn't require a moisture barrier, so they didn't install it. However the installation instructions in a spare box of flooring we have clearly states it was required. What's even more disturbing is when we review our receipt from Hailo, we were charged for this moisture barrier (see receipt). And since the problem started, Hailo has come out and cut holes in our flooring to measure the moisture in our slab, but they have never even bothered to replace the flooring where the holes were cut (they are simply duct taped back down in place). We've even had a neutral third party inspection of the entire flooring job. This inspection clearly stated that the floors were improperly installed and the slab was not leveled property which contributed to the damage (see attached report). And with all of this, Hailo still has done nothing. And in the meantime, we've been left with buckling and broken floors in almost every room in our brand new home for the past 3 years. We are now at a point where we've had to hire an attorney to resolve the issues with Hailo. But if you're considering using them to install flooring in your home, you should stop by and see what they did to our home....I have no doubt if you do, you'll find another company. read more

Overall, We were very pleased with our service. Mr Ryan was The Director and coordinator of the work. We had a team of guys come to install luxury vinyl on our stairs and top level of our home which took approximately six days. Followed by carpet that was one day. We also had tile installed in our owner suite during the time the team did the luxury vinyl. We were pleased with the outcome and really grateful to have follow-up join the work and have any questions answered. The scope of work was large and it was a haptic price, but it was worth it. Con: this was expensive, but in addition, we were not pleased to know that the small lips of tile would have to be permanent. We were not informed, until after the tile had been laid, and we noticed that the tile was scantly uneven. We could feel it in some areas that the transition was not smooth . At that time Mr. Ryan informed us that this is normal. Doesn't mean that I liked it but the work was done and in general I was pleased with the outcome. I previously gave Hailo 3 stars on my 1.5 year follow up update. I was honestly furious that some areas of my home started having sag problems which was potential fall hazard for my little kids. Kevin, the owner, took it upon himself to reach out to me and tried everything he can to rectify the issue. Communication was excellent and he fully accepted responsibility to set things right, which, unfortunately, is not really all that common today. I definitely appreciated this. We are scheduled now to get the problem fixed and hope to be rid of the headache once and for all. This is a long overdue review. We got our floors done by Hailo Flooring back in April 2018. The entire crew did an excellent job and the photos posted with my review do not truly do it justice on how well our floors turned out. When we purchased our newly constructed home, we opted not to pay for the "upgraded floors" from our builder. Instead, right after we closed, we found and hired Hailo to replace the default carpets and tile to luxury vinyl planks. The product we chose was Armstrong Pryzm and it's truly the best! It's totally waterproof and wear resistant. Best of all, it actually looks like wood, too! After 3.5 years of living with these floors, we would not have chosen anything differently at all. The floors still look pristine after a quick mopping of it. Overall, my wife and I highly recommend this company to anyone in SoCal needing to flooring. read more

The floors in my rental condo look great, but I have a few pointers for potential customers. Ryan was super helpful in the showroom but the installation is a whole other ballgame. I'd been advised by another customer to make sure that the workers didn't cut wood inside the unit so we discussed this and I was assured that 1. vinyl planks don't produce a lot of dust and 2. the workers would do the cutting outside. All was well until the final day when for whatever reason they proceeded to cut all of the wood molding INSIDE the unit. Everything in my condo was left covered in a fine layer of sawdust -- cabinets, appliances, counters and so on. I'm surprised to read other reviews discuss leveling. I was ignorant of the need for it and when the job was done I was surprised to see many sizeable gaps under the baseboards. The supervisor said this was a result of the underlying concrete being uneven, and said they couldn't caulk it because the grain of the planks caused it to smear everywhere. I couldn't accept this appearance so I got painters tape and caulked all the gaps without issue myself, but it took forever. There were also a lot of gaps on the tops of the baseboards that looked much better once I caulked them. On the other hand the workers DID caulk my newly-installed toilet, which I had purposely left un-caulked. I signed off on the work well after the sun went down. The next morning I started noticing dozens and dozens of pencil marks left by the workers on the planks. As a result I would advise that you only inspect and accept the work during daylight hours. My floors are dark and it took forever to track down and clean up all of the pencil marks. To be clear I'm happy with how my floors look and I have had no issues with the product. I highly recommend Hailo and I'd use them again. But I did get stuck with a couple of weeks of clean-up that I feel could have been avoided with better communication and if I'd inspected the work during the daytime. read more

They were accommodating enough to pick up tiles that weren't in-store. Communication from the sales manager was quick and straightforward. Hailo did my flooring back in 2017. Nothing but problems with the installation. Reached out to Kevin ( the owner) multiple times to get an answer as to when is he going to return to fix all of the rest of the problems not only related to the living room which they came back to fix but for the rest of the house and he blew me off. The flooring is cupping up everywhere. Had a few representatives from the manufacturers come out and they both said it was the install that was the problem and not the products used. I was very pleased with the carpet job I contracted with Hailo flooring. Ryan brought some carpet samples to choose. It didn't take me long to find the proper carpet for my bedrooms. We recently bought a new house and shopped around for flooring. We got quotes from Home Depot and Floor and Decor but decided to go with Hailo flooring after finding all the great reviews on Yelp. And Hailo didn't disappoint. The prices were competitive but the service was above and beyond. Ryan in sales was extremely helpful and informative. We placed the order and they got started almost right away. We had some concerns in the beginning and the field superintendent, Tom, made a special trip out to address the concerns we had. Steve and his crew did great work. He even went above and beyond and helped us apply touch up paint to a wall my fiancé accidentally spilled wine on lol. Work was done poorly and left my floor looking botched and messed up. The tiled installed wasn't done properly. Several tiles were cut uneven and jagged. I spend $5000 on this installation and it does not look good and feels terrible to walk on. This review is specific to my visit to their storefront today to view the inventory of flooring options they have available and I almost hit the floor myself with the number of choices available. It's humanly impossible to not find a flooring style or look / feel that matches your vision. As my husband and I have started a remodeling project upstairs and recently learned about vinyl planking, I was fortunate to meet with Ryan today who answered all of my questions on the pros / cons of this medium. Starting my review now as we are having the work done. (Will update rating when completed) We were given an estimate of 3 days. Work started Monday. 2 workers came out and really hustled and getting carpet ripped out and prepping everything. They informed us the floor was uneven in two areas. No problem, reasonable fix and pricing was fair-5 bags of compound needed. They said they will be back next day. The next morning Tuesday no one showed up. I was away at work but called their office. I was told I would get a call back. I didn't receive a call back directly but they showed at the house to drop off materials and then had to leave. No installation was done. Some sort of scheduling conflict or another job was more urgent??? Not clear. Wednesday the installers came for only a couple of hours then left. Thursday only 1 person showed but he was really hustling and getting work done- is what I was told by my partner. Only problem is the area being tile had the other area that needed leveling. When my partner asked he was told it wasn't as bad as they thought or didn't really need it. I wasn't really clear on the reason but I remembered when they showed us how unlevel it was it was worse than the other section that they did level. So I called and explained that we were told two areas needed leveling and this area that is being tiled was the more uneven section. They will look into and I would get a call back. 8/19 1:30pm. Received a call back from installation mgr. He explained that he would need to speak to his workers and that maybe the area may not have seemed as bad as they had thought and my have grinded down to get level. He will check into it. 8/19 2pmThe people coming out to our home have all been kind and seem to know what they are doing. The floors are really looking great. Our installation was moved up by a month which we are grateful.. I just want to make sure we don't have issues 3 months down the line. -After posting review was contacted by their office to get more details. 8/19 3pm The installation mgr came over personally and will be taking care of our concerns. 8/21 They came early Saturday to finish everything. There was one section of base/trim not done by our cabinets. We pointed it out and was told they weren't told about it. We mentioned it was in the quote. They said the mgr will come do a walk through Monday and we can let him know. After they left we saw about 3 scratches, I think from moving the refrigerator. :( read more
