I've been loyal to Painted Nails for years and had great experiences in the past. Unfortunately, the last few times I've been have not been great. After my last appointment I can no longer give them my business. I made an appointment online for a deluxe pedicure ($42) and a deluxe gel mani ($47). My pedicure was lack luster but what ruined the experience was the dirty hot towels that were placed on my legs. When I went to pay, I was shocked that I was charged $62 for the service. I looked online and it seems like I was charged for the premium pedicure. My pedicure did not have six hot stones, a choice of scents, mud mask and some of the extra things the premium pedicure service has. I feel a little scammed. Reading the description of the deluxe manicure definitely aligns with what I experienced. Not sure why I was up charged. For my gel mani I ended up getting dip with extensions. I asked how much it was and was quoted $55. When I went to pay, I was charged $60 instead. When I asked why the price was different, I was told it's because of the shape I wanted (almond). I've always gotten almond nails and have never been charged separately for shaping of my nails... when I got home I took a look at a few nails and the shape is crooked because they were working so quickly. again, feeling a little scammed. I don't mind paying the higher prices, what I do mind is when the service doesn't align and when I'm lied to about price. I'm really sad to say I won't be returning because I loved this salon. I had been a loyal customer here for years, but my most recent visit was nothing short of insulting. When I asked for my favorite polish color, Christine immediately brushed me off, saying they didn't have it, and was hesitant to even hand me the catalog. I tried to settle on other options, but the technician doing my nails was grumpy and careless, filing several of my nails crooked. When I respectfully asked her to fix them, she acted annoyed, as if I were asking for a favor instead of paying for a service. The most shocking moment came when I finally spotted my preferred color on the wall. I walked over, chose it, and returned to my seat only to find the technician had abandoned me and started working on someone else. Christine casually said she would "finish me later" while juggling another customer, excusing the technician's behavior by saying I was "picking too many colors." That response was unbelievable. I am the customer, it is your job to guide me, not punish me for taking a moment to choose the right color. This entire experience was disrespectful and unprofessional. We don't come to salons to be treated like an inconvenience. We pay for service, and basic courtesy should be the minimum standard in this country . I think I finally found my go-to salon nearby home! I was able to make an appointment the day of. Arrived and it wasn't busy, nice and clean. They seated me right away for a pedicure. Annie/Anna did my pedicure and she provided a nice massage, if you like strong hands. Christine did my full set with dip. I showed her a picture and she went over the colors and prices with me. It came out a lot better than the picture I showed her! She was quick, honest and precise. She also asked numerous times if the shape, color, and length was good. The only con is that they charge extra for length and shape of nails when doing acrylics and/or dipping powder. Since this is the only salon I've been to that charges extra. I'll be coming back next time to try the gel extensions! read more

Got my nails done by Tang (?) and had the worst experience. A friend highly recommended Christine and the salon but I couldn't get Christine as she went on maternity leave the day of my appointment (congratulations on your bundle of joy Christine!). Got gel nails done by Tang and she did an abysmal job. She didn't trim my cuticles, her nail paint job left an extremely visible gap between my cuticles and the nail polish (it looked like I had significant nail growth since my last manicure). She did trim cuticles and extend the polish when I requested her a couple of times - but I shouldn't have had to do that in the first place! Post nails removal a couple of weeks later, I noticed that my nails had extremely deep grooves around the cuticles and I've never experienced it with prior manicures at my old salon. I really wanted to like Painted Nails as it came very highly recommended but unfortunately had the worst experience! read more

My sister had her bridal party her their nails done here and I chose a pedicure! What amazing service, my feet feel amazing and the nail polish selection was so amazing! I ended up choosing a whitish-pink polish OPI. I had a nice scrub, cuticle cutting, calf massage with exfoliation, and she painted my nails twice with a clear nail polish on top. The massage chair was also a really nice added touch during the pedicure. Also, I really appreciate the service, seriously going above and beyond. My first visit at this salon was on 10/31/22 for a trial run of a dip powder set. I had a pleasant experience on this visit. as well as on my second visit today. I've recently been to salons where technicians apply product sloppily and unevenly resulting in an over correction and undue stress on my nail beds from the shaping drill. On my previous visit Christine applied each layer evenly & neatly which resulted in not having to return for nearly four weeks. Some technicians apply extra product creating an over exaggerated hump at the half moon resulting in an unnatural shape as they grow out. Christine acknowledged the healthy condition of my nails which did not warrant the unnecessary extra product. Christine is a tenured knowledgeable professional who listens to each client leading up to my appointment. I've observed that she engages her clients during the whole process from the moment of arrival at her station. She continues to check in to ensure the nail condition and shape is what the client desires; all while juggling the incoming calls and interruptions that come with running the daily operations of a business remaining cool under pressure and humbly deals with situations respectfully. read more

This is... Not sanitary. I visited during a weekday afternoon while in the area; probably wouldn't be back. Painted Nails is located in a strip mall along San Ramon Valley Road, across from Regal. There's ample parking in the shared lot. I visited for a dip manicure and removal. Some things... - It's dead quiet. The TV plays a looped montage of random famous cities from birds-eye view. Accompanied by generic EDM music playing softly. - Amenities are a bit dated and hodgepodge. One of the nail lamps is actually a repurposed ring light. Some things are... well-loved (shattered lids, cracked swatch sticks, etc.) - There were only 2 technicians trying to service 4 people in the salon, potentially understaffed or overbooked - We arrived on time for our appointment. But bc of above issue, idled around for 20+ mins until it actually started - When it did start, we noticed that the tools, chair, and table weren't cleaned between customers at all. Nail powder and clippings everywhere. Tools were covered in nail dust. Towel set on the table for us was ragged and covered in old polish streaks. TBH we should have left at this point - (neither bad nor good, just a note) Didn't cut cuticles or touch them at all - When filing down my previous dip, the powder flew all over my technician's chest and shirt, covered it in a sheet of white flecks... And she didn't remove it or anything. She just left it all there, even all the way until checkout - While clipping/filing, flyaway pieces flung all over the place, including towards my face. Other salons I've been to try to angle it to minimize the splash zone... - Shaping was good, but this was the last stage where she checked in with me (seemed to be in a rush since already running late...) - Didn't buff nail bed before applying powder and sealant. Also painted over some lint that got caught in the powder... - Cut my finger with the electric nail file, almost burned it with the heat - Didn't pour or brush the powder on, dipped my finger directly into the jar......... (with a cut.........) - After finishing, missed some leftover residue on the edges of nails and fingers... There was an entire white powder splotch adhered to the side of my finger that I had to peel off - No sink to wash your hands afterwards...... Even after them dusting my hands off with the brush, there was still a layer of powder all over my hands - Their lotion to "massage" (ie. haphazardly rub your forearms and hands for 2 seconds) is old af. Let me just say that I'm really not a fan of communal lotion, especially if the bottle is falling apart and has dried green bits crusted on the dispenser. From my seat, I didn't realize that it was a skincare tool and not a cleaning product, and before I knew it, this paste-like, strongly-mint-smelling lotion was slathered all over my arms. It looked and felt dirty, especially as the technician was sneezing and sniffling while doing this... - I will say that they did work pretty fast and did an okay job. My nails don't look bad but the process was concerning - Our appointment ran into the next customer's time since we were late, and we saw the technicians toss the tools directly into the drawer (without cleaning) YOU KNOW I WENT HOME AND WASHED MY HANDS THOROUGHLY AFTER ALL THAT :/ At the end, it was $50 total before tip, didn't charge for removal (maybe as a courtesy for starting late?). I feel bad because the techs seemed friendly, the outcome wasn't horrible, and they did have a good variety of services and polish colors, but idk if it's worth risking my health... read more

I started going to Painted Nails in December last year, and it will forever be my favorite. I have a terrible habit of picking my nails... but whenever Christine does them, they literally do not chip. I came here with my bridesmaids to get our nails done for my wedding, and they decorated the salon for me which was the sweetest gesture and made it feel so special. After a long search for a good nail saloon, I think I finally found it!! I walked into Painted Nails on a Sunday morning around 10:30 and they sat me immediately. All the ladies working were very friendly. I got a gel manicure for $27. She took very good care there was no bubbling, or cotton hairs. It was also VERY clean and she was sure to use really good sanitation procedures. They do write on the wall that they prefer cash tip, however, she did let me tip off my card. I will be sure to bring cash next time. They have tons of gel colors to choose from! Unfortunately I happened to pick one color she couldn't find, and another that was out of polish, but i was fine to choose another. The price is very fair for the area, especially compared to surrounding salons. I'll be back soon! read more

I had my first visit to this salon today and I was very happy with my pedicure appointment!! I get ingrowns all the time and advised the lady (did not get her name unfortunately) who was working on me. A short while after, she advised me that I do indeed have thick ingrown nails on my toes and a lot of dead skin. I appreciated the realness and the fact that she took what I advised seriously. Christine knows I'm picky about my nails looking more natural even tho they're acrylic. I'm always doing some kind of design with glitter (it's my signature) and today she knocked it out of the park. Not only did she fix the thick, chunky mess I had from having to go elsewhere last time, but she executed a design that I found online. It took a bit to get the right colors, but wow!!! I came here for the first time over two weeks ago. I got dip on my nails and a gel pedicure. This was my first time doing dip, which Christine recommended to me (I'm a dental hygienist so I wash my hands like 100x a day and needed something stronger than gel). I've been super burnt out from work and they totally pampered me. Hara and Christine are so sweet. There was one more nail tech who did my pedicure but I unfortunately didn't catch her name - she was amazing! Oh yeah, I also got my lip and brows washed by hara! She is great! Everyone here is friendly, professional and skilled. My nails are still looking pretty good after almost 3 weeks. I'm coming back this week to get another mani pedi and I can't wait! This will be my go-to nail salon from now on. Please try them out, they are new management but that does not mean they are not skilled or talented. They know what they are doing. Wow! I'm stunned at the variance in service based on the day you go and how you're dressed. They No longer offer Mani Pedi combos. Everything is A la Carte. I paid $70+ tip about two weeks ago! Mani polish didn't last a week. Granted it was a Friday but the welcome was lacking. Brought my own polish too. I cannot afford these prices. As my nails were drying a woman/familiar client/ dropped in and all four gals urgently swarmed around her. The customer service given is not equal for each client. Inconsistent experiences. My friend referred me and my first visit was great (good work, friendly, reasonable pricing). My second and third visits were very different because of the salon being too busy. I always make appointments at least 1 day before, and never do walk-in. These times they were overbooked from allowing walk-ins or last minute appointments. They were rushing around in chaos, had people waiting for long periods and I had to ask (both times!) to have my hands wiped and oiled at the end (because the tech had run off to start someone else's service while my nails finished under the gel light). Today, my friend who I referred came in for an appointment. She told them ahead of time she was short on time and they still had her waiting so long that the tech rushed her manicure so badly the nails shapes were all over the place. My service with Annie today was great for the most part. My advice is to manage the schedule better even if it means turning away walkins or late arrivals. Overall, it's better for business to provide great service. I doubt I'll come back for another try. read more
