I hadn't ordered from them in awhile. But they were convenient so I ordered one pepperoni pizza. With tax, tip, and delivery fee, this single pizza was over $50. When it arrived, there was basically zero cheese on it. I could see the sauce through the dusting of cheese they had put on it, the top was pink/orange, not white. No strings of mozzarella when you took a bite. Over-priced garbage pizza. I have had frozen pizzas that were better. Why am I telling the internet instead of complaining to Pagliacci? Because I have given them a few "second chances" over the years and they always disappoint. If a new pizza joint were to charge this much and produce this kind of slop, they would close within a month. So I want this chain of pizza stores to go away now. I will say I was kind of disappointed in the location. The service was on, the employees were t really that friendly compared to other locations like Capital hill & Columbia city (where we visit frequently) the pizza was kind of burnt and when I went to the counter to get a to go box I literally stood there for 3 to 4 minutes before I was even acknowledged and there was a lady at the register and she looked at me and turned away. Today was my sixth time ordering from Pagliacci and all five previous orders were solid. I ordered a large pizza and a 'party size' sicilian chicken salad. Up until today - it seemed like a mutually beneficial customer-business relationship. Prices are up roughly 20% from a year ago - and with inflation and increased cost of labor that jump is mostly understandable. But here's where it all broke down. My salad showed up nearly devoid of all the key ingredients. There's a small-size salad equivalent of chicken, absolutely no artichoke hearts, and a single sun-dried tomato. The chicken was splayed out on top like a guilty apology for the absolute travesty lying beneath. In a previous Yelp life I might verbally crush Pagliacci like a ripe grape tomato between two molars. Let's side-step that sinkhole for a moment. Instead, let's talk about the corona-flation of expectation. Over the last two years the relationship between customer and business has changed. The pandemic initiated a radical and rapid change of consumer behavior. Businesses had to pivot their products and services, adopt technology - offering takeout food , outdoor dining, grocery boxes, meal kits, conduct business over video calls, and more. Those who could not adapt, those who relied on tourism rather than the local community, those who could not or would not fight through the pandemic's attack on the status quo, those whose businesses did not have a strong enough immune system to fight back and defend their products , they perished. But, this story isn't all about the businesses - it's also about their customers. During the pandemic, customers were asked to step up - to support the businesses they cared about, explicitly, through giving donations, extra tips, buying gift cards, and also implicitly, by leaning in to new experimental product offerings, and by voting with their dollars for the future of their communities. Consumers who did not invest in their local businesses, but instead funneled their income back to bigger corporations, compromised the immune response of their local economies. Together, both business owner and customer, were supposed to emerge from the pandemic stronger - with a mutual and deepened realization of how the other is critical to their community and their success. The bar is higher now. The expectation of integrity, of mutual respect is higher - for both customer and business. I called Pagliacci. I told them what happened. They issued me a refund for the salad. But it still doesn't feel right. It doesn't feel like we are in this together. Pagliacci - I am willing to volunteer my time to help you clean your parking lot, or help design your next pizza box, or buy ten pizzas in advance if you want to fund your next big thing, whatever you need. Lots of great classic flavors on their menu for all tastes and preferences plus an interesting rotation of seasonal offerings. Fairly new Pagliacci Pizza in Interbay/Magnolia area, but technically in Interbay. Anyways, this location has a dining area with tables, an outdoor area and a small parking lot next to QFC. Pagliacci is one of the pizza chains that I like, never really had a bad slice from any location. Glad this one is close to me and not ridiculously busy at all times. Came here on a Friday night (yea I know, wild night) and there were only a few people eating and they had a good amount of selections to choose from. We decided to get 3 slices to-go and we got 1 slice of the Spicy Chicken and 2 slices of the Prima. Pizza was quite good, cheesy, good amount of toppings, they do throw it in the oven before serving so it's nice and crispy and not room temp waiting to be brought back to life. Crust is thin, totally foldable and just enough grease to leak out of the crease onto your hand. Staff is friendly and welcoming, quick to serve it up with a smile and will be back. The hardest part of ordering from Pagliacci's is agreeing on which pizza to get. We finally settled on the 17" Pesto Primo +chicken. I am not a fan of melted cheese. I am also not adventerous in my cheese tastes (I only recently was coerced into trying feta and blue), so the trio of strange cheeses on this pizza had me uncertain of whether or not I would even be able to finish a piece. I went in again a month ago since it was near my workplace. The service definately improved and the lasagna was great. I also fell in love with their salads!! Pagliacci isn't what it used to be. Cold, soggy (expensive) pizza has become the norm which is really unfortunate. We typically order and pick up but appears the Dravus location doesn't have a great process in place as the common theme we have run into is pizza that has been sitting around for awhile by the time we arrive to pick it up. Our recent experience was probably the last straw. We ordered a pizza and were provided a 50 minute wait time. Knowing the issue we've had with cold/soggy pizza I planned to arrive early to see if the pizza was available early. After waiting several minutes in line to let them know I was there I was disappointedly told I needed to wait. I waited for almost 10 minutes AFTER the pick up time (1 hour after the time we placed the order) and was told the pizza was ready. Unfortunatey the ~$30 pizza ($40 order w salad and tip) was once again cold. I guess from this point forward it's my own damn fault for ordering pizza from Pagliacci. Buyer beware....which is too bad. Pagliacci pizza (hot) is really damn good but it's apparent the locations don't care enough about their customers to ensure a quality experience when picking up their pizza (on time). read more
