    The Spicoli Pizza

Stopped by here before attending a concert and was in the mood for pizza. This location was slightly different in the sense that the front part of the place had what I considered to be a traditional seating area but then in the back there was more booth-style seating and a bar. The staff was helpful enough. The pizza was good and flavorful. I love the size of the slices which are bigger than anywhere else. The pizza is New York style which means it's thin. It did take a while for the pizza to come out, around 20-30 minutes so keep that in mind. Generally I decent pizza place.

I've heard a lot of good things about this pizza shop, so I wanted to try it myself. Unfortunately, it wasn't that great to me. The biggest take-away is their pizza. It's New York style pizza, which I love because of the thin crust style. However, our pizza was pretty flabby at the end of the pizza, and even the cheese and toppings were falling off. I've had New York style pizza before and none of my pizza ended up like that. Flavor wise, it's good. The crust/bread was average. Our pizza came with pineapple, however, there was very little of it. They were not kind on the portioning of the other toppings as well. Service wise, it's okay. The workers aren't that friendly. We said thank you to the cashier/server before leaving the restaurant and they just gave us a very small smile and said nothing. The pizza took quite of time to make; around 30 mins. The place is half self-served. As you need to grab utensils, water, napkins, and your table by yourself. The ambiance of the restaurant varied. The main lobby is blend and doesn't have that much seating. However, the bar area is nice, as it had Halloween decorations and nice lighting. Overall, not a great experience and I wouldn't come back.

Came to get lunch on a Friday around 1:30. There was one other family in at the time, so we were quickly able to order. We originally got the pizza to go, but the pizza is just given on a plate, it was slightly beginning to mist, so we ended up just eating at the shop. The place itself is quite cozy, a good amount of seating, and some nice outdoor seating I'd the weather is nice! The pizza itself is solid! The tables also have parm, herbs, and crushed red pepper. It tasted good, and the size per slice is quite big! One is enough for me, and only ~$6! Good place for a quick and tasty meal!

The pizza is mid to thin crust and is massive! Great bartenders. Skip all salads, just trust me. Very cool vibe with the VCR rockin' movies from the 80s.

Ordered a large pizza half n half- potato pesto and pineapple- jalapeño pizza. It was delicious.

We came here for a quick bite late at night, but ended up staying for quite a while as we ordered whole pizzas for ourselves. These ended up coming out around 30 minutes after we ordered (they warned us of this before we placed the order). We ordered a 18" Macho Man and a 14" Umberto Classic which came out to around $75, which I find a little pricey for a pizza place. This was about enough to feed 5 hungry adults, but I think I had room for a bit more. The Macho Man was very meaty and totally hit the spot for a greasy pizza! Personally, I preferred the Umberto Classic. It comes with a sweet balsamic glaze on top and the arugula balances out the cheese and meat fairly well. The crust on both pizzas was very good! Thin, but still thick enough to hold up its toppings and remain crispy.

So I am not sure if some of these comments were done by past employees or owners of other pizza places. After reading the reviews, I was expecting really crappy service. I walked in to nothing but pleasant smiles, and very courteous waitress. I wanted to add that the back area was packed and she was very busy, but was still incredibly polite. Peter said we take 20 minutes and that's about what it took. I got my pizza and went back to my hotel was very pleasant surprise by the pizza. I will definitely come back to this place. Give it a shot. Ignore the haters on the other reviews.

Probably my favorite pizza place in the city. It's a bit overpriced to be honest, but it is the closest I've found to a true NY slice. The folks working here are very nice. The bar in the back is a cool vibe as well. Great place to start or end a night in the neighborhood.

This one was a tuff one. I originally wanted to just throw out a 5 star because I love this place. When I put on my review hat and actually write it out, it's just a hole in the wall pizza joint with great vibes... wait.... that's far from a bad thing... it's a great thing when that's what your looking for. Why I love this place? Is always there when I need it, it's simple, decent size slices, the people inside are friendly including the staff. I often find myself coming here on a drunken night of fun or sometimes after happy hour when I'm still hungry. Now for a realistic review from my average visit. My last visit I came after work when everything else was closed and I was just kind of hungry. It was a weekday, I got parking right up front. There were about 10 other customers inside. Only one remaining tray of cheese pizza so I had to wait 5 minutes for the next meat pizza. Their normal water dispenser was out of water, pretty much the entire time I was there even after bringing it to the workers attention. Luckily they have a bar in the bar and the lady gave me and my partner water just fine. By then our pizza was ready. My pizza it was greasy but not more than any other pizza I've eaten. Large size and almost well placed ingredients. There was a random bread bubble on my slice which mean a random toppingless bubble in the middle. There plenty of cheese and pep to cover the bare spot. The actual setting arrangement and cleanliness of the bar is barely passable but it's passes. Very retro vibes. It could use a few touch ups and love. Either way, it never stops me from coming with friends and loved ones. I will admit. It's not my favorite pizza and there is better in the area, but sometimes there just too much of a hassle. And the other places that aren't as much of a Hassel have terrible pizza. This pizza is good. You won't be mad you avoided the downtown madness and stopped here instead.

I was craving a slice of pie and missing aka Joe's pizza. The slice you can buy for 2.50 late at night in nyc. Anyhow, I heard about this place and stopped by for a slice. I folded the pie, and the crust was a little on over cooked side, so it didn't fold as well. Usually the slice is longer and little more on undercooked side. It was ok but satisfied the craving .

Karin has taken care of us countless times, whether it's a quiet Monday or an absolutely packed one due to the events at the town hall across the street, and they have always been warm, patient, and accommodating. I actually celebrated my birthday here because it's one of my favorite spots. I am part of the large group that one of the recent negative reviews is referring to. It happened immediately after the USA FIFA match, and the restaurant was the busiest I've ever seen it. Despite that, Karin still went out of their way to accommodate our requests that normally wouldn't be possible due to the rush, including trying to help with separate tabs when they'd already explained that large groups would likely need to stay on one check. As for things like grabbing water, silverware, plates, or chili flakes...our table had already gotten those before a majority of the group arrived. It's a casual pizzeria, on one of their busiest days ever. Setting and cleaning up the table (especially when seated outside) is not a problem for our group as we do it every week. Which is why it's upsetting that we opened our spot to someone that left such a nasty review. What stood out to me wasn't poor service. It's that despite how overwhelming it must have been to work post-FIFA, Karin was able to take orders, bartend, serve food, and close out checks with professionalism. Sometimes no matter how much effort someone puts in, not everyone leaves happy. The pizza is fantastic! I love showing up every week and trying what new slice they have come up with (in the year that I've been coming here there legit hasn't been a repeat). The atmosphere is great and the staff, especially Karin, have earned our loyalty over the past year. We'll absolutely continue coming back.

If that line is intimidating or wet (think rain!) then duck inside to Pizza and Pasta Bar for a delicious meal. While there we met the owners Bruno and Goli who were helping out behind the counter. They are the nicest people ever! So friendly and accommodating and always smiling. Their pride in their restaurant really shows in their care of the food and customers. I had the infamous meatball sandwich and my wife had the chicken carbonara. They gave us each a slice of their pizza for free as they had a bit extra from one that just came out of the oven. The food was prepared in front of you which is always interesting to watch and the charming brick pizza oven was directly in front of us so we could watch that process as well. Pretty cool. There are a wide variety of pizzas and pastas, desserts and drinks (alcohol too!) available on the menu. We ate at at the bar and had a wonderful conversation with the owners as they bustled about in the open cooking area. I enjoyed my meatball sandwich which had great crunchy crusty bread that held in the contents of melted cheese, red sauce and meatballs. A great choice to get when there. My wife liked her chicken carbonara and as the portion was pretty large, we were able to take some home for later. Extra yummy for me (ha ha)! The complimentary pizza slices were a hit for us as well. Napoli style with thin crust and flavorful toppings. We found out that Goli created the restaurant's design with the face of a woman that looks a lot like Venus in "The Birth of Venus" painting by Botticelli in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence Italy (just sayin'). There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. I took my slice and went to sit outside near Pioneer Square so I could be outside and people watch. Pizza was tasty and solid, but the crust was too dry. Unfortunately, the experience is consistently dampened by one of weekend bartenders. As others have mentioned, it's that taller bartender (Alex?) who repeatedly comes across as arrogant and dismissive to us; a less than desirable character trait for a bartender. It's such a pity because that is the sole reason we now lead our groups to spend their money and patronize other establishments instead. Recently we did give Diller another try, but sadly it's the same story and thus this feedback. Hospitality makes a HUGE difference. Bartending isn't just about making a good drink and expecting tips. As someone who tended bar all over Seattle for 23 years, I know how much energy and attitude shape a guest's night. When the service feels cold and passive-aggressively rude, it's hard to feel good about the experience. It's disappointing, because this place has so much potential. Hopefully management considers bringing in weekend staff whose personalities reflect the warmth and atmosphere the space deserves, there are plenty of more qualified bartenders in Seattle that would gladly fill their spot.
