I'm giving it a three and not a five star because they do not add enough veggies like lettuce or tomato. I have barely any lettuce on my sandwich. It's mostly meat and typically that's not a bad thing. The only thing they need to do is add more veggies like stop holding back on the veggies now we need to be healthy in America.!!! The service was impeccable. The only thing stopping me from giving it. A five star is that they did not know how to properly wrap a burrito wrap. And that is horrible coming from people in the restaurant business yes I'm in the restaurant business. The sandwich is falling apart. There is not enough veggies in the sandwich to even call it a sandwich. It is just meat, cheese, and a wrap with sprinkling a veggies. I was really hoping this was gonna become my new subway, but if they do not start adding more veggies to their sandwiches that I'm only going to refer this place to people that like meat and not to people who like sandwiches. First time here ever and was in the shopping center and was early to meet a friend so walked on in to check this place out. It's a casual order at the counter and they call out your name when your order is ready and you pick it up. Have a large variety of sandwiches, as well as soups, desserts and salads (garden, but macaroni, potato, pasta, and even prepared deviled eggs!) I've never written a yelp review in my life, but I couldn't leave this establishment and not. I used to live locally and had eaten here several times with good results, unfortunately this time that wasn't the case. The service was extremely slow, waited half an hour for 2 sandwhiches and party of ten that came in after us was served there food long before we were. There was mold on several cakes in the display case, and not just a spot or two. The bacon is pre-cooked, which for a $14 sandwich is outrageous to me. The soda from the fountain tasted like dish water, and I tried a few to see if it was a specific kind, but I couldn't even drink it. Good food, fast service. When deciding whether to eat fast food or good food fast, try good food fast at Padow's. Padow's has An extensive sandwich menu. They use high quality meats and cheeses. The sandwiches are large enough to split. They have wonderful fresh soups, salads and sides. Try the macaroni salad, it is fantastic. The cookies are great. This is the place to pick up a Healthy lunch for the office, pool, or picnic. You can dine in their large dining area inside or the patio outside. Padow's claim to fame are hams. They offer a full selection online that can be mailed. I use this service to order hams at Christmas. The hams Are always well received and packaged well. Everyone is so happy to get a Padow's ham for Christmas or Easter. I can't forget the Virginia Peanuts-they have those too. While Padow's is not gift shop per se, I have found gifts for family and friends here. The folks working here are very helpful and friendly, the shop is spotlessly clean and neat. Padow's is a great, locally owned and operated deli that replaces the standard Subway or Jimmy John's. By far, this this one of the best sandwich shops in the are! Recently new management took over and fixed a lot of issues, namely the weird hours. Since the new owner was originally just a customer, they experienced the let down of the shop closing mid-afternoon. Because of this, THIS Padow's now stays open later than their other locations! It was a very welcome surprise. Padow's also offers little rewards cards with a special hole punch that earn you a free sandwich, but they WANT to go completely paperless and instead track them with a QR code for your phone. All the same, they are still honoring and using the cards as they know not everyone has a phone or wants to use it for anything else aside making and taking calls, so if you choose, you can stick to the card system. Personally I'm glad to see business actively trying to limit it's impact on the environment! My go-to here is the BLT, but their menu is MASSIVE, so odds are whatever kind of sandwich you want, it's on the menu (If not, one assumes they'd gladly make it for you!) The soups are also good, along with their desserts. The dining area is nice and clean. If you're considering this place, I suggest you try it if you want a truly delicious sandwich! read more

Just had one of the best salads. It's hard to find a fresh cut salad so many are pre-cut and taste like your typical bag salad which is not bad but there salads are super fresh. They said they have a lady who only made a salad for them fresh every day. Best part is it's under 7 bucks and it comes in a big bowl which is nice because you can mix the salad dressing in it. Hard to eat a salad on a plate. The customer services was outstanding super welcoming. Just wanted to share this with you. The quality had really gone downhill and the service too. The sandwiches barely have more than a slice of meat on them and the last few times the lettuce on a cold sandwich was very wilted. Also, whilr I know how difficult it is to find good service, when you have a customer call you and specifically ask you to set aside a large container of soup and offer to pay for it, you should ensure the soup is put aside. Got there to an employee indicating she had not done that and act shocked the soup container was empty. And two weeks ago, 2 out of 3 sandwich orders were incorrect. When my Mother in law called, she was told "bring in the receipt and we will refund you". At 82 years old, she is not going to go out AGAIN for $15! Needless to say, not only was a sale lost today over the soup, but now two customers are also lost. My Mother in law and I will both visit other area restaurants. I am a fan of Padow's Deli. It is a bit dated inside, but when the sandwiches are good who cares! My favorite is the Virginian. I think the potato, pasta, and macaroni salad cup portions are a bit odd. The small size is basically a sauce container. The salads are good. I tried the deviled eggs on my last visit. I do not recommend the deviled eggs. They were far from fresh! I also noticed on a few visits that a few slices of cake had mold on them. The Short: Padows Hams & Deli has decent sadnwiches at exorbitant prices. Padows is stuck on the corner of a small shopping center at the end of the Powhite Parkway by Brandermill. It's very plain decor and a confused sense of whether it's a deli or a convenience store. Peanuts, candy bars, bags of chips, and a token amount of Pork products fill some shelves in the back. The customer service is sad - there were 5 employees working during my visit, none of whom acted as if they cared at all about the customers in the building. The order taker was disinterested in what sandwich I wanted, didn't know what was actually on the Reuben, and seemed confused when I asked if the bread was made in-house (it wasn't). The checkout counter employee was standing away from the counter using her cell phone. Purses and random office supplies where messily arranged with behind the registers - it's called the "back office" for a reason. The food was a rather sad portion for the price - I paid a total of $9.33 for a medium fountain drink and a Reuben that came with only a pickle. The reuben came served on a disposable foam plate ($0.012 from a local food service supplier - I checked). The corned beef itself was okay - a little tough, but not bad. The rye bread was okay, but came from a bag. The dill pickle was surpridsingly crisp - they might have actually cut it. The thousand island was okay and the saurkrat crisp, but I don't feel like this was worth $9.33. For $5 I would have a lot more satisfied with the food. There is open wifi here SSID: NETGEAR, but it may not actually belong to this restaurant. Would I come back? Nope. There's just no redeeming qualities here. I have never been so disappointed in the service and quality of food at Padows before. It was one of my favorite places to go because I think they have the best BLT. But I'll be going across the street to waterford grill now. If you don't want to use more than one leaf of lettuce or one small slice to tomato, I suggest you get a smaller wrap. All it is is bread and bacon and usually that's a good thing but there should be two other prominent ingredients. This sandwich has always been on point but I'm guessing something has changed. Raw veggies in the veggie soup (with no salt or seasoning), the Brunswick stew is too sweet, and the chili just bland. The sandwiches are pretty much what you'd make at home. I don't mind plain-jane sandwiches, but the prices are nuts for the quality. Easily spending $10-12 for a run-of-the-mill sandwich, small baggie if chips, and a fountain drink. The desserts also look stale and the salads are pretty morning with packets if dressing. Over the years, the appeal of this deli has overall gone down significantly. I've worked nearby for 8 years, but instead of it being my healthy go-to option, I only go now as a last resort when I'm in a rush and need to get back to work. I have always enjoyed the sandwiches and services here. They always have a variety of nice gift items such as VA Peanuts, hams, and pies for sale. The sandwiches and sides are very good. The only con is that if you get your sandwich to go the plastic it is wrapped in inside of the plastic bag can make it soggy. I usually just open the bag and put some napkins there. We didn't get anything to eat this time but when I return I will have to try something. I did notice the prices were on the high side but if the food is good it will be worth it. Service at Padow's should only merit a two-start rating, but the ham truly was tasty. My mother ordered a holiday ham over the phone and was greeted by unfriendly staff. Upon picking up the ham for her, we were met by a very unprofessional employee who barely asked us how we were doing. The store's employees' personal coffee drinks were also placed, opened, in the deli case, which is both unprofessional and unsanitary. The owner seemed very skeptical that we had already paid for the ham as well. This review will certainly seen picky, but for a restaurant that prides itself on quality service and food, it did not meet these expectations. I unfortunately will not be returning. read more
