    Jasmine Rice Dinner

The Indonesian food here was pretty mid (okay). It wasn't terrible, but it was giving gentrified Indonesian food. My friend from Indonesia I came with also agreed as well. We both shared the following dishes: - Hamachi Dabu-Dabu: The best of the dishes we had. I liked the tangy and spicy flavor of the fresh fish. The fish was pretty stringy though. - Sate Tempeh: Th texture was good, but I wasn't the biggest fan of the flavor. - Beef Ribs: I liked how the meat was tender, but wasn't the biggest fan of all the fat. The flavor also could've been better. The dinner was tapas style so the portions were on the smaller side. However, the price paid for them was not worth it in my opinion besides the hamachi. The interior was nice with the mood lighting. There was a decent amount of tables and chairs, but I would recommend making a reservation in advance. The server we had was super kind, attentive, and explained the menu items to us well. Overall, I'm not sure if I would come back here for dinner but would be interested to try the cafe and day menu items.

Looking for street parking was a pain or pay $20 right behind the store for public parking. Came on a Saturday night. Service was great. Restaurant was decorated super nice and small maybe around 6-7 tables of 4. Food I felt like was overpriced food for the bucks. I liked the green chilli that comes with the beef ribs but it felt like the beef ribs were not marinated enough that theres no flavor on the inside. Chicken sate and wagyu sate was delicious but only two skewer per order. We came here seeing the bubur ayam and bakmi ayam but that was only for lunch (I saw too many lunch pictures on google and on Yelp). Food does not come with rice. So if you order beef ribs ($32) you have to order rice ($3.50). All asians eat rice. So you're eating at around $35 per person unless you go cheap like us and have chicken sate ($8) or wagyu rendang sate ($18).

Came on a Saturday morning right at opening and we found street parking easily! There may also be a lot right behind the building. The restaurant is right next to Iki Nori and felt very spacious and modern. They have just one menu now and we got the Bakmi Ayam, Sate Ayam, Sate Wagyu with Rendang sauce, Gado Gado, side of rice and some Sambal! Also got the Pandan coffee which was strong! Favorite bites were the Gado Gado and Sambal. Other dishes were very good too, but I'd skip the wagyu rendang if you're looking for a more familiar renang dish. While the wagyu itself was good, it didn't soak up the sauce like in the classic rendang dishes. Service was very nice and they even packed up all of the few bites of leftovers that I still wanted to enjoy later!

I am sooo happy to get an Indonesian spot in the neighborhood! Better yet, this place rocks! Excellent Pandan coffee and their food menu looks delicious. They have a yummy blueberry muffin too! Super friendly service and spacious interior with lots of tables. Run to try this place before it blows up!

All of the were great and presented beautifully. My personal favorite was the Grilled Blue Prawn and Hamachi Dabu Dabu. Both the Pandan Tiramisu and Pandan Ice Cream were so good! Perfect way to end the dinner. Staff were kind and attentive. I love the interior of the restaurant.

Padi on Sunset delivers a thoughtful take on Indonesian cuisine with a small plates approach that encourages exploration and family style. The gado gado was vibrant and well-balanced, while the oxtail soup brought slow-simmered richness. The grilled hamachi with sambal added a modern touch--clean, crispy, and layered with a touch of heat. A great place to experience a range of flavors in one sitting, and if you've never had indo food it's a great introduction.

I was coming from schools and i heard there is a new Indonesia Restaurant nearby . Food is good However, portions are not big. for me , it was so little for the price. By the way, I really like Indonesia food. I like the bakmi (noodles) 18$and bubur ayam (porridge)15$. The satays are really good as well. My friends love the bubur ayam. I like the bakmi. Service is friendly. Place is spacious and clean. The vibes looks like we are jn Bali cafe shop.

Padi is easily one of the most memorable Indonesian meals we've had in LA. The food feels home-cooked in the best way, like everything was made with intention instead of just being pumped out for volume. We ordered a spread for the table and every container we opened got that instant "wow this smells good" reaction. The noodles with the minced pork and mushrooms were super comforting and flavorful, not greasy, and the sambals on the side let you dial in the heat exactly how you want it. Even something as simple as the way it was packed and labeled showed how much care they put into the experience. The family demolished it. No leftovers, no picking at food, just everyone quietly eating because it was that good. That rarely happens. What really surprised me is that they take their coffee seriously too. Most places focus on one or the other, but here the drinks are not an afterthought. The iced coffee was smooth, strong, and balanced, and the cream-topped latte style drink was a huge hit at the table. It turned the whole meal into more of a hangout than just a quick bite. The space is clean, bright, and welcoming, and the service feels genuinely warm. You can tell they're proud of what they're serving. Great Indonesian food is already hard to find in LA, and Padi makes it even better by executing everything at a high level. This is the kind of place you bring your family to and everyone leaves happy. Definitely going back.

Klepon was perfectly flavorful & bubur tasted just like back home in indo fav was def the drink - hard to find this kind of drink in LA!! Food was also great portions. Next time I come back to try the kopi gula aren!! Server/owner SO friendly and generous too. What a nice way to spend the afternoon with good ppl and good vibes.

Padi Indonesian Restaurant is an absolute gem in Hollywood. I came in for lunch and ordered the bakmie noodle and chicken porridge, and both completely blew me away--honestly the best versions of these dishes I've ever had. The noodles were perfectly cooked with great texture and deep, savory flavor, and the chicken porridge was comforting, rich, and super flavorful in every bite. On top of the amazing food, they also serve great coffee and a really high-quality ceremonial matcha, which makes it an awesome spot to just hang out, work, or catch up with friends. The space itself feels modern, clean, and welcoming, with a relaxed neighborhood vibe even though it's right in Hollywood. The staff were friendly and attentive, and you can tell they really care about the food and the guest experience. I'm already planning my next visit and I *cannot wait* to come back and try their dinner menu. This spot is a must-visit if you love Indonesian food--or even if you're trying it for the first time.

Let me first start off by saying.. I rarely leave reviews. When I heard about this new Indonesian spot called Padi and saw the pictures of their Bakmi Ayam, I knew I had to come. Being the 2nd person to arrive at the store shortly after 9 AM (I know - I'm crazy coming in 9 AM on a monday), I was greeted by the team & Brody, one of the founders. The restaurant is exceptionally clean being able to see the staff in the kitchen & also working on drinks. You can tell they are very spot on about maintaining the restaurant. After placing my order for Bakmi Ayam and an order of the chicken satay, Brody suggested I try a matcha strawberry latte as well. They made it half sweet with oat milk for me and it was just perfect. When the noodles arrived, I almost cried. I had been wanting to try this ever since they opened. Before I even remembered to take a picture.. I mixed it up and took a bite. It reminded me from home (and I'm not even from Indonesia). The soup broth that comes with the noodles reminds me exactly of "gong wan tang" from Taiwan, one of my favorite soups ever. I kept telling Brody how good it was (no cap). He probably thought I was just being polite, but at this moment, Padi became my favorite brunch spot in LA and one of my favorite spots - period. The chicken satay is juicy and marinated/seasoned just right. The peanut sauce was perfect with just the right texture. I literally felt like I was transported to South East Asia. All in all, I'll be back any time I have a chance - probably more than I expect to! 100/10 stars for Padi. thank you for putting your hearts into this place. Absolutely love it!

Just tried this newly opened Indonesian spot and everything was so good. The matcha latte was amazing, the chocolate cheese bread was super tasty, and the bakmi was seriously authentic. Definitely coming back.

I think I saw this place pop up on my social media which is how I got on my radar. I signed up for the newsletter and did a pre-order when they did a pop-up. I don't have a lot of experience with Bali/ Indonesian food, but this was such a fun, novel experience and the food was really tasty. I ordered nasi bungkus, the kueh lapis, and the es cendol. From their website, the nasi bungus contained the following. STEAMED RICE Fragrant lemongrass rice made with coconut milk, pandan leaves, and galangal SAYUR URAB Long bean and bean sprout dish with toasted coconut and kencur COCONUT CHICKEN CURRY Pasture-raised chicken, slow-cooked for six hours MOTHER-IN-LAW EGG Hard-boiled egg marinated in tamari and topped with chili paste TEMPE OREK Fried soy bean cake in a sweet and spicy glaze SAMBAL GORENG Spicy Thai chilies, shallots, and garlic, fried and finished with coarse salt KACANG BALI Bali-style salted peanuts ABON BABI Traditional dried pork garnish The kueh lapis is a fun colorful, coconutty dessert that is nice, thick and chewy. The cendol is a nice desserty drink made of coconut milk, pandan jelly, red bean, and diced jackfruit. The drink reminds me of something similar in the Vietnamese culture. I was a fan. The desert was beautiful as well, and had such a fun look to it. I like the chewiness, and it was fun the peel the layers. The nasi bungkus itself was a nice combination of flavors and textures. I bought some of that chili stuff in a jar and added some extra on top. I liked that there was a kick, but not so much where I started sweating. The spice was a nice level. I got a little excited and ordered a lot of food and was totally full by the time I finished my items. Pick up itself was really easy. After you pre-order early in the week when they do a pop-up, there's a time window where you pick up - and in this case it was Friday afternoon - night. When I got there, they were friendly, and just directed me towards the counter, where they did final prep to give me my food. They even gave me some reheating instructions just in case. Super friendly and you can tell they put a lot of care into their product. I hope they have all the success in the world and would like to order from them again.

They serve authentic Indonesian foods that remind me of Jakarta. Today I was really craving Ayam Goreng Kremes, because it's been many years since the last time I had it. Nasi Ayam Kremes is a combination of Indonesian style fried chicken, white rice, perkedel (fried potato pattie), fried tofu, fried tempeh, and sayur asem soup. The chicken is deep fried after it's been cooked in herbs and fully marinated. Very flavorful as I can really taste the different herbs and spices. Over the fried chicken is a generous serving of savory crunchy crumbs. There's also a side of medium spicy house sambal. I would recommend adding some kecap manis (Indonesian sweet soy sauce) and use this as dipping sauce. The half fried chicken is rather small, about the size of a Cornish hen. The soup is pretty good, even though I am not a fan of sayur asem soup. This tamarind-based soup contains green beans, chayote, corn rounds, and peanuts. The deep fried marinated tofu and tempeh are so yummy! They truly remind me of the good ol' days living in Indonesia, as they are the staple foods of the locals. The perkedel is just passable, possibly because it is served cold. Unfortunately, it isn't as crispy as it should be. The restaurant is small. Other than the kitchen crew, only one person was doing all the work. Good and very friendly service. My order did take a long time, however. If you're in a rush, you may want to eat somewhere else. Indo Bistro is the place where you really want to "santai" which means relax, take it easy. Indo Bistro is an Indonesian restaurant, mini-mart hybrid. They sell a variety of pre-packaged Indonesian snacks, shelf stable groceries, and also freshly-made market snacks, such as pastel, lemper, bakcang, rempeyek, etc. I also tried their savory snack Lemper, which is sticky rice stuffed with shredded chicken that's been cooked in coconut milk. After it is wrapped in fresh banana leaf, it is then char-grilled. Their lemper is really good, but very greasy. It's basically food and lip gloss in one. BOGO Lol Next time when I'm craving more Indonesian food, I'll be coming back to Indo Bistro. They have really good chicken satays.
