The quality of ingredients stand out at Pad Thai Too. Their meals taste fresh and is above the average Thai food restaurant quality in Maine. My order was fulfilled quickly and the front desk folks are always kind and pleasant. The portions are generous and the peanut sauce is an absolute must for any pad Thai orders. I also ordered a Thai iced tea which was DELICIOUS. The only down sides were the chicken was a bit dry but all the other ingredients and moister from the noodles made the dryness hardly noticeable. Don't believe the online menu. It's very old and they have no lobster dishes. And they do not have inside dining. However, They will prepare a take-out meal for you and welcome you to stay and use their tables. Do it. The food was very good. I was in the area for lunch and ordered pad Thai with chicken. Service was good. Takeout only. Truthfully this is only a 2 to 2 1/2 star experience. I did not find the pad Thai to have much flavor and oddly enough watery? For just under $16 with tax I would be hard-pressed to try them again as much as I enjoy Thai food. EVERYTHING they create here is with attention to detail and flavors. I discovered them 6 years ago and still cannot get enough of their food. I love how creative they get, and it all tastes amazing. They put forth the effort to make specials and different offerings like no other Thai restaurant I've eaten at. I wish some other Maine Thai (& other cuisines) restaurants would take note. This isn't your average Thai food, not even above average, it's beyond. It's truly a treat and worth our 1 hour round trip to get takeout. The fireballs are super addicting, can't get enough! But everything has been tasty and dream worthy. Tip: we often order enough for 2 days worth of food, which actually turns into 3 days worth of food. Also, if you're ill from any kind of cold, get their spicy items or ask for it spicier. This along with some of their ginger and garlic dishes & soups really help me feel SO much better every time! Thank you all for working so hard to produce a delicious meal every time! PS- if you only eat Pad Thai whenever you order from here- you're missing out (& you might not be "qualified" to rate Thai restaurants). This is one of Maine's top Thai eateries in my book. Menu more interesting than most places. Lots of good appetizers and soups/salads. The fish cakes are fantastic with a sweet-spicy sauce topped with plenty of cilantro, crushed peanuts and sliced cukes. The crispy fried dumplings are to die for with their sweet garlic sauce. This was the best Thai food I ever had. It is soo good, and one of the things I missed most when I left Colby. Living in California, I would think that I would have found a comparable Thai place by now, but nope hasn't happened. I'm still thinking about Pad Thai in Waterville after all these years. Nothing I miss more than ordering from Pad Thai with a bunch of friends on a cold snowy night and waiting over an hour for it to come since everyone else seemed to have the same idea. Or memories when the delivery guys mom wouldn't let him drive out in the snow. The cabs we took to get the food, trying to dig cars out of snow in our determination to get our Pad Thai. As for the food itself, the chicken red curry was soo good, not as creamy as a lot of other red curries, which I like. And the people here were always very accommodating when I asked for no peas. The Duck Ped Choo Chee, omg it was so amazing, the crispy fried skin of the duck and the perfectly flavorful curry. The pad thai here was also excellent. Spicy is very spicy here, I remember they had a star system, I usually got the two or three stars. Four stars would hurt for me to eat. The prices for this place was also excellent. I guess that I should be grateful that there is any Thai food in Maine, at all. The space is generic. Our waitress announced that she had just started on the job. I believed her. She was earnest, but disorganized to negligent. The most interesting part of the meal was the Hitachino Nest Beer. The white ale was light and a bit sweet. I followed it up with a bottle of Sam Adams. The fresh roll appetizers were, in the words of one diner, " a salad alternative." They were vegetables and tofu in light wrappers. The entrees were almost, but not quite, properly executed. The Yum Nuur, masaman chicken and pad Thai weren't quite prepared or spiced the same as other Thai restaurants that I have visited over the years. I guess one can allow a bit of license for the palate of an individual chef, but I just wasn't feeling the love. I would only eat here again if I were desperate for a change of pace. read more

The food here is great, especially considering that it's Waterville. For pad Thai staples, it's reliably good. Some of my favorite things: Dumpling Pad Thai- yum! Chicken dumplings on top of a delicious pad Thai Khao Soi- a soup-based noodle dish with all the right combos: sweet, spicy, crunchy, noodly! Green curry with chicken- a classic and especially good when you're not in the mood for noodles However, the service leaves something to be desired. Every time I order takeout, they tell me it'll be a ridiculously long wait-like an hour to an hour and a half- and when I show up to get the food, it's not yet ready and I have to wait another 20 or so minutes. Wait times for dining in house or delivery are not so horrendous, but still not great. You will definitely be hungry by the time you get your food! read more

Nostalgia! I was up at Colby for the weekend and ordered takeout. The staff was super nice and helpful, and the pad Thai, fresh Thai rolls, curry, and spicy green pepper stir fry were just like I remembered (from back in 2004!). I brought it to friends in my way home and was the total hero. I'll always love Pad Thai (Too!) and love coming back. Great food, great people, great classic Waterville spot :) read more

I went back again recently but was pretty disappointed with the meal. I ordered a lunch special: green curry w/ tofu and a side of soup. Price-wise, the lunch special is a pretty decent value. However, the flavors were really lacking. The tofu itself was as good as I remembered (very good!), but the curry itself was flavorless; it was extremely watery and lacked even a hint of herb or spice. I just got back from 3 weeks in Thailand and I appreciate Pad Thai Too more and more. Owner and chef here is Thai and recipes are dead on, many dishes here are better than Thailand due to better meats available here in Maine! That's my opinion. Larb, stir fries, yum salads, tum-yum soup, curries, Pad-Thai and Pad-See ew are fantastic and consistent. There is no better Thai beer than Singha and though not draft, they have it in bottles. I'm never disappointed no matter what I order but confess that I keep going back to the chicken pad Thai because it's far and away the best pad Thai I've ever had.
