We have been here twice. The first time was a great experience. We returned yesterday and found it just okay. The food is tasty, the service is good, but both dishes, were very filler forward... Not much protein or veggies. I had the spicy Pad Thai and my wife had the spicy basil fried rice. Both dishes lacked ingredients other than the noodles or the rice. Stopped here on the way to up to Bar Harbor based off other Yelp reviews, and it was the perfect reprieve! As others shared the outside does look run down, but the food and service was well worth it. Our waiter was so sweet and brought us delicious free cups of soup before our entrees. We got the drunken noodles (pad kee mao) and panang curry. Both were filling, fresh, and tasted amazing. The waiter brought us a little dish of candy along with our check. I never leave Yelp reviews, but it was these little touches that inspired me to go out of my way to share about our experience with them. read more

Wonderful! Fantastic! Don't be scared of location- this place is really great! The food is so fresh and delicious- the worse thing is trying to choose what to get- so many options! Family owned and operated and great service. My grand girl got an adventurous spicy noodle dish that was hotter than she is use to and the owner offered to make her something else- she said no she was "going for it" with the hot and spicy- so he brought over a glass of strawberry milk and bowl of candy to try and help. So sweet. And I ordered soup but she did t and he brought her a free bowl anyway! Highly recommend this place! A hidden gem! read more

This was not a great experience. I ordered the Choo Chee curry but was served warm milk with vegetables in it. No curry flavor at all. Not even salted warm milk. Slightly heated (maybe) coconut milk that was definitely watered down, with a handful of green beans, some cabbage, and 3 slices of carrot. 100% missing was the Thai basil, lime leaves, green and red bell pepper, onion, and broccoli that the menu claims it's served with. Also got Tom Kar soup.... I was served the same soup base as above, with mushrooms and more carrots added to it. It actually tasted overwhelmingly like what can only be described as unsalted carrot milk. Again, 100% missing was the lemongrass, scallion, and galanga (didn't even sub it out with a different kind of ginger, just left it out completely it seems). The two stars are for the Katsu chicken. They took good care to not serve soggy chicken putting all the sauces in the side. That was a nice touch. I wish the same effort and attention to flavor had gone into the other items. Also, change that fry oil. TL;DR If you like veggies floating around in unflavored warm milk and fried foods that taste more like their old black fryer oil than the actual food itself, the THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!! read more

Location wise it's convenient to get to and there's ample parking. First impression is that this place is divey. Avoid the restrooms if possible. The food and service are an entirely separate matter! We ordered many appetizers, drinks, meals (Korean, Japanese and Thai) and dessert. Everything came out so quickly and was well presented. The fresh rolls were fantastic, shumai, spring rolls, and edamame were great. Rice was heart-shaped and delicious. Curries we're flavorful and the vegetables in them were fresh and crisp, the tofu in my spicy fried rice was perfectly cooked, dishes were generously sized and half of us brought home leftovers. We would definitely return! Next time I hope to get here earlier to order Thai iced tea (caffeine alert!). Take out seemed popular while we were here and might be a great option to avoid the divey ambiance, if that's important to you. Service was great! They Don't Want Customers Near Them! Pull up and it says first thing no dining in which explains why nobody is there at all, not even 1 car! Then another sign says call is and we will bring the food to you, so they do t even want you to go in and see about a menu or specials. My husband and I ate here this weekend and it was awful. We had the cream cheese wontons and they had zero flavor. Also, the scallion pancake which was greasy and also no flavor. The worst was my katsu chicken. No sauce and a crappy iceberg salad on the side. Horrible mayo dressing for it. I asked for some sauce for the chicken with the rice. It was hoisin and the cheapest most bland flavored one at that. Just fried chicken in old oil and rice. I had heartburn and nausea the rest of the day. Service was fine. There is no ambience. I asked for hot tea and it was weird not green tea but regular black cheap tea. Instant I think gross. Overall no flavor or bad flavor. read more

I have visited Red Curry over the last 2 years several times and my family and I are always impressed by the gracious hospitality and attention to detail, and the food is excellent. We have a gluten and shellfish allergy and the owner and his family have been consistently phenomenal. Red Curry gets a lot of repeat business especially on Friday evenings so I'd recommend planning ahead. Red Curry is one of our top 3 favorites to visit in the Augusta area! My kids also love the Green Tea Matcha Boba here, as well as the Lavender Boba here and the Royal Tofu and Veggie Fresh Spring Rolls are Huge and a great way to get Vegetables into children! This very unassuming storefront (to put it nicely) in a tiny strip mall on an unattractive Augusta road provides a warmer interior environment with very good food. We ordered the pumpkin curry special which was expertly presented, fresh and delicious. The highest heat was ordered but the result was pretty mild. The offered hot sauce helped that issue. Brown rice can be had for $2 extra (bit high). My garlic tofu clear soup was super crisp and fresh tasting but seemed to lack a garlic punch, being double billed as such. Maybe it was a bad day but the food was terrible...and I was starving so almost anything would have been okay. The service was kind and nice so I wanted to like the food. The curry "entree" was tasteless and consistency was like thin soup, with soggy veggies and tasteless flattened chicken (if I could find them), the rice clumpy not fluffy, and the pad thai...come on! The pad thai stuck all together in a huge mound with about 1/4 cup of peanut sauce on top. Not even juicy enough to mix it into the pad thai to make it sorta become un stuck. This place is great. It's tiny inside but there's usually seating available. The service is fantastic and the menu is extensive. Every single thing has been good so far. Even the complimentary soup they give you is delectable. The chicken fingers are thin and crispy. The sushi is delicious and fresh. The things that aren't sushi on the menu are all made with good cuts of meat and fresh veggies. The prices are reasonable too. This place is a favorite stop on the way to and from my girlfriend's camp on Sebec. read more

Good value So we ordered the yellow curry and some chicken pad Thai with a side of dumplings for dinner. Both meals got us dinner and lunch, portion size huge. I would give this place a soild 3.5 out of five. I've been here three times and somethings fall flat. I got the yellow curry. The vegetables where fresh & tasty. But every time I have the curry I feel as though it's missing... curry? I wish they would add more seasoning. I love spicy food. I asked for level five spicy and I didn't taste any spice. Neither was my hubby's duck dish. Kinda of a bummer. Their sushi is really good and I highly recommend it. I am obsessed with Boba, but their Boba is OK. It is very sweet. If you order it, I highly recommend you mention in the notes how much sweetener you like. I asked for it to be less sweet and that was how I was able to enjoy it. Ive tried the mango & it taste like mucho mango monsters energy flavor. It's delicious! But again, it is very sweet. I still recommend trying out this place. I will preface by saying I still prefer Red Chili up by the airport, but I decided to give Red Curry another try since it had been a long time since I'd been here. Online ordering was super efficient and easy, which was awesome. My food was ready and brought out to my car when I arrived. They still seem to have a salt issue, but my food was tasty and satisfied a craving without making me feel heavy. This is a hidden gem in Augusta, ME. We've ordered from so many restaurants during this past month and this is the best restaurant food we've had in the price range and proximity to our area. The indonesian rice was full of flavor, the yellow curry was great as well, we got the summer veggie rolls which reminded us of the "spring" rolls from vietnamese restaurants in Dallas. The Noodles were spot on with just the right amount of sauce too. And the portions for take out were huge! Also, the food came out very quickly. No complaints, I highly recommend this place.
