We got a to-go order while in the area. Pretty simple order of summer rolls and pad Thai with level 3 spice. The summer rolls were good and I liked the sauce. It was thicker soy based that had lots of flavor. The pad Thai, we felt, was pretty bland in flavor and the 3 spice tasted more like a 1 spice. Hardly any at all. In Waterville for a Nordic ski race. Asian Cafe was able to accommodate our group of 11 for a seated dinner. Among the nicest staff I have ever encountered. Food was delicious - especially recommend the vegetable-forward fresh ginger stir fry and my Thai restaurant favorite Tofu red curry. Spicy fried rice had a nice kick at 2 level. Great vegetables mixed together. Very filling and was a hit with everyone. The Korean Pancakes crispy chewy and delicious- with a semi sweet dipping sauce. Battered chicken wings were interesting. I loved them. They were meatier than your normal appetizer wing, which I loved. Everyone I was with liked their combos, the orange chicken was great- I snuck a bite. This restaurant has some amazing food. I had the lunch combo meal, and it came with pad thai, crab rangoons, miso soup, rice, and egg rolls. Everything was absolute fire! So good! The staff are very nice, and super helpful. The boba tea is also spectacular. There is plenty of seating, as well. I love to eat out here when I'm in Winslow. Totally recommend it! read more

After an hour's-plus drive to Waterville, we were ready for some grub; making a beeline across the river to Winslow to check-out the well-reviewed Asian Café. From street view, it's very nondescript; almost "invisible" driving by. The bright and clean interior space is equipped with the basic dining means. The guys manning the front were busy, but friendly and welcoming. (They apparently do a lot of take-out orders.) We found ourselves an open table and got to our menus. As would be expected from their advertising, the menu is extensive, offering culinary dishes of four different Asian ethnicities (Thai, Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese). Because we were limited on time, we bypassed the a-la-carte and went with luncheon specials, which includes a main, a serving of rice, side salad, two veggie spring rolls, miso soup (which we both passed on since it was made with chicken broth), along with a couple of rangoons (which we passed-on, as well, since we're plant-based). (Thus, the photo of my meal doesn't depict those items; no alternatives were offered.) We both ordered different mains. In review of my meal: Rice was nice; spring rolls and dipping sauce were fine; the cabbage/carrot salad was OK; tofu-broccoli main was decent (very Americanized). (My mate's main, I was told, was "dripping with oil." From my POV, it was drenched; but, he can do his own review.) The luncheon price was decent. We have been coming here literally for over 15 years, our favorite Thai spot in the area. The Adapted well to Covid with outdoor seating and still have it to this day, so we ordered inside today and they served us under the umbrellas outside, very nice very friendly. They pretty much know our order when we walk in, Always friendly with a smile, food is great, people are great, A part of the community. read more

For way up here in Maine, didn't really expect to get a Korean fix, but... The Bibimbab was the best out of the 3 items we ordered. Great flavor! AND enough to feed 3 people! I meant to order the Pot Stickers (looked more like Korean Mandu), but ordered the dumplings instead. They were pretty tasty though. The Bulgoki was a bit of a disappointment, not as flavorful as most we've had, and the helping size was on the smaller size. It was really nice that they had outdoor seating. Wasn't cheap, but worth the money. When you need your Korean fix, you NEED it! read more

Our lunch was surprisingly perfect! We ordered a panang curry combo and a drunken noodle combo with the noodle a 4 out of 5 spicy. The combo comes loaded with mini egg rolls, crab Rangoon, salad, rice and the entree. All of this is presented in a fantastic separated plate and the portions are spot-on. The fried pieces were crisp and flakey and didn't come across as a reheat. The entrees were both perfect. My drunken noodles were the perfect 4 out of 5 spice. The veggies were cooked but still crunchy. The sauce was tangy and avoids falling into the sweet side of sauce. I had some of the curry and it was a hit. The curry sauce had the perfect kick without being one of those things you'll regret later. The staff also hustled. I think we probably saw the entire staff at one point. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for an awesome, well priced meal without needed to get dressed up. This will probably become a weekly spot. read more

I ended up getting takeout at Asian Cafe recently after another local Thai Food restaurant that came highly recommended didn't answer their phone when I called to place an order The gentleman who took my order when I called was incredibly polite and accommodating. I asked for no carrots on the first couple of dishes I ordered and when I requested the third dish he promptly asked "no carrots?" before I was able to say it. I also at the last minute said "oh is it possible to have chicken AND shrimp in the Drunken Noodles" and his response was a pleasant "ANYTHING is possible!" The restaurant is located on a busy street with clear signage so they were pretty easy to find. The takeout order was packaged well with each dish in black plastic trays and included utensils as well as several fortune cookies. Here are my thoughts on the four dishes that my fiancé and I ordered: Potstickers: pretty standard fare and exactly what I was expecting. The menu says that it's an order of 6 but I believe there were 8 total in our order. It also came with the usual dipping sauce (soy ginger maybe?). The potstickers themselves tasted pretty good as you could make out both the pork and vegetables in each one. Drunken Noodles: The restaurant happily accommodated our request to make this mild spice level, with both shrimp and chicken and to leave out the carrots. Unlike all the other Thai restaurants I've ever been to they used thin noodles like you would find in Pad Thai as opposed to the long wide noodles. I was fine with the substitution but my fiancé didn't like it quite as much. Be forewarned that if you say "mild" spice you may actually receive little to no spice as was the case with our noodles. I loved the overall flavor though and they put lots of good sized shrimp in the dish and not just 2 or 3 which sometimes happens when you order a chicken/shrimp combo Thai dish. Garlic Lover with Pork: this dish came with an order of white rice. I loved the flavor of the sauce in this dish and the diverse amount of veggies (normally it had carrots and baby corn in it but we asked for without and it still had a good variety of vegetables). My only suggestion would be that some of the vegetables should have cooked longer so they could soften more. The broccoli and zucchini were ok but the peppers and green beans were almost raw. This may be perfect for people who like super crunchy veggies but if I ordered this again I would ask them to cook the green beans and peppers a little longer than normal. Bulgoki: this was the least favorite of the dishes that I ordered. Both my fiancé and I thought it was off putting to serve the cooked beef on lettuce as the lettuce got wilted and almost slimy. The marinade on the beef seemed like it should have been stronger because the beef ended up picking up the flavor of the off-putting lettuce. This dish also came with white rice which was probably our favorite part about it because it meant we had more rice to drizzle the sauce onto from the Garlic Lovers dish. I definitely wouldn't order this again. Overall it was a pretty tasty dinner with the exception of one dish. I'm not from the area but if I get back to Waterviile again I'd like to try out some of their other dishes like the Pad Thai, one of the curries or Bibmbab which all looked delicious. read more

Ordered Alaskan roll and after getting home and opened the box found no Salmon in the roll, see picture. Just Rice and Avocado Red curry was bland with absolutely no heat or spice. Stopped in for a quick lunch while driving from Maine to NH. The service was friendly, although not fast. The food was fresh and hot, in temperature although not in spice, much to my disappointment as I had asked for 4/5. Alas, Sriracha came to my rescue after I asked for some! The menu was quite expansive and everyone in the restaurant seemed to be enjoying their food. Overall, I was very impressed by the quality of the food. As an Asian food foodie, I had not expected it to be this good. I will return the next time I am driving through and definitely order 5/5! read more

Duuuuude. GO HERE. I moved here from New York about a month ago and Asian Cafe is BY FAR the best Asian food I've ever had in Maine. Maybe anywhere. The menu covers Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese, Korean, you name it. Tonight we had yellow curry, orange chicken, crab Rangoon, Thai spring rolls, and vegetable soup - everything absolutely 100% perfect. Even the salad was delicious, and I almost never eat salad. Lunch specials are unbeatable. COVID makes everything a little more difficult and confusing, with curbside service and all that, and the owner was on point making sure I got taken care of. Great food, great service, can't recommend them enough. I'll be a regular for sure. read more

I literally eat Thai food all over this country, and have even eaten it in a couple of other countries that I've traveled to outside of the US. Never actually Thailand though, I'm sure that will be the best once I get there eventually. However, this was literally the best Thai food I have had. I loved every single thing I ordered and I ordered a lot of things so I could try it all. I wish I could visit my aunt and uncle more often just so I could come to this little diamond in the rough. The things I would recommend highly: the potato puffs, but definitely dip them in the sauce because it makes it more of a sweet-and-sour, seaweed salad, the duck curry, the pineapple, fried rice, the sushi, especially the spicy tuna and salmon rolls, crab, Rangoon, the Thai spring rolls, and the potstickers. I loved it so much that I stopped again and picked up a to go order from them on my way to the airport the next day so I could eat it again before I went home. The place itself is very simple with very limited seating and teenagers working as the waiters. Don't expect a high class five star restaurant level of service, and then you won't be disappointed. All of the servers were polite and helpful, I found them delightful. I even thought that the atmosphere for such a simple little place was quite nice. Always good food and service. The food here is great ... it's not the thick-syrupy type of food that you would find at a typical Asian restaurant. The dumplings are great ... go for the steamed. The pot-stickers are a bit "different in shape" from what I've seen ...but taste awesome. Their soups are awesome ... our favorite is the basic vegetable.
