I used Pack-Men Movers this weekend to move my boyfriend and I from a 4th floor walk up in boystown to an apartment in gold coast. From the moment I reached out to the when the last box was dropped off, I was so impressed. Jeanny (office clerk) even texted me the day before to let me know everything was all set and ready to go. On the day of the move, the 2 spots that I had reserved in front of our building were taken so Salvador, Tony and Alex had to park in the back alley, which is a pretty far walk from where my apartment was. In addition to that, one of my neighbors had her bike locked to her part of the walk up and wasn't home to move it so not only did the guys have to move all of our stuff down 3 flights of stairs, but they also had to maneuver around the bike. Overall this team and company was a home run. They literally took 3 hours to the minute, which is exactly what they quoted. They were professional, kind and considerate as well. My boyfriend (who's a lawyer) and myself (in marketing) spent over 3 hours combing through reviews and quotes and even created and excel spreadsheet comparing all of the local companies, so save yourself the time and research and pick Pack-Men Movers! read more

I had hired some movers to move me on June 1st 2019 (this year) and they were supposed to show up by 8 AM, by 9:30 AM I started to get a little nervous but it is the Chicago area so I gave them the benefit of the doubt but by 10 I realized they were a no call no show. So I started calling movers keep in mind this is the first of the month at the beginning of the summer. I gave Pac-men movers a call on a Saturday and they were available to MOVE ME THE NEXT DAY! On a Sunday!! The estimate and paperwork was all done online and was very easy and the guy were to show between 8-9am the next day to move a 2br first floor apartment to a basement apartment. They have some costs for moving time & Insurance but it's all worth it. They guys had my move done in 3 hours!! Edward was an awesome driver and pulled the truck right up to the side door where the things were to be unloaded. Raul was young and a fast mover! Gustavo was quiet and was focused on the job and him and Anthony were powerhouse movers lifting boxes I had filled with books and picking up twice their weight! Anything that you need just call and talk to the office and talk to Jeannette she is so sweet and get any of your issues worked out! I would hire this team again, and I will when I move again to my next and hopefully finally place. Btw they wrapped my furniture and couch so it was protected, we could have used a bigger truck they brought the 20' and we needed a 24' and I had to leave a couple things behind and I gave a table to my neighbor for helping me load my car with my delicate things and glass items but other than that things went really well. I noticed my couch corner had a nick out of it from probably hitting a wall (my couch is red micro fiber) so it's pretty delicate but I can sew it or fix it. I called 20 movers and was so happy Pac-men movers were there for me the next day! If they hadn't moved me I don't know what I would have done. Great attitudes from everyone! Thanks!!! read more

Used Pack-Men movers this past Saturday for a move from uptown to sauganash. Completed the move in 3.5 hours - all three guys; Salvador, Julio, and Jose were great! Non-stop the entire time and moving lots of heavy furniture, books, and plants from 3rd floor condo into a newly renovated house. No damage in either places and no real damage on the furniture either. Would highly recommend them! Hopefully we never have to use movers again, but if we do, we would totally use these guys. They don't take check, so have cash or credit card (3% charge) available. read more

Working with this company was great! Jenny was quick about answering questions and setting up the move, and she confirmed with me the day before by text. Our team was Salvador, Andrew, and Freddy. These guys were very nice and polite, and damn were they fast (also strong. There's nothing like watching one guy put a bookcase over his back that took you and a friend to inch across the room on sliders to make you feel like a wimp.). 1.5 stars. Honestly did not have a great experience with this company, which is sad given all these great reviews! I am thankful that they were able to accommodate a semi last minute move (i contacted them 2 weeks before the move) but did not have a great experience. - they are cheaper per hour but quoted time was almost 2x more than other companies and they ended up taking more than quoted time (I only had a few pieces of furniture to move as I even moved all clothing, kitchen and smaller items myself) SO THEY DEFINITELY DO NOT SAVE YOU MONEY - Arrived a bit late but started to charge at scheduled time - one of the movers was very inexperienced (maybe first move?) and the other mover basically had to instruct and teach him everything including how to wrap furniture etc which made the move slow - Did not disassemble furniture they should have -- somethings can't be shoved through the door! So ended up having to re-screw part of bed, tables etc that got loose from being pushed through the door that was too narrow... - had a partially broken table that is now super woobly because of being pushed through the door. they did offer a little bit of money off but not impressed at all because it was not a difficult move. All in all, I had 1 medium sized dining table with 4 chairs, 1 medium sized couch, 2 night stands, 1 desk, 1 chair, 1 full sized bed (no lamps, clothing, boxes etc just these pieces of furniture) and I was moving half a block down the street (5 min transit time). This move took almost 4.5 hours. My roommate and friends used different companies and even just friends' help and moved many more things in half the time probably with way less stress too. Next time, would reserve freight elevators earlier so can have more flexible moving times and use a different company. Not worth the money and not a good experience for me. read more

My 1st move was from my 2nd floor condo and Daniel and his partner was so polite and explained the process especially since my couch had to be moved out via the balcony. I used them again to move my furniture to my new home with 3 flights of stairs. This time it was Roberto and Alex. Great guys... they had the hardest time trying to get my couch in the narrow basement but they persevered after needing to remove doors and light fixtures. read more

Pack Men Movers was an amazing find! I was in a rush to find movers in order to move within the week. Jeanny was great at communicating quotes and answering questions - and made scheduling seamless. Once Moving Day came around, Salvador and Tony called me to let me know they were on their way within the quoted timeframe. and they were very punctual. Once they took a few seconds to assess my room, they went straight to work - Not wasting a second besides to wipe the sweat off their brow! They were so hardworking and hustled like there was no tomorrow. They did not waste any time wrapping/packing up my things and moving boxes like a boss. Third time is the charm (actually so were the first and second times.) This was my third move in the city using Pack-Men Movers. I originally found them via craigslist and took a chance, but they worked out so well that I have kept using them over the years. Now they have grown from a few guys and one truck to a fully licensed, bonded, and insured mover which has led to a price increase but the team is still great. Easy to book, great hustle from Miguel and his team (this time moving a second story two bedroom to a four story townhouse,) and they take cash or credit. I found the pricing to be reasonable and though I was quoted for a four hour move this time, we got it knocked out in two and a half hours. I don't plan to move anytime soon, but when I do I will be calling Pack-Men first. read more

A coworker of mine had used Pack-Men and told us he had a great experience, so my friend and I gave them a try! We moved yesterday and could not have had a better experience. -They are reliable and true to their word. -They were on time and even called to give me their ETA. -They were extremely fast! They moved my friend out of his apartment, me out of mine, and then both of us into our new apartment in 3 hours. So fast. -They were careful and efficient with all of our boxes and furniture. -They were extremely polite and thoughtful. -There's plenty of space in their truck and it was able to accommodate all of our furniture and boxes with room to spare. -They were much cheaper than any place I had asked quotes from. -The woman who I had scheduled the move from was quick to respond to me and made me feel comfortable. -We paid in cash because there's a 3% convenience fee for using a credit card. -There's no cancelation fee if you give them a fair heads up. I want to echo all of the previous reviews. Pack-Men Movers were great! Not only were they the best price (by almost $300!) but they were super nice and fast. They don't try to up sell you on things like other moving companies do. They charge you a flat hourly rate and a truck fee, and that's it. I would highly recommend Pack-Men. They helped us move our 2 bedroom apartment with VERY heavy furniture. It took them about 3 hours (pretty standard). Santos and his crew were polite and efficient. This has to be my best moving experience to date, and I've moved both locally and cross country several times. The guys at Pack-Men, Salvador, Julio and Roberto, were extremely professional, careful with all of our belongings, and most importantly, FAST! They rocked out my move in under 4 hours, including commute time. My boyfriend and I were thoroughly impressed by how efficient and careful they were; a hard combination to achieve when moving. And the cost to move was just as pleasing as the job they did. It was very fairly priced in comparison to other movers. However, combined with how fast they work, the cost was a great bargain. Saving money on movers definitely helped lower already-high moving costs. The icing on the cake is that they are a local company which makes me feel even better about giving them my money. I recently moved (Early September) and wanted to post a review of my experience with Pack-Men. First, they were very flexible in moving the date when my building threw a curveball at me and unilaterally rescheduled my move. (Rot in hell Kane Property Management) I appreciate this because we all know how difficult moving can be. On moving day, the crew of Salvador, Luis, and Julio were on time and were very professional, especially given the fact that they are all young guys. They were very careful with my stuff and its been a couple weeks and I haven't noticed any broken or missing items. The move itself took a little longer than I anticipated, but was still reasonable, especially since I was moving to a multi level, walk-up apartment on the hottest day of the Summer. I would definitely recommend. Their service is right up there with Yelp favorite "The Professionals" who I have used twice in the past. One upside, they take credit cards, so that is one less hassle on moving day. The downside, they hit you with a fee to use one. In this day and age, that is uncalled for, IMHO. You may think you hate moving- you don't. Compared to me you are mild mannered. Moving is an unbearable pain that must be avoided at all costs. This is first time I've ever used movers. Jeanny was prompt with returning email and very professional running point. Julio, Hector, and Fernando were our movers and they were absolute monsters- not size-wise, but they were mighty. When I took off the cover I realized it was much more than just a "loose screw". The metal is totally bent and plastic cracked. Would not recommend if you like your stuff intact. read more

Edgar and his crew moved my mother from a house in Skokie to a 2 bed condo with ease. 2hr load and 2hr unload at a breakneck pace. No damages and super professional the entire time. They managed large old furniture pieces amazingly well and were very considerate of fragile, smaller items. I would recommend them to anyone. We have a 3 bedroom small ranch home we moved from and they still brought 5 guys and TWO trucks. I can't tell you how thrilled I was to see that. We used Pack-Men Movers for a move from Logan Square to the Western suburbs a couple weeks ago. Our crew was Salvador, Junior, and Raul. They were amazing, we could not be happier. These guys arrived early, were total professionals, worked their butts off, didn't break anything, didn't lose anything (unlike the last movers we used), and even finished earlier than expected, so our final charge was about $120 less than what we had been quoted. They were very careful with all of our fragile items, our furniture, and well... everything! Moving is incredibly stressful, and it can be very expensive as well, but my wife and I agreed that this was some of the best money we had spent. I hope we don't move again anytime soon, but if and when we do we will definitely be giving Pack-Men a call! read more

I had pack-men movers help us with our move in August of 2018. I wasn't going to write this review but I came up on them on Yelp and remembered how upset I was. First if all, they were super late because their last move "ran late", so they gave us an extra mover for the hassle. Cool right? Wrong! All the movers but one were absolutely NEW and had never done a move before. Why this company would decide to TRAIN new employees at the cost the the client is BEYOND me. Second, the truck they sent was too small and didn't fit all our belongings. We literally had to have them take TWO trips. Third, we had already packed up our belongings in boxes and had them ready just to be moved, and it took ridiculously long. I am not even exaggerating that our move was completed at about 1 a.m. To top it off, when we refused to pay until we spoke to management, we were automatically treated like we weren't going to pay and our concerns weren't taken seriously. They ended up lowering our total price by a little bit (not 100% sure how much at this time), but to be honest, I would have rather paid the extra amount for better service. Never ever again. Please save your time and choose another company. Very very unprofessional. read more

I couldn't have been more pleased with this move. I had two grandfather clocks and small amount of other belongings after the sale of a family home moving from the Chicagoland area to Indianapolis, Indiana. I lucked out because one of the crew members was knowledgable about removing the mechanical parts of one of the clocks. Everything arrived safely. We've used Pack-Men for two different moves and both went great. Their rates are competitive and crews are easy to work with. For our most recent move we had Julio, Miguel and Jermaine. They arrived during the window, called ahead of time, were very professional and did a great job. The thing I liked best about these guys were how fast they were. I was quoted for 4 hours and these guys got the job done in 3. Plus they had a great sense of humor, which made things all the better since moving is always pretty stressful. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was because during my first move they dinged up some of the furniture and during the second move a mirror broke. But this wouldn't stop us from using them a third time. They were honest and transparent about the damage and gave me a discount on the spot so I didn't have to hassle with insurance. It wouldn't and didn't bother me but maybe some other Yelpers would get pissed about this...hence 4 stars. We would definitely recommend these movers and use them again! read more
