Stopped here for breakfast on a Saturday morning and enjoyed the great food and the view of Stratford square and a bit further out the Pacific Ocean. Having never been here I didn't realize you ordered at the counter. The menu is rather large, but I wasn't rushed into ordering. I quickly jumped on Yelp and found that most were raving about the Sugar Spiced Salmon Hash so I ordered that and a cup of coffee. Found a table with a heater nearby as the wind was blowing pretty good that morning. Food came out in about 10 minutes perfectly heated and looked amazing. I knew when I placed my fork into the first poached egg and it was perfect that this was going to be well worth the visit. I couldn't have asked for a better meal and view for the money. Breakfast in Del Mar was a success on this day and I can't wait to get back out to California to have this meal again. It will be my first stop next time out. read more

They get their salmon from Pacifica Del Mar restaurant and it is always perfectly cooked. Love this place for a quick lunch. It has a great menu from salads, wraps, soup and even burgers. Try to Yam chips and Thai chicken wrap! It has a great informal dining area. Mostly inside with a few seats outside. You order at a counter so groups are great. Can also call ahead to go and eat it there. read more

I have to agree with recent comments. I have worked next door for over 5 years and recently the service is terrible and the staff (Jesus/David/Nick) forget the simplest of concepts. I won't be dining here any more and I would warn people they will forget your order, mess up ingredients, or take the longest time ever to serve your food. read more

Great location with sun deck seating for viewing the Pacific Ocean from Del Mar. Their breakfast choices are great, and I highly recommend the breakfast buritto which is filled with scambled eggs, bacon, and chipolte mashed potatoes before being topped with a red sauce. read more

Do not bring your kids here. This place used to be family friendly and had a great kids menu. They recently killed the entire kids menu for lunch. I talked to the manager and it was clear they were not interested in accommodating children. She suggested the $10 soup and half sandwich as the best kid option. They hired a new executive chef one month ago and he decided to streamline the menu to make it easier on the kitchen. Basically, this means they were losing money on families. Plenty of other family-friendly places in the area. But the view is nice. read more

Review of lunch. Ordered the tuna sandwich with chips and took 20 minutes for them to get the food to our table. Half of our group had already finished their lunch before I got mine. Food itself? Sandwich was dry and not very tasty at all. Bland and lacked any substance other than mayo. Bread was hard which also did not help. Tuna tasted like it came straight out of the can. Had better for cheaper. I felt completely dissatisfied of both service and food. Do yourself a favor and go to Board and Brew down the block. There's no reason to eat here. read more

This was my first experience with this place. My boyfriend and I were meeting some of his friends there. When I ordered a tuna salad sandwich I was told they were out of tuna so I decided on the cobb salad. I also ordered a coffee and we took our number and sat down. I was never called or notified when my coffee was ready so after several minutes I walked up to the drink window and located several cups of coffee and had no idea which one was mine. After several attempts to get someone's attention I finally just had to yell out and wave to get someone to help me locate the correct drink. The coffee was ok, neither bad nor that good and just mildly warm. My salad was not good. It was very salty and the avocado had no taste at all. One member of our group did not receive his meal until everyone had already finished eating. I don't think I will ever eat there again. read more

We were on a little day trip up the coast today and decided to stop here for some breakfast. My husband ordered the bacon, eggs, potatoes. I had the banana pancakes The food was alright, nothing spectacular. I ordered. Regular coffee, got the cup from the guy behind the counter and I didn't notice till I was almost done drinking from the cup, that the other side of the cup had lipstick on it (not mine)-ewwwww. I should have complained but I was trying not to think about it for fear of losing my breakfast. Yuck. Dont think we'll be back-check the cups before you fill it! read more

Great for quick and casual dining. The food isn't anything special (though they did have some veggie options) and it's only set up for counter service, but I'm giving four stars because the view is stunning. All the other restaurants on the main street have no or just a partial view of the ocean. Had wedding reception here on 6/27. Not super impressed. Paid over $36/person for a passed appetizer cocktail party - and many guests complained there wasn't enough food, even though I was assured there would be plenty (and even had it in my budget to pay more!). I know it was an appetizer reception, but there were a few people who had nothing to eat at all. The food that did come out came out slow and cold. This doesn't affect my rating, but I also received a card in the mail from the manager that said "We hope your guests enjoyed their entrees," but I didn't serve entrees. It was a nice thought, but not very well executed and the manager obviously didn't know who I was or which party was mine when she sent the card. There was one terribly rude server who, when asked to change the song on my iPod, replied "this is bull*#$%." After we complained, she was put behind the bar for the rest of the night. One waitress was awesome, and the rest were just "meh." Also, last call is 10:45 - and I was told that the day before the wedding. That was annoying. Great location though. read more

This place is awesome, how can you not give this a 5?? Food is very healthy, light and tasty, great coffee and easy to park and get there, plenty of seating. Sometimes full but after a few minutes tables always open up and you can take your dog there. read more

We dined here for breakfast one Friday morning, during a day off from work. The mocha I ordered was made just right, and was a fantastic start to the morning. In addition, I ordered the Pacifica Huevos, which is essentially huevos rancheros. It was some of the best huevos rancheros I've had. Service was friendly and quick. I was a bit disaapointed with our food. My boyfriend had the Eggs Benedict and I had the Salmon Hash. The potatoes on his plate was cold, the poached egg was done well but hollandaise sauce was also cold. It made the plate almost inedible. My Salmon Hash was good but too creamy. Halfway through the plate I craved for another flavor to offset the richness of the dish. I probably won't give Pacifica Breeze Cafe another try anytime soon. read more

The view was nice, the weather was perfect, the food was great...the service was horrible. It was a Monday afternoon - I ordered the salmon salad and my colleague had the chicken. It was not a busy day, we were seated right away. The other waiters were always around, our waitress was MIA....it took about 20 minutes before she took our order; an hour and a half later, we had to go up front to pay. Our waitress was like, "Oh, are you ready to close out now?" Uh...yes, like 30 minutes ago. I might come back again for the food, but maybe not for lunch. The only reason this didn't get more stars is because the food has to be brought in from the restaurant upstairs, and by the time my entree arrived, it was kinda cold. Also, it's not really a full service sort of place-- you order at the counter, they give you a number, and then you find an available seat. Good view and good food. Place is kind of small but they have a good variety of options from healthy (Del Mar plate which is scrambled eggs whites with salsa, black beans, steamed broccoli and flour tortilla ) to sweet (Toasted Pecan Waffles served with caramelized apples, orange caramel cream cheese) and great coffee and OJ. Only negative is it's really small and sometimes you have to wait a while for a table but it's not so bad. At least you have a little view of the ocean. read more

I wanted to give it 3 stars, but after really thinking about it, I went with 2. Not sure why everyone gives this place such rave reviews - it was average at best. I went with 2 stars because of the prices being so exorbitant compared to the quality of the meal. I don't think it's terrible, just plain old average, and priced as if it's terrific. So, to start with, this isn't just my opinion, I was there with a date, who agreed with my take on this. We ordered 3 things - an appetizer (calamari), and I ordered the seared prawns and she had the "house special" sugar-crusted salmon. My prawns dish could not have been more bland - the waiter told me it was "spicy" but it wasn't, and it wasn't tasty either. It was like a basic tomato sauce on prawns with some garlic thrown in for flavor. And the prawns weren't "seared", they were simply cooked, probably in a pan, and were adequate. The salmon dish as a whole was kind of gross - the salmon was overcooked and the sugar crust might've worked on the salmon, but it permeated the garlic mashed potatoes and green beans and did not work with them at all. Total mismatch of flavors. The calamari was good, and the sauce they give you with it was tasty. So, if you go for just some apps and drinks, then you'll probably have a better experience than I did. Bottom line - food could've been better, but the high price is why I went with 2 stars. $88 for dinner and 2 drinks (1 each) - not worth it at all. Footnote - we practically had to flag our waiter down to place a drink order. We got to the table with our drinks that we bought at the bar, and once finished, he never asked us if we wanted another. Kind of annoying. We had to ask the server to tell the waiter that we wanted another drink. read more

My favorite lunch place in Del Mar! Set above the main street of Del Mar with a partial view of the ocean, it's the perfect relaxing spot for an afternoon bite. I'm never disappointed with the food and atmosphere. I love the wraps and yam chips. Large portions leave you with delicious left overs for later. They're also very generous with the wine. Without the view this place would be a 3. My sister ordered the grilled pastrami panini. What she got was a pastrami sandwich on toasted bread. Perhaps we are wrong, but a panini (to us) implies a press. I had the caesar salad, which was fine but nothing to set it apart. We both ordered large drinks, which were just regular drinks. It was a hot day so we downed them fairly quickly, but they were never refilled nor did we see a place to refill them ourselves. Go for the view not the food read more

This is a cool place with good food and a great atmosphere. We ordered brioche French toast, caramel apple waffle and short rib hash with poached eggs. All was good (except poached eggs were cooked all the way through -- not runny like they should be), but ultimately, this place is a couple of notches below Americana Restaurant across the street. If you only have one breakfast in Del Mar, Americana should be your choice. Lunch and dinner are great there too. read more
