The portion was huge and the price was very reasonable. We brought our little girl with us and even her ate a LOT. The parking gets validated which is very good deal. This is my favorite "Go To" brunch place! The view is beautiful (with a nice ocean breeze), the food is wonderful and the service is great! The manager Hannah does a great job of making everyone feel welcome. We come here often and love that we can bring the dogs! Some of my favorites are their Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich, the Fish Tacos and the Avocado Toast. I love the fresh organic greens and their fries as side choices. We went there last weekend around 10 am on a Saturday. The food was great and so was the atmosphere. The dining area is mostly outside with a few tables located indoors. We had breakfast here and it was great. My wife had the Banana Walnut pancakes and they were great, I had the Crab Benedict and the crab was nice and lumpy it was very tasty, my niece had the eggs and bacon and she is a certified bacon taster and she rated them delicious! It was cool they have coffee refills on the outside window so you don't have to wait around for a waiter or waitress to refill you coffee. My wife and niece had the hot chocolate and they said is was one of the best they have ever had! This is a very casual and comfy place to go and hang out in Del Mar. Atmosphere 5 stars -- the ocean horizon peeks over the roofs of the houses lying between the main drag and the beach. For a lot more money, you could eat at one of the full-ocean-view places upstairs, but this is great for a light less $$ lunch. Food good but nothing brilliant. Went here today with my better half after an amazing hike on the water at Torrey Pines. Its set up similar to a walk up french bistro type. The service was amazing and all the workers were bubbly and seemed to enjoy their job which made the atmosphere truly enjoyable. Their patio has an amazing view with a calm breeze. We ordered the Turkey Burger and the Crispy chicken sandwich which both were extremely delicious. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful. We even finished off the meal with a homemade chocolate chip cookie and a glass of milk. Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice, healthy, relaxing lunch... Enjoy :) read more

Pacificas brunch/coffee location open during the morning and early afternoon. Beautiful view. I have not tried the food, but the coffee is 3 star at best. The coffee from the dispensers is a bit watery and burnt tasting. The iced mochas milk the day I got it tasted like milk does when its a day from being completely sour. I wish it were better because the only other spot I have found in the area to grab a quick coffee is starbucks and I prefer local spots. The service is always friendly. They are busy everytime I have went. Still a spot to try for a mediocre coffee and a decent scone with a fantastic view. read more

The ambiance for patio dining was great. Although the food was good quality-- I was disappointed with the "Heirloom Tomato" Avocado Toast. Pet peeve of mine-- a dish claiming to be heirloom and being let down. Zero heirloom tomatoes here, just grocery store mass produced cherry tomatoes. I ordered the salmon salad to go, it took about 20 minutes and was delicious but the piece of salmon was very small. All the staff is really friendly and helpful but if your in a hurry I would recommend going somewhere else. For a sit down breakfast or lunch I definitely recommend eating here. read more

I've been a customer of Pacifica Breeze for quite a while. This is a great place to go for a consistently beautiful view and nice atmosphere. Everyone knows where it is so it makes a great place to meet friends. Ther last time I was there I ordered the special omlette of the day. With egg whites and Jalepenos. It was over $10. I was more interested in enjoying the morning and my conversation with my friend than I was in complaining so I did nothing, but all I got on my plate was egg whites and Jalepenos. I overpaid for this. :( It would have been perfect if someone stopped by our table, after the food was served, to check. Then I'm sure they would have made it right. Next time I'll be sure they hear my order and will check what's on my plate when it comes out. read more

The staff is great especially Chase and Susie. Dog friendly--ask and they'll bring out a bowl of water. Very important to know that you order at the counter and pay and they give you a number on a pole. They bring your hot food and cold food to you. Coffee and drinks are set in the window bar and they yell out what it is. I go here almost every Friday and quite often after a walk on the beach. They are 2 1/2 Blocks to powerhouse park beach access and you get two hours of free parking. I love this place! Can't understand what the problem is with some of the other reviews. Awesome Place.. Was staying in the mountains, so needed a day at the beach.. Came here early sunday morning after church, got a great table with a beautiful view. Food was Excellent (had an eggs benedict.. seems they have a lot of variations.. im sure they are all excellent), a coffee and a Mimosa. Only problem is that as soon as I took my first bite it started raining ... (whoever said it never rains in Southern California never went on a vacation with me..lol) Anyway, we all scrambled to get seats under cover or inside, everyone shared tbales and had a good time. We're long time Del Mar residents and the Breeze was always our "go to" for weekend breakfasts and occasional casual lunch when it was the original owners (Kip, etc) New ownership, breakfast at the Breeze, was completely lackluster in taste - lukewarm, zero taste. That was a year ago. Went back today to give it another chance after our long hiatus. Ordered the breakfast sandwich and an omelet - both were warm at best, without taste, potatoes were obviously from the day before. Won't be going back. We talked to the manager who offered to do something to make up for it - but all we want to do is enjoy a delicious breakfast at one of our favorite Del Mar haunts! And it's evil because coming here makes it virtually impossible to go back to work. Perhaps it's so hard to go back to work because I'm so preoccupied pondering a pile of perplexing questions, such as: --How was I supposed to know that a 45-min lunch with one of my work-buddies would turn into over an hour-and-a-half of chit-chat and relaxation? --How was I supposed to know that this place has one of the most beautiful views in Del Mar, ensuring that I spend extra time dawdling around and admiring the scenery and the Pacific ocean waves instead of heading back into the office? --How was I supposed to know that this place makes one of the most delicious sandwiches ever -- the sugar-spiced salmon sandwich? --How was I supposed to know that this sandwich contains absolutely everything I love: perfectly cooked salmon, red onions, mayo (aioli?), and a soft and chewy torta roll? --How was I supposed to know that the sandwich comes with a generous serving of sweet potato chips, which are flavorful and tasty and nongreasy and generally yummy (albeit lacking in salt)? Last, but not least... --How could I possibly have known that there's a quick and inexpensive gourmet-ish lunch with free validated parking just a couple minutes from my office? pretty days in san diego.. should be spent in a place with pretty food overlooking pretty views. that is what pacifica breeze cafe. the simply breathtaking view is quickly enhanced by delicious food. we rolled deep with five and getting a table on a busy monday labor day weekend was tough, but we managed. we ordered the cafe out hitting all highs on the menu. the white chedder grilled cheese was quite the fancy little sandwich. this is no kraft single action here. the lovely toasted sour dough bread over the most blissful cheese and happiest little tomato that was encapsulated inside, was utterly delectable. the thai chicken wrap in its spinach tortilla with all the goodness of grilled chicken, veggies, brown rice and the most yummiest mango-peanut sauce was surely something special. there was a nice tangyness to the sauce, and it was light, but quite satisfying. the lamb gyro was beautifully executed, wrapped so lovely and happy in foil, and the perfect ratio of cilantro white sauce , onion, and tomato. it was so simple and elegantly constructed, made it easy to enjoy. the thai chicken salad too was a huge ole portion! my goodness. all in all. quite lovely. just my goodness, that bowl was as big as my face! and they were not skimpy on that chicken! there must have been a whole bird in that bowl! and finally.. those yam chips. ooohhhhh those yam chips! perfect crunch and compliment to the sandwiches. yay for yam chips. truly another yay for yam chips. however.. no place can be heaven right? the utterly fancy-named raspberry fizz cocktail seemed like the perfect compliment for a beautifully sunny day.. but really? that was a rasberry stoli and soda. Stopped by on my lunch break to grab a sandwich. I work in the Plaza at a nearby clothing store. Customers always come in to our store talking up how great their food is so I thought I'd give it a shot. Being a vegetarian, my options were pretty limited so I opted for the mozzarella and tomato sandwich....description said it would have caramelized onions and pesto sauce it... I get my sandwich and first off...it's not mozzarella cheese. Whatever cheese that was on it was disgusting....half melted, sweaty, and oily. The tomatoes weren't even ripe, the pesto sauce was pure oil, and there definitely weren't any onions on it at all. The side salad was just a handful of lettuce leaves with some pomegranate seeds on it and no dressing. Total waste of money. Definitely won't be going back there. And it didn't help that the waiter was just totally creeping on me hardcore, too. Save your money, go to a classier joint than this if you're looking to eat out in Del Mar. read more

There are not a lot of places in Del Mar where you can eat a fine meal and have an ocean view without emptying your piggy bank. But you do have that option at Pacifica Breeze cafe. It is cafe with an outside patio that is open for breakfast and lunch everyday in Del Mar. The place gets pretty busy, but the crowds are sometimes worth it. Pacifica Breeze cafe serves hearty breakfasts --- I'm talking eggs, sausage, omelettes, and frittatas. None of that pastry businesses. And about every meal is under $10 and you get free refills on your coffee too. The atmosphere at the cafe is pretty casual despite its pricey zip code. Patrons make their order at the counter and their food is brought out to them. But nothing is more casual than eating along side a pooch (Pacifica Breeze cafe allows dogs on the patio.) But if you are not a dog person, no worries, the patio is big enough for everyone and anyone who wants to have some tasty eggs while overlooking the sea. read more

We had our wedding reception here and it was absolutely fantastic. It holds up to about 70 people max, so it's the perfect spot for a smaller wedding. Our guests were very impressed with the views, the food, the service, everything. For budget brides, this is the place. They don't charge a rental fee since it's a restaurant (most places charge around $3000) so you really save money there. The food package we chose included four types of appetizers passed for two hours (we had crab cakes, mushroom phylo things, chicken satay, and some steak phylo yummy thing and they just keep bringing them out no matter how much everyone eats), then we had a buffet of ceasar salad, mashed potatoes, bread, veggies, sugar glazed salmon (that we're still getting compliments on) and dessert. Normally it is served with creme brulee for $38/person, but we love tiramisu far more than cake so we upgraded to that so it ended up costing $40/person before drinks. You get to choose your bar options as well and can host just beer and wine all night or host an open bar, or you can choose to do it for just a few hours, then turn it into a cash bar. I was able to drop off all the decorations (it took three trips!) Thursday morning along witha list of instructions, and they had everything set up perfectly when we arrived Saturday night. Andrea is their fabulous party coordinator and she was like having a wedding coordinator for free. She was such a great help and I bet I sent her thirty emails before the big day. She was always responsive and super helpful. After dinner they move some of the tables to make room for the dance floor. It's not a huge dance floor, but it was perfect b/c it wasn't so spaced out. The older folks who weren't dancing mingled around the fire pits. They even hung paper lanterns from the overhang for me and it just made for the perfect evening. I cannot recommend them enough. Afterwards, the younger crowd had a short walk to En Fuego for an after party. Not that any of us lasted long, but it was still a great ending to a perfect day. read more

He contacted me and offered to make it right. He did not pressure me to delete or alter my review, which makes his offer even better. This was a professional approach to a customer with a problem. I appreciate his actions and have updated my review. The facts of the matter remain -- bland sandwich and slow service on a not-so-busy Sunday. However, the response from the manager made all the difference. I've upgraded my rating to 3-stars. He also agreed to mention the issues to his staff and I feel they will work on improvements. Honestly, the fried chicken sandwich could have been made a bit more flavorful with simple salt and pepper, or cheese, or mayonnaise, or an alternative sauce besides Tartar. Perhaps they will offer a few of these in the future. I really wanted to like this place, especially since it is a new-to-me brunch place in Del Mar. There are a lot of positive reviews, which brought us in the door. In light of this new development, I will plan to visit Pacifica Breeze Cafe again in the future (most likely for brunch). The sandwich was supposed to come with coleslaw and Tartar sauce on it, but neither of those sounded like they would be good with a fried chicken sandwich. So I ordered it without those and requested cheese and lettuce. The guy at the cash register made it sound like he couldn't add cheese to the sandwich, but that he could add lettuce. I thought either the chicken or the fried might have some flavor to it, but it was without a doubt the most bland sandwich I've ever had. The yam chips also had very little flavor and were a little bit soggy. This cost $13. We also ordered a Gatorade and one of the small bottles of juice. The juice cost $10 and was not worth it. Ultimately, the meal cost almost $30 and was not great. It took almost 25 minutes for them to make a bland fried chicken sandwich when there were no other customers around. read more

Pacific Breeze Cafe is a little breakfast and lunch place in the Del Mar Plaza. Its a casual extension of Pacifica Del Mar upstairs. You order at a counter and they bring the food out to your table. They have a few inside seats but most of the tables are outside on the covered patio... being on the second floor of the plaza, they have a pretty nice view of the village and the ocean. They menu is limited but everything on it is great... they have some vegetarian options if that's what you are looking for. Prices are good considering the location, and the staff is helpful and friendly. Check this place out when you want your food fast, but not fast food! My recommendations are the ham and cheese panini or the fish tacos.... and what ever you get, get it with the house made yam chips! read more

Decided to stop in on our way to San Diego from Newport. You can sit anywhere and go up to the counter to order. They will bring you your order. I had the Eggs Benedict and my boyfriend had the breakfast burrito. I really enjoyed my Eggs Benedict and would certainly get them again if we eat here again while in town.
