Pacific Vision Optometry - Optometrists Near Me - Sacramento, California

I usually don't leave reviews, but this time I wanna say that I highly recommend this place. I have been patient with doctor Tran for over 4 years now and he is very competent! He is the only doctor that is able to find the right prescription for my eyes. I have been in multiple places and none could prescribe me the right glasses. The stuff is also very friendly, helping, nice! Overall I recommend this place and I trust doctor Tran! read more

I've been going here for 10+ years and I couldn't imagine going anywhere else. Doctor Sang Tran and his staff are amazing! They're so attentive to detail and when it comes to choosing my glasses, their honesty is appreciated. Going here for so long, I'm very comfortable speaking with Dr. Tran about work, school and my personal life. There isn't that awkward silence at all. I come once a year and each time, it's like we're just catching up where we left off. He's always trying to help me get the best deals when it comes to glasses and contact lenses. I know when I come to Pacific Vision, I'm getting the best! With covid happening, the staff is taking the proper precautions to make sure everyone is safe. Glasses are cleaned after you try them on. They're only allowing 1-2 people in at a time. If you're just picking up, they'll bring it out to you. It's tough times right now for everyone so we just have to be patient. Thank you Pacific Vision for everything! You guys truly are amazing and I appreciate all your help. read more

Pacific Vision Optometry - Optometrists Near Me - Sacramento, California

This is honestly the best optometry in Sacramento. I've been going here since I was a teenager. The ladies in the front are super sweet and professional. Maggie I believe her name is? She found me some exclusive glasses well within my budget and I get so many compliments on them. Dr. Tran is soft spoken and intelligent super funny. Dr. Tran takes his time when he is looking into your eyes to make sure everything is working properly. Professional and honest atmosphere. Dr. Tran will always make sure you're taken care of. I will continue to go here no matter the distance. Thank you Pacific Vision for all that you do. read more

This doctor is irresponsible and greedy, he made glasses for me, after only one month of use, one side of the silicone nose pad was missing, I brought it to him and asked if he would fix it, he asked for $20 for a silicone nose pad, after only one month of use, and he has no responsibility for the poor quality products he sells! This is the most irresponsible form of business in the most civilized country in terms of after-sales service! This is the way he serves in his homeland and brings it to the US to shamelessly enrich himself! It is a shame for his homeland because of the shameless actions of an unscrupulous doctor.$20 dollar for one silicon nose glass pad for brand new glass after one mont use , no warranty read more

It's been a long time since I've gotten new glasses so I decided to finally buy a new pair and I went with Pacific Vision Optometry, very happy with my decision because I left this place with glasses I liked hassle free. Dr. Tran explained to me what I needed for my lenses in a professional manner. And the friendly and kind staff helped me decide what frame looked best on me which I really appreciate because I'm indecisive. Overall 10/10 experience and I'll definitely be back next year. read more

Me and my daughter first time seeing Pacific Vision and they had great services, Dr. Tran explained everything to us as he went over it.

I give this place 1 out of 5 star because I been there long time ago I have medical they do my glasses medical can't wear it it make me dizzy that why I have a better place to go read more

This place used to be really good. I've been going here for over 10 years and the last few years wasn't a great experience. The wait time is forever even with an appointment. They always over book and to schedule an appointment they are always 1-2 months out. I think they pick and choose on which insurance you have to take in the patient. Actually I know for a fact because I heard them over the phone that they can only schedule a few Medi-cal patients a day and after certain time. They're way too busy and have too many things going on at the same time at the front desk. Glasses & contact lens are overpriced. Oh and when you ask for a copy of your prescription they don't even want to give it to you. Dr. Tran is a great doctor no complaints bout him. Last time I called they didn't have any appointment until February of next year. PROs: if you want a Vietnamese doctor & Vietnamese staff to help you then this is the place for you. read more

I was referred to this office by one of my best friends. She did me a huge favor! Dr. Tran is so nice and informative. He made me feel comfortable enough to discuss anything that was related to my eyes. I had a first time consultation with Dr. Tran for contacts and glasses. There are about four girls who will assist you with checking in and answer any questions you have. They're all really nice and helpful! I came in early since I knew I would need to fill out new patient paperwork. When I saw Dr. Tran he answered with his honest opinion and I appreciated that because some optometrists won't give their true opinion. He is open to any and all questions. The assistants informed me of what benefits I have and also gave me their advice on which frames I should get. So helpful because I would have chosen the wrong frame. They'll show you your benefits on paper and won't rush you to buy anything. I will certainly be a returning customer! read more

I have been coming here for a number of years. Dr. Tran has a kind and friendly demeanor that makes you feel comfortable to talk to him. The staff members are all kind and patient as well. On my last visit I took a while to pick out frames and I tried on a dozen different pairs and never felt rushed. read more

I have been going to Pacific Vision for nearly 10 years now. My whole family goes to see Dr. Tran every year! After seeing Dr. Tran year after year, I feel like he actually knows me. He usually asks about my life such as how school is going or how work is going. The small talk is nice since I don't feel like I'm visiting a stranger. Like some other reviews had mentioned, their glasses selection are all locked up in their display cases, but the staff is friendly and unlock them upon request. Their glasses and sunglasses selection is extensive to cover all kinds of price ranges. The staff has changed over the years but they are aways very helpful. They're all bilingual or multilingual, so older adults will have no problem getting helped. I usually get stuck between two to three pairs of glasses and they will always give an honest opinion on whether or not the frames suit your face. Definitely check out Pacific Vision if you're looking for a good optometrist! read more

Almost 5 stars. My glasses-buying experience was awesome, but I can't attest to the actual optometrist or eye exam. I have been looking for glasses for months. I carried my perscription in my purse, hoping to one day stumble upon the perfect pair and order them immediately. I have fantastic vision insurance (it's VSP, but I get two pairs of glasses per year with a huge frame $ allowance), so I was determined to find a place that accepts VSP - virtually all optometrists, but virtually no straight-up eye glass shops (like Style Eyes on J & 25th or any of the mall vision stores). Optometrists having varying selections, and I visited at least 10 on my quest. It's not simply the selection size - all I need are two great pairs... you can have only 2 styles, if i happen to love both of them. Nothing was right. I stumbled on Pacific Vision on my way to get Vietnamese Sandiwches next door - it's in that Pacific Plaza on 65th Expressway and Stockton Blvd. They take VSP and are happy to look up your insurance info on their computer, they have a HUGE selection of frames of many prices. Higher end Fendi, Oakley, Vera Wang, Dior, and a bunch more fancypants brands I can't remember now - to Banana Republic, Vogue, Anne Klein, and Fossil standards. Everything is locked behind glass - the neighborhood is what it is - but the sales people were more than willing to open glass cases and leave me to try on whatever I wanted. They were busy when i went, but the customr service was still superb. The women working there were friendly, and helpful - and even gave me honest opinions when i asked for them. No high pressure sales of extra features like anti-reflective coating - just a straightforward explanation of my numerous options. I found the two perfect pairs that day - one Vera Wang and one Oakley. (Who knew Oakley made cute women's non-sun glasses? Probably you knew, but I certainly didn't) The techs said it'd be 5 business days to get them, and they were! There was a minor snafu in that they called to saw my glasses were in 4 days later, but it was actually just one pair that was in. A little annoying, but they were apologetic and it was an honest mistake. (Just meant two trips to Huong Lan for sandwiches, instead of one). They helped me fit my frames, and took great care to clean the lenses and frames before giving them to me. I know this all sounds boring, but it was a truly pleasant experience. read more

This optometrist is located on the heart of Stockton Blvd., in the S.F supermarket plaza. This office is beneficial for the Vietnamese crowd considering majority of the office assistance are fluent in Vietnamese. I've been seeing Doctor Tran for the past years now and I've never had anything to complain about. They carry a vast selection of upscale eye wear frames from Prada to Gucci to Versace! I'm always well taken care of by the office staff! I love being able to phone in my contact orders and they can take care of the order and billing right over the phone. I believe they accept most insurances - I switched insurances when I transferred jobs and they were able to help me call in to obtain my coverage information and got back to me promptly. This is a great office for eye care services! read more

I have been going to this place for years! What I love about this place is that Dr. Tran provides exceptional service and care which makes me feel like I'm not just another patient. I went in for an eye exam and contact lenses fitting, and he ensured that I try the all suitable options of contacts available for my prescription. Another notable mention goes to Cindy whom which is the most sweetest and professional optical assistant and office administrator there! I highly recommend this Pacific Vision Optometry for your optical needs! read more

Dr. Sang is the best!!!! Very kind, mindful and professional in his work. I always leave feeling relieved after my checkups!!!!! His staff are all also really sweet & helpful when it comes to picking out which frames fit my face the best. read more

i go to a different optometrist, but I've ordered prescription sunglasses here. The service is sufficient, and they aren't as pushy as some optometry offices I've been to. I was able to try on a ton of frames without feeling pressured to purchase any. After I chose my frames, I made my order and was told I'd be called when they were ready. My glasses came in really quickly, and I was called to come in. The upcoming Saturday was some sort of holiday so I asked them if they were open on this Saturday, I knew they were open typically but wanted to make sure they were going to open that specific weekend, They said yes, so I came by on Saturday and they were closed. That was a little irritating, I called on Monday and they were just like, yea we were closed on Saturday, sorry about that. Inconvenience aside, I like the selection for frames here, and would come back. read more

If this place even deserves the one star it would only be for the actual Dr. All the assistants are rude, unknowledgeable, slow and basically not willing or wanting to help. They can't solve a simple problem that any other office can do. I hadn't been to this place in nearly 20 years and now I remember why. It takes forever to get an appt and then there's the wait time. But what really got to me was that my glasses that i got from them needed a new screw and an adjustment which they claim they tried to do, but couldn't. If they couldn't fix the frame most optometry offices just put your lenses in another frame but not these idiots! Thankfully I went to a professional optometry office that was able to correct what this office claimed they couldn't. Also, don't expect to get your full prescription from them, they're so shady they won't even give you the PD measurements, yes it's not part of the Rx, but I've never had an optometry office that give me that information. As far as everyone I've been to besides this office, including my sons optometrist, they always include it. If you're looking to go here, I'd say go somewhere else. read more

GUCCI, PRADA, CHANEL, what? Yes, they have every brand! A good selection, too! Dr. Sang is my optometrist when I'm in Sacramento. He's really patient and nice. The office is never too full so there's almost never a long wait. His staff consists of a bunch of good looking Asian girls. Hmm..good for business? Smart! But then again, it's an optometry office so I'm not sure how far that would go. Anyway, they accept Medi-Cal! This was the only way I was able to afford designer frames; because a part of it was covered. Muahahahha. Dr. Sang says after I graduate from Optometry School, I can take over his business. I hope he remembers that 5 years from now when I show up on his doorstep. ;P read more

Needed to get my eyes checked for new glasses. Stopped by here randomly and decided to make an appointment. The wait was quite a long time. More than half an hour or should say, but I left very satisfied. The optometrist took his time and did several tests before letting me pick out a frame. I also love the front desk receptionists and assistants! They were very friendly and it made me enjoy being here. They said it'd take about 3-4 weeks for my glasses to be ready and surprisingly I got a call not even when a week is up! Just picked them up today and I can see Oh so clear! They also gave me a nice case with lens wipes. Other places I been to give me some cheap sliding case. Definitely recommend! read more

My Dad has been here a few times for his routine eye exams and normally, other than the horrendous long wait time (WITH AN APPOINTMENT) it's usually fine. His eyes have been red and dry with occasional discomfort so he called to make an appointment and they pulled up his file and told him to come today at 11:30am. I dropped him off at around 11:15am and it was then that they told him they don't take his insurance anymore so he will have to pay $60-120 out of pocket if he still wants to be seen right now. WTF, you wait until a patient comes to their appointment to tell them this? That's basically cornering elderly patients who may not know better to pay out of pocket. My dad said he doesn't want to be seen then and the front desk staff said "well, you're not going to find another eye doctor in Sacramento that will take your insurance." Ummmm, no you idiot; there are a ton of other optometrists that takes medicare and medical. She told him that if he has redness, dryness and discomfort he needs to see his primary care physician not an optometrist because they don't help with those types of issues. LOLLL. This is the first time I have heard an eye doctor that doesn't deal with eye issues. This place is a joke. read more

Dr. tran is so professional! And his staff are all so welcoming. I took my dad for a walk in today, as their appointments are all booked til July. Walk ins are taken care of after those with appointments or if there are any cancellations. They were really busy! There was one person ahead of us on the walk in list. Tran came out and told his staff to tell us, his walk-ins, to come back in two hours and he will see us. And so we did. Came back and waited just a little bit before tran called us. (We came at 9 when they opened, and was told at 10 to come back at 12:30.) After all the patients he had been seeing all morning, and still patients waiting to be seen, he did not rush through seeing my dad. Tran is very professional. And so are his staff, very knowledgeable in what they do. I totally recommend this place! 5 stars. read more

I'm surprise at all the high rating with this place. I've been with them since 2006 and have been putting up with it because of its location, making it more convenient to grab lunch or go grocery shopping. However, they always over schedule making the wait time extremely long. I feel like it's very unprofessional to make an appointment for someone and have them wait 30 minutes to an hour or more just to see the doctor for five minutes. I don't mind having to wait but if a practice is running late they should let their patients know ahead of time that they are running behind and ask their patients If they would like to wait or reschedule. I wish this was due to one incident but this is something that happens repeatedly from my own experience and those of my family. For those who like the location and don't mind the wait then this is a place for you. read more

Went here a few times and I swear the wait is forever! I made sure to come in a little bit early but nope it does not matter. Make sure you don't have anything to do that day of your appointment because it will take 1-2hrs. And if your frames doesn't fit well, they don't really fix it. Just a few bends here and there( when you can do it yourself). Also I came to get contacts here and I was disappointed. They didn't tell me I had special vision till after I did my paperwork that I wasn't eligible for colored contacts. Disappointed but anyways make sure you make time to stay for a few hours here. read more

Dr. Sang has been the BEST optometrist I've ever had. He's so nice and patient (especially during my first time coming here, I was surprised when he dropped some yellow thing in my eye and dilated it, so I flinched a bit :/). I'm also always happy with my frames because he has such a wide variety. the contacts exam is pretty cheap also (with my insurance I paid $70) && this was the first time I had the acuvue w/ astigmatism lens & they worked wonders. I definitely recommend him if you're looking for a new optometrist. read more

Although Dr. Tran is very professional in his practice, he is not in his punctuality. My mom had an appointment at 11am. She was not seen until 12pm. I'm sure all his patients have experienced something similar. Our time should not be wasted just because he has poor time management. read more

I've been going here for four years now, they have very many selections of glasses for different ppl , "like me ." Dr. Tran is nice and his office workers are friendly. His price is also the BEST in town. I did my due diligence comparing rates of all the optometry offices in EG to Downtown Sac. No other office can compare to his price. PLUS, he is very good at what he does! You'll be in good care. read more

Every time I have attempted to call to make an appointment. They either don't pick up or put me on a long hold!!! So don't waste your time.

Dr. Tran at Pacific Vision Optometry is my family eye doctor and we like coming here. He is really nice and answers all our questions when it comes to our eye health. They have a variety of selections to choose from in terms of glass frames so it may seem a bit over whelming but fun to look around at the same time. Most of his selection is high end though so be prepared to shell out dough for the difference your insurance doesn't cover. They accept walk-ins but I recommend making an appointment because it tends to get busy in here. read more

Been here for the last few times & the first time got a glasses here the prescription was too strong but got it fixed the second time. The doctor is nice and the range of glasses is good. However, the ladies working up front are really disrespectful and rude. I came to check in for my appointment and every single time they would be like, "What are you here for?!" They wouldn't even get up off their desk to greet the patients/customers. Service is bad, seriously don't understand how this is a 4 star rating optometry. And wait time is a while for an appointment sometimes more than 30+ mins. read more
