I had such an amazing experience here! I brought my 5-year-old son in, and he's usually very shy and gets nervous at appointments, but the staff was incredible. They were so patient, kind, and made him feel completely comfortable. They also took the time to make sure both my son and I understood everything that was going on, which I really appreciated as a mom. I ended up getting my eyes checked right after his appointment, and they were able to schedule us back-to-back, which was super convenient. The whole environment was welcoming and positive. I did end up needing glasses, and the team made the whole process easy and stress-free. My husband is actually going this Saturday, and we're excited for him to have the same great experience. Updated My Prescription! SITREP I can SEE again! I can SEE again! Yayyyyy!! THE SETUP Been getting my *optometry* on here for almost 36 years now here, and you know what? YOUR EYESIGHT CHANGES!! ("Duh, right?") Thank the GODS I can come back here every year and get my prescription updated, EXCEPT, when Covid hit I became SOMEWHAT of a hermit living in my cave. Yada Yada Yada, after three (3) years I FINALLY got my presciption updated with Dr. Jessica and it's really nice to have gotten some new specs to update my eyesight with (and suffice it to say, it was needed). OLD SPECS STILL GOOD! Now I still rock my old specs too since when they hit the sun they double as awesome sunglasses with their cool transitions. [ Like iPhones, I don't always have to run out and buy the "new thing" just because everyone else is. I like to save money where I can. Still....... NEW SPECS! ...when it's time, it's time and I don't want my vision to be an impediment to my daily life routine, like driving, like watching movies, like calling to friends (that I hopefully recognize) in the distance, etc. etc. The state of the art optometric machines that Kubo utilizes is insanely impressive! Every decade I see the new tech come online and it all has the impact of improving my eyesight. Most of this is due to Dr. Jessica who makes sure she is on top of the optometry game - Bravo! NEW TOY! So, here I am at my most current appointment and, while in between 1. exam-processing and 2. new spec selections, I noticed this "new machine" in the Kubo lobby: * It was Dr. Jessica's new OpticWash machine! * A new fangled device that washes glasses within a self-contained plastic-womb of sorts (how do you like that visual?) * The awesome front team-member Hailey put the glasses in the *womb* and it did its *whirl* *whirl* *whirl* with jets of special water blasting the glasses. I was impressed because during the appointment she asked me about my droopy eyelid--something no one has ever noticed or addressed except me. I had an appointment here to establish care as a new patient. The appointment was at 1pm. I arrived early - no one greeted me or acknowledged me and there were so many people in the lobby, some folks were standing. At ten after 1pm, with no sign the staff was getting through the back log, I asked someone at the front desk what the schedule was like, as I came on my lunch break. That individual did not come back for another 5-10 minutes and told me based on how behind they were, it was unlikely they would get to me before 1:30pm or 1:45pm. As I had already taken time off work to be timely to this appointment, I did not have time to wait an extra 30 or 45 minutes. And as a lot of people went back for their exams, then came back to the lobby and had to wait with me for 15-45 minutes, I knew this would surely be a two to three hour ordeal. It would have been one thing if they told me when I got there they were running behind and did I want to reschedule, but I received no such courtesy. Had I not asked about the backlog of patients, I'm sure I would still be there waiting. Hard pass on this. Won't be back. read more

When I first visited Kubo Optometry to browse frames, staff followed me around like I was going to steal. The optometrist admitted she wasn't sure of my measurements and had me return to "double-check." Pair #1 (6/11/24, $100): Both lenses cracked in less than 12 weeks. I unknowingly wore the wrong prescription for months, which caused migraines, dizziness, and nausea. This was poor quality of care -- I trusted their exam, but it was inaccurate. Staff dismissed my concerns by saying my vision was "aging quickly." I was only 31. Pair #2 (3/18/25, $100): Correct prescription this time, but the right lens cracked again within 4 months, showing lack of product quality and oversight. Pair #3 (July 2025): Owner Dr. Jessica Huynh agreed in writing to replace my lenses at no cost. I surrendered my frames, and weeks later they claimed my warranty was expired, refused to use my current prescription, and offered only a partial refund. As of now, they still have my frames, I have no usable glasses, and no one has responded to my request for a *full* refund. I have worn glasses for 30 years, and this was the lowest-quality care I have ever received from an optometry provider. read more

I hope someone from the clinic can find out who my doctor is. I went in yesterday and my doctor was a young Caucasian female. Didn't see if her name was on her scrubs. When I got my prescription it says Dr. Jessica Huyuh electronically signed. Dr. Huyuh is Asian so I'm 100% my doctor wasn't Jessica. Isn't it illegal for someone who didn't see me signed the prescription? Also, cuz my vision is -6.75 I need high index lenses, but man they really jack up the price. They told me my lenses would be 390 dollars including anti glare and other stuff. Yeah no, I'm not gonna pay that much. I went to Costco afterwards and got two pairs for 152 including frames and lenses. Anti blue light, anti glare, UV, etc. Even though I found it weird that Dr Jessica Huyuh signed my prescription but didn't see me. The Caucasian female doctor was also nice. read more

I had a very pleasant experience at Kubo! I was nervous to try a new optometrist and get an eye exam ( it had been almost 4 yrs!) However this IS the PLACE! From walking in to a cheerful hello, to selecting and purchasing my new frames and lenses, it was smooth and I was well taken care of. I need to mention that the staff is incredible! First, the Eye Doctor as awesome: She was so thorough and answered every question I had ( as I do) and additionally explained a new type of lens for my eyes. I cannot thank her enough for assuring me and her suggestions. She completely blew me away with how thorough and thoughtful my exam was...and she spent more than enough time with me, thank you! When it came time to selecting a new frame, I was wowed at how many frames they offered: in the large suite across from the office is a plethora of selections, including luxury brands! I was lucky to have Pedro assist me in my selection AND how incredibly knowledgeable he was. I was blown away at how awesome he was and how carefully he measured everything to ensure proper fit all around. I decided on a pair of blush colored cat eye frames, and they are fitting nicely. Mixed Feelings on Visit/ Lots of Room for Improvement .... I was excited to try a new eye place since my insurance changed and I liked the overall reviews, esthetic, and what looked like a good selection of designer frames. Customer Service Needs A Lot of Work! Walked in and stood at the window while at least 4 gals behind the counter bustled around. After quite sometime of not being greeted someone finally looked up and asked what I needed. I said I was checking in and they said just sign in. I had to ask for a pen and then was just left standing there. They never checked my ID, followed up on my online forms which were incomplete, or let me know they were running 30 minutes behind. So I found my way to a separate room and browsed around. Once called the appointment itself was not fluid. They'll start one thing and then have you wait again before doing the eye exam. The pre screening tests are done in a storage unit and the frame room glasses looked like they hadn't been wiped down after everyone had been trying them on all week. Dr was nice. Never received my updated Rx (I'm sure that's easy enough to obtain) The people who help with ordering the lenses after you're on your own to pick a frame need to be trained on Insurance and the benefits to upgraded lenses. I had to ask for scratch resistant and anti glare. I also wanted a thinner lens bc of a high rx and honestly I'll be surprised if that request made the order. One gal had big attitude bc she didn't know answers to questions being asked and then kept repeating 20% off after the insurance when price was discussed. The frame I liked didn't have a price and even if it did.... get a calculator out and give me a number! Very frustrating having to basically facilitate your own frame and lens fitting. I'm not confident my order will be correct bc of all of the confusion displayed by untrained staff. Large frame selection but not a lot of variety in terms of color or styles. This is not the place if you want personalized, professional service and someone to take one on one time with you to answer questions and help you sort through choices to make informed decisions. read more
