We had a spectacular experience here today. Everyone was nice. We got in and out quickly. The optician was friendly and professional. She showed us all of our options but didn't push anything. The optometrist was very nice. It was such a great experience compared to where we used to go. Thank you so much! I completely understand all of the great reviews. read more

So, it's time to get new glasses and prescription but, after 8 yrs of business with them, I was surprised. Basically, I called to cancel an appointment, they said I didn't. They actually attached a $25 dollar flag on my account! I spent $2,300 dollars and they charged me that $25 ! Not one person would listen to me! i have the very call log on my phone! These guys are chippy and insert fees on their own. That dope who measured for our glasses just stared at me when I told him the situation. I do not recommend this place , too many cheaper alternatives. read more

Walked into the establishment and asked if I could just look at the frames, and was told that without an appointment I could not. I clarified that I'm simply looking, and not doing a consult today and was told that I couldn't do that at all, without an appointment. Apparently business must be really good. read more

Checking to see how "blind" I am. Lol. Seriously, this place was recommended to me years ago. Now my fiance and I come here. I do recommend this place. Staff and service are great. If you're looking for an awesome place for your next pair of glasses or contacts or both. Come here. read more

They billed my insurance for both a glasses & contact exams LESS than a year ago. So prescription is VALID. However, still within my year of a valid contact prescription I place an online order that they refuse to accept and push through because I supposedly never came in for a made up "follow up exam". Basically they will steal money from your insurance and try to manipulate it to try and get you to come back and pay out of pocket. Ian (receptionist) was the only empathic and friendly one there.. hope he finds a better place to be great at read more

I came here for a repair on my glasses. My right lenses just fell out after wiping it. Found out that the screws were loose and needed some tightening. The lady who helped me was super friendly and oh so sweet. Not only did she fix them, she added new nose pads and the glasses looked brand spanking new! I'm not a customer here since I'm visiting from Utah, but I highly recommend coming here if you need any help with your current prescriptions or repair read more

I discovered Crystal View Optometry while searching for a new Optometrist in the Elk Grove area. I was assisted by optician, Sasha who was very knowledgeable in educating me on the proper way to wear eyeglasses. Sasha was extremely patient and helpful in showing me the variety of styles and brands available .After carefully selecting my glasses, I was able to pick them up within the timeframe given. I am totally satisfied with my new eyeglasses. The overall experience with Crystal View Staff was easy and pleasant. I will definitely be returning for my next pair. Robin H. read more

I came here for the second time to get an eye exam and new prescription glasses, the front desk girlies are very helpful and knowledgeable and the doctor is very patient and friendly. It's a plus that they're open Saturdays. I travel from 30 minutes away just to know my eyesight is in good hands. I wouldn't wanna go to any other place! read more

I love coming here and the prices are pretty affordable. I do not have vision insurance and so I pay out of pocket. All the doctors are very sweet ,kind, and answer all your questions. I love that they're open on Saturdays as well and have late hour options during the week. This is super helpful for people who work a 9-5. The staff is very professional and always call you back asap when you leave a message. I definitely feel like I'm taken care of at this location. read more

I've been coming to Crystal View for a few years now. The staff is always very helpful in working with you on different options such as ordering frames that are not available in store. I never feel like my visit is rushed which I appreciate. read more

Located conveniently in an area close to restaurants, grocery stores and pet food store. Feels like home whenever we visit for our routine eye examination. ALL the staff are friendly and organized. Highly recommended. read more

This place is very disappointing. Never had so much trouble and negative experience with the staff. Went back and forth because they were not able to help me with my insurance. People was rude, even spoke to the owner Crystal and she did not care about my complaint. I will not recommend this place if you want an easy and pleasant experience. read more

Unorganized office! I called yesterday to confirm my benefits were still good to go as I changed employers recently. Lady on the phone confirmed we were good for our 2 appointments today. I get to the office today and my benefits were not good to go. Feels like a bait and switch because I came here with my 2 kids and was offered to pay cash instead of via benefits. Was not given the option to be billed in arrears since my new insurance is pending being backdated. They could have easily verified this the day prior instead of us wasting a trip here. Children's play area is also filthy, candy on floor and everything is covered in sticky residue. The man that helped me today was polite other than that this place is not recommended. Please do better. read more

Love this place, Dr Halcomb is amazing. Met Dr Vetrone on my recent appointment, she was just as great. Staff is always so welcoming and helpful. I haven't left thus practice since my last Dr's office. They have great office hours too! read more

Unfortunately, I have to update the review that customer service is seriously lacking here. I think the doctor is the only thing good here. So the staff missed the coordination of benefits that can combine both my husband and my eye coverage for our daughter's exam back summer of last year. I recall thinking why am I being charged $10, I think the copay should have been taken care of between both of our VSP benefits. But they insisted so I paid. Turns out they were wrong and now almost 1.5 years later they let me know (only when I called) that they caught the mistake and had the $10 in my daughter's account to credit towards this year's services/fees. I thought that was plenty presumptuous on their part to 1) not call and let me know they had made a mistake and tell me there's a credit waiting for me and 2) assume that I will be returning and using that $10 credit instead of asking for a refund. So in my conversation with Lani (if I recall her name correctly) today, I asked for a refund. I should've asked why they assumed so much and did not reach out to let me know they made a mistake and to offer to refund onto my credit card back when they caught the error. Instead, it was only when I called today that they brought it up. I almost had to file a claim (and probably get denied by VSP since it's past the 1-year time limitation) with VSP. Yes, given it was just $10, but it was the matter of principle. I will not be giving this place my business anymore when they're not transparent and keep assuming things such as that existing customers will continue to return. We will if we can trust you and receive good customer service. The tone of voice of the customer service rep/front desk receptionist (Lani) was slightly condescending and sounded a bit exasperated. Perhaps I should be the one to feel exasperated by a service-oriented eye care provider's office that would do something borderline unethical (keeping money that was supposed to be refunded to me and not letting me it's even there) just to keep their customer. Well, this certainly does not sit well with me and they've not only lost my whole family as customers, but lost our trust and gained this review. read more

My visit to Crystal View was excellent from the reception desk to my exam to the optometric service. Great professionals with personality and a sense of humor - highly recommend! The only downside is their office is hard to find on your first visit. read more

very unhappy. I've been wearing glasses for many years. when ever i bought glasses I would sit down for measurements When I got my glasses here they called me to come and get them. When i got there they just gave me my glasses and that was it. I couldnt believe they weren't even gonna have me put them on so THEY could make adjustments. So now as a result i have sores on my nose and behind my ears since they don't fit correctly. i onLu live 1 mile from them and will NEVER go back. This is what you calll cattle herding. read more

Called to make an appointment. Front dest was nice. I asked if I could get both a glasses and contact prescription - she said yes, but there is still the contact prescription fitting fee of approx $80. I told her I've been getting contact for 15 years and don't remember paying extra fee and that I would double check and call back. She said fine. I called the next place - looks like this fee is covered by insurance. I'm disappointed she didn't care to mention/look into it. read more

I'm amending my previous review. The people there are great but I was very disappointed in their service. It's taking over a month for my glasses. They never called me to let me know there was a problem. I requested a refund but they were going to charge me almost $200 to cancel. So here I am still waiting with no idea when they'll come in. Very disappointed! read more

One star is only for the optometrist. She was great. That's it. The front desk staff has this snarky tone. I just wanted a contact lens prescription which they wouldn't give me without a contact lens lesson. So I schedule one and there is no mention of a fee. I get there day of my appointment and they are trying to charge me $94 for the lesson. Ridiculous. This place is money hungry and the front desk staff needs a lesson on customer service. I will never return here !!! read more

They have a pretty good selection not a lot on the namebrand selection. However, that is very insignificant when it comes down to the service that you get overall the experience is amazing they are so accommodating and go the extra mile to make sure that you're eyes are in good shape. I unfortunately had a rare cases where I have holes in my right eye.. I went to another place here in elk Grove and they totally overlooked it. Where as this optometrist here she went the extra step to outsource to Kaiser and lo and behold. It is something serious that actually had to stay out of work for almost a month to figure out the cause of this, so if it wasn't for the optometrist here, I probably would be going blind or something serious. Thanks!!!!! read more

I have been a patient here for a few years now and everyone has been nice and helpful. I want to call out Angela and Ian for their attention to detail. It was the best and most-thorough exam I've had with an optometrist. She is absolutely awesome! She was detailed and explained every procedure, and made me feel comfortable throughout the process. read more

I'd give 10 stars if I could. The whole experience and process was very smooth and efficient. I'm big on customer service and demeanor and all 3 people I encountered during my visit were all great. I didn't have to wait long to be greeted or acknowledged. Didn't have to wait long to see the Dr. All questions I had were answered thoroughly and I never felt rushed or like they were "salespeople" (the worst). Anyway, I'm thinking about switching my daughter and bringing her to Crystal View Optometry. I totally recommend this place based on my experience. Oh, and the Doctor's credentials hanging on the wall in the exam room were impressive. read more

I've been coming here for years and the service just gets better with each visit. I have high astigmatism and my eyes are super picky with what contacts they'd like on them. The staff is also attentive and friendly, the place is clean, and they are VERY PROMPT and on top of it. read more

New insurance, had to find new optometrist so of course I checked out Yelp. The reviews are no lie. I was able to make an appointment for the next day. And the staff was very friendly (not the fake over the top friendly) and made us feel welcome. My husband and I began to look at some frames and Angela sat down with us to go over all options and costs. She offered us a lot of good suggestions and was patient with us while we reviewed our options. And Dr. McKnight was great as well. She is very nice and laid back. She is quick but thorough and we never felt rushed. I definitely recommend! read more

I don't come here for my routine yearly eye exam check up, but I did come here to get my glasses fixed. I had an emergency situation where the original glasses I had broke and I needed to use my spare. I have not used my spare in awhile, so I needed to get it fitted again. The original place I go to was not open that day and it was getting late. This place was open and so I came here to see if they could help. As I walked in, the receptionist lady was so kind to hear my concern and told me to have a seat and someone would help me shortly. Someone came to me and asked me what was wrong and after hearing what I needed, she did not hesitate and helped me fix my glasses. She offered to give me a paper that has a place to possibly help me try and get my glasses fixed. Overall, this place without me being here for my exams and getting glasses, was a good experience overall. read more

I first noticed this place when they were across the street and got referred from the great service they gave me farther. The place is kept very nice and clean and very tastefully decorated. The dr was nice and answered any questions that I had. The superstar here was the lady that helped me with my glasses and went through everything with the prices and such. Angela. I went to Stanton optical first to get a non-prescription pair of eyeglasses. I just wanted basic computer glasses that transitioned. They didn't do their "free eye exam". They took like 2 hours to order the glasses and said "we will call you". Ha. Needless to say I returned their "glasses" and came here. My coworker referred me here and I was astonished how helpful and amazing the staff were. Diana has an amazing team and I don't think I will ever go anywhere else again. They were an thorough and insightful. Each employee that helped me was super friendly and knowledgeable. It was my first eye exam since I think I was in elementary school. So I was a little nervous and very new to the whole thing. They made it so comforting and welcoming. They helped me find a frame that fit my face and looked good. Also went over all my possible lens options. As well as finance options too. I will gladly come back and tell everyone about this place. Thank you Diana!!! read more

Located in the Safeway plaza to the left of CVS. Great optometrist. Came in for the first time for an eye exam and to refill up on my contacts. The staff and doctor were very professional compared to other optometrists I've been to. Didn't have a single problem; overall great first-time experience. Will be back for my future exam appointments! :) read more

Dr. Holcomb sees all patients and works with lots of insurances. After devoid of visiting an optometrist for 25+ years, it was time. She put me through every exam possible, and I'm actually kind of excited to be getting glasses again... last time was middle school. Friendly and professional staff. Highly recommended. read more

Terrible service. Never got my prescription right despite paying again and again to have it redone. Broke my frame. Will never go back

My wife and I walked past this business yesterday, and both of us needing new eyeglasses, we walked in to view their style selection. The receptionist stopped us and explained we needed an appointment with their optometrist before we were allowed to view the hundreds of frames displayed on the walls. WTF!!?? Most people want to see if there are any styles they might be interested in first, before doing further business. Obviously, we are not the money-foolish customers that fit their business model. They will likely respond to this review with an excuse about COVID, but if that was an issue then all the eyeglass shops in town would close down. There are too many great alternatives than to shop here. read more

Working on the computer 8+ hrs per day inevitably brought me here. Fast, friendly and efficient service! Check in, eye exam and picking out my new glasses were all completed within one hour. If I could give zero stars, I would. This optometrist is a joke. I am in my mid twenties and went in with my old frames, which were progressive bifocals. When they checked the frames to get my old prescription, they didn't notice the bifocals. I had to tell them they were there. During the exam I was told I was "too young" to need bifocals and that they would not provide me a prescription for them. That should've been my red flag to leave, but I didn't. I was given a weaker prescription than the one I came in with, and when I asked why it was weaker, she SHRUGGED and didn't elaborate at all. Was told I had to get my frames from them and told I wouldn't be given my prescription on a paper to go to Costco or online. I ordered frames from them, and when the glasses finally came in and I picked them up, I commented that my vision was blurry and that I wasn't happy with this prescription. I was told to "get used to them." Reminder, this was a weaker prescription. It's been a few months and my vision is still blurry even with these glasses. I can't see the face of someone twenty feet away from me in the grocery store. I will never go back to this eye doctor and have told everyone I know not to give this place any business. read more

Dr. Holcomb is wonderful, kind, warm & welcoming. She is thorough with the exam and goes into detail why you may or may not have perfect vision. She also refitted me for my contacts, as I was due for a new rx. The staff is friendly and also very welcoming. Mila took extra time and care to help me find the perfect frames as I am extremely picky with mine. Having been in Kaiser for the past 8 years, I was hesitant in finding an optometrist to fit my needs. Frame selection is kind of limited from what is seen on display but don't take my word on it, since I browse very quickly and I tend to miss things. Also the staff was able to pull up my insurance over the phone when I was booking the appointment and I didn't have my insurance card on hand. Their office is quite spacious, very clean, and wait time is never that long. I would highly recommend this place and Dr. Holcomb. read more
