As a disclaimer, I am someone who only gets nails done once or twice a year. This is a clean, simple place that does a nice job. It is now called "Peach Nails." Making an appointment was easy, and I was seen as soon as I walked in. My one complaint is that the chemical smell is strong; I wish they could improve the ventilation somehow. Well, this place is clean but that's about all I can say on the positive side. During both my manicure and my pedicure, they cut my skin and made me bleed- and didn't acknowledge or apologize. Actually told me it was because I had sensitive skin when I complained. In all my years, it has yet to be an issue anywhere else! I have been looking for a nail shop that is clean, uses proper cleaning and sterilization techniques for nail and feet fungus, and a place where the people are nice and make you feel welcome, well I finally found the place, and it's Pacific Nails on Speedway and N. Tucson Blvd. The owners, Ken and Lilly are the nicest people who love to laugh and have fun, it was a breath of fresh air coming to them. It's a family business and everyone is so nice and you can tell they really appreciate all of their customers and do the best job they can, even after being in the business for over 20 years, Lilly makes sure that you are happy with their services. Now in addition to wanting a clean, nice place, of course I also have been looking for a spot that does nails really good and listens to me and what I want, and again Pacific Nails met and surpassed my expectations. My nails look natural, beautiful and petite as my nails should be and are naturally, but sometimes you go places and my nails end up all fat looking .. well not here, no way .. I can't tell you how satisfied I am!! This wonderful nail shop will be my go to place as long as I'm in Tucson. Their prices are very reasonable and I was in and out of there, but didn't feel rushed at all. Overpriced, unprofessional, not clean and unskillful. I wish that there was a 0 star option. The quality of work is very disappointing. I scheduled an appointment, and right as I walked in I got a bad feeling. The environment was dirty and nothing was set up. The table I went to was not clean. When getting my nails shaped, the girl made me feel like I was an inconvenience by rolling her eyes. The girl that did my nails kept tossing her tools around the table and she was rushing the entire time. Burning my fingers a few times when sanding them I was very upset towards the end of my appointment. I am definitely going to another nail salon do have someone perform higher quality work. I really loved this place at first when I had Lily do my nails. However, her husband insisted he do my nails this time I came in since she was busy. I said I'd rather wait, but he insisted again so I gave it a shot. He did a horrible job. I got gel polish and he said to leave my hands in the light for five mins.. I knew that was wrong since I've been getting gel for years. I waited about three mins then called lily over and she said 5 mins was much too long, as I expected. She put the acetone on my nails and then started yelling at her husband for doing such a bad job. The gel looked like it melted off my nails and was on my fingers. Also the shape of my nails were uneven and the acrylic was just done awful. (Plus he makes your fingers bleed) If you go here, do not let the man do your nails! Lily does an amazing job, she shouldn't have her husband giving the place a bad rep! Okay I just went back to pacific nails to see if they would at least fix the paint job. The picture says it all! This was suppose to be a French TIP! I'm not one for confrontation so I just left and cried as soon as I got into my car! I'm a single mother who has been saving for a few months to get my nails done and it's been more of a nightmare than anything else! After talking to family and friends I've decided I'm going to go back and ask for a refund, problem is they are closed on Monday so I'm stuck with these horrible "French tip" nails until Tuesday! I even showed him a picture of what I wanted them to look like and the end result is FAR from it! I just can't believe he thought this was ok! Fingers crossed I get a refund because I do not want them to attempt to "fix it" when they didn't even use new nail files! I cringed when he started using already used nail files on my hands, and he cut my cuticle and fingers! Let's hope I don't get MRSA! Stay far far away from this place! This place falls just in between 2/3 stars. I have gone to check them out since they are my new neighborhood salon. The first time I was in a hurry and while I didn't mention that I was out very quickly with a gel manicure that lasted just about a month and in good condition besides the grow out. While the manicure itself was almost nonexistent, I was impressed with the speed and longevity of the nail color. I did go in later in the afternoon and while my nail tech was friendly maybe this explained the speed? Since then I have returned another time with more time to spare and hoping that the earlier hour would allow for a more leisure experience. Nope. I was rushed through a pedi & gel mani just as quickly as before with minimal scrub/cleanse/massage etc. This time my skin had a little more tint due to the nail color but that obviously washes off eventually. So if you're in a rush or just need a no frills service this place is just fine and I would definitely consider it for that. If you are looking for a more pampered experience then it's a no-go. read more

Great prices but I was dissatisfied with my pedicure started by the middle aged guy. He ?(accidentally) had cut my toe nail way too short, below the nail curve. Once I had pointed that out to him, he apologized and one of the ladies took over and finished my pedicure (I wish I had started with her from the beginning!) The rest of the pedicure was nicely done, but because my toe nail was already cut way too short and there was no turning back, I was still left disappointed. I just got my nails done here by the middle aged gentleman and it was a terrible experience. He tried to listen to what I was saying but was in a major rush . I did just call and the manager offered to redo them. I'll be going back tomorrow. 1. Instead of wrapping my nails in foil, he put all of my fingers in acetone -- way too abrasive for skin. 2. 2 of my nails are crooked after his filing. 3. I had to ask him to do my cuticles because he didn't do them. Then left little pieces hanging off. 4. He wanted me to put my nails in UV gel machine with polish on my skin. I had to ask him to remove it so that I would have polish on my fingers for the next 3 weeks. 5. Then he stopped putting the polish on the edge of my nails completely. So some of my nails don't have polish on the edges... 6. Some of nails are physically and visibly bumpy. Overall disappointment. I'm hoping the person who fixes them tomorrow does a better job. read more

I'm from California and I've been going here all 4 years of being at UA. I've had acrylics, gel, full mani/pedi, etc. His acrylics rarely lifted. Many other places I've gone to, the acrylics lift after only 2 weeks. I need them to not lift for as long as possible because I only get them filled once a month. His gel manicures are good as well. They usually don't get the rough back edge as they grow out. The price is decent here as well. read more

However with in a couple days the gel either chips off, & my nails break and the acrylic nail lifts from my regular nail. Cheaper is not always better, they always do them in a rush, I always see they forget to do a base coat when applying gel. I was impressed with this nail salon. My sister and I had tried a couple other locations where the nail polish almost immediately chipped off or they created more hang nails then ever imaginable. So this was a breath of fresh air! I got a regular gel OPI manicure (I don't normally get gel but the lady assured me it would make my nail polish last longer) and I got an outlandish mustard yellow color that I'm now obsessed with. I saw the staff immediately put clippers and other materials in a sanitizer area after use and felt they maintained a certain level of cleanliness. I've only had one bad experience coming here when I just received a gel nail polish instead of a manicure, big mistake.
