I have been going to this location since October. I have them do my fingernails with acrylic overlay and then gel. As well as a pedicure with gel. My nails are strong and I have yet to break a nail while going to them. Phil and his team take the time to make sure that all the details are correct & I love that. The location is pretty quiet but the employees are so friendly that they even know things about me (they asked today about a wedding I was ordaining last week). Lastly, today as my nail color was being put on, they got this package of these new colors. A part of me wanted to change the color but I also didn't have enough time. Horrible. First time getting full set and pedicure. The man was so nice, but he sucked. I wanted my nails to be narrowed and squared; they came out looking very wide and messy. My pedicure was a different color (asked for the same gel color #120) the color was uneven and lighter on one side. I called to get it fixed and he said to go now or not to go at all. Skeptical of finding a decent place in Tucson, I stumbled on this establishment. The prices are amazing!! My daughter and I ended up with a beautiful mani/pedi. One thing I really enjoyed was the shiny top coat. I was told it is shipped special from Overseas. After a week my gel nails are still the shiniest I have ever had. There are many add ons, including extra massage minutes. However the massages were more of a soft stroke, not something to waste extra money on. I wish I could give a higher review, however I drop a star on the tools. They each had their own basket of tools and I have no way of knowing if they are clean and sanitized or not. I have gone to la nails twice. I got a gel manicure the first time and a full set of French tip acrylics the second time. I will never get my nails done by them anymore. I had set an appointment ahead of time and when I got there they had no one ready for me. I waited 15-20 after my appointment time. While getting my nails done, Sonny was very rude to begin with. He didn't prep/cut my cuticles. He was very rough with my nails and actually cut into my skin. (I did say something to him, but he ignored me and started ranting to his coworkers in another language) He finished with 45 minutes to an hour. I left very disappointed. I did not like my experience at LA nails. I brought my sister and niece here for a girls' day out since we were at the mall and this was close by. I wish I had taken us to my usual place or drove further to another salon. We were greeted by very friendly people at first but then they grew agitated when we took our time deciding our polish colors and nail services. From there, it went down hill. My pedicure was rushed and I felt more pressure than at other salons to upgrade or get an additional service. My toenails were lazily trimmed and when I asked if they could be re-trimmed, the nail tech made no effort in hiding her annoyance and actually trimmed and refiled them to the point where they hurt. I'm thankful that my sister and nieces nails turned out fine in the end, but they also commented on how the workers were rude and seemed to be in a rush to get us of out there. Unless they change their environment to be more friendly and treat customers like less of a bother, I won't be returning and would not recommend others to visit. read more

Nancy was amazing! I am always disappointed after getting my nails done no matter the place. Shops just don't seem to care to do a good job especially when I ask for simple gel manicures. I've been a regular for quite some time. It's a mom and pop place. They really know your name after once or twice of coming in. Cindy is the best at acrylics. She is the fastest and she is the most efficient. I can tell she is a perfectionist. Tony likes conversation so if you're one of those people that like to talk, he is one to listen while doing your nails. I don't have fake nails anymore. I use to really like this place. However, last night I went in to get a full set, which I had an appointment for scheduled at 6pm. I arrived at 5:30 pm, as I know they close at 7pm and I wanted to be time courteous in their favor. My full set was rushed and as a result I was cut in several places; my nails were not the shape I asked for, and my designs weren't centered. I personally felt rushed by the owners, as if it was my fault their nail tech. was slow. Again, I arrived at 5:30pm (30 mins before my scheduled agreed upon appointment) and didn't leave until 7:15pm. When I paid for my service they joked about it being extra because of "overtime." You can't blame a client for the slowness of your nail tech; and your nail tech should not be rushing. I will not be passive-aggressively bullied. I tip well, I'm well mannered, I address all the employees by their names, give me the respect I give you. I'm highly disappointed and hurt. I will not be coming back. read more

My mom was in town visiting and wanted to spend a nice relaxing day with me and was excited to treat me to a pedicure with her. I had heard (from 1 person) that this place was okay (no reviews on Yelp..yet). So since we were coming from the mall when my mom had this idea, I stopped in. The prices are average to high, though a bit nickel and dime-y where you have to pay $5 for extra services that normally come free with a $30 pedicure. The pedicure was average, the massage chairs worked & looked pretty new, and they spent a good amount of time on the foot massage. So everything was peachy ...nothing amazing, nothing horrible yet. The ladies seemed nice, not overly friendly, but there to do this job. We were content and a bit more relaxed when our pedicures were done. But then.... So we went over to the place by the entrance to dry our nails. My mom was seated next to the nail polish wall & one of the manicurists came over to put back some nail polishes. Unfortunately, she let one slip and it came crashing down onto the ground shattering and splattering nail polish everywhere - including onto my mom. Now this is where their stars went down from 3 to 1. They started wiping up the ground first and then, when I mentioned it, looked at my mom to see if there was paint on her. The manicurist dabbed her with nail polish remover kind of nonchalantly. The first go around there was still nail polish on her arm and splatters on her clothes. When I told them about this (again) they tried dabbing it off her clothes a little and then gave her a cotton ball to continue on her own. There was no "sorry" or anything! The only male in the store (I guess the manager since he did the most talking there), after helping with the floor cleanup a bit, went back to helping his customer with her acrylic nails - not even looking at my mom! I was a little ticked, but didn't want to make this MORE stressful for my mom - so I told him that there was paint all over my mom's clothes (basically they were ruined)...instead of a sorry he chuckled and said "so what do you want me to do? give you a discount or something?" and chuckled some more. We had already paid, I didn't see anyone getting up to change anything or offer any apologies. So very unprofessional...our stress level was higher than when we came in! I will not return. If you do decide to go - just make sure not to sit by the nail polish wall and don't expect good customer service. ** Tony, the owner, messaged me here on Yelp and apologized for how things went that day. He says he has taken proper measures to ensure the nail polish incident doesn't happen again and offered me & my mom a future discount. I have been going to LA Nails for seven years. First this is an ultra clean professional business with owners Cindy and Tony always providing an excellent service for a reasonable price. The women who work there are skilled and make every effort to provide a very pleasant experience. I am sure that an unfortunate experience can happen anyplace. This is called an accident and I can only believe a protocol was established for something that has never happened before and will most probably never happen again. (This in reference to the negative review below). I can tell you that I and other family members visit monthly and we have never experienced anything other than professional and excellent service. We have our favorites (staff) for services but each staff member strives to please and have many regulars that request them. I have always had manicures and pedicures. i have been going to LA nails for atleast a year and for the most part been happy with my experience. I am not the kind of person to complain. I have dealt with a few of the manicurist to be rude on occasion but hey, who doesnt have a bad day sometimes. I have had my cuticles burned off by the buffer and never said a word because like i said....im not the kind to complain and for the most part have been happy with the work. Until today.... 2 days ago i went and had a manicure done and i requested the gel/shellac polish....the manicurist painted the base coat and the first polish coat and i put my hands under the light...after the 3 minutes was up the paint had wrinkled on both of my thumbs and my middle fingers...odd. She seemed surprised and removed the polish on those fingers. She repainted them and then the same thing happened again, she said that i kept moving my fingers under the light and that i need to hold still. Ummm i was holding still. She proceeded to leave the polish wrinkled, applied the 2nd coat, the top coat and told me they looked beautiful. When i pointed out the wrinkles on my thunbs again she said it was my fault and that it looked fine. It had been almost 2 hours and all i wanted to was go home so i settled. I paid $30 and went on my way. Today...2 days later, the polish peeled right off of both my thumbs. Silly me thinking i will just go back to see Tony and he will have no issue with fixing it. I walk in, told him what happened and if i could have it fixed, his response: a roll of his eyes and then he went back to working on his client. I stood there for about 30 mmore seconds to see if maybe his wife would approach me...she said to come back in 30 minutes. If i was to return in 30 minutes they would have been closed. I am saddened by this because i felt i was a good customer, i always tipped 20% or more, i referred business to him and was a continous customer. Just goes to show that my business is not needed or appreciated. Time to go find a new salon :-( read more

Everything was great here up to a point. Friendly staff, great pedicure however there were a couple of things. The volume was on on the tv which made it difficult to relax and read. Used to be my favorite nail place. Today I went in for a mini pedi, just cuticles . File and polish. The tech was a man with a very bad attitude when I asked to get my feet soaked he got upset, then turned the water on and when I told him that it was burning hot he replied with an attitude "YOU SHOULD TELL ME" when I was telling him. I asked the owner if there was someone with a better attitude that could help me and he told the tech to tell me to leave. He was not going to deal with THAT. I decided to get my nails done while visiting the area. My manicurist was very nice but she did an awful job! I got a French shellac and after ruining the shape of my nails she did such a terrible job with the gel I couldn't believe it. The white line is blurry, the gel looks stretched because she didn't allow the gel to set long enough between coats, and she left gunk under my nails at the end. She did a lousy job trimming my cuticles and her overall attention to detail (very detail oriented job!!) was astounding. I would strongly recommend avoiding this place. The girl I saw for a manicure with shellac was very nice and kept asking if I was okay because my broken cuticles looked painful. She did a good job with the manicure but she painted the shellac onto the side of my cuticles so after 2 days it started to peel up and it was all off by a week after.
