Super friendly and I was talking with her on how I do my own builder gel for almost two years and she was giving me tips and pointers the whole time explaining how to avoid some issues I had with my nails. I decided to do a whole new set since I had some lifting/bubbles and I'm on an extended trip without my nail kit. My nails came out amazing!!! She is super OCD and will have your set looking amazing. "Trust your nail tech!" I'm new to having my nails done - had them dipped a few weeks ago at another salon that was kind, busy, and had the news on television (not relaxing!). I found Tucson Nail Team via a Reddit post and made an appointment (yay for online appointments!) with Liam. I didn't really know what I wanted - I've always had short, natural nails and the dipped nails felt like I had seashells glued on my fingers. Liam took care of me perfectly, removing the dip gently and carefully (I have thin, sensitive nails) and applying builder in a bottle. He filed them super short like I wanted and did a great job with my cuticles. I liked the look of them with just the clear nails (thin! flexible!) and almost didn't get any polish, but he said "trust your nail tech" and pointed out a perfect neutral shade that took my nails to the next level. I moved and was looking for a nail salon. I went to a few before I found this one and they have just been wonderful. I told them I wanted no acrylic used instead of doing anything. The owner suggested just use your own nails and will do gel nails. That is great because my original plan was to go back to using my own nails and not acrylics at all. read more

By far the best nail salon I have ever been too. My Gel x sets never crack or break. I've never had a problem with them. Their appointments are done by online scheduling where it requires a deposit but because of this they are always extremely punctual with their service. Inexperienced nail tech. The amount of time it took the nail tech to remove the old set, find nails for a new set, an hour and half passed by. In town visiting and got EXCELLENT service and great manicures here! I have horrible nail beds and paper thin nails, but the technician did what god forgot and crafted a perfect base and shape for me! I'm looking forward to being able to grow my nails out a little with this manicure and so appreciate a strong foundation to build on. If you're in town this place is excellent - saw another client get really cool acrylics, and my friend also experienced great attention to detail. Do not let the outside older mall type building give you the wrong impression. Walk in the door and you will find the nail salon to be clean, bright, and modern. We entered the business and were immediately greeted and taken to pedicure chairs. The service for both our pedis and my mani was exceptional. I am not sure I have even had a more thorough nail tech. Meticulous is the word that best describes their service. While this was our first visit to Tucson Nail Team, it will not be our last. Do not hesitate to give them a chance. I came here on a whim because my LA aesthetician recommended Gel X to me and after I moved here I couldn't find a place for me that uses good products and is clean. Is it perfect? No. But the team has been super nice to me, they take appointments and stick to the time scheduled or call if running late to tell you. The missing star is because they use the drill to remove but almost everyone here does and those that don't, do not do Gel X and have products I don't like. I chose Gel X knowing the quality is there so other gel on top never touches my nails. Crystal is super nice but I've also used Liam when she was away and both do a good job. My nails last 4+ weeks. It's not crowded - they take walk-ins but not at the expense of appointments and will tell you when they can take you if they can. And they have hours that work with my work schedule. read more

I saw the previous review while going to book, and felt I needed to share my experience at The Tucson Nail Team. I really feel that the op's review is a one off. I have actually followed Johnathon and Kent (father) from one salon to their own (Tucson Nail Team). The first time I was at their new location I was scheduled with johnathons mother. She was the sweetest thing! She brought me water, made sure my pedi water temp was perfect, and did an amazing job! Her massage skills were very soft and relaxing. Johnathon has done my nails once. With a ten month old,I just can't keep up with long nails. However, he did exactly what I wanted. His work is beautiful. Most importantly he was so kind and respectful. Kent is normally who I go to, I've been going to him for the longest time. You can honestly tell by the look on his face he takes a lot of pride in his work and is always looking to make sure you're satisfied with his work. As a whole, they are family. The parents do not speak English fluently. What I think is different here is a lot of times Johnathon will translate and it's normally funny, innocent banter such as how his mom normally falls asleep when his dad is doing her nails so he yells to wake her up. The salon employees and aesthetics are just real. Yes the salon is calm and relaxing, but it's not some snooty place or one where they ignore you only to talk amongst themselves. As for the booking, I love that it's online. I don't need to call anyone to schedule. Schedules are pretty open. All and all I love this place and I would recommend anyone check it out! read more

I went in to get a gel x manicure and i am super pleased :) crystal (not sure how to spell) did my nails and she's super nice. she kept asking me if anything hurt and made sure that i liked her work and also let me know that something costed extra before she did it. it was super clean as well. they take card but they prefer cash ! and if you break a nail or mess it up within a week you can come back and get it done for free. will be coming back read more

I used to get my nails done all the time. But lately it's been few and far between. When I do go it is a treat for myself. I look forward to it. It is supposed to be relaxing and make me feel good about myself. But when I left this salon I was bawling my eyes out. Liam, My nail tech was just straight up MEAN. My request to change nail colors was met with anger, and an aggressive "I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THIS!" He scrubbed my nails off, aggressively tossing my hands around like I was some rag doll. I was already crying by this point, I could not hold my tears back as hard as I tried. Being yelled at by a man as he holds on to your body is not only triggering for me, but many women. I wiped away my tears as best as I could with my shoulder and just tried looking down or away as he held on aggressively to my hands. He clearly knew I was upset and it only seemed to make him more annoyed. At the end of all this he pressed the "no tip" option for me before I even had a chance: it solidified he absolutely knew what was doing was wrong but still didn't check in with me, but of course as I always do, I left him a 20% tip for his services. His coworkers witnessed his behavior and did nothing to stop it, didn't step in, and didn't ask if I was okay. I left red faced, in tears, embarrassed by someone who I paid to do my nails. I nearly had a panic attack. I couldn't drive away fast enough. Not only did he treat me terribly, my appointment was at 5pm I arrived on-time but he was still with a client and didn't start on me until 5:36pm. I understood he wanted to take a break, and I didn't mind because I felt for him. Unfortunately, the entire set was a bust by the end of it. All my nails are different lengths and I ended up choosing any color to just get out of there as quickly as I could. I was so excited to get my nails done here by Liam but I will never be back there, and I warn you to avoid them as well. UPDATE: the business owner replied to my review: Blamed me. His employee was aggressive with me and he told me it was my fault and a service I was paying for was not all about me. He stated Liam got started with me by 5:18, I left no later than 6:25 (check your cameras) so considering this for the nail change that took him so incredibly long and all day to do only realistically added about 10 mins to the service. What an awful business owner, an unhinged response. If you're looking for "royal" or even just good service do not come here. Seriously. Also since you're not even sure what was done on me I had GELX not a full set! Take care, you're response is telling in itself. read more
