I popped in for a pedicure at this location on a Saturday afternoon, their front door listed that walk-ins were welcome. When I came in, they told me to sit down at a pedicure chair but did not get my water started; they also did not give me an estimated time for how long I was going to wait. I sat in the chair for around 30 minutes before they were able to attend to me; I tried to leave around the 15 minute mark but they stopped me and said it would only be another 5 minutes. I spent about 1 hour 40 minutes in this salon total. Granted it seemed like they were busy- as a I sat there, they were dealing with 2 ladies who were unhappy with how their pedicures turned out, so this would have contributed to the long wait. They were very gracious and attended to them well. I just wish they would have told me how long it was going to be there before I sat down. They also do not have their prices listed on the wall. They give you a list of prices once you sit down. My pedicure of pretty standard and about typical for the price in this area. Overall, ok service but there are better places to go to in Tucson. read more

Do NOT go here for a pedicure!! Came for a pedicure the day before my vacation and woke up with an ingrown toenail infection . At first I thought it was just an ingrown they caused by the lady who did them because she didn't know how to properly clip nails so I let them try to "fix" the toe and came back in to have them use their tools on my toe again to lift some of the nail but after that i realized it wasn't an ingrown it was an infection due to their unsanitary tools because they managed to spread the infection to my other side of my toe the second time. asked for a refund on my pedicure but only received a gift card but I will never be returning. Experience was alright. It was an off visit because the first visit took a little longer than intended 2.5 hours for toes and nails. But nails weren't finished by the time I had to go to another pre-existing appointment. Came back the next day and got it finished. Good job, but reason for two stars was that my technician expected more of a tip. My hubby gave a tip when he paid and then I gave an extra 20 today. However, when I handed it to her she pointed to the gal that did my toes and said her too? It was a little odd putting that she expected me to give her another tip. We called the day before for 3 pedicures and 5 dip manicures. I asked in advance if they were able to do any nail art. We waited 30 min-1 hour for all of us to even be seated. We only got 2 pedicures because the wait was so long. After the pedicures were finished, they said they did not have time for these people to get the dip polish. I don't think they knew how to do dip polish and told my cousin we "couldn't afford" the dip polish with a tip and decided to do acrylics on her and my other cousin instead. They did not want acrylics. We were here for a total of 3.5 hours and I think all of us will be getting our nails redone. I went at 5:30 which I guess it was late but they should've turned me down if this was the case, they didn't even know how to do the French I asked for but it was too late because I felt bad. This place is very unorganized, overpriced, and unprofessional. Made an appointment for 3 pedicures and 3 dip manicures for 3pm and they sat two of us down for pedicures at 3:30 and the other one didn't even receive hers and they didn't start working on her nails until after an hour. As we were sitting down a worker told us that only one person in the salon knows how to do dip manicures so they "didn't have time " to do ours when the place closes at 7. They gave two of us acrylics when we asked for dip and also made a comment that one of us "couldn't afford" the dip with a tip. Why would you take an appointment for 3 dip manicures and 3 pedicures when you don't have the number of people or skill? We also called ahead to ask if they can do nail art which they said 'yes' and then we soon realized they would not be able to so we just asked for French tips (which I will include the photo.) We were there for 3.5 HOURS and all of us are getting our nails redone because of how horrible they turned out. read more

I needed to find a new nail place and had a hard time finding an appointment anywhere. I walked into JR Nails spontaneously. They took me right away and I luckily got Andy to do my pedicure. I have a ingrown nails on both big toes, one problematic one that I have been nursing along for 40 years because I have lost it about 5 times in my life. He did a cuticle fix on both big toes with a LOT of patience and persistence. No one has ever been as mindful or recognized what needed to be done like Andy. All my pain disappeared and has not come back, even 3 months later on my return. He didn't have to redo any of that work this time. Andy is a gem and I am so grateful for his skill and good work ethic. He is also a real sweetheart! Go for the gel polish on your manicure!! I repeat, go for the gel! You will walk out of there with beautiful, long lasting nails that will have everyone complimenting you. I live to switch it up and try to get some sort of design. However, it seems like that not something they do often. I see a slight change in their attitude. I went here on a recommendation. My friend who got acrylics had a great experience. They were friendly and nice. I on the other hand have chipped nails less then 24 hours later after a manicure. I did regular mani, normally 14 dollars... then when I got to the front and it was 17 for my matte top addition... she didn't tell me that when I was sitting down. During the appointment I had to ask for another coat of color because it was streaky. I had paint under the nails and around... it was clear that she was not willing to take the time to make sure they were perfect. But the one women in the back who does my friends was amazing... so I guess it is who you got .... Best gel manicure ever... ...today by Lisa, really. I've been coming here about a year and like the vibe and service. The only exception is when they are very busy. They try to accommodate everyone which results in a wait. So I just come at off times and call ahead. Anyway, Lisa took the time to make sure my nails were bone dry, put extra coats of polish on, and was meticulous about keeping the polish off the skin which also helps the manicure last longer. There are many salons in the surrounding area , I've tried many, and I keep coming back here. And oh, the pedicure was wonderful, and reasonably priced too. read more

I desperately needed my nails fixed after they absolutely butchered it at that nail salon inside the Tucson mall. He made them lumpy, thick, uneven, ugly nail job, cut up my cuticles. I was highly dissatisfied and shelled out over $60+ tip he did not deserve. I heard good things about JR nails and decided to drop by. I immediately wanted these horrible nails removed but they didn't want to charge me for a new set and instead offered to try and fix the damages. They did so immensely well. The total was only $78 and that's including a $40 deluxe pedicure. This place definitely deserves recognition and I urge people to go and try it out. I will be back for sure. read more

This is my new favorite place. I walk in, tell them I need a gel fill and gel pedi. I am immediately seated. It's a quiet atmosphere that is VERY clean & it even smells good & fresh. I usually spend 3-4 hours in the nail salon (I get the works), but today that will not be the case. I have a lady named, Moon doing my pedicure and she is delightful; gentle & friendly. Her brother, Francis is doing my get fill (AT THE SAME TIME :)))). He is also gentle & a perfectionist, like myself...yessss!!!! The massage chairs are all nice and neat and give a great massage. I've been here 40 min and I will be outta here in under an hour (almost unheard of). I haven't paid yet, but I honestly don't care...it will be worth it, whatever the cost is. This is one of the best places in town to get a Mani/Pedi and a gel full set. We went for my daughter's 13th birthday after looking at the reviews, and they did not disappoint. Francis gave me a full set of Gel nails with a french manicure and they looked beautiful not chunky or unnatural like they can be from some places. My daughter had a Mani/Pedi with multiple colors on her hands and feet and loved it. They took their time and everyone enjoyed the experience. The shop was very clean and had a great warm feeling.
