Before refinishing my cabinets, I wanted to replace my old laminate countertop and ugly backsplash with 3cm quartz + new brick-looking backsplash. It wasn't until after they left and I was taking it all in that I found the dime sized chip behind the faucet. That made me look at everything more closely and I found little spots scattered here and there that were dull and not sealed like the rest of the countertop. It's not easy to see with the variation of color and all the swirls but it may affect the countertop in the future. I signed that form stating everything was fine so I will have to live with it. I didn't know I had to ask to have holes drilled to anchor my dishwasher. You would think it was obvious since the screws were sticking out from my new dishwasher waiting to be anchored to my counter when they installed it. Every time I open the door to the dishwasher and pull out a rack the dishwasher tips forward then I have to lift it back in place, very annoying. It just reminds me why I'm not going back there to do my bathroom. I'll have my bathroom guys fix the kitchen issues. Don't forget to ask for your leftover piece of stone. I had about $1000 of granite leftover (3 slabs) They don't automatically give it to you if you don't ask. They sell it at full price. I had enough to make a side table the perfect height for kneading bread and sold the other 2 slabs. I'm glad the kitchen remodel is over. I'm looking forward to working with the staff at Works Granite and Stone. They have 5 stars and ratings say they are thorough and professional, so maybe this time will go more smoothly.

We also had an additional cut that he did no-cost (we picked up the extra piece at their warehouse). But our very last interaction leaves an awful taste in our mouth. We asked him to come back briefly to drill a hole (5 minutes + driving). We told him it was not urgent, and to come out anytime in January. He texts at 7AM suddenly saying "OMW there by 8am" - no advance scheduling or notice, just "I'm almost there". Then a 'He said/she said': we were told by our general contractor drilling a hole would be free, Victor shows up, prepared to drill, and says "I would never come out for free - $150 visit fee". I've got 2 kids (1 sick) in the other room, and he springs a negotiation on me very-last-minute like that? We've been texting, asking "anytime this month". He said "well, I'll take $100 cash". Clearly was a money grab. (Later in the day realizing I should have just drilled the hole myself...) So install went well, but awful experience at the end. My fault for not asking about a visit fee before, but his fault for not communicating at all and for an obnoxious cash-grab.

Great experience working with Victor and his installation team…read more My house is 23 years old and well built. I wanted to replace the cartridge in the kitchen faucet and by the time I got damn thing out, I had torn out the sink and some of the laminate! My girlfriend saw my handiwork and said, "Oh good! Now you can buy granite! This is great!" At first I was shocked. Only rich people buy granite. Well, not anymore. I think granite is fantastic. I was referred to Victor by an appraiser. Victor did exactly as the appraiser said he would. We agreed in advance on the following: I would break and make the plumbing and the cooktop and install new backspashes. Victor would tear out the old countertops and backsplashes and seal the granite. Victor measured precisely and provided excellent recommendations. The installation team handled the little "surprises" easily- added epoxy to fill a hole in cabinet where the old cooktop was and chiseled out the drywall where it was a little high in corner joint and chiseled the cabinet where needed for sinks. They've got a great electrical chisel/cutter tool that works on vibration. I got one for myself so I can rebuild the cabinet "floor" under the sinks and cooktop. 3 granite seams are nearly invisible. I paid $7600 for 84 sq ft of countertops (3 in the kitchen, 1 hall bath, 1 master bath). He used 2 big sheets of granite (I am responsible for cost of an entire sheet of granite including leftovers so let him help you plan how you will use your slab. They come in different sizes). So that's $91 per square foot. Seems expensive, but it was worth it to me. I love beautiful high quality stone and workmanship and I got all of that! We visited a lot of small granite outfits and box stores before we met Victor. These outfits sell their own granite but the selection is limited and they are displayed in a way that is hard to see- little samples or whole sheets stacked up like doors in a hardware store. Victor referred me to a granite showroom in Seattle called Pental. They've got a HUGE selection of granite displayed so you can see the whole slab in good lighting. Absolutely gorgeous stuff. I picked a mid-price granite called Astoria. It has the elements that make me happy just to look at it- natural like a sandstone cliff or a dry stream bed, flowing lines in mostly tan with highlights of salmon and black. Plus little sparkles like the inside of an oyster that flash at you as you move around the kitchen. You can almost hear the sound of tumbling water and see the trout in there! Absolutely beautiful! All of the sinks are under-rmount- the only way to go for me. So easy to wipe the counters. Victor's team installs 2x4 side supports for the kitchen sink because of the additional weight a large sink could hold. I was lucky in that my fake oak cabinets with real oak doors and frames were good enough quality that the instl was strong and level. Turns out the color of the stone complimented the honey oak color of the cabinets. I hadn't planned on that nice surprise! Victor and his team are on time for estimate and installation. Very pleasant guys to work with. I haven't installed the faucets and wall tile yet. Still washing up in the laundry tub!

But, I really wanted to deal with a local company, not some big outfit from across the water. Bill at Creative was great when I made my initial visit. He knows his stuff, took his time to explain everything, and followed up every question. I ended up picking a granite I never thought I would, but the price was right. It took couple of weeks for templating appointment, and then two weeks for the manufacture which they do on site with their giant machines. I really liked being able to review how my countertop pieces were being placed on the slabs I chose, and having the ability to tell the designer "please turn that one 90 degrees, to take advantage of that white area I want to see in the top right corner of the backsplash" etc., because they have photos of your slab they lay out on! The installation guys, that I ended up calling the "J crew" because all three of their names started with J, were extremely polite and professional. Yes, sadly we ran into couple of issues. Not with the extremely complicated pieces with 6 different angles that had to go into awkward places - those "weirdos" were all measured and fit perfectly. It was the rectangle backsplash piece that had an issue, and it was addressed on the spot, and resolved to my satisfaction within 2 days. Kudos to Creative to owning their mistake, owning it, and making it right. Overall, I would go with these guys again, and do recommend them. And no, they didn't ask me to write them a review.

They were extremely expensive yet performed unprofessionally. Two quartz pieces were miss cut, they gouged the side of an adjacent wood cabinet, and then retracted their offer to address inevitable chips because I missed their one-year window by a month. And the owner, Jason, whined about how hard it is to cut quartzite and said he wouldn't do any more quartzite work! Isn't that what they are supposed to be able to do well!? I redesigned the backsplash to save them from having to order a new slab of quartz, but they did have to recut the elevated area around the prep sink, as their first attempt was ludicrous. Unless you have no budgetary constraints, all the time in the world and the patience of a saint, go elsewhere.

Walked in looking for a remnant for a 60" vanity and Zula was incredibly helpful. Not pushy, not trying to sell us something we weren't feeling, and her design-eye is top shelf! We came up with two remnant slabs we were interested in, but on a lark Zula remembered a half slab in their fabrication area. Showed it to us and it was EXACTLY what we were looking for. Templating was bang on, vanity top installation also. Our backsplash was slightly delayed due to us wanting that in 2 CM and our job bumping up against another - but we were cool with that. We decided to use Quartzite and understood there would be a number of challenges ahead, including very tight budget and time constraints. We had several contractors working simultaneously, and inevitably hit budget overruns and time delays. We interviewed and worked with several other major countertop vendors, and not only did their customer service leave much to be desired, but our selected vendor fell through at the last minute because they oversold their material. When we reached out to Evergreen, from the start everything was different. We were dealing directly with the owner, who supported us through the whole process, from slab selection to fitting, installation and everything in between. The quote was highly competitive and market-aware, payment was very straight forward and, though we had minor unforeseen issues, they were completely and masterfully handled. Even after the installation was done, we needed help with an issue that was totally outside his responsibility. In the end, we came out ahead of our remodel schedule, within budget, and with a fantastic kitchen. Truly, cannot recommend it further!
