P. Terry's is delicious! I know, I know - if you like hamburgers there are a million places and they all taste great. I've eaten at P. Terry's exactly once, but I had the double cheeseburger and it was just a little bit different than other burgers. I don't know yet if it's the sauce or the variety of cheese or what it is, but I know it tasted the way a cheeseburger should taste. And, AND, Instead Of Being Forced To Eat French Fries YOU Can Choose BANANA BREAD! The rich banana flavor was enhanced by a dense texture and a moist content that dares your neighbor to bring another dry loaf of imitation dessert to the backyard barbecue and see what happens. You know what, I've changed my mind. Don't got to P. Terry's - if everybody decides they like it then the lines will get long and... you wouldn't like it anyway. Never mind what I said, you just go on eating your hamburgers at those other places. I'm Totally ONLY Going to P. Terry's Because the Line is Shorter, NOT FOR ANY OTHER REASON. read more

Came here yesterday for lunch after the USA World Cup win. Food was fantastic like always but service was super slow even though it did not appear to be that busy. We placed a mobile order ahead of time and still had to wait 15 minutes for our food once we arrived. I love P Terrys though and would definitely eat here again- just hope the slow service isn't typical for this location. read more

This location seems to be incapable of putting the correct items (single digits) in the correct bag. It's mind-boggling considering just how much time they take (often 20 - 30 mins) to do it. Such a shame to have to go elsewhere because of these "features". Maybe some day the company will fix it? Probably not. But they will spend the money to pay the person to do the "we care. we're sorry. we'll try to do better" spin in the response that will be below soon. read more

Placed order online. Drove to P Terrys to research location. No Cur-side to park and pick up order. Walked up to the stand where lots of previous orders were stacked up. One employee servicing order for 2 lanes yo pick up. Same employee taking order on the phone. I told in line total 30 mins waiting for my 3 hamburgers and drinks. I checked my order and did not receive 1 soda. waited. finally got my soda. i drive my to work with what should have been 3 cheese burgers 3 fries and 3 drinks only to find my boss was shorted a cheese burger. what an unorganized location. I will never return. Chik fil a is better organized. read more

One of our favorite fast food places! Never a super long wait for food and the fries are always fresh.

Ah, P. Terry's--back in the day, you were the stuff of Austin legend. When you first opened on South Lamar, it was like a burger blessing: fresh, hot, deliciously simple burgers, golden crispy fries, and excellent customer service. I was smitten! My once-a-week ritual was practically sacred. Fast-forward to today: P. Terry's has grown...and with it, a catastrophic plunge in quality. Today's visit was, sadly, the final straw. The fries? Soggy oil sponges. I managed three before calling it quits. The burger? Salty enough to summon tears. And that Coke? So watered down it should have come with floaties. Nine bucks down the drain. I get wanting to expand, but at the expense of quality? Sorry, P. Terry's. You're off my list, and Austin deserves better. read more

Not sure what is happening at this location but twice I have ordered and got home to find out my order was wrong. Order grilled chicken burgers and get hamburgers. Never had this happen at other locations. read more

Yes, great food. Kids love it! Crispy chicken sandwich is the best add onions and the fries are good too. I like the ranch.

They never get my order right. So disappointing to drive home and find that your double cheese burger has one patty. Not worth driving the 7 mile drive to the store to make it right. And it took way too long to get my order, 25 mins. read more

I went there drive through on May the 19th, I was ordering burgers, fries and chocolate banana shake. When I was at the window, after I made the payment the check out lady handed me the shake, it was runny like water, I told her "is this shake supposed to be like this? It's runny like water" she didn't say anything because she was confused and couldn't speak English, She only memorized the words, only little words she spoke. So I talked to the lady was behind her she wore black jacket she seems like supervisor or maybe manager? Idk, and she speak well English because I heard she talked to the customer inside the building, I told her same thing "hello miss, is this shake supposed to be like this? It's runny like water" guess what? She didn't say anything she grabbed the shake from my hand and left, she came back and handed me the new shake then left again, didn't say sorry or anything. I asked the check out lady " can I have some of the ketchup please?" She looked confused again, the I pointed my finger to the box of ketchup in front of her, she gave me 5 ketchup then accidentally dropped 2 of them on the floor, I said " you dropped the ketchup on the floor, can I have more please?" Again she is like "huh" Finally she gave me enough ketchup then again they didn't say sorry or anything. I told them, "wow.. P.Terrys burger in this location the service is totally suck!!!!" They seems hate their job. 3 years ago, their service was great but not anymore. read more

P.Terry's always hits the spot I asked for grilled onions and jalapenos on my #2 and that's what they did.

Absolute disappointment. The quality of food at THIS location has fallen off a cliff. Chicken was rubbery with a gristle-like crust too hard to even pinch in half with my fingers. French fries were totally uncooked, dripping in so much grease that it leaked through two bags and its own wrapper. Staff could not understand my order through the microphone: suppose "#4 Combo" didn't translate well three times? Called to complain, but management wasn't going to be onsite until after 4pm. Maybe that's the problem? read more

Delicious and tasty, simply the best veggie burger I've ever had. Maybe because my fast food expectations for a veggie burger were so low, but P. Terry's delivers. It tastes better than a black bean burger and better than those fake meat Pattie's. Thank you P. Terry's for doing it right and taking us vegetarians seriously! read more

The employees at this location are incompetent. I have left 2 yelp reviews in my life. My order is wrong 7/10 times here. I don't understand how difficult it is to listen to the customer and input accurate information into a machine. This location reassures me of the difficulty of understanding the difference between lettuce and tomato, spicy and regular, 2 patties or 1.... Etc. Some advice: lettuce is the green, leafy vegetable. Tomato's are the red ones. Onions are the white ones. Also, a double cheeseburger has 2 patties. I can see how it might be confusing since it is the #3 on the menu. read more

I've never had a P. Terry burger in my many years of living in the area. On Wed I decided I wanted err needed a burger and lo and behold P. Terry's appeared right in front of me on the 183S access road. This location is always busy but at 130PM there was only one car in front of me. Ordering was a breeze, one double cheeseburger and no lettuce. Yup it was my cheat day. My burger arrived tout de suite at the takeout window. My order was perfect. The burger was cooked to perfection and was juicy as all heck. Did it meet my expectations? Yes, and then some. Next time I'm going to add some additional condiments and rumor has it that their turkey burger is da bomb so that's on the list as well. read more

I'm from Houston so when visiting the Austin area I had to taste P. Terry's. The burger was delicious, the atmosphere was vibrant & inviting. The workers were informative & recommend some good food. It's fast food but a little fresher IMO. The price is hard to beat for a good burger. read more

I love P Terry's, really have never had any issues until this location. They handed me cold fries, and iced tea with no ice, no straw, and then when I left, I realized I forgot my chocolate chip cookie. Staff was friendly, but my order had three issues. Definitely won't be back to this location, unfortunately. read more

I hate to give a bad score but on 2 visits on Friday sept 29th and sat sept 30th I had issues with the person not speaking enough English to take my order over the speaker box where I had to ask for someone else. Kind of sad that the person in charge of taking orders/communicating with the public can't speak English. A friend of mine from L.A. who speaks Spanglish and used to these issues couldn't understand him either. My receipt shows 4 cheeseburgers paid for only got 3. My receipt shows 2 banana breads paid for I only got 1. I ordered 4 burgers, 2 banana breads and 3 fries and when I asked for ketchup I got 3 packs for all that food and no napkins. Well all great things much come to an end. read more

This is a new one. I usually go to this location during lunch and order the chicken sandwich. I prefer grilled onions instead of the normal onions with everything else the same, but today I received the sandwich with just grilled onions. Pretty upsetting, not sure if it was the order lady or the kitchen's mistake. I guess you have to inspect your burger now before driving off. read more

Worst P Terry's in Austin! Horrible service. The employees always have an absolutely horrible attitude. Rarely is the order right the first time they hand it to you. This location is the polar opposite of all other Peter's. Clearly poor management. And poorly managed personnel! Love the food at the other locations. And the service is a lot more friendly! This location happens to be close to my house. But I'll never go again. Three bad interactions. Three times in a row getting the order wrong. And having a bad attitude about it. Pathetic! Makes me think of what the others are going to become read more

First time in Austin and first time at a P. Terry's! My friends and I came here after an Austin FC game and got some "spicy" hamburgers (they weren't spicy) with lemonade and some fries. Pretty typical fast food taste to everything, but I did appreciate the unique layout the place had. I wouldn't necessarily come back, but it's a decent place to visit if you're in the area and/or craving a burger! read more

Love the burgers and like the fries. Visiting the area for the week and ended up going to burger stand twice for lunch. Order cheeseburger combo and love the burger and the price was definitely a good value. Great flavor and toppings fresh and good proportions. I hate a burger with too much of any topping but they got toppings just right and meat cooked to perfection Fries were decent but a few over crispy in my bag. But I know some people like that mix of crispy and soft. Salt was amount was good But overall very good place. Wish I would have taken pictures but I was in rush that day. read more

I love their no.3 burger, but after the interaction tonight, I am not going to be able to frequent the establishment again...... ordered a plain and dry double hamburger with bacon and received a loaded sandwich, discovered after the drive home. This is not the 1st time that this has occurred, but after discovering the error and returning to the establishment, they were not apologetic or even offering any compensation for my time required to return to the restaurant. Negative star. read more

Saw one of P.Terry's drive thrus while in Austin recently and decided to give them a try. They are a drive thru only. I'm a pub style (thick) burger guy and grill style (thin) is not my favorite. Their burger is the thin type. Size was average. Burger was tasty but not anything special. For me, Whataburger is much better. I'll probably not return. read more

Wasn't sure how I felt about an all drive thru P. Terrys, but hey I don't hate it. I love their breakfast, Egg Burgers. It's a total deal, and I get it with sausage, but sometimes I forget to order the sausage and get really sad. The breakfast potatoes are their hidden secret, it totally better than the french fries! I wish this was the option all day! Breakfast is where it's at, and it's super affordable too! read more

We just moved to the Austin area about 1 yr ago (we love it here!) and always seen the signs for p.terry's but never went and now my coworkers husband suggested it so we finally decide to try it. This location is just a drive thru, it's not a sit in type of place. There was a lot of cars there but they handle the line well. It's a simple menu and they are quick and accurate with the orders. My husband had the double cheeseburger (added the optional jalapeños-extra charge, onions and pickles) with fresh cut fries and a coke. I just had the same burger but added bacon to mine. The burgers (angus beef that's hormone free, antibiotics free and vegetarian fed) are fresh, good size and delicious. They come with lettuce and tomatoes. The fries remind me of the great fries back in Chicago from Gene & Judes hot dog spot. They are freshly cut everyday and taste very yummy. I will be here again especially after knowing the beef and fries is healthier here than others. read more

I have always loved P Terry's. It's an Austin staple. I often go with the single grilled chicken sandwich meal. It's something about the way they melt the cheese onto the chicken that makes it so mouthwateringly good. The fries are thin and flavorful. The double chicken sandwich and double cheeseburger are also good choices. Instead of getting tired of eating here, I feel like they just keep getting better especially with new items on the menu recently, including breakfast. read more

This location just cannot get your order correct. What I ordered: one single cheeseburger, two double cheeseburgers, two fries, and two drinks. What the order taker repeated back to me over the intercom: one single cheeseburger, two double cheeseburgers, two fries, and two drinks. What the receipt on the bag said I ordered: one single cheeseburger, one double cheeseburger, two fries, and two drinks. What was actually in the bag: two single cheeseburgers, two fries, and two drinks. Also, they forgot ketchup, straws, and my credit card receipt. This is the second time in the last three visits that they've gotten my order wrong, and leaving out an entire sandwich is disastrous. The restaurant is in a convenient location, but this is too much. read more

I'm a fan of their burgers and fries. This drive-thru location delivers the same quality as the others: basic food made with good ingredients at very reasonable prices. So nice to see one of Austin's home grown businesses doing well and expanding. Go, P Terry's! read more

Shake Shack or P.Terry? P. Terry. In-n-out or P.Terry? P.Terry. Considering price, taste, convenience, and speed of service (It's called fast food for a reason...) P.Terry's wins in all categories for me. And I love how it's a local Austin chain! Favorite menu item is their shakes, hands down. Not for the lactose intolerant since they use real ice cream and milk, but that makes for extra richness and goodness. I also like how they always have a shake of the month to keep things interesting. Also have never had bad service at this location. What keeps me from giving this awesome local chain 5 stars is that the burger isn't knockout amazing. Then again I'm probably just chasing imaginary fast food hamburger unicorns though. read more
